If only the band shelved their pestering egos and in house dramas we'd almost have that darn album by now..

Because of this BS there will be no album anytime soon ..

They would rather do another cash grab tour, much easier to put on their fake stage shows for 2 1/2hrs per night, than spend 6 months or more in the studio working in a pertentionally walking on egg shells environment.. They have taken the easy road, less friction & guaranteed more money to be made... At the end of their last tour, i was really hopeful that a new album would be made.. not anymore!!

Hoping they prove us all wrong tho

Another Idea of why they haven't said anything is because they are trying to lay low. They took the world by storm for 4 or 5 years in a row like they haven't since 1976. Two of those years because of Chris. This may be part of the make the audience want more silence...dare I say it...before the encore?

At best mediocre is how I'd put it.

I do not believe the album has been shelved
because of that reason.

They weren't holding on to songs for 10 years for the day they reunite the Rumours lineup.
I understand what you're saying. But in answering
I'd have to tear apart each individual album.

Stevie's contributions would include OSOTM and Street
Angel during that time period. Along with FM's Behind
The Mask. There isn't one song I can think of that's great
from any of those albums.

Christine's contributions to BTM and Time aren't exactly
magnificent. As catchy as Save Me is, it's that sugary sweet
type of song that nearly ruined Mirage.

Lindsey actually had a good album between Tango and
The Dance. I wish he'd continued on in that direction.
But by the time we get to Say You Will he sounds a bit
tired. And a little uninspired. Plus the fact that Stevie's
songs and performance bring nothing to the table.

So with the exception of Lindsey's Out Of The Cradle,
that's a decade of less than stellar material from the
songwriters.

Yes, she later said they were all hoping and praying that he'd return, but in her heart she knew he wouldn't.

Screw this band. Seriously. The least prolific band of all time that got insanely lucky with one very good album in the 70s. Petty squabbles well into their 60s. Constant BS saying this, saying that, but at the end of the day incapable of doing nothing but playing the same setlist for the last 30 years.

Because I like their music and still am a big fan of what they have done. I'm not here often, but every time I come back it's the same story. It's like a broken record. Endless cycle of "we're working on an album, this feels great to be back together again" followed by "one of us can't finish the album because our ego is too big" followed by "let's do a cash grabbing tour" followed by "let's give the fans the same 95% of setlist we have the last 30 years" followed by "it feels great to be back together again, let's work on an album". Repeat ad nauseum until one of them drops dead.

Ok. None of this is helping at all. I'm also frustrated at the lack of news but please can we try to leave this thread alone until we hear any new album related news. Thank you!

I basicly agree with your post apart from what I quoted. I can compile AT LEAST one stellar Lindsey album out of the last three.

I think iamnotafraid was referring to the decade between Tango and The Dance.
