I must say, regarding the track list, when we initially got the "official" listing (sans "Turnstile 69", thank God ) for the first few days, part of me was a tad disappointed (not gonna lie) that only 4 songs from my wishlist made the cut. Then I actually REALIZED that FOUR of my wishlist songs MADE THE CUT!!! And I scolded myself for being bummed and felt lucky that these 4 songs were even recorded in the first place. 4 songs I've adored for the longest time are going to be fully formed songs now. 4 songs is A LOT, compared to one song off my wishlist for IYD, and one song from my wishlist for SYW.
Today as I was looking over the tracklisting for "24 Karat Gold", thinking how long we've had 85% of the demos, I realized that all these tracks are STEVIE's favorites. And that's probably what's the most important thing about this "love letter to the fans". These are all songs that SHE loves. These are all the songs that SHE wants to share. And all of a sudden, it dawned on me ~ when it comes to her body of work, when it comes to her longevity as an artist, when it comes to the stories from these demos in which only we (as fanatics) have been privy, this is actually the PERFECT TRACK LISTING!
We've got 1 Buckingham Nicks era demo, 3 from Tusk, 4 from Bella Donna, 1 from Wild Heart, 2 from Rock A Little, and 2 pre TISL demos. Not too sure about which eras that "Lady", "Carousel" and "I Don't Care" come from.
Anyway, it's very well rounded. Most of her early Fleetwood Mac work and early solo career are represented in this set...and that's what makes this whole project exciting! That's what gets me pumped up and counting the days! It's been said a million times, but it sure is a THRILLING time to be a Stevie fan!
And like I always say (a million times)...everything I post is merely my humble opinion, of course. :D
Exactly. I am really, extremely happy with this record. I got 8 songs from my wishlist. If I had heard Knocking On Doors prior to this whole announcement, it would have been 9.
Before TISL, I wanted Sorcerer, Nomad, and No Light - and I got them, one of them twice. And I wanted Running Through The Garden, Smile At You, and The Tower, and I got all of those too. Then I got Lady From The Mountain and Secret Love. So I really don't have much to complain about. Out of all the demos, a full 16 of the ones I would have wanted to be released finally have been. And then there's a FM album next year to look forward to as well. :]
I can safely state that Carousel is at least pre-Enchanted. I remember seeing that song on the online list (at NicksFix, I think) on my folks' old Windows 95 PC (lol). So it's at least Street Angel or older.

I wonder if the liner notes for this new album will include dates or eras in which each song was recorded...or maybe a paragraph or two about the meaning of each song (like she did with "Timespace" and "Crystal Visions")?

I think that would be really cool. We have some of the details. If there are more, or any stories behind the songs, it would be neat to get those, too.

In the end the track lists didn't matter and what was done with the songs by stevie and Dave did matter. If the track list did matter I would be extremely disappointed. Both of the fake lists had space needle and Julia and I think at least one had baby doll. Then the official version had none of those but had she loves him still, cathouse blues, belle fluer and mable Normand, all songsI never needed to see the light of day. Now with at least mable Normand I see the track list didn't matter because they truly can turn any demo into gold, And I still get to listen to all my favorite demos that didn't ale the cut

Happy to see some express acceptance for what this album will be and not disappointment for what some fans wanted it to be. After all, these are the songs that made it on Stevie's wish list, not ours.
Sure, I would have loved it if songs like Baby Doll and Julia made the cut. But that doesn't overshadow my excitement and anticipation for the album. As noted, those songs still exist to enjoy in their demo form.
As for the preoccupation and notion that the songs on the album should sound like the demos -- some may adhere to the original arrangement, and some might be reinvented and rearranged. It's really unfair to make comparisons; the demos were never meant to be circulated and heard by the masses in the first place. If anyone has an problem about it, then just listen to the demos! I would hate to hear anyone complain about something so trivial.

Would someone mind spelling these out for those of us who are less researched? :)

I second this, especially since some of them were recorded for more than one era and we could end up with one or another or both (e.g. The Dealer, If You Were My Love, Belle Fleur).

