Well, I must admit, I am usually the FIRST one to b**ch about redundant set lists. Moreover, the "set list" that's being posted for "On With The Show" is completely stale. BUT, I NEVER EVER (NOT IN A MILLION YEARS) thought I would see the Rumours 5 lineup perform a FULL concert onstage together again. So, I have no choice but to remain ecstatic! In 1977 (as a 7 year old child), on the Rumours Tour, I witnessed this lineup onstage for the first time. Moreover, in my 39 YEARS as a FM/SN fanatic, this will ONLY be the 4th time that I have seen this particular lineup live (Stevie, Chris, John, Mick, Lindsey). So, I will be walking on Cloud 9 when Chris ends the show with "Songbird" and the 5 Fireflies take a bow. I am a heck of a lot more excited about this tour than I was in 2013 (what was the point of that tour, I still haven't figured it out?)

Yeah, Everywhere and Little Lies! GREAT! Iīm so looking forward to see it.... well I hope they will come to Europe next year :D.
But where is Stand Back? Thatīs must be !!! Please :D
Your must is my disgust. It's not a Fleetwood Mac song; it's an interloper that should have never been invited to the show. It was the guest that overstayed its welcome. It needs to go back to Stevie's solo home and stay there.

Not that I consider it a must and would't miss it if it didn't get played, but Fleetwood Mac officially released the live version on the box set, so it's also a Fleetwood Mac song, IMO.

Yes, but it's a Stevie song. When I saw Crosby Stills & Nash a month ago, they played songs from each of their solo stuff, they played some Neil Young songs too.
I have no problem with them omitting Stand Back in favor of more Fleetwood Mac songs though.
I'm really hoping for 24 songs in the set.

The Eagles have performed their member's solo songs as well, so it's certainly not unprecedented ground FM is standing on by allowing solo works. While Stand Back is a much needed high-energy song in the setlist, it's time for it to take a break. That being said, bring back the acoustic Go Insane, please! :D

DITTO!
And, to the list of "songs that Fleetwood Mac does live that they didn't do in the studio", you can add Buckingham Nicks' "Don't Let Me Down Again". Nobody bitches about THAT one being considered a "Fleetwood Mac song" since they released is on the 1980 Live album.
It's just a Chiffonhead backlash lynch mob is what it is.

I don't think anyone particularly considers it an FM song. When he was there, ok. However, when FM did it after Lindsey left, everyone (we didn't have the internet then, so it is harder to gauge what "everyone" thought, actually) thought it was a Lindsey solo song and an odd choice for FM, but figured it was a message to him.

I honestly wish that Stand Back & Don't Let Me Down Again were never performed on Mac stages, and would both be retired completely from present & future Mac setlists. I just don't think non-FM material should be performed on a FM stage, period. That being said, I truly do love the acoustic version of Go Insane, and it will always receive a get out of jail free card from me. :D
However, I am somewhat of the opinion of when the songwriter retires from the band, their songs should go with them. I have never cared for Lindsey's rendition of Oh Well, and I really, really didn't like S&L's versions of Christine's songs. To me, when 1 singer/songwriter performs another singer/songwriter's tunes, it's a cover song. And I do not care for cover songs on the FM stage. You call it paying homage, I call it lounge act. :p

I certainly understand and respect your opinions and feelings. I also feel that Stand Back should have never been performed (and become a staple!) by Fleetwood Mac (this also goes for Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You). Stand Back singularly defines Stevie solo career, and has no alignment with Fleetwood Mac's overall style.
But I see Don't Let Me Down (or even Frozen Love, which was performed once by Fleetwood Mac), very differently. As Buckingham Nicks songs, they are so indicative of the influence Lindsey and Stevie brought to the band that they easily could be mistaken as Fleetwood Mac songs. Their performance of Don't Let Me Down Again on the LIVE album is fantastic! I consider it as Fleetwood Mac song.
Oh Well, also on the LIVE album, was released as a single and got a lot of radio airplay. I feel it was a nice, respectable nod to Fleetwood Mac's history and Peter Green. I really enjoy listening to all the old songs they performed early on circa 1975-1975: Station Man, Get Like You Used to Be, Hypnotized Spare Me a Little etc...
Christine's musicality is a large part of the band's style, so almost all of her solo songs fit the Fleetwood Mac mold.

I am intensely (and diametrically) opposed to this train of thought.
However, I am ever increasingly of the opinion that bands should NEVER AGAIN be named for their non-songwriting rhythm section.
See what kind of havoc that has caused ever since Peter Green left?
(of course, the band McGuinness Flint didn't have these problems. Ex-Manfred Mann bassist Tom McGuinness & ex-Bluesbreakers drummer Hughie Flint. Along with songwriters Graham Lyle & Benny Gallagher. Graham Lyle wrote "What's Love Got To Do With it?" that Tina Turner turned into a huge hit.)

