Did you see that Ann Wilson interview that was trending today how jealousy broke up the original Heart band. The Wilson sisters were the stars and no one would ever interview or care to talk to the other members. It made me think of Fleetwood Mac. I think it would be worse for Heart because they were not just 2 girls in a band, they were family. So I think it felt like a family band and it drove the other members nuts which is why they had changes in bass, guitar, and drums from the original members.

I didn't see or hear that comment from Chris about being a tad jealous of Stevie at the beginning.
Nor did I see the Ann Wilson interview. But I know the Wilson sisters had majority ownership in the band, so as long as they stuck together they could fire anyone they wanted. My sense is that more than anything is the critical factor behind all the comings and goings.
Also original lead guitarist Robert Fischer cheated on Nancy, which proved to be the death knell for his tenure in the group. It's not analogous to Lindsey and Stevie because, unlike Ann and Nancy, at that point they were not the bosses. (In time Stevie would attain the power position, notwithstanding her assertion to the contrary.)
