I saw Richard's post. Whether he has inside info or it's just his thoughts, it sounds like the problem was indeed Stevie and Lindsey and Stevie exerted her power over Lindsey and won. What a shame. I've lost some love I had for Stevie over this.

Stevie has ruined everything I thought Fleetwood Mac meant to me ... and Christine went along with it!

Who thinks the band has the time or effort to reunite again after a 2 year world tour? Few people even dream that. This is not 1987 where there was a new beginning and new music. This is one final tour which makes it silly to replace Lindsey at this point.
Christine barely can play and she is losing her voice. John just got over cancer for what we hope is forever. Stevie the youngest just turned 70.

What we had always thought....Stevie is to blame....and Richard's tweet just makes it more real and still so heartbreaking to me.
Now where's SugarMouse when we need him/her? Still think LB's departure is due to him refusing to tour this year?! :wavey:

I doubt it's going to be a two year tour if ticket sales are an indication of how many fans are feeling right now. I would be surprised if this becomes a global tour.

I don't think Richard "knows" anything. To me I read the tweet as him offering his perspective on what he thinks happened. But I could be totally wrong and maybe he does know.
Either way, I don't think anyone seriously believed this was all about a touring conflict and that there's still a chance for a reunion.

Good. Time's wasting for Lindsey to spread his wings and fly. It's really a blessing in disguise. Thanks Stevie for setting him free. Hope it's as good for you as it is for us. Now we can all move on.

Oh how I wish you were right. But that is not true. Ticket sales are pretty good. I just checked Ticketmaster and each arena is about 3/4 sold. That is excellent considering the tour does not even start for many months. In addition, the prices are higher than On With The Show. The prices are ridiculous IMHO. But all that means is they will make a fortune on this tour.

I don’t want to get into some drawn out debate, but I can tell you that your ticket sale information is flat out wrong. Boston, St Louis, San Jose, Tulsa, are all under 60% sold and even less when you learn secondary market makes up 25% of the to date house sale.
Also the majority (70-80%) of legacy bands’ arena ticket sales happen within first 10 days of general on sale date.
Airplay, popular new music, new streaming are what impact late sales. Legacy bands don’t have those attributes.

He very well may be right. However, the man is no longer a "Fleetwood Mac insider," so I'm not sure we should present what he himself characterizes as nothing more than his "opinion" as the definitive statement on the matter.
Even if he had heard it from Lindsey's own lips, though, things change and one should never say never.
But... I must admit... the odds are not good.
Still, I cling to my shred of hope.

This is all Richard's opinion on the subject, because like he said, everybody was asking about it. I don't think he has actual info.
Sadly, I think Lindsey wants a final chapter with this four a**holes, because he has spent most of his life with them and probably doesn't want anymore bad blood between them.
What he wants and what will happen are two different things. Stevie will never allow it, unless Mick convinces her, and that will only happen if this tour fail miserably. Even though ticket sales are bad, they're not that bad to call Lindsey for help. But I also think they won't add another leg.

If you're looking at Ticketmaster then I think you probably got the arena map mixed up. The blue sections are the still available, not the sold. At least at the venues where I've been checking, the sales have not changed much since the beginning. Well over half is still available.

Because I don’t need to. I pointed out a while ago that when given the choice between Peter Green, his mentor and hero, and money, Mick went with money. It’s nothing new. I’ve also said many times over two decades that I’ve not been a fan of Stevie since 1991. And, I’ve said all five do it for the bag of money, however, Lindsey is the one who actually said it.

Some say it with words, others say it with actions. The latter doesn't make it less true.
Stevie also said many times that she chose her musical connection with Lindsey over her happiness. In other words, she chose to stay with him because she knew he was her ticket to fame and money. No matter how many poetry you put in what you say, it still means the same.

Those are different situations. With what's happened here, I don't think Lindsey would come back regardless of how much money he could make off it and they wouldn't invite him back regardless of how much they could make off it. Too much damage was done here. Unless a miracle were to happen I don't think there's any going back from this, regardless of money.

Exactly. I'm sure some shows are selling fine but as a whole this is hands down the worst selling tour (so far) they've had in a long, long time. The LA Forum isn't even close to being sold out. And trust me, for that venue, that is RARE.

Lindsey deserves to be paid well, as do they all, and I have no doubt that money is a consideration. However, I think he cares about the legacy, too... perhaps moreso.
If someone like SteveMacD wishes to believe he does absolutely everything involved with Fleetwood Mac solely because of the money simply because in one interview he talked about doing one of those stupid festival shows for the money, that is his right.
I think such an oversimplification of a man's involvement with a group that has defined his life for decades shows a complete lack of consideration of one very important aspect: the heart is more complex than that.
Stevie also said many times that she chose her musical connection with Lindsey over her happiness. In other words, she chose to stay with him because she knew he was her ticket to fame and money. No matter how many poetry you put in what you say, it still means the same.
I don't think Stevie used Lindsey like that, just as a "ticket" and nothing more. Stevie has said many times that she loved Lindsey, that they were like a married couple. I do think there were times when she thought about leaving him, remembered the music and stayed.... but it wasn't JUST about that. They could have worked together as platonic partners, after all. Like SteveMacD, I think you are oversimplifying the complexities of the heart.

I'm just quoting her, that's all. She said she chose her musical connection with Lindsey over her happiness. So she was unhappy but hey, the "musical connection" was so great she chose to suffer in silence! No one does that unless they know something good will come out of it.
She also said she loved him "for the right reasons". That was directed at Kristen, but all I know is that she's still by his side when all she has done recently for Lindsey was firing him.
I find it very hard to believe she fired him just because she loves him.

Out of curiosity, I did a little sampling - with a few exceptions like Chicago, NYC, and Phoenix, sales seem pretty to be pretty much what John Run was talking about... except for the South. They seem to be selling well in the Deep South, for the most part. Maybe it's because so many big acts only come to Atlanta and Nashville, and therefore when Fleetwood Mac does come to places like Birmingham and NOLA, it's going to sell well regardless.

Surely most would agree that this is like being in 1987 and trying to talk about the potential for a Dance reunion in 1997. It's simply "too soon" to address the probabilities of various hypotheticals. Look what happened between 1987 and 1997--playing for POTUS, addiction turnarounds... the world changes, the individuals change (somewhat), so anything could happen.
On the question of whether some sort of reunion/resolution between LB and FM/SN should be something that eventually happens--my answer would be: whatever they (particularly Lindsey) can live with. If circumstances conspire and he deigns to reconnect with them again because that would ultimately be easier for him to live with than carrying around a grudge, then good for him. There's the view that the others are already suffering some solid punishment for their decision (squirming in the awkward interviews, apparently floundering to fill arenas, enduring fan backlash).

Whilst she may have said she stayed with LB longer than she wished due to their musical connection, it's not fair to assume she never loved him at all. There's clear evidence and other interviews she has given that supports this.
I don't think she loves him now and that is certainly not the reason I think she went out and fired him...more likely jealousy, resentment, grief over TP, selfishness, narcissism to name a few

Ticket sales are below expectations for many cities regardless of date or region. There are exceptions, such as Chicago, New Orleans, etc. However, generally this is trending to not be a disaster, all the guarantees will be met, no one will lose big, but there will be no incentive to add 2nd dates, or 2nd or 3rd routings / legs like On With the show or Say You Will.

