According to Radar Online, Lindsey is suing the other members of Fleetwood mac. http://https://radaronline.com/exclusives/2018/10/fleetwood-mac-guitarist-lindsey-buckingham-sues-band-dropping-tour/ (https://radaronline.com/exclusives/2018/10/fleetwood-mac-guitarist-lindsey-buckingham-sues-band-dropping-tour/)
Lindsey Buckingham Opens a New Window. said he was heartbroken when he was suddenly cut off from Fleetwood Mac Opens a New Window. , and now the former lead guitarist is suing his former bandmates for breach of contract after he was dropped from the band’s North American tour, according to court documents obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com
In a suit filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, Buckingham, 69, said he and other members — Christine McVie, John McVie, Stevie Nicks Opens a New Window. and Mick Fleetwood — signed with Live Nation for a 60-show tour over the next two years, with each member poised to make about $12 to $14 million.
Buckingham claimed everyone in the band wanted to start the tour in August 2018, but he asked to push it to November because he wanted to work on his solo album. Nicks reportedly only wanted to do three shows a week, which meant the band’s North American tour would take even longer Opens a New Window. .

The star said he and the other members agreed to Nicks’ request, and the band managers negotiated with LiveNation for 60 shows in North America, which included Buckingham.
In the affidavit, Buckingham said from December 2017 to January 2018, he also was exploring his options on whether he could embark on a small tour to promote his solo album.
Buckingham claimed he made it clear he considered the Fleetwood Mac tour as a priority and would do “whatever was necessary” to participate on the tour. However, about a week after the band performed at the Jan. 28 MusiCares event, Buckingham said he was suddenly dropped not only from the planned tour, but also from the band he helped create.

Buckingham said he has repeatedly reached out to members of the band. In an email to Christie McVie, Buckingham wrote:
“After forty-three years and the finish line clear in sight, it’s hard to escape the conclusion that for the five of us to splinter apart now would be the wrong thing. Wrong for the beautiful legacy we’ve built together. Wring for our legions of loyal fans who would hate to see the final act be a breakup. Wrong for ourselves, and all that we’ve accomplished and shared together.”
Buckingham said after he sent the email, he also offered to fly to Maui to meet with Nicks and Fleetwood Opens a New Window. , but his offer was rebuffed by both.
Buckingham said while continued to make efforts to keep the band together, the other members allegedly “secretly, and unceremoniously, moved on without him, including hiring contract players to replace Buckingham’s iconic vocals and guitar parts on the live performances of the recordings” he created.

“On information and belied the other Partners, by wrongful excluding Buckingham, have sought to enrich themselves at Buckingham’s expense. Buckingham brings this lawsuit in order to assure his rights to the usurped Fleetwood Mac Partnership opportunity.”
In an interview on the CBS show “This Morning” on April 25, 2018, Fleetwood said, “This team wanted to get out on the road and one of the members did not want to get out on the road for a year.”
Buckingham is suing for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and intentional interference with prospective economic advantage.

In an email to Fleetwood dated February 28, 2018, Buckingham wrote he wondered whether the rift between him and the other band members was possibly caused by attorneys and management.
“In times past, the band has always relied on it’s center, it’s heart and soul to work through difficulties when they arose. But now, those around the edges — attorneys, management — have stepped in and rendered that center silent and impotent. Because of this, the only info and insights I’ve been able to get about things have come from those on the edges. And consequently, I wonder if there hasn’t been an undue amount of intrigue and misinformation thrown into the mix. All of this breaks my heart.”

Irving Azoff will have LB's balls in a jar on his desk by the time this is all over with. Becky has no idea what she's up against. Lindsey will be lucky to play nightclubs when this tour is over. Who do you think planted this story? Frankly I'm surprised he waited this long.

Is Lindsey "without a leg to stand on"?
Has the rest of the band being telling sweet "little lies"?
I guess we will find out when this case goes to court as I assume the band members will be under oath when they share their side.
Did Lindsey just file the lawsuit? If so, why did he wait until the new Mac went out on the road and not when he initially got fired? Or maybe he did.
I'm actually chuckling inside about this although it's really kind of sad. Leave it to me to fall in love with the most drama filled band ever!

