Any other Ledgies going to the Vegas show Sunday night? It would be cool to say hi.

Just got home. Loved the show. Not sure where to start. I really haven't kept up with too many of the reviews of the other shows, and I could never top Michele's, but hopefully I can hit the high points. First of all, I would have to say that Stevie seems the happiest she's been on a Fleetwood Mac tour since The Dance, very present and engaged. For me, her first two songs were her weakest. With Dreams, the problem seemed to be that she was buried in the mix; it almost sounded like Lindsey was singing the chorus solo. Rhiannon didn't quite click either, but after that she was golden. Which leads me to a question.....are those two songs just hard for her to sing (and thus probably not good ones to open with), or does she just need a couple numbers to get warmed up?
Sad Angel was great, and everyone seemed to enjoy it, which is nice for a new song. I thought Without You was great too, and I think Stevie's speech was similar to other nights, although when she said FM really just needed a brilliant guitar player, Lindsey chimed in that "luckily they realized they also needed a brilliant lead singer." I'm not sure if that has been part of the script, but Stevie seemed surprised by it and said that it was very sweet of him to say that.
I barely heard a word of the Big Love speech because of a bunch of idiots behind me who wouldn't shut the f**k up to save their lives. The song was well received, but I would say the technically-never-a-hit I'm So Afraid blows it away in terms of being a showstopper.
Stevie dedicated Landslide to her goddaughter Amy and to someone who is like a second brother (and he will know what that means), whose name is Cory. After Stevie left the stage, and Lindsey was getting ready to do NGBA, the crowd erupted into Happy Birthday. Stevie came back out to thank us and said something about calling it an un-birthday.....I couldn't hear her exact words over the crowd noise, but it was a really nice spontaneous moment, and everyone gave her a standing ovation. Why didn't I get the memo about singing after Landslide? You Ledgies are supposed to keep me informed! :D
I'm generally not a huge fan of Not That Funny, but I liked it a lot tonight, and EOTW is so great live, even though it doesn't stand out for me on Mirage. I really enjoyed both Sara and Gypsy, and even though we think of them as not translating well to the stage, they both got big reactions from the audience too.
When Mick was introducing the band and got to Stevie, he said he had promised not to say anything but since all of us had already sung to her, he also wished her a happy birthday and said she would kill him later.
Lindsey mentioned at least twice what a good crowd we were, and while I'm sure he says that every night, he may very well have meant it. The crowd ate up every moment of the show tonight, and that's not always the case in this town.
I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff, so if I think of anything else I will post more in the morning.

Thanks Mike. I wonder how everyone knew just when to sing Happy Birthday at the same time. Maybe they organized on Facebook.
Oh, that's really fun to read that Lindsey said that FM needed a brilliant lead singer too and she seemed pleased.
Stevie does seem happy this tour. I hope it lasts and I hope that she doesn't say a couple of years ago that she hated it.
So glad you had a great time. I know what you mean about Vegas crowds. Sometimes they're not there because they are enthusiastic fans, but just because they happen to be in town and the locals have seen so many acts in every week that they've seen it all. So, when you bring the house down in Vegas, you know you're on top of your game.
Thanks for the report.

A few more things I wanted to mention:
Michele, you made that really funny comment about Stevie saying SOTM hadn't been done since 1981 and that she was getting closer, and we would get her to say 1982 eventually. Well last night after SOTM, she just said thank you with no mention at all of when the song was last done. I guess she's tired of trying to guess right. By the way, after reading some mixed reviews of the song, I thought it totally worked, and there's no reason she shouldn't sing it more often.
During the Landslide intro, Stevie said she had written it in 1973 and had no idea it was going to become such a hallmark song for her and FM. This made me laugh because wasn't it just last year's solo tour when she was saying that after she wrote it, she knew it would be an important song?
There were a few twirls at the end of Gypsy, but not during the middle of Stand Back. Was last night an anomoly, or did that change after she hurt her knee?
Also, I haven't been watching YouTube videos, so I don't know if this is typical, but the GDW wail was really great. I hope video of it turns up because it's already such a clouded memory, but it was like it had two parts; she did the normal thing, then paused and added more. After seeing it so many times, this song really seemed to have new life.
OK, I think I'm done now.

And I was thinking she did a great drawn out "dragoooon" during GDW as well. She usually does try to spin a little as they show a close up of Neale playing on the big screen during Stand Back. Her injury must be still on the mend.

Las Vegas Weekly, by Josh Bell May 28, 2013
http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/news/2013/may/28/classic-evening-fleetwood-mac-sticks-hits/
A classic evening: Fleetwood Mac sticks to the hits
With only a handful of exceptions, Fleetwood Mac’s show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena this past Sunday was all about the classics. Over the course of two and a half hours, the band drew almost exclusively from the five albums made by its classic lineup (Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood, plus the absent Christine McVie), to the obvious delight of the packed crowd. That meant plenty of hits, of course, from “The Chain” and “Dreams” early in the set, through “Landslide” and “Go Your Own Way,” culminating in “Don’t Stop,” the only Christine McVie-penned song the band played.
McVie’s absence (she retired from the band in 1998) was felt not only in the set list’s lack of her songs, but also in the band’s vocal harmonies, which were augmented by two back-up singers. While Buckingham sounded a little rough at first, he quickly warmed up, but Nicks’ voice sounded strained and uneven the entire night. It was especially evident as she tried to belt out sustained notes on songs like “Sisters of the Moon,” and when she filled in for McVie’s parts on “Don’t Stop.”
Musically, the band was in top form, and Buckingham’s intricate guitar-playing was a particular highlight. The set list made room for a few deep cuts alongside the expected popular songs, and even the new “Sad Angel” (from the band’s recent EP) fit well with the classics. The show ended with both Nicks and Fleetwood giving what sounded like awards-show acceptance speeches, and as self-indulgent as that was, they had earned it.

I can't say I'm surprised, In fact I'd go as far as saying I'm pleased. If this 2013 tour ends up being the final FM tour, they're going out on a high note as a touring outfit. Not only has this tour been incredibly successful & lucructive, I read somewhere that it just may end up becoming FM's most profitable tour ever!
For me, without substantial new material to look forward to (new full length cd) I'm content to to see this tour end and look forward to new projects from both Stevie & Lindsey solo.
Wonder what this means for the much ballyhooed Buckinham Nicks re-release? I'd venture a guess that all talks have stalled - I don't believe Lindsey & Stevie are ever going to be on the same page about how to unveil it's release.

I am saying when this tour ends, whether you saw it in Aukland or Vegas, it will likely be a long time before the Mac tours again. Everyone saw the same show, essentially. It has been a good tour. That's it.

The songs in the show may be the same, but the Vegas vibe in the audience, especially so close to NYE, is inevitably going to change the show and its energy. I'd love to be in Auckland, but that's not feasible. I'm sure the atmosphere will be extraordinary, heightening the experience for performers and crowd.

I believe FM77 when she says Vegas is the last show of the tour. She knows what she's talking about.

lol, you are good - none of this answers my questions. "when this tour ends" doesn't mean that Auckland or Vegas will be the last show of this tour. theoretically this tour may end in 2013. or 2014. or 2015... ;) whether people saw it in Columbus, Auckland, Vegas, London, or Stuttgart.
what everybody would like to know is whether there will be a spring leg of this tour, or can we hope to get solo acts back instead. and some like CAD would like to know whether she'll get BN instead.
I believe FM77 when she says Vegas is the last show of the tour. She knows what she's talking about.
i'm with you - i believe she knows what she's talking about.
but she didn't say that Vegas is the last show of this tour. she did insinuate that and maybe that's what she was trying to say, but she did not state that.
As of today, there are no plans to extend this tour into 2014. Vegas was added over a month ago but announced this week.