I'd like to briefly bring Christine into this discussion.
Although I'm disappointed in her staying with Mick and Fleetsham Mac, I understand why she made the choice. Mick and John have been part of her life since she was in her early 20s. Mick, for all his shortcomings, remained her friend during her retirement, and was the one who helped her get on board that first airplane flight when she came out of retirement. This is the band in which she belongs. I am sure she is not happy that Lindsey, her creative partner and friend, is gone. But she is probably thinking the same that many on this board have expressed: that she is not getting any younger, and if she wants one last crack at the mega-touring experience, this is it.
All that being said, what I want out of this debacle is for Christine and Lindsey to work together again after the Sham tour is over. I am hoping for a BuckVie II, in other words. I honestly do not want a reunion of the five fireflies. When Stevie got Lindsey fired, she burned that bridge down to the ground.

Well said. I harbor no ill will towards Christine. I would love to see BuckVie II. For that matter, I would love to see Lindsey form his own band. Not just a solo thing with session musicians, but a real live band. He's got enough years left in him to be a relevant creative force. The others have been relegated to elevator music with their new incarnation.

Louisville... wow. Yikes. There are far more like that than the few exceptions, and I appreciate your expertise.
While I'm unsurprised they're not facing disaster - there are still many people who want to hear Fleetwood Mac no matter what - I must admit I take satisfaction from their underperformance. Serves them right, I say.
I hope Stevie feels embarrassment about this (I doubt she cares too much about the money, as she has plenty, and a shorter tour just means she can dance around her apartment sooner). She doesn't like playing to smaller crowds - hence all these joint tours she does so she can still play arenas. This will still be a large crowd, but she will see a lot of empty seats at a lot of shows. She won't like that.
Plus, I really do feel like Stevie might find she misses the drama onstage she had with Lindsey. I can't imagine it will be nearly as much fun to perform with someone she barely knows (Finn) and she can't sing to Mike Campbell as if he were a former lover. That would look ridiculous. No more "on stage, we are in love again" moments. No "Without You" reminiscing. It's just going to feel like a solo show with some guests for her (three guests from FM, one guest from Crowded House, one guest from the Heartbreakers). It will not feel like anything special. Thus, I hope if they do another tour, she will give in and allow Mick to call Lindsey.
Again, I realize my chances are slim.

Well I guess the evidence is how friends and family describe their love and relationship in the early days and what they have both themselves said in interviews. Apparently button lip's "evidence" is an interview where she says something about choosing to be unhappy or whatever, but that discounts the gazillion interviews where she talks about loving him!
I took a look at inherownwords.com and found these:
"We tangle a lot, but we love each other ~ we'll always love each other. He and I will never get away from the fact that we were as one for so many years."
~Stevie Nicks, Mademoiselle, August 1982
"Lindsey and I were as close to married as I'll probably ever be. I took care of him, I cooked for him, I ironed his jeans, I embroidered stars and moons on them, I adored him, I took care of him."
~Stevie Nicks, MTV 1515, 1998
"You know, when Lindsey and I go back and forth on the songs that were written between the two of us, for that moment, we are back in love again."
~Stevie Nicks, BAM Magazine, August 22, 1997
So, if you're going to swear by her words in one interview, you can't ignore her words in other interviews.... by the way, buttonlip, could you post the exact quote in context? Stevie often talks about how tumultuous their relationship was, and that there were often periods of unhappiness while she was with him. I'm wondering if the quote refers to that more than a declaration that she never felt an iota of love for Lindsey.
Of course, Stevie may have completely destroyed their relationship now, but that doesn't mean it never existed.

I think a lot of people misinterpret what Stevie has said about the song Landslide and her "staying" despite her "unhappiness". It wasn't so much about love or feelings as it was about the fact that their relationship was very toxic and troubled and considering the fact that Lindsey took all their stuff and left her in Aspen once, that unhappiness wasn't one sided. And they were poor and struggling and having this difficult relationship, most people would've separated or at least moved back home. But she-- and he too-- stuck it out because of what they had together. They didn't even break up until a year after they joined Fleetwood Mac and became stable. Stevie said when they started making money she moved out and bought her own apartment and then had Lindsey move in with her a little while after.

Early on, I was hoping for a reunion of sorts, but it certainly doesn't look like it will ever happen. "Divided" is probably best for all of them at this point.
Now, moving forward, I'd love to see Lindsey get out and do some shows when he's ready - alone or with others - just for the fun of it.
Then, after the FM' tour is over, a reunion with Christine. Maybe a short acoustic tour, whatever they want, focusing on their combined solo careers. I'm thinking a largely acoustic show might be more supportive of both their voices. The acoustic version of "Friend" with Christine on vocals and Lindsey on guitar would be awesome.

Like I said, I couldn't care less how many times she said in the past she loved him. You're just proving my point with all these quotes:
"We'll always love each other" Yeah, right, because that's what you do when you love someone forever.... you make him fired....
In the Crystal Visions DVD when she's talking about Sorcerer, she said that she chose her musical connections with Lindsey over her happiness. I'm sure you can find it on YT. She also said something similar before Landslide at the Columbus show last year. Again, YT.
She could have loved him once, but she totally destroyed everthing now (and there's no "may", she did it, even his wife is saying it). And that family and friends that used to love her are now disgusted by her behavior. I don't think any of you need my "evidence" on that matter.
You don't just wake up and plot a revenge. It takes time.

The Stevie and LB love story reminds me of many of the "shallow" people I know. We ALLLLL know the type. they are the super attractive couple that posts selfies on Instagram and Facebook ALL the time. They are totally incompatible, but they are together because they are gorgeous. They don't even like each other. They think they are "in love" but they don't know what real love is. They only go together because She was hot and he was hot and it was convenient to them both. Soon as they were famous it was OVER. They no longer needed each other.
Flash forward to 1997. Stevie and LB had Humbled a bit, and were "in love" again. But it was because they needed each other. Soon as The Dance tour was over, and LB got someone knocked up, they were over again. If there was ever a time for a Final Rumours 5 album it was 1998 directly after The Dance. But Stevie was "Back" and had to tour again off tail end of the Dance tour and promote herself. She was going backwards back to her Selfish-self.

I can’t blame Stevie for striking while the iron was hot. Lindsey was indecisive about how he wanted to release his songs and was probably enjoying fatherhood, while Christine had just retired. The band was in a pretty fluid spot.

Totally agree with you, she has totally destroyed everything now and as KB has just stated SNs actions are very 'cruel'
But to debate that she 'could have loved him once' is a bit unfair.
Her love for him though was over 40 years ago, it has clearly now turned to hate.

Good point.

Exactly, will she ever wake up one day and ask for forgiveness, I doubt it. But I hope she does, she needs to be accountable.