Ok, this I agree with. It's Fleetwood Mac. They should honor the whole library in some fashion.
Imagine them performing something like "Did You Ever Love Me" with Lindsey. That would be so fresh, so brave, and so truthful to what they used to stand for. I agree that they are becoming a facade of themselves. What surprises me is that Lindsey goes along with it. He was the one that wanted to be a visionary artist. They are now a FM cover band. There I said it.
Am I going? Yes, because it's my last chance to see them together. Not just Christine, but all five of them. I'm excited to see them. They better perform the crap out of these tunes because I've heard them 1,000,000 times.

Exactly...I can hear (in my bizarrely wired brain) them even doing a killer version of "Albatross" with Lindsey & Christine doing the harmony lines...they did it on "Sunny Side Of Heaven", they could do it on "Albatross" as an "after Songbird" song!!!! If Chris & Lindsey are REALLY on some creative burst as they claim, re-effing-arrange "Morning Rain" into a more commercial sounding song...even if the music doesn't bear any resemblance to the original, just lyrically. Make those old songs their own...SHOW some of that "visionary creatively". I'm thinking that whole "visionary" crap was some ego-induced illusion inside some "whiney" guitarist's self-centered mind. "Hey, Buckingham...Copernicus called...."

It's a bizarre concept in my certified feeble mind. I pay to see a show, not a personal request list.
Blue Letter is a Fleetwood Mac song! It's on their album, and they have performed it many times. Just because it was written by someone other than a band member doesn't discount it. And it's not unusual for artists to spread their wings in live shows and perform other material other than their own. Fleetwood Mac, in comparison, is pretty tight and conservative with their set lists, never performing songs from the artists that influenced and informed their own style.
Tom Petty comes to mind. He has thrown in a lot of cover songs in his sets over the years; old songs from somewhat obscure artists that helped form him into the artist he is today. A good performance is a good performance, regardless of its origin. I don't think his audience complains that it show wasn't worthy their money because he didn't make it a greatest hits show.
I get how you feel. I try to release myself of too many exceptions; otherwise I set myself up for certain disappointment. But I would very much welcome an unexpected, out of nowhere song, or at the very least, they opened their set with a song they never opened with before. That simple change would be an exciting change. Is that too radical?

Is it honestly so hard to come up with a setlist for these guys? I mean seriously, this took me like 5 minutes;
Monday Morning
Dreams
Say You Love Me
Gypsy
What Makes You Think You're The One
Hold Me
Big Love (Full Band)
Rhiannon
Everywhere
**Acoustic**
Never Going Back Again
Landslide
You Make Loving Fun
Seven Wonders
Everywhere
Oh Well
Get Like You Used To Be
Angel
I'm So Afraid
Gold Dust Woman
Tusk
Silver Springs
Isn't It Midnight
Go Your Own Way
**Encore**
The Chain
Don't Stop
Say Goodbye
Songbird
Boom, the hits, some pre-75 cuts and at least one cut from every album featuring Lindsey, Stevie and/or Christine. It's not hard AND they still get the hits/standards in. Theres really no excuse....

But Stand Back fit the setlist of last two tours very well, I was at both tours.
Itīs very different to all other Fleetwood Macīs songs, itīs kind of waking up song, energic. I remember the feeling, the whole arena became more live. Itīs faster then most of FM songs too.
Itīs just my favourite song, so I like to see it live... nothing special... I donīt care about Fleetwood Mac or Stevie solo... Stevie will probably never do solo tour in Europe anymore... so at least something... I have never seen and will probably never see Edge of seventeen or any other her solo stuff... let me experience some of her solo stuff on Fleetwood Mac concert...
I hope they will change it for Europe tour next year... our taste is little different I think... look at the popularity of Tango and Behind the Mask albums here and in USA...
if you say that Stand Back is Stevieīs solo song, I could say that Oh well is Peter Greenīs song... Lindsey should not do Go Insane too like he did few times... but I donīt mind, itīs good to have varied setlist... itīs just show, why to make some stupid rules...
but still, nothing can make me sad about this, Christine will be back and I stil canīt believe it :) yeah:]

I am surprised Sisters is back in. I loved hearing it last tour. But it is not as good as 1982. I don't know why Everywhere made it. Heard it on the Dance and it does nothing for me. I don't think Brown Eyes will work well. Maybe I am wrong. I'd replace Sisters with Seven Wonders. I'd replace Everywhere and Brown Eyes with Why and Over My Head/Hold Me. And this shows 23 songs. Thought they did 24 so it's possible Stand Back just not listed.

Yes they played SYLM on 09 tour.

