I think it's actually pretty standard these days - they ALL have them.
But I'm suddenly having visions of Stevie back in 1981 or so,
if they had used the monitors back then:
"WEL-come! In-sert . . . city name . . . . HERE!

"
Seriously, though, I think there may be a more practical, reasonable purpose for them -
suppose Stevie got distracted by something? (for example, a drunk nutbar running up on
stage, a loud noise, Lindsey getting uppity, or the be-all-end-all of Stevie Nicks distractions - CUTE PUPPIES!!!)
She'd want to have a way to quickly figure out where she is and what to sing next.
Obviously she could do that from listening to the other musicians but if she's upset,
nervous, distracted, etc., a quick glance at the monitor might be much more helpful.
