His (her?) name is Zorro. I'm still waiting to find out if it should be Zora. :lol: You're really not supposed to let birds play in dark, confined spaces like that because it triggers their nesting instincts which can be bad for female birds. But, I've had Z for 3 years, and no eggs yet, so I decided to allow him some leeway. I have more new pics - just waiting for them to upload. *insert modem noise here*

And - funny thing your asking - he was sitting on my shoulder earlier, and actually tried to fly down onto the keyboard. First time ever. He's actually trying to do a lot of things Rocky used to, since he never got the chance to before... I don't think he's heavy enough to actually type anything though. Probably just get random short bursts of letters when he lands. We'll see!

This is his fave toy - he likes to fling it against the side of the cage and make TONS of noise when he wants attention. (Which is frequently.)

And thanks - we're doing better after a rough month. He misses Rocky too - he still flies around looking for him. They used to play this weird game of tag/follow-the-leader sometimes, and maybe he thinks Rocky's just hiding somewhere. I'm still contemplating getting him a friend. I don't want him to be lonely when he's not out with me.

i can relate to the tagteam....oddly enuf shelly and my cat pepe (le pew) are in love...
need to capture the lovefest and will post

The problem is *not* getting him to do that. I put the towel over the door to stop him from chewing on the door. He may look cute, but that beak is strong and sharp, and he knows how to use it. I give him wood chunks to chew up in his cage, and he can usually reduce one to shavings in an afternoon.

Then one day he discovered the tunnel made by the towel-folds, and now that's the first place he goes when I let him out for playtime. It's his own little "secret" place. It's weird - seeing this lump move along the top of the door under the towel. And he chews up the towel too, but that's fine with me. Much easier to replace an old towel than a door. :laugh:
