Stevie live 02/10/2024
She changed up the set for this leg. She does a cover of Stop Children What's That Sound. Leather and Lace is back in the set with her vocal coach.
This is an excellent quality video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUOOfi2HYb8 |
The Stop Children What's That Sound song is called For What It's Worth. She's been performing it in her setlist since September 2022. I didn't watch the video. How is her energy?
Interesting she put a hit back in but doesn't do her second biggest hit! |

Here's For What It's Worth. And it's not For What It's Worth from her album In Your Dreams: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80_39eAx3z8 |

Free Fallin’ will never leave her setlist. It’ll be in there when she’s singing at 90. She said she never really met Stephen Stills. There’s a great photo of Stephen, Young, and perhaps Jagger online from the Ertegun celebration of life.
For What it’s Worth has also become a must play for her. Edit: I found the photo! https://www.gettyimages.ae/detail/ne...hoto/109674847 |
I was sure there was a "snooze" emoticon but nope.
This has to be the most stale she has ever been. Same awful outfit, boring ass set. I'm so glad I saw her solo for the last time in 2016 when she was actually taking some chances and doing some new things. How hard would it be to throw on a different shawl or cool vintage outfit to throw us a tiny bone of something differnent. That being said, she is honestly the most popular I have ever seen her in my lifetime so I guess it's working for the average fan. People rave over these shows. I don't get it. |

And I also think that people who have never seen them, think, "wow, we've never seen her...this might be our last chance!" |

Things and people are really strange right now. Fans and consumers should be banding together to boycott the outrageous ticket prices, but it is just the opposite. As long as there is a demand the price will continue to rise. It's particularly ridiculous to pay that much for veteran artists who have seen better days, years, and decades. The bands and promoters realize what's happening now so they all want to go on the road to rake in the profits. I can't help but think that many of the people paying these prices can't even afford to pay their own bills, but they will help to make these millionaires even richer. And don't even get me started on Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing scheme.

Stevie played in Queens New York last night and the setlist was the same as last year except no Sara and I Sing For The Things. Leather and Lace is the only thing that’s “new.” This tour reminds me of the post TISL days so much. Covers in her setlist and casino crowd setlists. So disappointing being a Stevie fan.
|
So disappointing and agree with just about everything here. This Stevie has become unrecognizable in so many ways, and after being a fan for such a long time, it is inexplicable that people are praising these tired, BORING, unimaginative, rambling, EMBARRASSING sets. I have boycotted since Lindsey's firing, but I'm not sure I'd be going anyway. The prices are ridiculous, and the show is a bummer. I'm going to Avett Brothers at Red Rocks and will see the Dirty Heads and maybe even the Stones in Philly this year, but the thought of an overpriced Stevie concert is out of the question. It's too depressing...AND expensive. Ugh.

What really sucks is this new touring model of perpetual blocks of dates, year after year - it only encourages the show and setlist to be set in stone. All the spontaneity is removed from the set so it doesn't matter if it's been 3 weeks or 3 months since the last show, everyone can fly in and do the show with barely a soundcheck. She's even using the majority of the same stage/production elements from the 24k Gold Tour from '16-'17. They might add a new horse to the carousel from time to time like they've done with L&L/ISFTT - but other than that, it's the same carousel and the same ride every time. She could easily add in 3 additional songs to the set just by cutting the amount of story time by half.

You would think her band get stale and fed up with the same old, same old.
I’m not a musician and I realise they have to earn a living.. But as artists, it must be boring.. |

My guess is, the money is good and it's a relatively easy gig because it's the same thing every night, for the most part. The whole band is probably on a retainer for the whole year so they're getting paid even if there is a 3 month break in the tour. |

I agree here. We don't ask for much. Just a healthy, happy Stevie with a few different outfits and shawls, like she used to wear. A few different songs and us fans are happy again.:] |
Stevie performed in Baltimore last night and it was the same casino setlist. And the energy level is low. Nowhere near Mick Jagger, Cher, Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Debbie Harry, Nancy Wilson, or Madonna. Two years later and still no new songs in the setlist!
|
I'm so tired of Free Falling. Yes we lost Tom Petty and it is very sad, but still 7 years later you are still honoring him. It's been a year since Chris passed. I feel like it's a shtick for her. A way to get sympathy or it's just laziness on her part. Keep the wheel turning. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