At least now we are getting a more complete sense of what went down. If all true, it was probably all underway before MusiCares, meaning this has little to do with smirks and Rhiannon. Also shows the whole band is to blame, including beloved Christine. I’m so glad I’m not spending a penny on this band.

Buckingham claimed everyone in the band wanted to start the tour in August 2018, but he asked to push it to November because he wanted to work on his solo album. Nicks reportedly only wanted to do three shows a week, which meant the band’s North American tour would take even longer.
So does this mean the band was NOT lying about him wanting to delay?
So that it was a reason why he was fired? This must have been on Stevie’s List.

GOOD TRY....Read the RadarOnline article PROPERLY.... even after him asking for a delay and SN wanting only 3 shows a week it says they 'agreed to 60 shows'...so they came to agreement about a delay AND only doing 3 shows a week

And that was also probably where he got the idea for a concurrent solo tour. With only 3 shows a week, that would've given him that little bit of room to do so.

They contractually agreed to a tour after initial discussion about delays and how many shows they would have each week.
The clear point is they all agreed to the tour, so this means whether he asked for a delay or not is irrelevant, he had agreed to whatever timeline there was and was happy as were the others with that.

I don’t think asking for the delay is irrelevant at all given his past history with tours. So the delay becomes a factor in whatever else Stevie was pissed about. That is my point. They did not completely make it up.

Yikes!
"A spokesperson for Fleetwood Mac provided Rolling Stone with a statement on the lawsuit: “It’s impossible for the band to offer comment on a legal complaint they have not seen. It’s fairly standard legal procedure to service the complaint to the parties involved, something that neither Mr. Buckingham nor his legal counsel have done. Which makes one wonder what the true motivations are when servicing press first with a legal complaint before the parties in dispute.”
According to the Rolling Stone article, FM haven't been served with the lawsuit yet. The press knew about the lawsuit before anyone from FM. Seems odd. Seems to be odd timing.

I had not for one said he never brought up the tour delay point, but SN saying that he wanted to delay until Nov 2019 was always far fetched and difficult to believe.
And what you are also saying is that even though he 'asked' for a delay but they all then as a group/band agreed on dates and contractually agreed to tour 60 dates, SN then, because he brought up the possibility of delays during tour planning, has a justified reason to fire him, even though she had also signed this tour contract?

the language of the court docs, if real, gives insight into their business dealings.
“On information and belied the other Partners, by wrongful excluding Buckingham, have sought to enrich themselves at Buckingham’s expense. Buckingham brings this lawsuit in order to assure his rights to the usurped Fleetwood Mac Partnership opportunity.”
Capital "P" Partners indicates they have legal agreements wherein certain parties are named as Partners with defined benefits assigned to being a Partner.
Fleetwood Mac Partnership, capitalized, would be the name of the agreement drafted by all the concerned Partners and their legal and management teams in which who gets what is clearly laid out and binding.
As others have noted, this is BIG business, and this is not just a group of friends traveling around having fun together. It's a corporation, and each of them unto themselves is a corporation of whatever size, with employees and benefits and such (for example, you can bet Karen gets a salary and health benefits and probably contributions to a retirement plan as part of her employment package with Welsh Witch Incorporated (or whatever Stevie's biz division is called). And not just Karen, but whoever else works full time for her.).
This could get beyond ugly.
It also raises the question of how the contracts with Neil and Mike are drafted. Are they Partners too? That would dilute income. Dirty, dirty laundry about to get washed.

he wants the band to make new music, big money or not. he surely doesn't make money off his solo tours.
but if they're gonna screw him, he's apparently decided to hit back where he knows it matters most to them.

