What movies have you seen lately?
The last two movies I saw were "In the Cut" and "Monster".
I rented "In the Cut" thinking that it would be pretty decent, because I like Meg Ryan and it looked like a good thriller. Boy, I was dead wrong. It should have been titled "In the Porn". I was shocked. Not that it was actual porn, but that it was porn with MEG RYAN. She showed everything...in explicit detail, folks. The sex scenes went on for ten minutes each and there were some rather shocking close-ups. As a thriller, it sucked. As a porno, it was mediocre. But Meg Ryan's acting was great (when was wasn't making monkey love) and I think she should've been nominated. "Monster" was brilliant. Charlize Theron rocks. Period. I got quite misty-eyed when I saw it. Really sad. What about you? |
LOL...my boyfriend and I went on a date and were torn between seeing Love Actually and In the Cut....sooo...I'm like, "Well I hear Meg Ryan really steps out of her element in this one...lets see it..." so we did...what a horrible date movie...haha...I agree...not a great thriller...or porn...but Meg Ryan was really good...I was so shocked at the stuff they showed...and still have not been able to watch When Harry Met Sally again...hahaha...
Anyway...the last movie I saw was "Waiting for Guffman" it was hilarious...I'm now officially obsessed with these Christopher Guest movies and have been annoying the hell out of people because I keep saying "Wha happened!?!" lol.... I also plan on seeing Monster this or next week...it looks really interesting |
I just saw 50 First Dates which I enjoyed. Drew Barrymore is just so cute and sweet and Adam Sandler was not his usual obnoxious self and was sweet also.
|
I rarely go "out" to the movies anymore. I much prefer renting DVD's and enjoying them at home...so I'm always a little late on the newest releases. But I really want to see "Monster."
I just watched "Seabiscuit" again, great movie... "Lost In Translation," excellent! "Thirteen," good, but kinda depressing. Holly Hunter is great in it..."Comedian," the Seinfeld documentary, hilarious! It's funny to hear him say the F-word, since he doesn't cuss in his act, and couldn't cuss on TV. And for the 5th or 6th time, I turned on a couple friends to the "Dark Side of the Rainbow," Pink Floyd/Wizard of Oz thing. We watched it Friday nite - they were blown away! :wavey: |

LOL...ya..the drunk scene was probably my favorite!! I also love Catherine O'Hara...but Jennifer Coolidge is probably my favorite (even though she's not in Guffman)... Anyway...I've had the "Sure-Flo" song stuck in my head for over a week now lol.... |

Er....
Finding Nemo...and that was because we popped it in the DVD player last month. It was a Christmas gift. LOL
I think the last movie I paid to go see at the theater was From Justin to Kelly. *No lip from ANYONE*  I have lost pretty much ALL interest in movies for some weird reason. I love TV and if I had to put them in order of preference...music, TV, movies. |

I watched Lost In Transalation Friday night and it was great. Sofia Coppola should do quite well at this year's Oscars.

The last movie I saw in the theaters was The Return Of The King. I almost never go to the movies. I do want to see Big Fish though :) . The last movie I saw period was Ghost. I'd never seen it before, and I thought it was pretty funny. And it wasn't that tear-jerking...

...about a gay man in the holocaust. Very dark and bloody amazing. Plus, Mick Jagger plays a drag queen and he's very good. (The ugliest drag queen I've ever seen, but very good:) . Amazing that someone who is naturally so androgynous-and hotter than hell, IMO-in real life makes such an ugly drag queen.:) ) |
gldstwmn...who is that with john lennon in your sig?
Does anyone else like the movie "Adaptation" I LOVE that movie....saw it on tv and then went out and go the DVD not long ago. I love the narrations. Alex |

WOW. Great performances. Charlize did a spooky transformation. She can start making the space for her Oscar on the shelf. I could never sit through it again - simply too difficult to watch. Now, I want to see the documentaries. My only quibble with the movie is they really made Aileen seem too sympathetic. Maybe she was, in some ways, but that was a little suspect. A bad Hollywood trick to make us like a villain. Minor issue. It is a great film. |

Last week, on vacation, my cousin, broother and I went and "saw" Miracle in the theaters which was the most boring movie EVER. We watched maybe forty minutes of it, then left and spent probably twenty bucks on the arcade while we waited for the grownups to pick us up.

Last movie I saw was Matchstick Men. I thought it was great, expecially Sam Rockwell. Oh yeah...I saw Passion of the Christ last night and thought it was fantastic. Why the heck do some people think it's anti-semetic? **sigh**.... Rob:cool: |
