I think Katy was just trying to invoke Stevie to be friendly, but it was a bit forced.

Out of pure curiosity, why is a red cross sacrelige? I'm a nonreligious person and just honestly didn't know it was.

As for the outfit, she looks fine. Not great. But it was obvious she had short notice and really just wanted to project her persona at a mainstream event, rather than do anything fashion-forward or particularly exciting. I don't really see the big deal, but I appreciate the fans desire to have her always look amazing/interesting. It's just not particularly important to me, as someone who plans his outfits about 2 minutes before going anywhere.
Its hard to explain. One of the things is that she's wearing it over a somewhat revealing outfit. The other thing people are saying is that it resembles the cross of the Knights Templar, a group of nights who protected the Holy Land during the Crusades. But some say they secretly worshipped demons and did sacrilegious acts. I don't believe they did, but interpreting a group with that kind o history is.. well...

See, now that's funny, because at age 40, I'm hearing - and buying - some of the best music that I think has ever been recorded during my lifetime. I would say that while sales are at the lowest they've been, it's because of technology that can never be reversed and because of poor promotional decisions (like streaming albums before they are released - or streaming them *at all*). It has nothing to do with the quality of the music or the state of the industry.

Exactly! I honestly feel like she's only saying it so Katy Kats and company don't hate her

Style Bible, Rajo's blog, January 27, 2014

70′s icon Stevie Nicks looking very casual and very coven at the grammy’s! I wish she used her magic spells to spruce herself a bit for the occasion.

That anyone cares about the Knights Templar, depite being a defunct organization for 700 years, is plain silly. There are so many *real* issues in our world that need to be addressed - things that actually matter - the color of an outfit or the symbols on it or the superstitions people have about them don't matter. It's 2014. Hunger, pollution, poverty, privacy - these things matter.

The Knights were slandered. All those rumours about them were concocted by the King of France because the Knights refused to give him a loan. His nation was broke from too many wars. The Knights were a rich organization, indeed. He got permission from the Pope to disband the Knights and confiscate their property. 702 years ago.

The only thing about the Knights that is still relevant, and always will be, is the age old truth that if if someone has money, there's always going to be someone else who wants it.

I've not played it. But I like fantasy games with knights and swords.

While I find conspiracies fascinating, people watching the Grammy's for signs of Illuminati or Knights Templar seems like a ludicrous hobby.

Click here for laughs. http://gawker.com/5886988/a-comprehe...ueen-elizabeth

Because of course, anyone rich must be in the same private club. Satanic rich folk like Madonna, The Pope, George Bush, Obama, Beyonce and the Anti-Christ. Yes - the Pope and The Anti-Christ are in the same secret handshake club And Stevie Nicks, obviously, must also be an Illuminati since her and Katy are new BFFs.

A hilarious excerpt:
Quote:
But how will the Illuminati possibly pull off their plan for secret world domination if they're constantly advertising their own existence?
Hey! Did I tell you about Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show?
Ooh, no, tell me.
It was obviously a Satantic ritual. The color scheme was red and black. She had horns on her helmet. The show happened within 48 hours of the full moon. Her male dancers formed a pyramid, a Masonic symbol. It ended with the phrase "World Peace" — as in, "New World Order Peace." And LMFAO was there.
LMFAO is Illuminati?
Can you think of any other reason for their success?
But why would the Illuminati hold a Satanic ritual during the biggest television even of the year?
To celebrate the upcoming assassination of Whitney Houston.
The Illuminati killed Whitney Houston? But... why?
For two reasons: one, to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth, and two, to make room in the Illuminati for Blue Ivy Carter.

Talking about conspiracy theories is actually pretty fun until some of it starts to sound true

I know, right? I drove home form work pouring over memories from childhood of my grandma talking about The Illuminati. Back then, it was Ron and Nancy Reagan, Howard Hughes, and Alan Greenspan. The Illuminati were the world's rich and elite, secretly controlling governments through wealth - now they're rappers and pop divas promoting Satanism and I find it all sort of laughable. Where are the Saudi Princes? Bill Gates? The *real* wealthy and powerful? That French woman who heads up the IMF? I have a hard time believing that any organization which controls the world would include Rihanna in their ranks, but not Oprah Winfrey.

I also wonder why, if Madonna is a member, she has not used that power and influence to get her songs played on the radio since 2003.

(I'm just having fun - I hope I don't offend anyone )

I was thinking about this, too. Katy Perry was raised in a conservative Evangelical household. It's interesting to me that her idea of 'witchy' came off as very Halloween, and not at all wiccan or druidic. The whole thing looked to me like the idea of Stevie Nicks, but not anything like the actual Stevie Nicks. I'm not criticizing Katy, just making an observation.

I thought her performance was cool but I don't really like the song.
