The vocal sounds great from what one can glean from a 10 second snippet.I think the more live and organic feel of this album is going to work in her favor vocally.

I agree that a 'live' approach is the correct one for Stevie, but just reflect upon the recent criticism of her vocal for "The Dealer". Ultimately, most fans seem to seek perfection, particularly with studio recordings. You just can't please all the people...

So we'll just borrow that and say, "You just can't please some people, and ALL those people are on this forum."

A BD version of If You Were My Love:
A fan-made remix that I came across: A Fleetwood mac version:

Loving this, but I can't help but feel that Lindsey should have been brought in on this track. I'm hoping she gets angrier/more intense as the song unfolds.
Gee, I guess I'm just hoping for 1982 huh...

it seems like she's keeping them close to her songwriting demos. Not FM or solo productions-in-process. Probably a good thing, or we wouldn't be getting them so soon.

Love this! Her vocals are so strong from what I can tell. I love the Mirage outtake. It sounds like she's channeling the BD demos, though, and I'm totally happy with that. Finally, she has made amends for that awful SA production. I'm particularly struck by how much better her vocals are in this (concededly very short) snippet as compared to her SA vocal.

Oh, my God! I need to go to the mental institution, or as we say here in Virginia, "the nervous hospital." I am so emotional right now about this little clip. "IYWML" has been my favorite song for years, and all I have is this sad, almost inaudible download of it that I have listened to a million times! Oh, my gosh, this made my day. It sounds beautiful.
I'm going to cry. This will hold me over til Halloween in DC! Last edited by Steviegirl; 08-13-2014 at 11:58 AM..

In this case, I don't think I can accurately gauge my opinion on the song based on the snippet. This is going to be one that if the sound & arrangement we're hearing in that clip is stagnant throughout the whole piece is really not going to be one I'm crazy about. I like the sound of it - but I don't think I'd like an entire song just like that. So I'll have to see how the arrangement progresses before I can pinpoint how I really feel about it.
