How would one know if they didn't like early mac if they've never heard them?

ah, they wouldn't. But it is possible, that after they hear them, they won't. I guess you were shocked he hadn't heard it... blackledgeaway!

Has anyone said "World Turning?" That would be good for a news show. I also like the previously said idea of "Eyes of the World."

Of course it is. That's the way it is with Fleetwood Mac... you have people who are predominantly fans because of one member or another, ones who are fans of Fleetwood Mac as a whole, and those who are fans of the whole band but still lean towards one or two particular members, or only certain eras/albums.

It's why we have such raging debates around here sometimes.

But with 37 years' worth of music to choose from, it usually pays off to delve a little deeper into the band's catalog than just five or six albums.

You might not like every track on every album, but it's a good bet that you'll find several "hidden gems" that you wouldn't have discovered otherwise.

In regards to the earliest incarnation of FM, I'm not crazy about a lot of the Jeremy Spencer stuff. There are a few songs of his that I like a lot, but a great deal of it just doesn't appeal to me.
But Peter Green's stuff is phenomenal... as is the larger part of Danny Kirwan's.

Give 'Then Play On' a try sometime... you just might find that you really enjoy it. Even if you have to start with "Oh Well" and "Rattlesnake Shake" and work your way from there, at least listen to it.

I just listened to it. it was good. Doesn't inspire passion in me, but a really great groove album. I'll be putting it back in...

Good! I'm glad you listened to it and liked it.
Keep listening to it... let it soak in. I think you'll be surprised how much you'll actually come to love it.

By the way, I just updated my website... Johnny Stew's Downloads... to feature "Oh Well, Part 1."

Christopher, and anyone else who hasn't heard it before, make sure you check it out. It's free!

Actually, i did like it a lot. But it was an instrumental thing, not a passion-vocalist thing, which is my usual love. But not my only love. I really think it's good, veeeery good! loved the first track, so far, especially.
Thanks, Stewleone!

Jeremy Spencer has some good songs, but I wish he could have found his own concrete identity. Bob Welch is a master craftsman of pop tunes. Christine, as always, had some sensational material before the Stevie/Lindsey era. Still...The early Fleetwood Mac were superb, and sometimes when listening I ask myself "How could they have not hit it big with these songs?" The work from the early Mac, no doubt, is among of their very best. "Bare Trees" is a masterpiece to my ears, as is "Then Play On."

Lastly...Amber, how much for your copy of "Then Play On?"
As free as you could ever want it to be...PM me your address, i'll send it over, tuit sweet! (sweehhhhhheet)