Starshine, If You Were My Love, 24 Karat Gold, Belle Fleur, and The Dealer were all demoed and/or recorded for Bella Donna. Belle Fleur was recorded again for The Wild Heart.
The Dealer had previously been demoed for the Tusk album, and If You Were My Love was later recorded for Mirage and then Street Angel.
Mabel Normand and She Loves Him Still are from the Rock a Little era. All the Beautiful Worlds was originally recorded for The Wild Heart.
Lady and Cathouse Blues are Buckingham Nicks-era demos. Carousel might be, too. The demo for that has never been circulated.
Hard Advice dates from around 1995. We all assumed it was an alternate title for That Made Me Stronger, but evidently not. Another previously uncirculated one.
Blue Water was recorded around 1978, but I don't believe it was done for any particular album. Watch Chain was recorded during the Tusk sessions.
No clue about I Don't Care.

Just checked "Carousel" is from 1981 also (Copyrighted in 1981)

Cool! Thanks for that info. So it's another "Bella Donna" era demo. :) I'm wondering now, if maybe we've heard it under an alternate title. Maybe the word "Carousel" isn't even in the actual song and is merely a metaphor for something.
Although the only other songs that she's written (that I can think of off the top of my head) where she doesn't sing the name of the title is "Wide Sargasso Sea", "Moonlight" and "Sable On Blonde".
But I'm still strongly leaning towards the idea that we've never heard this one before.

If you are making a playlist, a good song to play after Lady is Count on Me by Jefferson Airplane.

It's interesting to think of closing songs for each album side again, having it on vinyl. Just like the old days. I think Twisted is a good album closer. I don't know anything about Lady.
EDIT ~ Now that we know for sure that "Carousel" is NOT a "rocking song".
I was recently thinking about this as well...
Side A closes with "Twisted"
Side B closes with "Lady"
Side C closes with "Carousel"
Side D closes with "She Loves Him Still"
Well we've already heard the magnificent "Lady" which, in my opinion, is a great song to close that side. If the live version of "Twisted" is any indication of how she's decided to re-record it, then it will be a cool rocking mid tempo track.
On the other end of the spectrum, let's examine the OPENING tracks for each side...
Side A opens with "Starshine"
Side B opens with "24 Karat Gold"
Side C opens with "I Don't Care"
Side D opens with "Blue Water"
Judging from Dave's FB clips, The A, B & C openers seem like pure rockin' songs, and I'm willing to bet "Blue Water" is the lone ballad opener (although I could be wrong since we haven't heard the snippit yet).
Thoughts? Opinions?

Yes I was looking at this too the other day, and I think the closers are well planned. I think what it will be for openers is ballad/rocker/ballad/rocker or the other way around for closers. I was just listening to the Pat Garrett/Billy the Kid album buy Bob Dylan and the album sequencing for that was superb, beginning and ending both sides with a slower, dramatic ballad type thing, and building up in between, and I hope this is how the album is going to flow. I loved IYD, but I didn't think the sequencing was as good as TISL. Because, at least for me, an album tells a story, so you have to have an opener, a "topic sentence" or "hook" if you will, and then an ear-catching closer to make you feel like this album told a great story. My all-time favourite album sequences were for Rumours and TITN. To me, the ending of GDW makes the whole album seem mysterious, and Rumour-esque, like there's all this news to tell about this woman. And You and I, though not my favourite song, reminds me of the dawn, emerging from the night, like phantoms, crawling out of the night. So I guess to me, openers and closers are important, but I think this album will be sequenced correctly, if the songs are on point :)

Thanks for the response, DauphineMarie! So putting it all together, as far as individual side openers and closers, it would appear to be...
Side A - Rocker/Rocker
Side B - Rocker/Ballad
Side C - Rocker/Ballad
Side D - Ballad/Ballad
...Interesting.

How random! I love that song by Jefferson Starship! Jefferson Airplane was over by 1970. I'm a big fan of both eras. There's no one quite like Grace Slick!

Yeah..Grace never hesitated to speak her mind .Not too long ago in an interview when asked about her retirement from music she reiterated her famous quote 'there is no place for old people on a rock and roll stage" and went on to say.." Stevie Nicks is still doing it God bless her!"