(this next comment is not for you but for everyone) At her age and being an oldies act this set is what they want. She's not playing these songs for the fans of The Ledge. She's playing for the casual fans that go to concerts. They want Gold Dust Woman, Stand Back, Rhiannon, Dreams, Gypsy. BTW, has anyone heard the latest Gypsy story. OMG now she's talking about how she was so poor she was before joining Fleetwood Mac. Now that she came into money her mother told her to hire an accountant. She told her mom when she joined Fleetwood Mac that poor people don't pay taxes when her mom suggested hiring an accountant to file her taxes. Earth to Stevie: Poor people may not pay taxes but they FILE taxes. Its the law Stevie. Your mom was telling you the truth. But she did solve a riddle we all questioned. Stevie and Lindsey got $400 EACH per week, not combined. $1600 per month was lots of money in 1975 considering they never had a hit record yet. |

Anyway, I’ve seen Cher live multiple times and I’ve felt she’s been more energetic on stage than Stevie. Here’s a video of her at age 72. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O-R...IgMjAxOA%3D%3D Stevie twirls maybe three times in a show now. For hardcore fans that want to see Stevie, these setlists are an abomination. |

But as a casual fan, if I had gone to see Tina Turner, Eagles or Rolling Stones, I would expect and be happy with the typical hits. Or dissapointed if they didn't include the greatest. That's the argument Glenn Frey used to convince Randy to not stop singing Take It to the Limit. And of course there's the money factor, too. Bands look to please casual fans because they are the majority. |

This is the latest Gypsy story. It started in 2014 about buying cool outfits and the people of the velvet underground. Now its transformed into it was her decision to join Fleetwood Mac, she was so poor that she never filed taxes, and slept on a mattress on the floor when she was rich and successful.

She's LITERALLY THE MOST RIDICULOUS PERSON EVER.
Completely delusional. |
I think the Gypsy bed on the floor started on the Mac's 2009 Tour.
She's also saying she visited Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval starting in 2002. She first went in the summer of 2005. She said she sang Fall From Grace for one tour and never did it since then. Fall From Grace was performed on every tour from 2001-2011. I don't know why Karen doesn't hand her a fact sheet before each show. |

These incorrect, concert history date, facts are just a distraction for fans, when we just want her to care about her career enough, to make us want to spend our hard earned money to go to see her!:wavey: |

Peggy's (Prince's studio engineer) recollection of Stevie is sad and hilarious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KG3e7GuC80 |

During that Storytellers segment she says that Prince came in, did his little keyboard part and then walked out of her life. She was invited to the Purple Rain premiere but left in the middle and ran to the bathroom. Prince confronted her about it which means it upset him. Its clear that Prince wanted nothing to do with her. When she met him in the 80s she was a major drug addict. Prince was not into that stuff (then). I am speculating that is why she went to the bathroom during Purple Rain. Didn't Stevie say he brought her cough medicine in bed once and made a comment like she did not want to get addicted to another substance. That's pretty blunt. This is what she said about Prince in 1998. They had a non-relationship: In 1998, Stevie revealed that the song was about her relationship with Prince. “‘Thousand Days’ was written about my non-relationship with Prince,” Nicks said, who had earlier composed “Stand Back” with him — although she notes he’s never called her back “to set up his payment on 50%” of the latter. “Days” recounts an abortive, all-night ’80s recording session with him at his Minneapolis home during a Fleetwood Mac tour, climaxing with Nicks “smoking my pot — he didn’t agree with my lifestyle — and going to sleep on Prince’s floor in his kitchen. I like him, but we were just so different there was no possible meeting ground.” (Modern Records, 1998) Can you imagine her passed out on Prince's kitchen floor. In her song she say he dragged her up the stairs. OMG she coulnn't walk  |
About Stevie and Prince, dancer Brad Jeffries who appeared in Stevie's videos mentioned this at his 'Quora' page:
"I met both men (meaning Michael Jackson and Prince) during my career and was more honored to have spent a couple of occasions in the Purple One’s presence. Upon watching a music video I had danced in with Stevie Nicks, (Prince had contributed a synth track that really “made” the song), he turned to me and smiled and said quite sincerely, "I wish I could turn like you”, with his signature quiet tone. I was sitting on a couch between Stevie and Prince at the time, as Stevie was showing it to us on the eve of its M.T.V. debut the following day, and I was so shocked by his compliment I believe I mumbled something inane like, “Well I wish I could do EVERYTHING else like YOU”. Hey, I was 22 at the time and still young enough to get tongue tied in the presence of greatness. Fun times". |
