since I'm basking in the glow of this new music, my picks gear towards "24 Karat Gold", although "In Your Dreams" ranks below The Wild Heart, Trouble In Shangri-La, and Bella Donna..

I feel the same.

Although this is a great idea for a thread, I need more time for 24k to marinate. When I feel it is equally marinated as IYD is for me, then I can make fair comparisons.

Same here. There are more songs that I really love on 24 Karat than In Your Dreams. It's hard to compare because many of us have grown up with the 24 Karat songs and know them so well.

I put 24 Karat Gold at a very strong #3 behind BD and TWH. Maybe without "Carousel," "Twisted," "If You Were My Love," and "Mabel Normand" (don't like any of these songs), it would have been higher on my list.