The Buckinghams love to pretend that they’re not about money. I think that this was true when Lindsey was a single guy with minimal overhead—living a carefree life. Now, there are childen, a spouse, and investments in the picture. These kids attend posh private schools, are at the dawn of attending expensive, first rate universities, and the younger wife has expensive taste. Moreover, this man is 69 years old. I’m sure he’s planning to set up his children financially after his death. Yes, yes....I know that Lindsey is already quite rich. But you cannot tell me that The Buckingham Family didn’t already have plans for that $14 million dollars that Lindsey stood to earn from this tour.

AWESOME
After that Rolling Stone interview with Lindsey dropped, all I could think was--he needs to sue them.
Lawsuits like this are not necessarily about the money per se--in a large part it's psychological things like getting the public record straight and getting closure, and since suing mostly involves a lot of time and giving half the money to the lawyers, settlement is usually a sufficient substitute for closure.
The petty Lindsey-haters are salivating all over this news because they see it as an opportunity to paint him or his family as going for the money. Very clearly, any cash he may or may not derive from this gambit would be entirely secondary to the primary results of public vindication or closure.
Very clearly, too, he is fighting against the machine aspect of the band here rather than its members per se.

I've noticed this with Stevie fans - commercial success seems to be the determining factor of how good something is. I'm not sure that perspective holds up over time. A lot of great musicians never achieved the commercial success they deserved, and a lot of bad music has achieved chart success.
Stevie bowed to the commercial whims of the 80s, made some terrible albums, and has been coasting by on her image/icon status for some time now.

Nice try, but that is not the demo, that's an early FM take, as it is clearly stated on the Youtube site. As it is, it's proof to the point how much the band contributed to the success of that song, how much production was needed to make this little bit into a song in he first place.

And of course, in case anybody believed the crap that Lindsey, Christine, or Mick talked about last year with the Buckingham/McVie album not ever intending to be a Fleetwood Mac album, seems like as 99.99% of us knew, it sure as hell was planned that way. Stevie Nicks destroyed the last chance to get a proper album from the Rumours five and now she's destroyed the potential to even hear them live again.
As much as I used to love Stevie, bingo. Hit the nail on the head there.

This is what I F'N HATE about this situation - this band and the particular five Rumours era members, all need each other. They're talented on their own, they are superstars together.Together, the 5 fireflies have always been far more than the sum of their parts. Sadly enough, they all tend to forget that.

