Ah, c'mon! It's so easy to say "everything by the Beatles".
Can't you do a top 5 at least?
For me the fun is making the list and seeing where others have placed those albums in their lists...

It depends on what you go for, really. Her other stuff is very different from "Chelsea Girl." Its darker, more gothic and classical in feel. I love it very much, but it isn't for everyone. I think my favorite is the "Desertshore." It's my favorite album of hers and I think it captures her very well. My friend who is generally into gothic music thinks "Marble Index" is probably the most brilliant album he's ever heard. I enjoy both, but the former is something I really cherish. She was really different...I think getting into her is worth it, but you have to understand a little of her life..she was kind of a vagabond, to put it kindly.

BTW: I'm the biggest J.Cale fan so anything they did together is gorgeous to me.

I dont have all the single album titles but I can tell you who some of my favorite 60's artists are:

The Ventures, (Ventures in Space)
Booker T & the MG's (Green Onions)
Duane Eddy (Lonely Guitar)
Simon and Garfunkel (Sounds of Silence)
Beach Boys (all!)
Rip Chords (Dead Mans Curve, Hey Little Cobra)
Mamas and Papas (all)
Various English Invasion Groups: Herman's Hermits, Byrds, Yardbirds, LuLu (To Sir With Love) Mersey Beat, Beatles (of course!) Stones (ditto!)
Various "folk" groups, some of my fave songs are: Walk Right In, Georgie Girl,
5 O'Clock world (Drew Carrey used this as his theme song one season), Quinn the Eskimo, In the Year 2525
Johnny Rivers (Secret Agent Man)
Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons (all)
Bobby Darin (all--but especially Mack the Knife!)

Im sure I forgot a bunch......dangit.....

Ooh, I didn't see this. Cool idea, Sharon.

In no particular order:

1. Volunteers - Jefferson Airplane
2. White Light/White Heat - Velvet Underground
3. Whole New Thing - Sly & The Family Stone
4. Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan
5. Tommy - The Who
6. Cheap Thrills - Big Brother and the Holding Company

I can't think of others.

The Doors: The Doors
Bob Dylan: Blonde On Blonde
Bob Dylan: John Wesley Harding
King Crimson: In The Court Of The Crimson King
