you can only post every 60 seconds?

This rule is insane. A lot of us here get involved in conversations almost as if they are real time so this rule is really a thorn in everyone's side. Just a thought!

Also, the fact that a post has to be at least ten characters is also insane. Sometimes a simple "Yes" or "No" is an appropriate response to someone's post but we can not doo this because the messages are too short. This is another rule that I think is hindering the board instead of helping it.

I agree. I doubt these rules can be changed tho...

Both of these rules could be changed, but they are by design (anti-flooding measures). Frequent one word posts are very resource intensive and can lead to a corruption of the database. Those kinds of posts are much more appropriate for chatroom software than the kind I have running on The Ledge. Sorry...

Oh, no problem! It is not that big of a deal, sometimes it just gets a little annoying waiting for the 60 seconds to be up. Obviously, it is good that it provides a clean board without flooding/spam. Thanks!

wondergirl9847 07-04-2005 03:24 PM

Well...

Nothing is more annoying than reading a post that says...

Yes.

or

No.

Also, people, you don't have to quote someone (especially LONG posts) if you post right after them. Also, I think peeps should only quote the parts of a post that they are referring to.

That's a pet peeve of mine, actually... but I try not to say anything.

I realize that we all want to acknowledge who it is we're replying to, but quoting the first few lines, or the pertinent passage, would suffice.

Do you think some Ledgies don't know how to edit a post? I'm not joking, maybe they really don't know how to edit the text in the reply format.