Well, it has been a while since I’ve posted here and honestly I really haven’t had anything to say that hasn’t already been said to the nth power. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and expressing them is great. But what is maddening to me is when people draw hasty conclusions from barely a data point or two from which to draw such a conclusion. And it seems that this latest saga with our band really just brought out the absolute worst in people; I see you, and we all see you for what you are, and it ain’t pretty. It’s one thing to have a lapse or two in critical thinking skills, but you can see the darkness of the darkest of hearts through the quick rise to hostility expressed around here. If there is one thing that getting old has taught me, it is that most people don’t know s*** and you shouldn’t pass judgement on people or situations that you know nothing about. The bottom line is y’all don’t know these people, you weren’t involved in any discussions regarding Lindsey’s ouster and you just don’t know the motivations of these people even though some of you pretend like you were a fly on the wall when these decisions were made.
I read the long, redundant complaint and what struck me was that although it seemed truthful (based on the dates, events and situations that I have observed myself as a fan), there seemed to be much exaggeration, i.e., overstating his commercial appeal as a member of Fleetwood Mac while neglecting to mention that his commercial appeal as a solo artist is virtually nil. The other thing I noticed is that NOTHING seems to be formalized in writing. It is surprising that this phenomenally successful musical partnership is held together via an “oral” agreement, which in the state of California has some degree of legal enforceability (I learn something new every day!). In a nutshell, one cannot be fired from such a partnership unless there is unanimous agreement OR there is just cause. And LB’s assertion of wrongful termination is based on just cause; however, there was nothing mentioned in the complaint about a potential just cause beyond the solo tour issue. The only formal arrangement the band ever created in the past is when FM formed LLCs to manage tour and merch revenue; it appears that they dissolve the old LLC and form a new LLC for almost every new tour. So apparently LB was excluded from the LLC formed for the 2018-19 tour. Finally, Lindsey NEVER SIGNED A CONTRACT for the 2018-2019 tour. The complaint only mentions that he attended several high-level meetings where the expected compensation amounts were discussed.
Oh, and the complaint states in no uncertain terms that the LB/CM album was supposed to be a Fleetwood Mac album, despite Lindsey’s assertions to the contrary during last year’s press tour. See? St. Lindsey told a bold faced lie. Shocking, amiright?
Anyway my take on it is that LB’s case is on shaky ground. There is no formal Fleetwood Mac, Inc. corporation – just a handshake arrangement between the five band members. He claims that there is no just cause for termination because he caved to the band’s demands about the tour, but that assumes that is indeed the only reason for his termination. He owns no financial interest in the Fleetwood Mac 2018-2019 Tour LLC. Finally, he didn’t officially sign up for the tour. He says he was ready, willing and able and attended many meetings… but ultimately he didn’t put a ring on it for some reason.
The fact that band members have been explicitly instructed not to communicate with Lindsey is telling. I suspect this situation is way, way, way more complicated than Stevie merely feeling disrespected at Radio City. The band fell into formation and moved on very, very quickly, which means that the wheels for Option B must have been in the works for a long, long time. Lindsey provided a very heartfelt, mournful email as Appendix A of his complaint. But where are all the other emails that he purportedly wrote when trying to reach members of the band? Perhaps there are statements in those emails that undermine his case? I suspect that things were already not going well back during the LB/CM promotional tour and the Classic East/West shows. From the July 17, 2017 LA Times:
In a recent interview with Lindsey Buckingham, I asked the Fleetwood Mac frontman about turning his attention from his and Christine McVie's new duets album to Fleetwood Mac's participation in Classic West. First he cringed, as though the mere mention of the two-day festival — which brought Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles, among other veteran rock acts, to Dodger Stadium over the weekend — had embarrassed him. Then he explained that the explicitly nostalgic event wasn't exactly his dream gig, but that he'd agreed to do it in deference to his manager, Irving Azoff, who put the Classic West together.
Buckingham's mantra for the show? "Just close your eyes and take the money."
It is not inconceivable that he probably carried this cavalier, dismissive demeanor off-stage as well and, with good reason, this quote probably ticked off members of the band – especially Stevie and Mick, who have been arguably Fleetwood Mac’s biggest cheerleaders. Who knows what other passive or overt gestures of aggression Lindsey exhibited around those shows? So when discussions around the new tour became tense over the solo tour dates in December 2017, I wouldn’t have been surprised if he burned some bridges or said some very insulting things (like in the LA Times interview), which could have led them to conclude that enough was enough. There is a pattern of passive aggressive behavior from Lindsey, which may have escalated to a rolling boil during those meetings and then finally the lid blew off the pot at Radio City with those digs at Stevie.
I can see why people attribute this turn of events solely to Stevie. But I also know what it’s like to have to work alongside someone who does not respect you or your work (as evidenced by Lindsey’s supposed casual dismissal of Stevie’s Bella Donna success). And to make matters extremely messy, they are exes who spent the last 40 years keeping score on each other, which has to lead to resentment – his resentment over Stevie’s success (as evidenced by his complaint that “Rhiannon” was the introduction song) which he never enjoyed himself and her resentment over his life of domestic bliss which she never enjoyed herself. I believe Lindsey when he says he doesn’t know why he was fired; some people are just not that self-aware. But I also believe Stevie when she says that she wants the remaining years of her career to be joyful. And I suspect Lindsey also cast an increasing shadow on the rest of the band as he badmouthed the FM brand as a politically charged nostalgia act run by managers and agents. Anyway, I don’t know, and nobody outside of Fleetwood Mac, Inc. really knows what actually went down. But based on the pattern of his behavior, especially all this “big machine, little machine crap he’s been saying for years and his apparent ingratefulness (again, read quote above), I wasn’t terribly shocked by the news that he was finally terminated after Radio City. It takes a single match to burn a house down.
Ultimately, these are people who have stuck together through the years and they have created an amazing body of work throughout the various incarnations and solo endeavors. As far as I am concerned, everything else is just icing on the cake at this point and they've earned the right to do whatever they have to do to find their happiness in the winter of their lives. Heartbreak of the moment is not endless. While I wish the Rumours 5 would have stayed together, my desire does not trump their happiness as people. I am grateful to Stevie, Christine, Lindsey, Mick and John and the other members (except Bekka and Dave Mason - y'all kinda ruined it for me) for their artistry and the joy they've given me and I am totally on board for where the saga heads next.
Exactly what I said. A tiny group of people in the entire world clustered together on one website. How many people, in real life like those songs? Almost none.
I mean, you're right, the song Tusk has nothing on Welcome to the Room, Sara, or Silver Girl.
Besides, haven't Stevie and Chris both been on record as praising the Tusk album? Are they simply excluding Lindsey's songs or are they too part of a small cluster of people?
This argument is dumb.