If their recent activity is any indication, it's doubtful there would be any changes once the set is established....
In 1997, after the first show they swapped in Second Hand News instead of Eyes of the World and then I don't believe made any changes afterward.
In 2003, they made some changes during the first dozen or so shows, but that mostly revolved around adding/dropping new songs from SYW. During the 2004 leg of that tour, they changed a couple of songs (Sara for Gypsy, Red Rover, tried out Don't Let Me Down Again one time).
In 2009, other than the dropping of Silver Springs on a few nights, I don't think they made any adjustments.
In 2013, I don't think the set changed one time?
At the newark show, they dropped Silver Springs because stevie was struggling with her voice.
And I believe that at one of the European shows, they performed a very abridged set because of a technical malfunction.
I guess they aren't changes but they did veer twice.
I wish Steve would sing Storms again.
She's said before its one of her favorites- if not her favorite- yet she won't do it solo and appears that it will be skipped over this time.

"New" as in recently written? Or, "new" as in it hasn't been in the set for a while?
Either way, it shouldn't take all that long to learn songs...especially ones that have just been written. That's how songs grow is to play them night after night. That's how they changed the vocal arrangements on "You Make Loving Fun"...they put it in the live set for a couple of months in '76, then as the background vocal parts changed & grew on the concert stage, they went back in the studio & turned it into the song we now know & love.
As for songs they just haven't played in a while, there's no way it should take them more than a couple of rehearsals to get them back up to speed. It's not like they have to relearn them from scratch.

I know it won't happen, but an acoustic Seven Wonders could work with Stevie's current range. The acoustic version of Gypsy got RAVES years ago. With Seven Wonders in everyone's recent memory, it would be something "new" and daring. And, it's shorter than Sara :)

I have a friend from home who is a critic in L.A. and he just interviewed Lindsey and Christine
He couldnt tell me much because of the gag order which is in efffect till mid October but I asked if they were any surprises in the set list and he said no it's all to predictable

The only one which isn't is something anyone can knock up in Photoshop in five minutes, tbh. I'm still pretty unconvinced. I want someone to ask for a proof picture, lol.

Other responses, btw, so people can judge for themselves. POSSIBLE setlist spoilers.
So I noticed people had confusion on the inclusion of ‘Carousel’ on @stevienicksofficial’s new album (FYW stevie added some of her own lyrics to it but otherwise it was written by Vanessa Carlton who sang backup with Lori and I), but I assure you the whole song came out like magic, and it is my second favorite song on the album (My favorite is blue water which I co-wrote with stevie Way back in 1978!). The only other co write on 24k gold is I Don’t Care which was written by Dave and stevie in Nashville back in April!
-
Q: What has been your favorite part of working on the new album?
Q: What was your most favorite song to sing with Stevie on her new album?
A: Re-Recording “Blue Water” it came out so pretty and I know you will love it!
Q: does Stevie have a new yorkie puppy?
A: Not sure, I’ll ask her tomorrow at the Fm rehearsal
Also to add the picture with the rehearsed songs Setlist that was on tumblur is fake. We have been rehearsing “24 Karat Gold” at the FM rehearsals.
Q: What is your favorite part of finally doing the whole technology thing? And what has been your favorite song that you have ever gotten to do onstage?
A: I love talking to fans! A song I love that we have never done live is “I Sing For The Things”
Q: Was All The Beautiful Worlds supposed to be on The Wild Heart? It has that Wild Heart-ish sound!
A: 1982 I believe so yes a Wild Heart outtake
[re Blue Water] Thanks! Stevie and I wrote those words together in Maui 1978
Q: Is there any one song you would like to perform live that you haven’t done before or for a long time? FM or with Stevie?
A: I sing for the things
Q: I didn’t know you wrote too! That is totally cool! Well, nice writing girl. Do you rehearse a lot.
A: Yes one of the few songs I co wrote! Yeah we have been rehearsing since mid August and it’s really coming together two new songs “On With The Show” and “24 Karat Gold” have been rehearsed too.
Q: Will Stevie do a solo tour again after she is done with the FWM On With the Show tour?!?
A: Can’t say to much, but Summer 2015
Q: How do you feel about the fan fiction people we it on tumblr what not about you? Is it amusing? Or does it bug you?
A: I don’t read all of it, but I just want you to know stevie and I never had an affair
Q: Was wondering if there were any demos you wish Stevie would have chosen for this project, but didn’t?
A: Julia I guess, but she didn’t record it because it was to personal
Q: also excited to see FM in October, will ‘Sara’ be in the set?
A: Yes
Q: Would you say that Stevie fans are pretty cool! etc
A: You’re all very cool!

Yeah, and just because she's being specific (ie. Blue Water being written in Maui, '78, rehearsals being in August, ect.) this isn't proof that it's her. These are all facts that most Stevie fans know already.

Yeah I guess your right. And even the I don't care fact anyone of us could make a guess it was newly written since we can't recognize the song at all.
Which actually contradicts what stevie herself said that the latest song on 24kg was written in 95. Although stevie is the LAST person to trust with facts like that. Plus carosoul is obviously after that 95 cut off too.
Wow I just argued myself in that last paragraph.

about the setlist.. Just kick back, roll a doobie, and enjoy the show. I've been a fan since 1976 and I'm glad the "fireflies" are still hitting the stage. I don't care what their motive is (love of music, money, etc.) - I'm just happy to see this band, that I love, on stage playing the music that I love. In DC and I'm seeing them on Halloween... Rhiannon, Sisters of the Moon, Gold Dust Woman.. my witchy woman on October 31. Christine McVie back in the band. Lindsey Buckingham hotter than ever.. and that twosome, Mcvie and Fleetwood, setting the tone. It don't get much better than this. :]:

Somehow I don't see Lindsey letting Stevie toss a solo song besides Stand Back in there. They both have their one solo staple for FM and that's it.