Kristen joined in on the discussion in the comments (which was about Lindsey asking to delay the tour) to plainly state that he didn't ask for "any such delay" and that ironically the tour is now starting later than it would have. She posted another comment calling what happened the "cruelest move" she's ever seen and Lindsey didn't do anything to deserve it. Someone else confirms this and says that before any of this drama got started, Mick had told them the tour would start in August.

It's not an "either/or" thing. They could have avoided openly admitting anything and at the same time avoided bald-faced lying. A generic, vague "creative differences" line would have done the trick.
Instead, they went to the trouble of inventing an elaborate lie and dedicated themselves to selling it in their interviews. They sat there with straight faces and talked about how unreasonable Lindsey's demands for a delay were, knowing full well he never made such demands. That is beyond the pale. It makes me sick.

SM's "claim" was people in LB's "inner circle" (producers, etc) claimed this, that and the other thing (namely the alleged 1 year delay)...... This was the same inner circle that had the new band in the studio too--Chris had a song, Stevie had a song and Neil had a song........

Stevie plays the drama because she knows it sells-- the journos love it and the shippers love it. It's been fake forever.
I prefer to take the words of Stevie's "truth teller" Tom Petty who said, "They love each other but man they really, really hate each other."

Absolutely, this could have been handled so much better. If they had any respect for fans they could have been more honest and basically summed it up as creative differences.
Despite being the instigator of this, SN then makes up a pathetic story so she doesn't look like the cruel nasty cow to her devoted fans, but then the truth comes out and she ends up looking far worse and loses thousands more fans as a result. Karma's a bitch.

seeds_we_sow@jgrt35 well that's just the point, he didn't do anything beyond asking for a 1yr tour delay or asking to do his own solo tour at the same time so that a delay wouldn't be needed. Stevie just decided she wanted him out of her life and that meant out of the band. That's why so many fans have turned away from the band, and why so many Stevie fans have turned away from Stevie.
kbchrush@seeds_we_sow he didn’t ask for any such delay. Ironically, they are starting later now than what they had planned with Lindsey.

I really hope whoever interviews them next doesn't lob a bunch of softballs at them like the last guy did.--I hope someone actually calls them out on this--force them to speak the truth, even if it paints someone in a bad light. I know they are likely going to say "No questions about Lindsey" but I really don't think they can. The story here really is they sacked their lead guitarist right before what may be their farewell tour (although "An Evening with Fleetwood Mac" is an isht name for a final tour--just sayin') There really is no story in ANOTHER sort of greatest hits tour, albeit throwing some curveballs around here and there (Black Magic Woman, World IS Turning, Don't Dream it's Over, etc) I think we can agree most of what they play will be the same old stuff. The problem with these talk show interviews is that if the interviewers don't "play nice" then Fleetwood Mac can walk off and they don't have their story. They want FM on their program as much as FM wants the promotion. Now, if they go on 60 minutes maybe...

It's a fine line they cross here now---let me preface this by saying I am not a lawyer, but I would think to continue with the story, "he asked for the delay", when he didn't, we are bordering on slander or defamation of character. I could not hold my tongue if there were people out there saying untrue things about me. Kristen's comments definitely make things more interesting that for sure, albeit just confirming what everyone knows. The press for this just did get a bit more interesting....And I wonder if "the Lie" is the reason Mick hesitated to use the word fire.

Or, and this is just an idea, but maybe Lindsey could settle all this speculation by telling why he was fired. Perhaps he would be willing to talk to TMZ.
And no, his wife doesn't count. Mick's wife isn't giving quotes on the internet, but even if she was, I'd pay as much attention to them as I do quotes from Lindsey's wife. That is, I could not care less what Lindsey's wife has to say about his firing, but I would very much pay attention to what Lindsey had to say.
Lindsey could easily clear all this up... but we get crickets, instead. Instead of calling FM out for "lying" about the real reason Lindsey was fired, why not call Lindsey out on his silence?
I can hear the answer already- "Lindsey's taking the high road." BS. Telling the truth about why he was fired is not badmouthing FM. I really find it interesting that he hasn't shared his story, but no one else besides me thinks it's odd he's stayed silent.

Lindsey could easily clear all this up... but we get crickets, instead. Instead of calling FM out for "lying" about the real reason Lindsey was fired, why not call Lindsey out on his silence?
Because he’s still legally a member? It benefits noone to say he was fired.

I can hear the answer already- "Lindsey's taking the high road." BS. Telling the truth about why he was fired is not badmouthing FM. I really find it interesting that he hasn't shared his story, but no one else besides me thinks it's odd he's stayed silent.
There's no reason you should think Lindsey not talking is odd. He never talks about anything to the press like that. I've said this before a billion times and I'll say it again, Lindsey has hardly ever talked to the press to make a statement about anything at all. This isn't any different. Whenever he starts doing press for his own project, whatever that is, that's probably when we'll get to hear from his own mouth about what happened. Until then, the odds of him putting out a statement are very low, as that's just not something he's ever done. It's not about the high road or anything, it's just that that's not his style when it comes to press. We never heard his story of what really made him jump ship after Tango until YEARS later.
And I also don't understand why you wouldn't take his wife's comments seriously. She's his WIFE. She's not even offering a "perspective" in this particular case, she's literally saying that what the band said is not true. That's not a story or an argument she's making, it's a claim about facts. When someone as close to Lindsey as his own wife of 20 years says that he did not ask for the delay that the band claims he asked for, that's a pretty big deal. And prior to this, she's never engaged in conversations like that ever. So the fact that she's doing this now is a sign of how affected she is by what's gone on and she has all the right to want to correct some facts, if the biggest platform she does that on is instagram then so be it.

IA abut she was only responding to someone's comment, where they were talking about Lindsey asking to delay the tour. Either way, that's a pretty big thing to finally have confirmed from someone close to Lindsey. We'll probably hear more about what happened as time goes on, maybe when Lindsey starts doing press for his tour/album/whatever he does or from other places.

Or she wasn't there and is going by what Lindsey said. Kind of like what any other spouse would do. I didn't know Mick was divorced (again), but if he was still married and his wife tweeted something that supported her husband's POV, I wouldn't take her comments as inside knowledge. I mean, does anyone really expect KB to tweet "yeah, Lindsey wanted to tour the same time as the band, and so they fired him?" Or "Lindsey wanted to postpone the FM tour a year so the band fired him?" Of course not.
Now, if Lindsey shared his story, that would be the best thing to do. Even if he tweeted him himself, if he doesn't want to do press.

Lindsey doesn't have to do a bunch of press. He could tweet his story. His wife clearly uses social media, so she could help him share his story on social media, unfiltered.
Why don't I take his wife's comments seriously? For the same reason you gave- "She's his WIFE!" I absolutely understand she would take Lindsey's side. Just like if Stevie's brother tweeted support for FM firing Lindsey, everyone would say "He's her BROTHER!" Of course he's going to support Stevie.
I am not trying to change anyone's mind here, believe me. I just think Lindsey should let the fans know what's going on. The fact that he isn't is very telling to me. FM says on TV Lindsey was fired because he wanted to delay the tour, and he doesn't respond, but his wife comments on social media that it's not true or unfair. Alright then, how about clearing it up, Lindsey?

