Landslide on "Cold Case"
Does anyone watch this show? They played Landslide at the end of the episode with a guy singing it and I'm curious who the artist is...
|
That is one of my favorite shows and I watch it religously but this past Sunday the Kate Moss E! True Hollywood Story was on at the same time and I just couldn't pass it up. My luck I miss the one episode they play a Stevie song :( I'm sure there will be a re-run though.

It was Smashing Pumpkins. I actually like that re-make of Landslide.:)

thanks! |
The Smashing Pumkins version of Landslide is positively the best Stevie Nicks/FM cover ever. I absolutely love it (and am usually a harsh fan of SN covers). I just can never listen to it without thinking about my best friend in High School who thought it was their original song :distress:.

Corgan got a lot of acclaim for that song, mostly for staying so true to it.

I noticed it too and announced to everyone in the room what it was!
NERD! Cold Case has pretty good music. I'd love to have that job (Music Supervisor?). On a side note, anyone have any I idea what kind of background you need? |

They definitely do a great job with music on Cold Case. I saw one recently where they weaved Bruce Springsteen songs throughout the show and each one matched the scene.
|
This reminds me of the music from Queer As Folk. The music was so awesome that a site was devoted to keeping up with each song played during each episode. At one time Showtime was listing what those songs were, but after they stopped doing that fans had to research them to figure it out...it was pretty cool. Another show that had that perfect combination.

Figures they wouldn't use the real "Landslide", huh?

Personally,I HATE the Smashing Pumpkins version. Billy Corgan should never have ever ever ever sung that song. I heard it for the first time this summer and was dumbfounded. Hes so,like, whispery.

Omigosh, I read johndoe saying "whispery" and I was thinking "actually, whiny whispery" then the next post said whiney. Cool, I'm glad some people think that it's as craptastic as I do. The Pumpkins make me hurl my toes out through my mouth anyways.
Love cold case, saw it. The music is one of my favorite parts, but it's so calculated to tearjerk. If it was in a movie they would say something about...trying to hard to be Oscar bait, or the music telling you how to feel, or something. Love it, though. I think the first ep I saw was a 1981 Bette Davis Eyes episode. I was so happy that night. Oh, and lala, I don't know how people get that job. |