Mine are decent, not great. For the Vegas show a couple months ago, I waited to buy until the week of the show, and I was stressed about it for months. This time I just decided to grab two tickets, and if the opportunity arises to upgrade I will.

Trying to get tickets yesterday was frustrating. There was so much demand the website froze up and was not showing any tickets for a good 5 minutes. I was looking for a single seat and when I finally got one I was happy with...Sec B 8th row, I grabbed it. I was logged in to my TM account but it still went out to my CC bank to verify, then it froze. I lost the ticket. This happened twice and then I couldn't access the TM site any longer, apparently they thought I was a bot :(
In desperation, I called TM and explained what had happened, by now it is about 10:40, and the guy says, well I have Sec A, 3rd row. I said grab it! He could hear the desperation in my voice and assured me he had it, so I'm very grateful. Still didn't believe it till I printed it, but all is good. I am still unable to access TM, even after resetting my router.

Going into Ticketmaster at 2:00 p.m. (Pacific) yesterday, I saw one third row seat in Section C. I thought that was pretty amazing, given the time that had passed, since the tickets went online. On one hand it was $241 and I wanted to buy it. On the other hand, I just can't see Vegas at that time of year.
As for extending the tour, I don't think there will be another "leg", but I think there will be more dates after 12-30-13. I'm not planning on them, because I don't know where they will be, so I couldn't hope to attend anyway.

So as of now, the MGM Grand Garden Arena has no event posted for New Year's Eve. I suppose that could change any time, but it's hard for me to imagine one of the largest venues in Las Vegas sitting empty on what is probably the biggest money-making night of the year. I wonder if Fleetwood Mac's private concert is there that night, and the whole thing was set up as a package: Have the band come in, do a public show on the 30th to rake in the dough for both the band and the casino, and then do the private show the next night for MGM's VIPs or whatever. It would certainly be convenient, not having to lug the whole stage set-up down the street to some other venue. I wonder if it's worth hanging around down there on New Year's Eve.....that got me into Stevie's ReMax show earlier this year.

Sounds like a plan and I think so many people will be otherwise occupied that night -- even those invited to the corporate event -- that that would increase your chances. Michele

As of today, there are no plans to extend this tour into 2014. Vegas was added over a month ago but announced this week.
Now is that confirmed they will close this tour out on this date and no 2014 dates.
I'm alittle surprised.
Like in 2003 they went into 2004 but they had a legit album release to support.
OK .Those of you that are going.Have a great time at the show.

Hi guys, I'm going to the Dec 30 show in Vegas, and I'm SO excited...but just curious if anyone has heard anything about the secret/private show they're doing in Vegas on Dec 31? It would be so cool to know what the show is and where, for whom....I'm guessing that info isn't public though :(
Anyone know anything?

I don't think anyone here knows for sure, but there's another thread about Vegas, and I posted that the Grand Garden Arena at MGM currently has nothing scheduled for New Year's Eve, which seems HIGHLY suspicious to me. I'm guessing the private show is there as well.

Threads have been merged....thanks Moderator. I have no idea who the show would be for. Maybe it's something MGM is doing on its own....otherwise an outside party is paying a boatload of money to both rent the arena AND pay the band.

Wouldn't it be kind of sad if it was a show for Toyota salesmen? Like they would get FM for New Year's Eve and they probably wouldn't even be that excited about it.

Yes, but I feel like that's what most private shows are probably like. Of course, the less excited the attendees are, the more likely they might sell me one of their tickets.

Will do. If the secret gets out, it will posted here on the Ledge. I'm in Section 17, fairly decent. I couldn't get anything close enough to the stage on the floor to make it worth it.