"Was just asked the following: I heard FM are doing 24 Karat Gold on tour, any truth to that?
The band are not rehearsing any of the tracks from Stevies upcoming solo album. She has loose plans to do a short tour next year in between Mac dates, resting and recording the Mac album.
Big things for the Mac and its members 2015."

After some thought and consideration, I'm also beginning to wonder if the "set list" posted is authentic. I've only skimmed through the posts, so someone educate me. What proof do we have that the "set list" is accurate? The running order of the list has some odd sequencing. Also, I think Stevie would at least want to mention that she has a new record out by sampling one of the tracks.....and telling a long drawn out story about how she decided to hold off on a solo tour in favor of spending stage time with her dear friend Chris McVie, who she's been begging to return.
It also seems the Mac would want to let casual audience members know that a NEW album is in the works by playing one of the new tracks.

Glad Stand Back is gone. It makes me wince in a Fleetwood Mac set list.
I've never liked Don't Stop. Ever. But I know they have to play it
Sara from last year's tour was pretty incredible. It should be in this year's set.
Same for Gold Dust Woman.
Say You Love Me should be full band, electric and loud. And at the top of the set.
I don't ever have to hear Rhiannon again. It's been phoned-in on the last 3 tours.
Brown Eyes is amazing live. Glad it's coming back with Chris.
Would love to hear Honey Hi.

The "set list" matches what was seen and glimpsed in the Rolling Stone picture featuring Lindsey and Christine in front of the set list board. The board also has some of the songs in the weird running order (like Don't Stop being before Go Your Own Way, You Make Loving Fun coming after The Chain). If the list is faked, that part wasn't made up as it was photographic proof at the time that they were at least rehearsing in that order. It also suspiciously matches the way the Mac conducts their set lists in general (changing only a few certain things and the core elements staying exactly the same tour to tour).
I think that is at least why the list is gaining a bit of traction around here. It seems believable, there's not too many "out there" picks, it's similar enough to last years list while still being different, and it's about the right number length wise. Not to mention its similarity to the list featured in RS. As for the new album, I'm betting we only get acknowledgement from Lindsey that something is "on the way" similar to what we got in 2009.
Hope that helps a little.

It'll be interesting if we finally have a real leaker on the web and not a fraud.

Agreed! I've only seen them twice in 2004 Raleigh and last year in Charlotte. Was too young to go to the Dance tour and had tickets for Greensboro '09 but when it got cancelled, I had already arranged to have that day off from work and they wouldn't let me reschedule to go to the Charlotte show so had to skip it. I've seen them in all three places, last year's Charlotte show was my favorite. We got rid of our first set of tickets that were at the very back of the floor, bit the bullet and bought Stubhub tickets and were finally able to get close. That was so exciting. (I have horrible luck trying to buy decent seats on my own) I'm usually the one complaining that everyone is standing up because I'm so short I can't see a thing over everybody. Then I found that being on the eighth row I finally felt really part of the experience and I danced my butt off the whole time. I haven't been lucky enough to see Christine as part of the show, so I was really hoping they would venture close enough to experience that. I'll stay optimistic and we'll see if anything else materializes in the next few months.

NOOOO  Sorry, I love Stevie's songs so much (honestly, it's her songs I'm looking forward to the most) but why oh why are they once again bringing Stand Back into a Fleetwood Mac set?? I get it's one of Stevie's greatest hits, but you don't see her bringing EO17 into their set. It's a Stevie solo song, and should remain that way. Another reason it bugs me is because with Christine's return (which I'm so excited about) Stevie's numbers are naturally more limited, and Stand Back seems like a waste of an opportunity to bring back one of her FM tracks (Sara, Angel, or Beautiful Child to name a few). Oh well .

I'm really only worried about Sara. I really hope Sara is on the set.
i was resigned to that stupid setlist that was going around because at least i was looking forward to most of Christine's songs (although wanted Hold Me bad!), and i was sooooooo happy that the 2 songs i was dreading every single time i saw them last tour were finally gone! yes there is no WATL that i want to hear so bad live, but at least Sara and Stand Back are gone! if Stand Back is really back in, with my luck Sara probably is too. i feel deflated. :(
although we've seen articles like this earlier in the year where the writer was speculating on the must play songs and stating them as facts, or even band members listing them, and those turned out to not be correct... so however much i'm hoping Hold Me is correct, i really really hope it''s just writer's wrong speculation on Stand Back.