Lindsey doesn't have social media. His wife even said in her "main" instagram post about the whole thing that she thinks he should tell his story in his words when he's ready. Which he probably will eventually, but that won't happen until he actually is in a position to start talking about something. His wife is allowed to say what she wants to say but she can't make him tell his story if he doesn't want to yet.
And I couldn't disagree more. What she's saying isn't a matter of sides. It's very literally a "that's not true" claim. And considering the fact that this situation probably didn't happen immediately, it was probably drawn out for a bit and developed over some time, it's not really a matter of Lindsey coming home one day saying he got fired out of the blue and "she just knows what Lindsey told her". She's someone who would know what happened, who would be privy to how the situation developed. I honestly think it's a bit silly that people would be doubtful over what she says considering that she's as close to Lindsey as a person can get. Not to mention the fact that what she's confirmed only further agrees with the other little pieces of information we've gotten of tidbits from Rick Turner, Federico Poll, that video of Lindsey himself and all the other people who've claimed that the story the band told isn't accurate.

Yet, nobody ever says “fired.”
Mick said “fired” was “too strong a word” and Lindsey called it “an involuntary hiatus” from the band. Even the initial press release only said Lindsey wouldn’t be performing on the upcoming tour.
There’s a reason for that. Whether or not Lindsey ever performs with them again is another issue. But, legally, I think he’s still a member of the band and will get a little money from the upcoming tour.

I don't understand why more people aren't expressing disappointment by Lindsey's silence. In my view, he could easily clear this whole thing up by sharing what happened. The band gives very public interviews on TV, radio, and print, but Lindsey says nothing. However, his wife makes comments on social media, essentially calling the band liars, but doesn't explain what really happened. I would think any FM fan, but perhaps especially Lindsey's fans, would like for Lindsey to share his story. I don't think that's unreasonable :sorry:
I'm surprised more people don't seem to want to hear directly from Lindsey, even if it's just on social media via his wife.

The band is promoting their next tour, like any other band, they didn't sit with a reporter to talk especifically about Lindsey's firing. And when they did they lied and they shared fake tears. It was tasteless. So, yeah, Lindsey's current silence seems better.

That interview with Anthony Mason was painful to watch. Probably more painful to have actually been the ones being interviewed though. Christine bore a hole into her fingernails trying to be anywhere but where she actually was. (I think I am in the minority here, but I don't think she should be absolved from her part in this debacle) John looked uncomfortable, and even Stevie was off her game. Mick the master manipulator seemed perfectly at home though....which is likely another topic althogether. It's clear in that interview they were lying thru their capped teeth. ALL OF THEM. The SiriusXM interview further cemented the pinocchio like status of this bunch. We all know the band lied. The truth will come out at some point, it always does with this group--albeit in some convoluted way. I would love to hear from Lindsey--but on his terms, when he's ready. And when he can. I am curious to know if the band really anticipated this level of backlash. Hell, even Neil Finn' s son said in an interview, "Lindsey's fans aren't blaming you" I still wouldn't want to get up there and have to sing his songs. His "GYOW" will fail. And I think he knows that. But he has to sing it, because Mick said it needs to end every concert. Neil and Mike were put in a no win situation with this bunch. And I feel badly for them for it. This is a lose lose situation because a bunch of egomaniacs. I know Richard Dashut said the legacy is in tact, but I actually think it's tarnished here---and tarnished beyond repair.

Stevie is the only one who said Lindsey wanted to delay the tour, which most of us knew wasn’t true. Show me where anyone else confirmed what she said.
As for Mick, where did he publicly throw Lindsey under the bus? All he said was that there was muscle memory in dealing with Lindsey and that it was like a divorce. As for TMZ, what do people want to hear him say to TMZ? I know what I want him to say, but I can’t say it here. (It starts with “Hey, why don’t you go…” and involves something physically impossible for most of us.)
All Lindsey has said is that a faction of the band lost its perspective. While I don’t expect him to say much beyond that right now, I also wouldn’t expect him to paint himself in a bad light. Like, I can’t imagine him saying “Well, I wanted to do a concurrent tour, the promoters didn’t like that idea, Stevie confronted me about it, we had a huge blowout where I was especially edgy since I wanted to make new music and she didn’t with me, I got sacked, and am now feeding my family with store brand hotdogs and imitation Spaghettios to cover our losses.”

In the CBS interview segment, when she says it, no one looks surprised or confused. They all continue to discuss the situation. It's ridiculous to say that no one else "confirmed" her lie simply because they all didn't repeat, one by one, "Yes, I confirm that is what happened."
But if you truly believe it only counts if he says it himself, then Mick says Lindsey wanted to delay the tour in this interview: https://player.fm/series/rolling-stone-music-now-170040/a-conversation-with-fleetwood-mac

Bingo! That is exactly what I think happened, and that is exactly why I think Lindsey hasn't given his side of the story. You said it better than I could have. This isn't a sudden revelation for me... I was happy to give Lindsey some time to tell his story. But it's been months and he still hasn't let the fans know his side of what happened, so yeah, to me his silence gives the FM story credibility. And I'm not saying that would make FM right in this situation for firing Lindsey. I am saying it puts the split in a different light. If Lindsey wanted a concurrent tour, it could and should have been worked out, but if one side wouldn't budge, then I could see why he was fired.
The one thing I disagree with is the part about Spaghettios and hot dogs- imitation caviar, perhaps, but not imitation Spaghettios LOL!

You are then surmising that the only possibility why Lindsey could be silent on the matter, indicates that he is guilty only.
I will respectfully bring to the fore some other reasons for the silence -- if you find that possible reasons of human decency, ethics, moving on and focusing on the future are NOT valid enough and the world is owed more from him and he should give a statement, there are the very real and plausible possibilities that there are legal and contractual reasons he is not giving any statements for now. I am 95% certain that a sudden firing such as this is tying up some time and space and resources in California courts, with agents, managements, and all their personal cooperations involved in the mess.
It might then be years before that web would get untangled and Lindsey Buckingham and his side would be allowed to comment. Or, even then, there might be a non-disclosure agreement, in which Lindsey's side, bought off, for an extra concession or sum, agrees to not speak of the issue again. Trade off for the other ( Mick and Stevie) side then being of course: -- the issue fading from public view but, more importantly, never openly being contradicted, therefor to some , like is happening here with you, " It must be true cause no one ever said otherwise, and because he is silent he must be guilty".
To Lindsey, the money or whatever legal agreement or perk would be offered in exchange for this, may matter more than our opinion.
So the chance is very very real that we will never hear a statement from Lindsey Buckingham's side at all.
Just saying.

Seriously.... to believe Mick and Stevie's words just because THEY have spoken and Lindsey hasn't only shows how little you care about what happened. They were forced to speak about the subject because they need to promote this lame tour, that's all. It's not like they are willingly doing it.

And I'm not saying that would make FM right in this situation for firing Lindsey. I am saying it puts the split in a different light. If Lindsey wanted a concurrent tour, it could and should have been worked out, but if one side wouldn't budge, then I could see why he was fired.
But the band has said nothing about a concurrent tour publicly. Their public line is only that he wanted a delay. Thus, if you believe the concurrent tour is the real story, then you too believe the band to be lying in their interviews.
I'm actually puzzled now as to what you're questioning about Kristen's statement, as she never denied the concurrent tour request, and I too believe that is what happened.

Bwboy, Lindsey has NEVER spoken about these things. He’s always been quiet and doesn’t get into the muck ever. Why would now be any different? It’s just not his style and I’m not surprised. I always hope he will say something, but haven’t held my breath. So by stating that he’s done something because he hasn’t spoken, makes no sense.
Maybe it's a matter of opinion, but I don't think it's getting in the muck for Lindsey to give his side of the story. Especially when his wife is commenting on the internet about the situation. And that is her right, but it contrasts heavily that she's commenting on it while her husband remains silent. Obviously, Lindsey doesn't mind that she's commenting on his firing, or she wouldn't be doing it, so why not just end the speculation by telling his side of the story. If FM had refused to comment on his firing, they would have been raked through the coals. They answered the questions, and if Lindsey disagrees with what they said, then he should speak up. His silence speaks volumes to me.
Again, I'm not saying they were right to fire him, or that he did anything wrong. What I am saying is that maybe what the band said happened is close to what actually happened, and that would explain why Lindsey hasn't contradicted it. I don't believe that Lindsey took a payoff to stay silent, and I'm shocked that other people seem to think he did. If he did, he gets no sympathy from me, but I don't believe he would do that.

The band spoke for themselves in the interviews about the situation. Lindsey has not. I don't care what John's wife, Stevie's brother, Christine's boyfriend, or Mick's sister says about the situation. Likewise, I don't care what Lindsey's wife has to say. Sorry that is unreasonable to you, but at least I'm consistent

Stevie's twitter account is run by Karen. So that means I can't believe anything she says because she's Karen. Why is KB different than Stevie's assistant?
There is no difference- I agree with you 100%! If Stevie's Twitter account is run by somebody else, then I wouldn't believe those were Stevie's words, either. Same thing with Lindsey and his wife.
If Lindsey's account of his firing is that different from what FM said, he has the option to tell his side. If he chooses not to end the speculation and let the fans know what happened, that's too bad he chooses to let the rumors fly.

It's possible to believe both. I only watched the interview once... I admit I am not the kind of fan who watches every interview several times, or remembers every word said, but my memory was that Stevie said something like he wanted to postpone the tour, and the rest of the band didn't want to wait. It's entirely possible that Lindsey suggested both ideas- for FM to postpone the tour until he was done with his solo dates, and when that didn't fly, he suggested he tour concurrently. Or vice versa. Doesn't mean the band lied, I mean they certainly didn't go into great detail, and I'm sure we all agree there was more to the story, and they just gave the basic info- there was an impasse and they couldn't agree, so Lindsey was fired. You know, kind of like back in 1987, when FM came to an impasse and Lindsey left the band in the lurch, leaving them scrambling. Just this time, the shoe was on the other foot. Just like it was Lindsey's right to leave in 1987, it's their right to fire him in 2018.

Mick said “fired” was “too strong a word” and Lindsey called it “an involuntary hiatus” from the band.

Kristen said he never asked for a delay.
I too initially thought he asked for both (perhaps briefly mentioning a delay as a possibility at one point) and that the band was lying by omission. While it's still wrong and a distortion of the truth, I can see how they could tell themselves they weren't really lying.
But it is no longer possible to believe both. Again, Kristen has now said he never asked for one. They were lying absolutely. There is no way to justify it.

Steve (or anyone)--where did Lindsey say this? (I did a bit of a search but it wasn't fruitful)
Lindsey's only public statement was at a benefit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEI3ftV3y1s
Actually, Lindsey does not call it an "involuntary hiatus." It always annoys me when people put things in quotation marks as if they are exact words when they're actually that person's paraphrase of what was said. SteveMacD has done that a few times, and he's not the only one. Both of SteveMacD's "quotations" here are actually paraphrases, and imprecise ones at that.
Lindsey's words were: "I have sadly taken leave of my band of 43 years, Fleetwood Mac. This was not something that was really my doing or my choice."
As for Mick, he said that he didn't want to use the word "firing" because it was "ugly" - not because it was "too strong." This is from CBS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=346fynuN-b4&t=182s):
Interviewer Voiceover: Tensions were building, Fleetwood says, because Buckingham would not sign off on a new tour they'd been planning for a year and a half.
Mick: It became just a huge impasse and hit a brick wall where we decided that we had to part company.
Interviewer: Was Lindsey effectively fired?
Mick: Well, we don't use that word because I think it's ugly, and it's not a question of that. Lindsey has huge amounts of respect and kudos to what he's done within the ranks of Fleetwood Mac and always will, but it's like a marriage that came to an end, and there are reasons why. And, as a band, we needed to move on, and we have.

Interviewer: So I've heard for a long time there's plans to do a big tour in 2018. And at what point did you realize that it was going to be without Lindsey? How long ago did the split happen?
Mick: After MusiCares in New York, which is 3 months ago.
Stevie: Which was February?
Interviewer: I think it was late January maybe?
Stevie: I don't know, because I left for Maui on the fourth of February. So it was, had to be more like... I think it was like the 26th of January. Somewhere at MusiCares or somewhere in that...
Interviewer: Right. And prior to that, you thought the tour was going to be with Lindsey?
Mick: Well, we didn't...
Christine: Yes.
Mick: ...know we had a tour. That was, is, part of the problem in terms of where it became a total impasse. The four of us had to come to a decision where we planned to be doing a large, huge, lovely Fleetwood Mac tour, and Lindsey, for sure, had very different opinions about when that should start. And the whole thing, without belaboring it, was percolating in a way that was not OK for the majority of the band in terms of knowing that we were going to go on tour. And he had, for whatever reasons... and Lindsey would, I'm sure, address it in terms of a project he was working on... but it's not about oh, what do you mean, why couldn't you wait, and all that stuff. We'd planned on doing what we were doing for a long, long time and the majority rules in terms of what we needed to do as a band and go forward. And it literally hit a brick wall after the show and Fleetwood Mac is no... you're sitting there, you're very conversant with the strange animal known as Fleetwood Mac.... and really, a lot of other sensibilities came into play where it just wasn't a happy situation. And we made that decision that we were going to part company.
Interviewer: So the biggest issue was scheduling the tour? Is that what happened, Stevie? [she goes on with her story]
[~ later in the interview ~]
Interviewer: And just to clarify... there seems some confusion now. Did he quit, or was he fired, or was it somewhere in between? Just how would you clarify his departure?
Mick: All of the "fired" words and the, you know... they're all ugly references as far as I'm concerned. But not to hedge around... an impasse of hitting a brick wall... there was not a happy situation for us in terms of the logistics of a functioning band. And in truth, no secret to anyone in the room, quietly, without going into... some of the things had a muscle memory of not being hugely fun. And to that purpose, we made a decision that we could not go on with Lindsey. So it's really up to people such as yourself, with, "What do you mean, you let him go?" We made a decision: "We can go on without you." That is correct.

Doesn't mean the band lied, I mean they certainly didn't go into great detail, and I'm sure we all agree there was more to the story, and they just gave the basic info- there was an impasse and they couldn't agree, so Lindsey was fired.I agree that there's a lot more to the story. If there's an "impasse" and they "couldn't agree," why wouldn't Lindsey quit? Firing is a consequence of something a lot deeper than disagreement, especially in this situation.
You know, kind of like back in 1987, when FM came to an impasse and Lindsey left the band in the lurch, leaving them scrambling.
That's a strange way to retell that story. That's not what I recall reading about it. Band members were stoned and not committed to working hard during the making of that album, so Lindsey was sickened at the prospect of touring (explaining that when things are crazy in the studio, the insanity multiplies ten times on the road). He told them he didn't want to tour under those circumstances, and they cajoled him into agreeing to tour anyway. They booked shows, the true horror of his situation rose up and slammed him in the face (sitting in his car outside their meeting), and he went back on his earlier agreement. Fleetwood responded by telling him "We're touring anyway" and hired two other guys. THAT'S what happened. It really was a firing. It was not professional for Lindsey to reluctantly agree and then to back out, but it was understandable: he was in emotional anguish over the prospect of going on the road with drug-addled, distant colleagues. Perhaps he should have gone anyway, but Fleetwood should have taken his feelings into consideration. Fleetwood's never been very good at that, except when it comes to Stevie. He takes HER feelings into consideration. I think he did it again this year, sacrificing Lindsey for Stevie.

I know this will be an unpopular notion, but I still see a possibility of a Lindsey return. Not for this tour, but afterwards. If history has taught us one thing, it’s that Stevie fawns over her collaborators profusely, then shows them the door just as abruptly as they appear. I suspect these “yes men” eventually bore her. She says she wants calm & peace, but turmoil fuels her. This is why despite some truly ugly situations, she’s always returned to Lindsey. He’s probably the only person left living who will stand up to her.
For those who will inevitably throw the age thing out there, spare me. :wavey:

So awful. I can only imagine how betrayed he must feel. He works so hard for them, he gives them so much of his time and effort while Stevie is off doing her own thing, he pushes them to create rather than be stagnant... he sings, so earnestly, "I will stand with my band" - and they kick him in the teeth. Not to mention the personal betrayal of Stevie. So much of his life dedicated to Fleetwood Mac... all of that ripped away, his past contributions treated as if they meant nothing.

Let's not forget how we found out YEARS after the fact that she was unhappy with the '09 unleashed tour because there wasn't any drama. She described it as "benign"
I've always looked at this as the first time Lindsey may have learned to "not take the bait" from Stevie all the time.
Well, they could make his return into a really interesting and dramatic narrative for the two of them. The trademark tempestuous relationship played out at high intensity one last time. It would make a great story and be the perfect theme for a farewell tour.
Unlike the "story" of Stevie's milquetoast lot of yes-men.

Ehh...I get the whole dynamic thing and understand its draw. For me it was interesting between 1997-2004.
Actually moving forward and working together to potentially make something special was way more intriguing to me and kept me interested in the past ten years or so, but that ship has sailed so I'm over it.

Heck yes! I want my five fireflies back! I'm one of the people who loved going to their concerts, who got a lot of joy out of it. Call me selfish to want that again, even after all of this, but I do.
More importantly, I want my band to go out on a high note. I want this for Fleetwood Mac's legacy.
My favorite band can't end like this. Let this time be harsh, clanging notes before a soaring finale, not an ending that makes us all leave with our ears bleeding and our hearts broken.
There are such things as forgiveness and making amends. I want that for them.

Well, if I could have dreamed this whole sh*t show, and it never happened, I want them to end like that, too.
But we know what selfish idiotic diva ruined the ending. Ho ruined the ending of the book! It's beyond repair now, IMO, at this LATE stage in the game.
I hope they ask him, and he tells them to go straight to Hell. I'd lose all respect for him if he didn't. To treat him like this, for the rest of the world to see?????? F*CK them.

it just gets more and more awful
Stevie broke my heart
I'm glad I didn't cave and buy tickets to this tour
I really cannot handle seeing her or any of them (newbies or old)
I wish Lindsey would have released his album by now and announced a tour--that would offer some consolation
AND I want to show him some support!
I WILL buy new music from any of the original fireflies or this evil conglomerate, but only because I'm invested in the soap opera
This ending is tragic and pathetic. A reflection, I believe, of our fractured culture.

This. Between 2004-2013, following Fleetwood Mac became tedious. It started getting interesting again to me in 2013 when it became clear that Christine was moving away from retirement and towards coming back.

Richard tweeted again (I think implying that he's spoken to Lindsey recently-- after he went to one of BM shows he posted about it and said he'd be keeping closer contact with both of them) saying he can "confirm" Lindseys crushed and in a lot of pain over what's happened and Richard thinks it's not right that this is happening.

I wouldn't have expected him to be thrilled and happy dancing but it's still pretty upsetting to hear that he's really hurt. I think that would explain his wife continuing to talk about the situation. I think on here it's easy to forget that these are still people with feelings and this is probably a really difficult time.
That makes me very sad. I am thrilled that he's working with Brandi Carlile. They should do a tour together.
On edit: Oops it's Brandy Clark. I guess I'll have to check her out.

She's a relatively new country/folky-ish kind of singer. Kind of a random collaboration but we'll have to see!
EDIT: I just looked into her more and she's not that new after all. I just had never heard of her at all. But she is quiteee country. I'm not the biggest fan of country music. Still have hopes!

Seriously! I mean, I'm sad and my brain understands these 4 people
(specifically one) hurt him. So the idea of him coming back to that environment as if nothing happened and for these 4 people to act as if nothing happened, and to sing Landslide again hugging and holding hands and acting like people who actually love each other is something that I will never understand. I know it will probably happen because that's how twisted they are, but I won't celebrate it and I can't understand how some fans want it to happen when we all know it will be an awful lie.
Just the 5 of them together again smiling fake smiles just for the sake of fans and of their pockets. Awful.

I was really bummed to see that too. Part of me was really thinking that with his whole like, ~forward-looking, innovative creative~ personality thing that while he'd obviously be sad about it, he'd move on pretty quick. Or at least look at it in a different light. That at least helped me feel better about it. So to hear that he's still really upset about it just makes it worse.

I guess my hope is that they would find a way to forgive each other and that it would be genuine. Obviously, Stevie and Mick would have to take responsibility for their actions and make it up to Lindsey, but stranger things have happened.

I don't want another Buckvie--she's as guilty as the rest. If Stevie and Mick don't get a pass--Christine shouldn't either. Her ex-husband and his bestie have been in her life forever---well Lindsey's been in Stevie's life forever too. That's not a pass for this. The 5 of them own this disaster, break up....." Go your own ways"... I truly think another Buck Vie would be as fake as a "Landslide" or "Sara" hug. If they are going to end it---end it. Send a mass card when one of them kicks it and move on.

I heard from different camps that he wants to be back with the band, so I guess I'm more angry with Lindsey than with Mick/Stevie.
I know they had many fights/disagreements in the past but with so many reports of Lindsey's current state of mind I can only imagine how awful things went between them in that meeting nobody wants to talk about.
Sure, they can all make up and sing together again, but I doubt it's gonna be a sincere and heartfelt scene. Stevie is probably now angry because of all the backlash, and she's probably blaming him.
My hopes of a sincere reunion are pretty Slim. Too much has probably been said and done this time to let everything go away and just go on with the show.

Yes. Sorry but I don't buy Christine's long face with Anthony Mason. She could have said 'no', yet it was easier to stay quiet. BuckVie would be as fake as a Rumours 5 reunion.
Mass card? If things are as bad as KB is saying, I don't think we will even get that kind of bittersweet reunion.

I don't think Christine had a heavy hand in orchestrating what happened with Lindsey. She was somewhat blindsided by what happened. True she went along with the band. But in my mind I just see Christine's and Lindsey's relationship being so much more real and artistically intertwined than, well you know who.

But she's touring with them. Blindsided sure, and that I buy, but now she's wearing it, just like the rest of them If she's willing to tour with this incarnation of Fleetwood Mac....she supports it. If that's actually true then he must be really, REALLY hurting about this. Because typically I'd think Lindsey is the type of person whose pride is too strong to ever want to go back after a situation like this.
And I think back to Kristen's word choice when she referred to the situation. It would be one thing if she just said they were shady band members or unfair or ungrateful. But she called it the "cruelest move she'd ever seen" and said Lindsey didn't deserve it. That kind of description is pretty telling.

IA. I've always thought Christine and Lindsey worked together great and got along fine and obviously were fond of each other but people looked at their relationship through rose colored glasses because of BuckVie. In the end she could've thrown her own power around if she was so blindsided by what happened but she didn't. In the end I sadly think no one in this band is loyal to anyone except Mick and Stevie to each other. And we had to see that proven in an ugly way.

I agree, she has to share some of the blame. But the way I look at it, is that if and when FM disbands or stops touring, perhaps because of lack of public interest, I definitely see a better chance of Christine and Lindsey working together again, than Stevie and Lindsey. They have a better working music relationship. You know, they both know more than three chords. I actually think they are better friends than Stevie and Lindsey and have more mutual respect for each other. I've never thought of Lindsey's and Christine's relationship as being fake.

Probably, but she threw it all away when she kept silent and did nothing after she knew what had happened. Once he was fired, they were all told to avoid Lindsey's calls and of course Christine wasn't the exception. But she's probably the one with more chances to rebuild a normal relationship with him.

Maybe not a close friendship, but there had to a certain amount of camaraderie for them to want to do BuckVie, and then tour in support of it. Did they ever speak badly of each other? With the exception of the times when Lindsey behaved badly in regards to Stevie.

I don't think that lessens her responsibility. It's EASY to just sit back and let sh*t happen.
After the LOVE I saw between them last year............for her to let this happen is ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE. I hope she's let the guilt tear her up inside.

This probably explains why Chris could only look at her fingers during the Anthony Mason interview. She was feeling guilty, and so she should be (for taking part, or doing nothing once she found out.....whatever her part was). Mick and Stevie were too busy selling their story, John never talks.
Guilt is like karma.......a b#%^h that'll eat you alive. I'm sure they will all feel the effects at some point. Well, maybe not Stevie and Mick. They have no souls (and they used to be my favourites:mad:).

It's inconceivable that he would ever go back. It would be the ultimate emasculation for him to do so. A poor pup with it's tail tucked between it's legs. What a man he'd be, then. I believe 90% of what Wendy said. It's at the least, what she was told. Bob was her world, and she wouldn't have lied about it(at least I don't think she would have).
My FM world began crumbling with Wendy's accusations towards Christine. And the crap has been rolling downhill ever since. And it's gaining speed...

Chris may have been looking at her fingers in that interview, but she's also telling everyone how happy she is to play with Finn and Campbell and how great they all sound etc., etc. If she feels guilty, she's hiding it well. I don't give her a pass either.
If she had stood up to Mick, they would have had to rethink firing Lindsey. Going on without Lindsey is one thing, but going on without Lindsey AND Christine? That would have been far more difficult.
Christine is guilty, too. They all betrayed Lindsey. Stevie was the instigator, Mick was the enforcer, John was the mindless follower, Chris was the passive enabler... they all participated in this.

They were both antagonistic to each other but I think Lindsey wasn't as negative about it in his mindframe of the whole 'willing to live through the bad stuff to achieve your inner purpose' thing.
There's also the fact that he's old, he's been in that band for the majority of his adult life, put a hell of a lot of work into it, has his whole musical legacy tied up in there and so what's happened is probably a disaster/very emotionally traumatizing.

I've said this from day one. Christine is THE ONE who could have stopped it. Yet she did nothing. If they lost her, too, it would have been ALL OVER. They couldn't have gone on without LB OR CM. It'd just be the $tevie Nick$ band then. But she did nothing. Maybe Wendy Welch was spot on about her. :(:(:(

Exactly. Lindsey stuck it out through the tough times, through the drama, through the tantrums, because of the music. The music is more important than anything else - it's more important than ego, than suffering, than the satisfaction of vengeance. That's why he put aside his feelings to work on Stevie's music. That's why they kept on working together despite everything that was going on between them in the past. That's why he's willing to keep on working with them now.
All of you people condemning him for his feelings... really? This is a huge part of his life, both professionally and emotionally. Don't you think he loved being in front of those crowds and making music with his band of 40+ years? Of course he doesn't want to leave it. Of course he wants it back.

I imagine Chris was stuck touring. I bet when she came back she lost her voting rights AND had to sign a multi tour agreement to keep her from doing what she did in 97 and leaving after the tour. She lost is stuck trying to make the best of it. I bet she resents all this drama greatly.

Absolutely agree with this. I just wonder if that isn't damaged now-

My personal opinion is that this all boiled down to new music. I think Lindsey was tired of just being a touring band and that is all Stevie wanted.
I think Lindsey wanted to either push back the tour or tour solo along side the Mac with new music of his own and prove to Stevie that the fans do want to hear new stuff and not the same old songs.
That is where the "lost the perspective" came from. And I think Stevie blew a gasket and Mick supported her and the crap hit the fan between Stevie/Lindsey. Mick made the decision to go with Stevie.

I absolutely agree new music played a part in this, however...now this new band has pushed back the start of the tour and are talking new music (I am doubtful we see anything new out of them--but they are talking about it)....SO, I guess that will give Lindsey the opportunity to say touche, to some degree. And they Stevie will be forced to answer the question "So when you said fans don't want new music, what you really meant was YOU just didn't want to create new music with Lindsey?"

Lindsey's the last to leave
The last to be gone
Stolen like our legacy
He held on too long
He is the latest in the line
Of the ones I discard
Now he's shattered with his dreams
And I'm relishing the fun
Wrote a song 'bout it
I caused the breakdown
Around MusiCares
My vibrato helps Mick
Maintain his long silver hair
"Long Distance Winner"
I guess my lyrics weren't right
Looks like the winner is me
Have fun cry'in in the night
I would love to believe
I believe what I say
All the drama that I churn up
Whatever sells my face
No Chris you can't leave
All but Lindsey stay close
As I snort the pain
Lindsey's the latest to leave
What caused it this time?
A 'divorce in the night'?
More like 'fired without reason'!
Buy our lies, love the fight
Do you believe in the five?
...Sorry make that 'six,' now
'Cause anything goes
Anything goes
...Now you're fired, guys!

I have a hard time listening to their music anymore. Solo Stevie has been stripped from my Pandora playlist. I'm so disillusioned by all of this. I always thought they were the coolest bunch of people on the face of the earth.

Last night I looked at ticketmaster for the forum shows in LA....WOW!!!!!! They are experiencing quite a drop off in business and trust me, they can surround themselves with all the "yes folks" they want, but word is getting back to them. This stunt will hit them in the pocketbooks. It won't go unrecognized.
Some of these shows look like they are selling worse than shows during the recession in 2009. I will be shocked if they don't get forced to move shows into smaller venues if they don't unload a ton of tickets in the next few months.

There are plenty of seats left open in Houston, Texas for February 5. As of yet, I have not purchased tickets for this show. These same venue was nearly sold out for the 2015 Tour. Except for the upper reaches of the balcony, there wasn't a seat to be found in 2015. Weeks after tickets went on sale, I look at the map of available tickets for 2019. There are open blue seats dotted everywhere.

Stevie was the instigator, Mick was the enforcer, John was the mindless follower, Chris was the passive enabler... they all participated in this.
ETA: I daresay lawyers told them to avoid talking to Lindsey, but it's still awful.
I love this description. 100% accurate.
Yes, that's my guess too. Lawyers. It wouldn't be FM without lawyers.
Yes, I totally understand he spent most of his life with this people and he's indeed hurt because, unlike them, he has feelings. That's why I can't understand him, and no matter if they welcome him with open arms, it will never be the same.
And if it is, then it wasn't as bad as they made us believe in the first place.

I agree with you 100%..... Christine was the ONLY ONE to stop this and she didn't....if she had stood up to Mick and said no Lindsey then I'm out then this would not have happened.

I would love to believe
I believe what you say
In the drama of the moment
For us there is no easy way
No one ever leaves
Everyone stays close 'til the fire fades
No one is condemning him and I think everyone is entitled to their opinion. He can do whatever he wants and I sure he couldn't care less what I think.
I was at The Classics and he certainly wasn't happy making music with them. He was happy doing BuckVie music and those two FM concerts were not something he wanted.
You can say the band is a big part of his life, but tell me: where's the joy of being sorrounded by people who doesn't like you? He wants it back for what? Being around people that doesn't want to work with you anymore just for the sake of still being part of a band?
Now if you tell me he's doing it for the money, then I totally get it, and I don't doubt that's one of the reasons he wants to be back.

The fame, I think. Even though $tevie is the epitome of being fame needy, I think everyone likes being in a hugely popular band that sells out many venues.
By myself, I can move 1500 tickets, but with FM, 20,000! I'd think 95% of artists would prefer the latter.

Stevie doesn't, for sure.
Mick, only loves money, but deep down he likes Lindsey.
John, doesn't love or hate anyone.

So of course the band is a huge part of his life. And if the others had stood up to Stevie, or it played out the same way it did when Stevie was all over the map, why wouldn't he expect for them to work this through?
But, no, there was cruel S*%# going on behind his back that he didn't even know about. How's he then suppose to know what level the playing field is on?

Lindsey is not a poor guy. His family is currently on vacation in Capri.
The band made a decision to move on from Lindsey. I think it is a damaging decision to the legacy of the band. But my opinion is irrelevant. The only opinions that matter are those of the majority of the band. They are all 70 plus, except for Lindsey. They chose a different course of business to for their last chapter. This is the last go around for them and the only reunion would only be driven by less than desired financial outcomes, but I think that time will run out on them before that is a motivating factor to reorganize yet again.

The only member that dislikes him is Stevie lol. Christine basically said that same thing ages ago after he left the band and I doubt it's changed. She said there was never real issues with him and any other band member, it was just Stevie. The thing is that people aren't loyal. When Christine left Stevie told the press how much she missed her and kept her piano but she barely spoke to her in that entire time period and also wanted to bring in Sheryl Crow. There's no loyalty.

I honestly don't remember blocking you, I think I responded to you several months ago and you said you thought I had blocked you because I hadn't responded to comments you had made to one of my threads before. Or maybe I said I was going to block you in a flash off anger. I have a horrible memory so it's very possible I'm not recounting it accurately. Stevie is surrounded by Yes men/women. It’s safe to say she has few relationships on the level. She always circles back to LB because he’s that one person that’s ever rivaled her in focus determination and motivation. She tried to recreate with Don, and Tom, but they never needed her or gave the drama back, she feeds off it. She’ll play nice again at some point past actions prove she is a yo yo.

I think there is a ton of truth here. Even her yes men/women have to have let some of this feedback filter back. I would hazard a guess she's never had backlash like this. Mick loves it (TMZ interview shows that demonstratively) but Stevie is never the bad guy. Talk about NOT striking when the fire is hot. WTF is taking Lindsey so long to release his new music or even the greatest hits album his record company was gonna put out? He has wasted 7 precious months this year also.
The reason I added your quotes was because while you all have valid points I truly believe all of us would appreciate the legacy be intact for the sake of the band's history. Fractured Mac would be better as Fleetwood Mac in my opinion. I truly believe Lindsey would love to return to FM. Otherwise he wouldn't have been so kind with his "factions" quote. Hard to know if it's another case of LB perfectionism dragging things out and not realizing that less-than-perfect but timely is better than perfect but everyone else has moved on already. :(
Or, maybe just spending time with him family.

I wonder if maybe he's embarrassed by the firing??? Laying low on purpose for a bit?

Yes, because Lindsey was always the one pushing them to be creative. Mick was only just pushing them to generate $$.
But why would you think this would stop them from touring after this? Touring isn't predicated on being creative. Do you think Mick will decide he finally has enough money this time? ;)

Because they are accustomed to headlining large venues and they have so far proven to have experienced trouble filling venues without Lindsey that they once had no problem filling. Other members of the band may also not tolerate (well, their egos may not tolerate) playing smaller venues in smaller markets and bringing home less money.
That's how their touring future could be impacted by the lineup change.

Ehh, I don't see anyone hanging up the instruments any time soon (unless there was a health issue). With new dates being added, I don't think the promoters are worried about not having an audience to play to either. Mick didn't decide the band should close up shop after any of the other line up changes over the years and I don't see him doing it now.

That's because Mick is a freaking idiot.
