Benefit concert in Vegas

this from Taku's board :

"We will play a total of 30 shows in Italy, covering 29 different cities (we hit Rome twice)... I will truly get a sense of every region of the country. I definitely consider this a blessing and a perk of what I do for a living. Don't worry... I don't take any of it for granted! I am really trying to get my Italian together, and I have struck up an agreement with the background singer (Roberta GranÃ*, one of the top singers in the country who also sings with the two other biggest artists from Italy... Eros Ramazotti and Laura Pausini)... I help her with her English and she teaches me Italian!

Also, I get to partake in some of the best food and wine in the world. It's definitely an amazing experience.

It is definitely a bummer that I have had to miss performances with both Bette Midler (on the Today Show, Late Night with David Letterman, and the Martha Stewart Show) as well as an upcoming benefit concert in Vegas with Stevie Nicks, but I am definitely having a blast. "

This is random but I won 2 free tickets to see the '99 Millenium show at HOB in Vegas.

Would you believe I didn't go? I am not fond of Vegas. It's the tackiest **** hole.

You probably have some good direct flights from over there I'm sure, right?

When I came out in 2001 I flew via San Francisco on the way out and LA on the way back. I would probably fly direct next time though. It was quite pricey though..

I'm sure it was. I remember at the milennium show in '99 I saw ALOT of people from overseas.

jkmaletic 11-08-2005 01:11 PM

Whoever posted this info, thanks! :)

I'd definitely be down for another Vegas trip, but ONLY if:

1. Stevie does her own show (not a part of a show with other performers)
2. The tickets aren't absolutely CRAZY money. Vegas, as you all know, can be ridiculous with concert prices, let alone a benefit show.

I went to the Saturday show in May and loved every second of my time in Vegas. I went horseback riding that Sunday in the desert and had a good time. I would love to live in Vegas actually.

I just LOVE the way this guy leaks huge bombshells like this
as if he were giving the time and temperature.
It's like, "OH and I almost forgot, Stevie's doing a Benefit show in Vegas."
And - YAAAAAAYYY!

exactly! Well put! Taku's a bit of a tease, isn't he? He's always on with the info though. I hope it happens, and I PRAY the tickets aren't too expensive. Vegas is only a 45 minute $75 round trip plane ride for me, plus I can stay with a friend, so that would be covered. It's just those STEEEP ticket prices... ( I'm hoping they won't be over $300 each...)

Livia 11-08-2005 06:47 PM

I've still got a SW rapid reward ticket to burn...:p

Hm, if it's true, I really need a date soon. This would be a lot cheaper than flying to Oz, so I might consider it. I just have to figure out a way to tell my boss I need some time off to see Stevie Nicks in Vegas. Maybe it's time I come out of the closet. ;)

Btw, direct flights are usually always more expensive. My sister flew to Vegas last August (and the biatch didn't even want to go to the August 6 Stevie show just for me to take pictures - I really wasn't feeling the sisterly love back then, believe me) and in order to make it affordable, she flew from Brussels to Washington DC to San Fransisco and then Vegas. But it was an El Cheapo flight for sure.

Same here, and I will add:

3. it is a charity I am willing to give a bunch of money to.

Somehow, the way Taku wrote it, it seems like it's a benefit show with a lot of performers, including Stevie.

Karlie 11-08-2005 08:06 PM

This is exciting. I love Vegas! I've only been there twice, for the May 14 and August 6 shows. :)

UnwindedDreams 11-08-2005 08:10 PM

It was the one that showed most of her music videos as a montage.

They played it inside every 2 minutes.

Great, I just found out today that Southwest is starting a new non-stop service to Vegas from Providence. New Years is on a 3 day weekend but I still don't know about that job yet so my hands are tied at this point.
I would love to but I don't think so and I can just imagine the hotel prices are through the roof.

tuigirl 11-09-2005 01:29 AM

Just out of curiosity...who's Taku playing with in Italy? Hope he has a fab time!

GypsyAsh 11-09-2005 02:28 PM

A trip to Vegas sounds like a good stocking stuffer from my parents...I've been a pretty good daughter this year....I think.

Well, when I went for the Millenium show in '99, I just went out, stayed up all night and flew home the next morning. I got a roundtrip from Minneapolis to Vegas on United with a change in Denver foir $240