If this were 1987, maybe. But it isn’t. I fear that there’s not enough time left to mend fences even if they wanted to. That is what makes it all the more sad.

Your comment about him lying about Buckingham McVie is bit much. When they were making the album everyone from FM said it was a FM and made comments about SN and waiting for her to contribute. Then when it came out they lied (Meaning both LB and CM) because IMO they didn't wan't to piss off SN.
As for the comments about the Classic Shows maybe he shouldn't have said those things but I lost some respect for both them and The Eagles for performing alongside acts like Earth Wind and Fire, Steely Dan, and Journey. None of those acts are IMO on the same level as FM or the Eagles in terms of popularity today. When those acts tour they can't play arenas on their own. They play theaters, Casinos etc. Only if they tour with other nostalgia acts do they get to play arenas or stadiums or amphitheaters etc. FM kind of sold out
doing a show like that just to get a quick fat paycheck and he saw it for what it was.
Lindsey is certainly not a major draw for his solo shows but so what? He has respect in the industry for his talents. SN chased the 80's sound and got hits he chose to not chase top 40 radio and paid the price for it.
At the end of the day they should have worked things out instead of acting like spoiled brats and that goes for all of them.

Yeah, after all of this, they simply couldn't just go back to their shtick. And at 70+ years old, why would they want to? This is likely the end. That MusicCares performance was the last one.
Great post! A very interesting read. I have very similar thoughts and feelings to almost everything you have stated here.

Exactly what I said. A tiny group of people in the entire world clustered together on one website. How many people, in real life like those songs? Almost none.
Sorry, I'm a huge fan of Stevie's' music and I love those two songs, all my family and friends who've had my musical tastes forced into their ears for decades even like most of Lindsey's Fleetwood Mac stuff. "Almost none" ... don't think that's right.

I'm sitting here enjoying my cup of coffee watching the local news - my morning ritual. And the story about Lindsey suing Fleetwood Mac came up. My local news in small town Missouri was talking about it - this is getting to be too much. I really don't have the energy to care anymore about this continued drama. So I think today I will kick back and listen to Lindsey's Anthology from front to back which I'm loving, and then listen to Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, Tusk, Mirage and Tango in the Night. And yes I will buy the new Fleetwood Mac 50 Years Don't Stop compilation and listen to it repeatedly.
I fell in love with Fleetwood Mac on Christmas night in 1976 when my sister gave me the "Fleetwood Mac' album - I sat in my room with the album cover, headphones on, listening to this record over and over and just fell in love. One of my best Christmas presents.
This whole situation just really makes me sad. But in reality, this pales with all the other bigger issues going on in this crazy world.
So I will choose to focus on the music that this fantastic band created, knowing that I will never see the Five perform as a band again. And that's ok. It's only rock and roll - too bad Fleetwood Mac made it about so much more.