Also, what's his deal on WATL? You even made a special request. He doesn't get that fans want something else from Tusk? He's the one with the fewest hits anyway; he's not bound to do 5-6 songs like Stevie is.

I had a similar thought. I do not tweet but I looked up the USAToday writer to see if she tweeted any additional comments. She was laid off and her last day at the paper was Sept 3 so I assume the int was done by then. Not trying to stir the pot but I take setlist mentions with a pinch of salt.

Yes, the interview must have been done by then. However, most - all - major news publications fact check and revise up until the minute it goes live. So this may have been written weeks ago, but it definitely wasn't sent out to be produced until probably Monday at the latest.

I realize that and I hope that the article setlist is current and correct. I would be thrilled to have Hold Me in the set, yet the tumblr list dated 9/2 indicated Hold Me was amongst the songs rehearsed and dropped. However, that could be false info.
Needless to say this makes me all the more eager for first night confirmation of what is in /out.

In the new issue of Rolling Stone there's an interview with Stevie in which she says that she put "Seven Wonders" back in the Fleetwood Mac set because of American Horror Story and their sound guy said, "I'm not familiar with that song." And Stevie says, "That's because you were two when it came out."
I hope they keep it in

NOOOO  Sorry, I love Stevie's songs so much (honestly, it's her songs I'm looking forward to the most) but why oh why are they once again bringing Stand Back into a Fleetwood Mac set?? I get it's one of Stevie's greatest hits, but you don't see her bringing EO17 into their set.
How dare you even summons the spirits of Edge of Seventeen! ;) But you make a the point very clear. Stand Back is a signature solo song in the same way Edge of Seventeen is. I can't believe it has been in Fleetwood Mac's set since 1987, and a live version was included on The Chain box set. Even choosing a lesser known, more Fleetwood Mac-ish solo song would have been more acceptable.

Interesting if true, and should please some more than the previous version they posted. That tumblr user http://musicman01031975.tumblr.com/ has posted another supposed setlist. This one has an 'as of 9/8' date on it and they posted this message above it:
Been sitting on this for a while. It’s close enough to show time that I don’t think people will be actively looking for spoilers until day of but fans are in for some massive surprises. The list was tinkered with and modified after the first initial run through of the set, as of TODAY this is still the current standing setlist. Everything is ready to go and in case certain songs don’t play well first few nights, some back ups have been chosen just in case but I think Mac fans are going to thoroughly enjoy this show. The band wanted it to be a fan’s dream reunion setlist and I think they’ve nailed it.
See you out on the winding roads.

So in comparison to the setlist supposedly from nearly a week before this one, we have Brown Eyes moved up between IKINW and Tusk. Hold Me and Seven Wonders take the place of Gypsy before Little Lies. Stand Back has been added between So Afraid and Don't Stop, and Blue Letter has been added between World Turning and Silver Springs.

If that last setlist is real...I will not mind dropping hundreds of dollars to get close. Even without Sara (AHHH, to hear Christine's harmony and piano on that would be AWESOME) I am very excited. I'll be happy regardless, but that's a pretty great set. Not too much longer to know for sure! Come on Pittsburgh show!

My only hesitation is that Gypsy isn't on there. If they're stuck on doing the hits...that would be on there, right? Oh well...I've heard it more than once. Though I'd gladly drop Rhiannon for that (or Sara  )

I bet money that if Sisters of the Moon isn't working, or Stevie wants to drop that, Sara will take its place.
This set looks really good. Yes, Stand Back is back, but that end is going to be rocking!! Gold Dust, So Afraid, Stand Back, Don't Stop, Go Your Own Way, World Turning, Blue Letter....wowowowow!!!! They are gonna get the fans crazy!!
I probably would have dropped Silver Springs, put Gypsy in the acoustic part, and moved Landslide for the end. Maybe Stevie won't get rid of Silver Springs just to continue to remind her bandmates how they were wrong to drop it from Rumours? Why didn't they just put it on Tusk, then?--always wondered that. She probably does Stand Back because she wants to have a rocker for the arena show...I mean it doesn't get more exhilarating than that. But with so many uptempo songs in a row, without Stand Back, she would've had room for Sara or Beautiful Child or Angel earlier. I don't think she'd realistically drop Rhiannon, though she said she used to. Still, Sisters could fall out if it's dead like it was last year.
It's nice to see Lindsey put in a song he hasn't done for a long time. Blue Letter is a blast, if they play it uptempo like they used to.

That is almost the best possible setlist they could realistically come up with if that is the actual set. In my perfect world hold me would be replaced by oh daddy and everywhere with any pre 75 Chris song. But that's being really picky. I'm most impressed that both sisters and seven wonders are being done over Sara and gypsy. And just that blue letters in at all is great. I have a feeling that gypsy and Sara are on stand by if the band chickens out in a few dates.

