NOT an April Fools-- Stevie at the ZOO!!

My good, reliable Detroit pal just IMed me that Stevie's booked at the Toledo Ohio Zoo on June 25th, and tickets went on sale this morning. If it turns out this info is redundant, and everyone already knew, i'll be happy to delete this thread...But... the ZOO???? I have never heard of a concert at a zoo before.

It was announced a few days ago...

Yeah, performing for the animals. Talk about crossing over to a new market!

That's funny... I saw Stevie on the Crystal Visions tour at the Oklahoma City Zoo Ampitheater last year on May 30!

I'm so excited she added the St. Louis tour date, I am going to try to go see her again on this tour! Yay :D

The Zoo? Would that it were a belated April Fool's joke..kind of a comedown for a woman who was once one of the biggest stars in the world .I'd much rather see her do a tour of midsized but respectable concert halls.

I agree. It's kind of weird to see these line ups of casinos and zoo amphitheaters. It's a bad choice of halls for whoever is booking her tours. Bring on Radio City Music Hall! Olympia in Paris-she really needs to tour Europe.

But it's a zoo with a concert venue, right? It's not like she has to perform in front of the Lion's den (which would actually give "Stand Back" a whole new meaning).

It's like the cemetery Forest Lawn has a chapel and people get married there, which sounds pretty morbid, getting married in a graveyard, but really it's quite a lovely setting.

Well I did see her at Irvine Meadows on The Wild Heart Tour and back then it was adjacent to the Lion Country Safari which she made reference to during the show so in that in that context I can kind of understand it I guess.

Oh, i see, its an actual theater, near or on zoo grounds, but not in the actual zoo. That seems a little better.
Come to think of it, here in CT, the former Oakdale Theater is now known as the Chevrolet Theater and that could possibly be mistaken by non-locals as a concert venue located at an actual Chevy dealer.
.which it isn't.
Who knew, an ampitheater at a zoo.

BombaySapphire3, i guess by the time i went to Irvine Meadows, circa 1991, LionCountrySafari was gone...i'd like to think i would remember lions. but it was very dark. maybe there was a safari next door, i dont know!
PS- Personally, i don't think the Bible is blind, without it (and Jesus) i think i'd be dead, or want to kill myself. Noticed your tag and thought i'd just send you best wishes, everyone has the right to make up their own mind. And thank you, because seeing your tag reminded me WHY i haven't been able to sleep for 2 days, i gotta sign off The Ledge, and get back to either Hebrews or Proverbs, or both. Truth, peace, rest. And i have you to thank for reminding me...not to forget... Goodnight :) Thank you- Kol, in CT