Hmm... who might be encouraging Lindsey to sue Fleetwood Mac? Now I'm not sayin' she's a gold digger...
It actually gives great insight to how much they're getting per show per member. Mick, Stevie and Chris getting the lions share and Neil and Mike are hired guns, aka contract players, getting far less. Still, not a bad amount of $$ for a 50 show tour.

Yes. Someone remarked in one of these threads (before the Complaint appeared) that they thought that Mick and John owned Fleetwood Mac and that the rest of the Rumours Five were employees. The Complaint shows this not to be the case; instead, I think it's safe to assume that Lindsey never would have agreed to join the band in 1974/1975 as a hired gun, so they would have joined as full creative members with a say in the band's direction; whereas I assume the likes of Billy Burnette were probably contract hires, at least for the Tango tour. Perhaps it's a clause in the contracts for Neil and Mike that there is an option to become full members if and when this tour proves a success.

Lots of empty seats in Chicago last weekend. Most I have ever seen at a FM Tour.
Lawsuits are great, as the Complaint and subsequent discovery like depositions, contracts, agreements, incorporations, , now all public, will expose the inner workings better than any book ever could.

I just wanted to add that in Billy Burnette's book, he said he and Rick were formally added to FM by Mick, John, Christine, and Stevie. Not sure exactly what that means, but the fact they all recorded Behind the Mask also suggests they were, in fact, full members. So you could be right that they were contracted for the Tango tour, but became full members during or shortly after said tour.

What a great post, Keith. I agree with everything you said except for two points- 1) I don't think I'll be buying the new compilation. But it's not out of protest or anything like that, it's just without either new material or outtakes, I don't feel the need and 2) I actually think that even with this lawsuit, there could still be a reunion someday. Hey, stranger things have happened. I'm not banking on it, but then again, I never would have thought FM would reunite back in 1996, and they not only reunited... they came back with a vengeance. So with these folks, anything is possible.
Also, the Go-Gos had a similar lawsuit when 4 of the members fired one of the members right before their farewell tour. She sued, it got ugly, they settled, and then a year later they reunited for a handful of tour dates. Money makes the world go round, it would seem, and as this lawsuit has revealed, FM and Lindsey are no different or better than anyone else when it comes to the almighty dollar :(

Maybe outside the potential replacement of John there was little in the filling that was not known or reasonably suspected to be known by people who have been following along. However to the much larger world this is new information that mostly contradicts the public narrative the band had try to shape.
Unlike a previous poster, in my opinion there are parts of this case that have significant chance of sustaining under sympathetic to the aggrieved California law. Particularly, if there are written communications from Live Nation about potential earnings from the tour and they are dated prior to his termination. Additionally, if it can be documented that Buckingham paid in capital to the benefit of the partnership then he will show strong a right to recovery and additional remedy.
The band will move for a summary judgment to dismiss, but that burden is high, so some to much of the case will survive until such time a settlement is reached.
You will see a public chipping away at Buckingham. Probably mostly off the record, difficult to prove, but reasonably accurate, even if framed to paint him in the worst possible light. This will be done to silence him through embarrassment and bring him and his attorneys to a quiet settlement.
Remember this, Lindsey has his version of the truth. Fleetwood Mac and in particular Stevie have created an insular word where they work hard to control the narrative and that narrative real or imagined is their reinforced truth. I can’t believe all but the most delusioned didn’t expect litigation to happen. You don’t terminate a partner from a 9 figure entity with zero compensation and expect them go quietly crying into the night.
Notably absent in this filing is a reference to Azoff. If he was simultaneously representing Buckingham individually and Fleetwood Mac collectively that is whole other conflict interest and exposure to damages that may have already been addressed and settled.
A shame that this will be the parting snapshot of one the great bands of our time.

According to Mick's first book, when $tevie and Lindsey first joined, they were given a salary of $200/ week. After a short time, they realized that things were really clicking, then they were given full member status.

Yes, thanks for mentioning that. And it's because not only were the band trialling FM (particularly the compatability with Christine) but BN were trialling the band (from Lindsey's perspective anyway). Who knows how resigned Stevie may have been to accepting that status on a longer term basis, but for Lindsey it would have been anathema.