I like playing this game
Stevie
If Sisters is the same as the last tour, my preferences:
1. Beautiful Child
2. Sara
3. Angel
If Silver Springs is dropped:
1. Replace with Acoustic Gypsy; replace Landslide earlier in the set, move Landslide to encore
2. Crystal
3. Fireflies
If Stand Back is dropped, add one of the above songs but not in that place in the setlist.
-----------------------------
Christine
If Everywhere or Hold Me is dropped, my preferences:
1. Oh Daddy
2. Isn't It Midnight
3. Why
-----------------------------
Lindsey
I'm fine with Blue Letter. I Know I'm Not Wrong, however, isn't the most inspired choice from Lindsey. Options:
1. What Makes You Think You're the One
2. The Ledge
3. Walk a Thin Line
If he replaces one of his other songs, like Second Hand News or Never Going Back:
1. Say You Will: Bleed to Love Her
2. Tribute to Peter Green: Black Magic Woman, Albatross, Oh Well

My exact feelings. Seeing that Seven Wonders and Little Lies are possible contenders (Little Lies being the most likely) made me feel a little better about the set list. Still really bummed that 'Sara' is out (although SOME people are absolutely exhilarated lol) with Christine being back, her piano contribution would have made this song really special this tour. So the decision to take it out just seems odd. Since I'm feeling especially wishful, I'll just also put it out there that I'd like to see 'Gypsy' performed acoustically someday. Why it was only performed like this once is beyond me.

Everywhere is a hit - has to stay
Seven Wonders is a hit - has to stay
Silver Springs is a hit for all intents and purposes- has to stay
My fave Stevie song is Stand Back so I literally can not believe I'm saything this but I would drop it for Gypsy which is a hit and has to stay
I also love Sisters but Sara is a hit and has to stay
I'm fine tho with a deep cut from Christine so I guess Brown Eyes is fine but I really would prefer Think About Me or Love In Store or Over My Head.
Replace Blue Letter with Monday Morning or Bleed To Love Her and I'm good.
Now the NEXT tour supporting the new album can drop as many hits as they want and put back deep cuts or Sisters and Stand Back etc then. But this tour should be celebrating the hits from this line up. This is what my family and I imagine, 95% of the audiencea expect.

Sara did have a keyboard/piano part in the last tour, covered by Lindsey's friend. I still hold that the single missing thing to that song is Lindsey's guitar-playing. If you listen to how they used to play it live, his arrangement used to be so much more interesting, driving the piece forward. When I hear it, I keep listening for his guitar in the short break between the intro "But you never told me 'bout the fire" and the first verse, but it never comes any more. Same for Sisters of the Moon and even Say You Love Me. Arrangements matter; you give both a more acoustic-like, softer guitar part and then they simply don't rock, at all.

IMaybe Stevie won't get rid of Silver Springs just to continue to remind her bandmates how they were wrong to drop it from Rumours? Why didn't they just put it on Tusk, then?--always wondered that.
If they'd gone the "let's recreate Rumours" route, I'm pretty sure that "Silver Springs" might've been used for the next album...but, because they were doing the "ANTI-Rumours" album, it was left on the backburner. Plus, as with most songwriters, whatever they've just written is better than what they had leftover, so she wanted her latest songs on the next album rather than a retread (read: reject) from the previous album.
That really is a decent set list!
Other than not having anything from prior to '75 (only one that I'm missing is "Oh Well"...even though I hate the way Lindsey does it, I'd still rather it be IN the set rather than not) or anything new (why they can't fit ONE of the new Christine/Lindsey songs in the set is just a shame), I think it's a pretty good set list. Granted I've heard them all before (most many times)...so nothing new. Most likely will NOT be going (that is, unless I happen to win tickets from a radio station giveaway). But, I'll download a decently recorded bootleg from the tour (or buy the live album from the tour, should they record & release one later on).

Good point! I wish I had been around to see those shows in the 70s and 80s. I would have given everything to see FM perform at the peak of the band's career. When I see those videos of Sara and Rhiannon and Dreams and Sisters of the Moon, they're so emotional for me. I wish my parents would remember their experience seeing the band, but they don't.

Seven Wonders hmmm, unless Stevie's willing to take a few vocal leaps, seeing as she has less vocals to do this tour due to Christine, i'm not so sure about it. Might be another "lower harmony" snoozefest. Not a huge fan of what she's doing with Sisters these days to be honest. I'd personally prefer she drop a key or 2 to sing the solo like the record. Kinda like Lindsey does.
Besides that it looks pretty exciting, Blue Letter, Hold Me wow! Anxiously awaiting youtube clips Wednesday morning, and a potential UK tour!

QUESTION: How will Stevie's harmonies sound on "HOLD ME"---will she attempt it, or just stand by the drum kit and shake a ribbon covered tambourine while Sharona and Lori do all the work? PLEASE PLEASE let us hear STEVIE'S raspy low register "SHA-LA-LA's" on "Brown Eyes".

I can't wait to hear how they sound on the Little Lies chorus. I just hope Lindsey doesn't ham it up, his "Tell me, tell me lies." I guess I have his version of Say You Love Me still in my head. Billy Burnette did a pretty good job for their live version in 1987.

