Someone on FB posted there were only 90+ people. I can't imagine that's true. Is it???

No way - they counted the line multiple times and did it in groups so they have heard the person counting in the 90's but that would be in it's own grouping. I would estimate there were a little over 200 by the time they opened.

I was there. Whoever said 90 people may have posted that about 7ish. I got there about 7:30 am. There were around 120 or more people in front of me and by the time I walked into the store there was a line all the way down the street behind me. I met some really nice guys in line so the time went fast.

I have my wristband and am chilling out in my apartment in Hollywood. I'll go back around 4 or 5. They said we didn't need to go back until around 6 because they won't line us up until 7 and each group of wristbands are lettered and will be allowed in alphabetically. But I want to be there early regardless. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.

OMG, I'm so glad you got a wrist band. We were wondering how far back they would go before they ran out. I'd hate to think of any Ledgie missing out.

I'm just hoping I don't vomit in front of her. I never get star struck but Stevie has had the single most influence on me, from writing songs, to the way I listen to music and even the way I live my life. If I ran into her on the street I might be able to make small talk but tonight I have a feeling I'm gonna be like Ralphie in A Christmas Story sitting on Santa's lap.

Oh, and for everyone going... don't forget to unwrap your DVDs!!! I used to work for a porn company and we had one of our models autograph a stack of DVDs he was the star of. We left him in a room by himself to do it. When he was done he said his goodbyes and left. We later went into the room to grab the DVDs only to find that he'd signed every single one with the plastic still on.

So 3 to 4am is the key time frame the get in line for these.

With all the media "TV ,Radio ,The internet" .I 'm surprised the place is not packed with fans.

That's great that you got wristbands and an appointed time frame within which to return and didn't have to stand in line all day.

It was a very exciting event. Stevie looked beautiful, as usual. I have to give her credit for cranking out hundreds of autographs, while still seeming to be engaged and making personal connections with fans. I thanked her for writing "Italian Summer" and that I understood how the Amalfi Coast could be so inspiring. She replied, "There is something about the air... I will live there someday!" No pictures were allowed beyond a certain point in the line, so we tried to get in as many shots from just beyond the signing table.

There were hundreds of people waiting to see her, with a line wrapping around blocks of The Grove. 400 wristbands were distributed, with another 100+ people on standby. They tried to accommodate everyone, but, alas, about 80 or so were turned away at around 10:00 pm.

But Sharon impressed me the most. She was so chatty and just hanging out, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. She was so gracious and lovely. I'm sure she gets a kick out of everyone recognizing her at these events. Just a classy lady.

They had separated everyone into groups with letters. The Barnes & Nobles club members got first in line then the A's. My partner and I had letter I. Around 8:30 I got a text from a friend who had letter B. I kept thinking we'd never get in. But after that it actually went pretty quickly. My partner is much younger than me and he asked me what I thought would be a good thing to ask or tell her. I said he should tell her that he's a new fan because he got into her from my playing her music all the time and just totally fell in love with her. I dunno, I just thought it would make her day. He said "I'm a new found fan of yours" and she said "oh yeah, well when did you find me?" He replied "about a year ago. I loved the movie and that's a beautiful house", she smiled at him and said "it is". There was a little more to the exchange and she was so sweet to him. I think I actually enjoyed watching the two of them interact more than anything. He really is the love of my life and I've been a fan of hers since I was a kid. So it was a really special moment for me.

My moment was a little different. I didn't have any questions. Most of the stuff I ever wonder about is usually answered here on the Ledge. But for me, when I meet someone who's had a huge influence on me I feel the need to thank them. And that's just what I did. While she signed my DVD I was rambling on, something about her being a huge inspiration to me. I felt a little like Ralphie in a Christmas Story meeting Santa. But when she was done she handed me the DVD and looked me in the eye. There was a pause. Time sorta stopped and my head cleared and I said, "You've written the soundtrack to my life... and I can't thank you enough". She said a very humble "thank you" and smiled at me. There was really nothing else to say. I think I'll remember that moment for the rest of my life.

Oh, I didn't realize that priority at events like these could be a benefit of club membership. That's something to keep in mind.

It's so exciting that you have not only the memory of your own meeting, but your partner's as well. It's very nice for you to have those moments as a shared thing. Michele

Aha, the list of retirement options continues to grow. Sounds like you had a good time. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks to everyone for sharing the experience. I'm not sure I'll ever get to meet her, so its great to get a glimpse of what it's like. I would really just like to thank her, which is why I like the quote below. As long as she knows how much we appreciate her, I'm sure she does

How I missed out on meeting Stevie Nicks

As some of you know, I am a huge Fleetwood Mac fan. But also, I am a huge fan of Stevie Nicks.

For me, that band has shaped my love for music even more. And the mysteriousness of Nicks still captures me today. And I will admit, if I was a teenager in the 70s, I’d be mad crushing on her. Seriously, she’s amazing.

I was driving home from work today, stuck in traffic when I was listening to the radio and they said that Stevie Nicks had a signing for her new DVD at Barnes & Noble. While flipping through my phone while I was driving, I find out that the Barnes & Noble is at The Grove and it was 15 minutes away. Instead of sitting in traffic, I get off and drive to the place.

Unfortunately, I would find out that it would be a wasted effort.

In order to get in line for the signing, you either had to get a wristband or wait outside and HOPE that she would have time for you. To get the wristband, you had to be one of the first people to buy her DVD that day. Apparently, all of those wristbands were given away at 10AM. I could have been one of them had I known about it.

But for the line to wait, it was long. Real long. There was no chance I could get in to meet her within such short one-hour time frame.

The entire second floor was filled with the priority wristband people. Then around the block were the people waiting for a chance. There was no chance for me. I showed up too late. Had I known about this event, I would have gotten up and gone to Barnes & Noble to get a wristband and returned later to meet her.

That’s too bad, I really like her. Probably the most famous person to come out of my school too.

Oh well. Dr. J is coming in two weeks. I know I won’t miss that.