I think it’s meant to encompass anyone else who could potentially been found to be involved but not in such an outward/obvious way as the band members. I am assuming it means anyone associated with the band collectively or in the employment of the individual members

In case anyone here hasn’t seen the update in the other thread, FM has responded again. Their spokesperson said “Fleetwood Mac strongly disputes the allegations presented in Mr. Buckingham’s complaint and looks forward to their day in court.” They have retained Dan Petrocelli, a very well known entertainment attorney who represented the Eagles in Don Felder’s suit (but is probably best known for representing the Goldmans in their successful civil suit against OJ).
Doesn’t sound like they’re backing down or considering a settlement.

I can't wait for discovery in this case. To see or hear all the financials ( this is about $$ after all). Depositions, interrogatories, Requests for Admissions. You'll see the sad underbelly of the band once the discovery becomes public.
By the way, case progression typically goes like this: Suit filed. Motion(s) to Dismiss for failure to state cause of action. Discovery. Motion for Summary Judgment. Trial. Verdict. Appeal. You're talking a long time here.
This will really put a crimp in the current tour . I'll bet the pre-concert & travel discussion is just delicious. How many times can we hear the word "That F***ing Lindsey........

It's nice to see you here again and your post is excellent.

You're right. I guess Lindsey will now be nominated for the RRHOF.
:laugh::laugh: Bless him, he won't. These are the consequences of alienating almost everyone you come in contact with.

That's why FM and The Eagles were headliners.

Whew, Kristen can still afford to get the diamond studded name plates for the stalls at the horse farm. Thank goodness for small blessings...
Maybe even build another $20 million spec house...

Well...on the upside, at least Lindsey is eligible for unemployment compensation.d
Actually Lindsey would have to file and the state of California would have to rule if he was fired for just cause.

Nope just a little humor like the unemployment comment above it. Should I have called someone a farm animal name, switched out currency symbols for the letters in a name or perhaps made a sweeping statement about how childbirth would have kept someone from being bitter? I can't keep straight who and what we are allowed to joke about.
Boom! :laugh::wavey:

I just had this vision of David as Jackie Gleason.
Jackie Gleason was obsessed with aliens. He said when LBJ was president that he showed him some.

Agreed. I've hated that SH*T since Mirage! What kind of idiots lap up that inane crap?
I was a sucker for it back when the two of them did that "Say Goodbye" song at his concert.
Other than that, I was more invested in the drama of watching each member compete with the magnificent image of his or her younger self. (My judicial opinion is that they all lost that battle on aesthetic grounds.)
Speaking of the views Lindsey aired of the Classic West shows and about the alleged fallout on the rest of the band and its booking agents and lawyers, isn't it the most fundamental aspect of rock and roll that it rejects (or pretends to reject) conservatism and corporatism? An entire punk and new wave movement grew out of the critique of corporate AOR rock that ossified radio in the 1970s. Lindsey was fired up about that at the time! This is nothing new for him, God only knows. He's been pushing back at the "safe" choices (like the idea of a Rumours II) for fifty years! If the band and its lawyers aren't used to that by now, they're a bunch of numskulls.
Besides, has anyone ever actually demonstrated that rock music's anti-corporate critique has any effect on tickets or on revenue? That's a tenuous, dubious connection somebody's trying to draw. You could just as easily argue (and more believably) that one of the commercial draws of Fleetwood Mac has always been the tension between its commercially safe side and its experimental, inventive side. The rock press has made that clear about the band forever.
Shall we start a list of rockers who have been vocally dismissive of rock-as-business? It would stretch from here to the moon, and would include some of the most popular performers of all time.

Yes but none of them were manged by Irving Azoff. The Eagles were a bunch of malcontents but they loved money. I confused though. Is Azoff still managing Lindsey or did they get a divorce too?

The kind of people who believe that £ind$€¥ and $tevie still had something other than money between them. Not too different than people who believe that FM ONLY fired
£ind$€¥ because $tevie wanted him gone.