I'm also wondering if there will be a New Year's Eve show added.
Today I was driving on the 91 freeway in L.A. and I saw a billboard/ad for the Dec. 30 show. Of course there was no photo of the Mac, just "Fleetwood Mac Dec. 30 MGM Las Vegas" but what I noticed on my return trip was that above Fleetwood Mac was "New Years Show."
What does that mean!?! Dec. 30 is not new years, it's not even new years eve.
Shouldn't it read "New Years Eve Eve Show?".

The level of commitment for the Vegas show is no where near what it was for the Aus leg of the tour...Even if John's health is still not up to par by then FM could still do the show with a "guest" bass player...It's only one show...

The fact that my radio station is still giving away tickets for the December 30 show made me wonder the same thing. Would they consider a subsitute bassist if John is not up to it? Obviously there wasn't time to do that for Australia, but they could arrange something for Vegas. Not sure I see the point, though.

My guess is that if John is healthy enough, they will do a Dec 30 and Dec 31 show (filming both with Christine performing on a few songs)

Thanks Michele for the input. And yes it would be wrong if they have shots of two different crowds in the edit. Its like filming an interview with a clock that says 2pm and the director says cut and continue about an hour later at 3pm .
I learned in video production training to avoid filming things that break up the continuity of the video.
Also I think John wont be in the mood for a night of filming ether if he is not feeling good.

Actually - 99% of corporate shows with General session, keynote speakers and known talent are recorded. They usually use clips from the week in the closing video.... The content is property of the corporate client and video ops turn over everything at the end or at post con.... Most of the time when it's not recorded, it's because of strict order by the speaker or talent..... Again, that very rarely happens.
Then you have times like last night where I iphoned the camera TD's monitors (my station was right behind him) and got 6 camera views of the band - which band? Let's just say, they're really good!;)

It could happen with FM since they even wanted to restrict the US Festivals use of their performance. Of course, that was many moons ago when their career was at a different place.
But I meant that it's not being recorded for official FM dvd purposes at a corporate gig.

Hi all! I am a lifelong Fleetwood Mac fan, but had never been to this site before. It looks like you have a great community!
I came here looking for information on John McVie's health status, and to see if anyone had insights as to whether or not the Las Vegas New Years shows would still be proceeding. I found this thread, so I thought I would share some information about the "private" show on NYE.
The NYE event is at the MGM Garden Arena, and it is indeed private. However, it is not a "corporate event"; it is MGM's annual invite only New Years Eve party for their VIPs and high rollers. I have attached a copy of the invite.
The details for the event (referred to as the "fact sheet") is not out yet, but here is the likely set up:
- no one in the stands.
- tables set up on the floor
- pass around hors d'oeuvres to start
- full sit down dinner
- random band during hors d'oeuvres and dinner
- Fleetwood Mac after dinner til end of party post midnight
- not really sure how many people. I would guess around 500.
I will update again if I get my hands on the official fact sheet and update.
Thanks all!

I'm not shocked. Chris wouldn't be under contract for those shows. There could still be a surprise cameo, but it wouldn't be fair to the promoters to have the current standard Fleetwood Mac shows suddenly be Christine's official return to Fleetwood Mac. One is a (current) standard set, the other would be a major event, which would have commanded much higher ticket prices.

I just saw this on Facebook and felt the same--surprised to see tickets on offer. I don't know anything about Vegas and typical sales but thought this would be a big draw.I wish I could go just to see John...and see that he is (hopefully) okay.

Well a quick check on the MGM site reveals that the seats closest to the stage (and they are not all that close) are $240 and price goes down from there the cheapest being $110 for the back corner of the arena...

Sorry if my wording was off--I saw the seats and prices etc just not sure how Vegas shows do generally (for all bands). For example, is NYE big in Vegas but the 30th a bit of a snoozer? Or, is FM in Vegas just not a big draw.
I am not a Vegas person so I have no idea what is the norm, but it was a surprise to see tix available.

The light blue are single seats only. The dark blue means multiple seats are available.