The music industry standard for recognizing a band's "hits" is not based on the iTunes chart, but the Billboard Hot 100.
iTunes is not an accurate gauge of a "hit," because Apple only tracks purchases made through its own service -- nowhere else. Billboard factors together commercial sales, radio airplay, and digital downloads (including Amazon.com's digital sales).
As such, these are Fleetwood Mac's "hit singles" in the USA, and anything else is simply a "radio favorite" or "fan favorite":

I made up my mind to be satisfied with whatever they settle on for a set list.
There are lot of hopes and personal expectations, but I feel no empathy for fans already anticipating they will bummed out if this or that song isn't in the set. It's an impossibility for the band to fulfill everyone's wishes. They would have to perform a four hour set! They are not Bruce Springsteen.
My positives:
Christine is back.
You Make Loving Fun following The Chain is the perfect transition to Dreams. Great call to whoever thought of it. Dreams was always an abrupt energy buzz kill after the build up of The Chain.
If we live to hear the Seven Wonders, I'm not going to compare Stevie's vocal to the original recording, which I always found to be a cocaine-induced shrill in the verses. If anything, I bet I will enjoy the song more with her voice as it is now.
They are essentially performing the entire Rumours album, sans the perpetually ignored I Don't Want to Know. Usually I would complain about that, but this may likely be their last tour together. So it not only placates the mass of causal fans, it honors one their most lauded albums, one that will always keep close company among the highest esteemed albums of all time.
It will be the first time Little Lies will be performed live with Lindsey in the band. And if it's true, I welcome the return of Hold Me. Strange that it was a big hit, yet a one tour song, appearing again only on Christine's solo tour.
I like the four block set of Tusk songs. I'm unclear if Stand Back will be back. I read (something about someone in the band being upset) that a particular song was cut from the set. (Gee...I wonder whose song that could be?)
It would be nice if they were a little loose and swapped different songs and varied the set during the tour, but they are not that kind of band. Aside from a few adjustments early on, their set list is set in stone.

Stevie must really hate I Don't Want to Know.
This song and Angel I still hope they perform someday before they retire. Although I would love to hear others too for the first time like Paper Doll, No Questions Asked, Thrown Down, etc... These 2 are the ones that I realisitically feel she'd at least consider

I hope they don't change anything except trade one of Stevie's songs for Sara. Maybe another song for Gypsy also. I hope they don't change any of Christine's songs. I can't wait to hear the crowd when she starts playing Songbird.

Whilst "Seven Wonders" live was never a favourite of mine, I'm very excited to see it in a setlist. It's nice to see Stevie actually acknowlege the years between 1984 and 1997 on stage for the first time in 14 years.

I think Seven Wonders will be great. The opening music is going to be a great grabber to many. I think it is going to do well in the set.
I LOVE Gypsy. I find it to be one of the greatest songs ever recorded. But it just does do well on stage for me. So ........
Replace Sisters with Sara
Replace Everywhere with Over My Head
Replace Brown Eyes with Why
Replace Big Love with Bleed to Love Her
Replace Blue Letter with Say Goodbye
And I think you have one killer set list. And Why, Say Goodbye and Bleed are so much better with the harmonies this band is known for!

This is a quote from an interview on the official FM website so these songs are for sure i think:
In August, the band including bassist John McVie, Christine's ex-husband, who had been battling cancer convened in Los Angeles to rehearse and cherry-pick its fat catalog for a career-spanning set list. Fans can expect a few rarities and surprises atop a bedrock of 10 or 11 landmarks, including Rhiannon, The Chain, Go Your Own Way, Big Love, Stand Back and McVie's Say You Love Me, Little Lies and Hold Me.

Maybe Stevie won't get rid of Silver Springs just to continue to remind her bandmates how they were wrong to drop it from Rumours? Why didn't they just put it on Tusk, then?--always wondered that.
Tusk was way different in style and sound than Rumours. Silver Springs would not have fit. Plus they released it as the bside to the GYOW single prior to Rumours.

It should have been released as an out and out single to support the album... a bit like the early Beatles singles that never appeared on the original albums they supported.

This is great! Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are amazing. They always perform a few cover songs. I don't think anyone in their audience feel robbed of one of their own songs because of it. If it's a great performance by a great band, it doesn't matter what the **** they play -- none of the bull**** nonsense of "I'm mad because I paid good money to hear the songs I want to hear."

No, this tour is not planned on being filmed. The bands logic is theres no point selling a DVD when there are 30 live versions from the past few months floating around on youtube. However, they are open if there is a special occasion they want filmed.
SAY YOU LOVE ME matches 2009 more musically than the low-key, country feel from 1997.
The songs being held as back-ups in case any tracks fail with the audience;
OH DADDY
OVER MY HEAD
SARA
GYPSY
OH WELL
EYES OF THE WORLD
Stevie has a speech prepared about SEVEN WONDERS and how the song found a new audience with youngsters thanks to American Horror Story.
Final nugget; expect a few words from the band about what to expect album wise. Its coming, I promise.

