But TISL sold only something like 640K or thereabouts since 2001.

And that was back when the music industry was still kinda healthy. I think we can take any numbers from 8 years ago and pretty much halve them for today. So I think it would be considered a "hit" if she sells 350K or so.
There's no way in heck that
Soundstage is going to go gold. The biggest thing working against her is the fact that a version of this has been broadcast and DVR'd/taped/youtubed/torrented, etc.
ad nauseum since it was broadcast last July. Secondly, many, many fans will assume that this is simply the audio track pulled from the DVD, so they will just buy the DVD only. Thirdly, there are only a couple of bonafide "hits" on the CD; the rest are album cuts or minor radio hits. Fourthly, since she is on tour with FM (and will likely not do a solo tour behind it), she is unable to do extensive promotion. Fifthly... admittedly there is nothing on this set that is particularly earth-shattering. Sure, some of the arrangements have been tweaked, and the addition of strings to "Landslide" is pretty, but overall it's a very conservative set- nothing like Eric Clapton's re-worked "Layla" which was an improbable smash hit for him back in the day. I do hope I'm wrong, but I just feel like so many casual and diehard fans will sit this one out.