If you go to the MGM seating chart and use the slider in the upper right corner (zoom in) it will show available seats as a blue dot...Some of the sections only have a couple of seats left...So most of tickets have been sold...

Sorry about Atlantic City. I feel lucky that FM play Columbus, as when we moved here we had no idea it was a regular stop.
Vegas would be a thrill, but with children etc I have to limit my whimsical travel (oh how I wished I could have hopped back to London for Christines guesting).
Thanks for all you do to keep us informed and updated!

Stevie has "no idea" what she's doing next. I guess all our speculation about 2014 really is just that.....speculation.
http://www.reviewjournal.com/entertainment/fleetwood-mac-will-bring-famous-catalog-new-songs-mgm-grand-show
It’s maybe the sweetest song that Stevie Nicks ever wrote about her relationship with Lindsey Buckingham, and like their love itself, it was eventually lost.
Penned more than four decades ago, “Without You” is a blown kiss to Nicks’ former beau, written with a constellation of stars in her eyes.
“If I’d not heard your laughter / Maybe I wouldn’t love you,” she wrote, her i’s practically dotted with little hearts. “If I’d not sung your music / I’d not come rolling after you.”
The song was demoed in the early ’70s, and Nicks recalls performing it live on numerous occasions.
“We did it onstage 62 times,” she remembers. “The audience seemed to really love it. We told the whole story of where we lived and how we moved down here. It was like they really got to walk with us through that song. It should have been on a Fleetwood Mac record. But, you know, sometimes things get lost.”
And sometimes they get found.
Some friends of Nicks discovered the song on YouTube a few years back and asked her about it.
“I’m like, ‘Oh my God, this is the song,’ ” she says. “I showed it to Lindsey and he said, ‘Well, we should record it.’ ”
That they did, finally officially releasing the song after all these years on a four-song EP, “Extended Play,” that the group released in April, their first new music in a decade.
Fleetwood Mac has performed the song on tour all year, playing 62 shows total on a trek that officially concludes Monday in Las Vegas.
The group was supposed to do more shows but had to cancel some New Zealand and Australia dates after bassist John McVie was diagnosed with cancer in October.
According to Nicks, McVie is making a full recovery.
“He’s doing great,” Nicks says. “He’s almost done with his treatment, then he’s going to do these shows. It’s always good when you’re going through a little something that’s difficult to be able to say, ‘Well, I’ve got to be onstage on the 30th at the MGM Grand in front of thousands of people.’ It’s going to pull him out a lot faster than we as humans would naturally pull out of situations.”
Besides finishing up her roadwork with Fleetwood Mac for the year, Nicks is also marking the release of her new “In Your Dreams” DVD, which chronicles the making of her 2011 solo album of the same name and was produced by Dave Stewart, best known for his work with the Eurythmics.
“I didn’t really want to film it at first and Dave just looked at me and said, ‘You know what? You’re going to be sorry if you don’t,’ ” Nicks says. “If you’ve ever wanted to make an album with somebody and you’re not a rock ’n’ roll recording artist, this is your movie, because you are going to be sitting right here in the big red chairs and the big red couch in front of the fireplace with Dave Stewart walking around with a guitar and a phone in his ear and a phone in his other hand.
“When it was over, I was devastated,” she adds of how much she ended up enjoying the recording process. “I just sat down on the stairs with my little dog and I just started to cry. I was just horrified that it could ever end.”
Nicks still records and tours steadily on her own, but Fleetwood Mac offers her a different kind of outlet, and the two complement each other.
“There’s something really great about being part of a team, a tribe,” Nicks says. “When you’re a solo artist, you’re out front, and it’s hard for you to even really look back on anything. For me, as a Gemini, when I first started (putting out solo records in-between Fleetwood Mac albums) in 1981 with ‘Bella Donna,’ it has worked beautifully for me all these years because I get bored.”
Nicks definitely doesn’t sound bored on this day, but fully engaged and effusive.
She’s excited about the new year, even though, by her own admission, she doesn’t really know what she’s excited about.
“This has been a long Fleetwood Mac tour, it will end in Vegas, and I have no idea what I’m going to do next,” Nicks says. “That’s kind of the cool thing about being where I’m at in my career. I’m just kind of breathing in and being able to rest in that knowledge right now.”