The no DVD thing pisses me off. It's Christine's big return, shouldn't that be enough of a 'special occasion'? I don't know much about Glastonbury, is that festival televised? If it is, I guess we might as well hope for that then.
Is a speech about Seven Wonders really necessary? As long as it's not 10 minutes about working with Ryan Murphy and getting to act, I'll live.
I'm also kind of happy they're not re-hashing The Dance version of Say You Love Me, was never really that fond of it.

I was hoping Lindsey and Stevie would yield one of their songs to Christine since her songs have not been played for so long. I would love to hear Love In Store and Christine's piano intro to Sara. Brown eyes is one of my favorite songs from Tusk. But I don't think it does well live. Mac did it in 1987. Its a song for a small intimate setting with no crowd noise. But I have faith in Lindsey to make this song work better live.

How do you get that? Little Lies appeared first on a leaked set, then was printed in articles a week or so later. Then Hold Me and Seven Wonders were revealed in somewhat the same fashion. The only real contradiction is Stand Back but thats even if they consider it a 'solo number' anymore.

I'm just trying to keep things straight, although I suppose it doesn't matter this close to opening night. I didn't think we knew about 7W until Stevie mentioned it. That is true. The revised setlist appeared on the internet the same day Stevie mentioned it. Said revised setlist, however, had a date on it of much earlier (8th September), a week after the initial one (2nd September).
As for Stand Back's inclusion or exclusion, it depends when Mick's interview was conducted. The tumblr account had it OFF the first setlist, said Stevie was unhappy about that, and then the revised setlist had it back again. That doesn't necessarily contradict what Mick said if the interview was done between the 2nd and 8th of September. FWIW.

I assume each composer initially brings list of songs they are considering. It's probably during rehearsals that choices and decisions are made.

I believe what he said was "no solo material" but then it comes down to does the band consider Stand Back a solo song or a duel solo/Mac number? It's been done on every Mac tour since '88 if memory serves and was included on a Fleetwood Mac boxset so thats the question of the hour.
Of course, it's entirely possible they added it back in because Stevie wanted it in or wasn't happy about it not being in.
As far as the setlist goes, we also now have Blue Letter to consider. Seeing as that has no written proof in any articles, that's the real questionable entry.

How is opening them up to a new audience more exciting to you than new music or seeing them live yourself?
I just love the band and know what a big deal this would be.
As things stand I feel they are in the twilight of their time together. However, I know they'd go down well at Glastonbury and bands that headline have such a boost in sales, popularity etc. If they play Glastonbury, far from being the end I think it would open a whole new chapter for them as a band.
I'm excited to see them perform with Christine. I'm excited by the prospect of a new album. But to watch them on TV at Glatonbury would be something I never thought I'd see. The media coverage of the Glastonbury festival in the UK is huge- if they play they'll be on the national news.
The Rolling Stones headline performance went down as being a legendary Glastonbury moment. I think FM have the potential to rival that. There are so many people out there that have no real concept of them as a live band- they are such a different entity live in comparison to their recorded music. Theres gonna be so many people sit up and take notice- we could get three more albums on the back of this.
I cant be the only one that gets a real kick out of other people discovering them.

I am a relatively "new" fan, FuzzyPlum, having only really got into them over the past 2-3 years. I agree, if the many rumours are true and they do headline at Glastonbury next year, it will be HUGE news in the UK and will almost certainly introduce a whole new generation of music lovers to them. I think it will be bigger than the Rolling Stones actually, they are that iconic.
I have never seen them perform live but am off to NYC this week to see them at MSG. I have no idea what to expect but feel very lucky to be going!

Yes Blue Letter! I hope that set list is real, it's awesome. It just needs Sara.

Totally agree. Everywhere has always been a boring plodder live. I do hope they change up the arrangement somehow to make it more interesting.
Completely disagree. Everywhere is great live and if people use it as their bathroom break that'll allow me to see the band better lol

I thought Everywhere was great live in 97-98. It kinda sucked live 87-90, it didn't have Lindsey's magic touch.

Excited for you. They are just brilliant live. Be sure to post about your experience.

If the set list is true, I would give it a B+. Very very good. My only changes would be dropping World Turning because it is so long and putting in Love in Store and Isnt it Midnight and Sara. I agree that Sisters is a great song but last tour Stevie phoned it in with no intensity. That song requires intensity. I am not talking about speaking in tongues like in 1982 but some vocal intensity that I don't think Stevie has anymore. I was hoping Lindsey and Stevie would make Chris have one extra song since she was always for so long. But all the songs are divided evenly.
Thank goodness Lindsey is over his 15 minute "Not so funny."

Fuzzy. I am heading to NYC to see them too. Saw them there last tour. Lots of pot! LOL. And don't get too excited. United Center in Chicago and Verizon Center in DC are FAR BETTER VENUES.
