My Philly Review!!

WHEW!!! what a night!!! AMAZING AMAZING SHOW!!

Stevie looked absolutely gorgeous... she sang her heart out.... I'll go through each song and what she did and my impressions of everything...

Outside The Rain - belted it out, especially "tell me is there anyone in this whole wide world that could ever replace me"... AWESOME!

Stand Back - spun 15 times (i counted)... did a very high kick at the end... had tons of energy... there were visuals behind her on the bac k screen of her spinning around and around taken from the SYW tour.. again, awesome...

Circle Dance - beautiful song and she sang it beautifully..

Edge - AMAZING scream at the end.. spun 20 times after greeting the fans... best she's done in years and years...

Gold Dust Woman - VERY cool... a duet with Don... it was wild..

Beauty And The Beast - just as beautiful as it was in Vegas...

Leather And Lace - flawless!

.... this was absolutely the best Stevie Nicks i have seen since Street Angel, 1994... she was dancing, spinning, she looked soooo thin and sooo beautiful.. her hair was wild and whispy like it was for "The Dance" video.. she was kicking, screaming.. she was wild!!! The energy in that place was incredible... i saw her twice in Vegas and this show puts those performances to shame...

... also, i recorded the show... was it successful??? i'll let you all know in a few minutes ;)

how's the other one?

thepoetinmyhear 06-04-2005 01:52 AM

All right, this keeps getting buried in the other thread, Brian did Don sing on Stop Draggin' or was it Waddy?

estranged4life 06-04-2005 01:59 AM

I should have it...

in my hands anyday now, (It is arriving with the 5/13 & 5/14 shows on audio disc), I'll post my review when I can listen to 'em.

Btw, I prefer your recording 5/10 over 5/11...5/11 has just a bit too much audience noise, But is still a good recording

Unfortunately, tonight's crowd was VERY VERY vocal.. i wish i had been seated far away from the friggin annoying girl and her boyfriend who wouldnt shut the **** up all night.. but unfortunately, i was seated right next to them :distress:

i'm listening to the show right now and it sounds great... but you can hear the crowd.. ::sigh::

hopefully tomorrow in Holmdel, i will be seated next to people who arent so rude...

diamondsnake 06-04-2005 02:09 AM

Her energy level was like that i have never seen.. and i have seen her over 50 times.. she was sooo "in the moment"... I can't tell you how impressed i was with all her performances tonight... and the fact that she looked so beautiful, just added to that... i'm so glad i went to tonight's show... i battled through 4 hours of bumper to bumper traffic to get there and through a monsoon on the drive back.. but, was it all worth it?? absolutely~~ :woohoo:

I am twirling my mustache trying to hatch a scheme to get to one of these shows! I'm so glad you had such a great time!

thepoetinmyhear 06-04-2005 02:23 AM

So glad to hear it was Don and not Waddy. Sucks about the loud people near you but if you've heard the 5/14 show that person is near some rude people too and you eventually tune it out.

estranged4life 06-04-2005 02:28 AM

Well...

as long as the audience noise isnt too distracting (I cannot remember which SYW show where audience members near the taper are ripping on Stevie and her past weight gain & etc.) I usually have no problem with shows.

Was it one of the Boston shows? There were some annoying people talking a bunch of nonsense on that audio.

Why do people do that? In Vegas a bunch of people beside me decide to have some kind of fight and call security during.... Beauty and the Beast!!!! Of all songs! I could barely enjoy the song on Saturday, fortunately I gave it my undivided attention on Friday.

Hmmm... well you got your Stevie fix in Vegas, I guess. That certainly softens the blow... I forgot to ask, how did you score your front row for Vegas?

I have to say, that on many levels, tonight was a disaster for me... i was stuck in 4 hours of traffic in a drive that would normally take 2 hours... it rained all the way there.. and rained much worse, all the way back.. at the show, the two people sitting next to me would not shut up the whole night... the girl kept singing and when she wasnt singing, she was talking to her boyfriend.. but even worse, was the drunk guy in the row behind me who was thrown out by two security guards after a long 10 minute arguement.. left a bittersweet taste in my mouth.. but all that negativity aside, the show itself was fantastic..

It got it at the box office the day before. The seat sucked actually but at least I was already up front of Edge. Saturday I had to make a mad dash for it and I was not successful. I got stuck in back of some big moron who decided that he had to have the whole edge of the stage himself. He put his big arm on the stage totally blocking me!! Why do people have to be so rude at shows? Then I had the swayer at the Wednesday show next to me. Most likely ruined any chances that I had to get a nice photo of Alex and Marissa with Stevie.
Friday I was way up on the tippy top. Never will I sit there again!

I am sorry about your bad experiences! WHY oh why do these people who won't shut up or are just too drunk go to a show?? When I went to see The Eagles here in Providence 2 adult men almost had a fist fight over smoking. It almost makes me want to stay home. I think that is why I never really go anywhere.

estranged4life 06-04-2005 10:36 AM

Just received it this morning...

and it is great, The vocals are upfront as is the instrumentation...Just a tad too much bass level (Which I can easily reduce on my equipment) but otherwise this recording is great!!!