Thanks for posting.
AMAZING show. The band was on fire and really, really "on". John Mayer and Katy Perry were in the house and backstage. The director for American Horror also there who she dedicated Landslide to as well...Stevie did break down and cry during LB intro during Say Goodbye and had to gather herself to sing it.
Best Sara of the tour; she sounded fantastic. Love LB too, so great. It was a great end of tour night.

Wow - thanks for posting nicole! i would say even more than a tad emotional-- can i ever listen to that song in the same way again?? wish i heard the dedication, but it was prob also the idea that this was the last big show of the tour - that's emotional enough, i suppose-
And did I hear right, that she apologized for crying during the song, while fiddling with her mike ribbons - so sweet - and i loved the curl of a smile (finally!) when she said they would be back next year- :)

I have the audio of Lindsey's intro. The first few words are cut off but trust me when I say that doesn't matter.
My hotel doesn't have wifi and it's on my cell as a voice memo. I actually have that through the end of the closing speeches.
I can email the m4a file but I have no way to upload for the time being.
Is there someone out there who can take the m4a file and upload to media fire or whatever so it can be shared? If so, give me your email.
I also have the landslide dedication and without you intro on another voice memo. Willing to do same thing with that if someone can upload that too.

Great show!!!! Same set list of course, but it was really fun to be there on the "last" night of the tour. John looked thinner, but good. After The Chain Stevie said something to the effect of "As you can see, John McVie is here and doing great" so that was a nice beginning to the show. Everyone looked and sounded great, and they seemed happy with each other and glad to be there.
This is the first show I've seen since May, so I'm not sure exactly how the details of the show have evolved, but I'll try to share some things I noticed. First of all, Stevie was very energetic and didn't seem to need a few songs to warm up as I thought she did in May. How long has she been doing a high kick at the end of Second Hand News? Also, I enjoyed Dreams and Rhinannon more last night than I have in ages, and she did these really cool little vocal runs at the end of each of them. She even put a couple of twirls into Rhiannon! Sad Angel was really great and seems like a lot of fun for both them and us.
For Landslide, Stevie came out and pointed out that she was wearing her 25-year-old beige boots. She mentioned that she wore them during the filming of AHS and she had them on for so long that she knew could wear them for a little while on stage. (Later she changed back to the black ones, and I will say that by the end of the night she looked like she couldn't wait to get out of heels of any kind!)
The Without You intro didn't seem quite as meandering as it had been, but I won't even try to re-create it....maybe a recording will show up in the other thread. I think this is where we learned that Lindsey loves the Katy Perry song Roar although right now I can't recall how that came up. I haven't seen any recent versions of GDW, but that one seemed to really have evolved a lot, and the crowd ate it up as her show-stopper.
Most of Lindsey's speeches (introducing the Tusk mini-set and Big Love) were pretty much the standard fare, but he did go off-script for Say Goodbye as people have mentioned. I hope a recording of the intro turns up, but he dedicated it to Stevie (who he pointed to as "this beautiful lady") and told her he loved her. Then he joked that she was mad because he just made it hard for her to do the song with him. And she was weepy through it, but it just made the song that much more powerful, and everyone really loved it.
It's hard to remember since May, but I thought maybe some of the background visuals had been changed for some of the songs.
More details may come to me later, and I'll add them as I think of them.

We have audio of the WY intro somewhere but he said something along the lines about dedicating it to a beautiful lady that he's loved since he was 16. And that was when she started crying and it only got worse during the song.
Also Mischa Barton and I had a moment during Stand Back. She was kinda getting into it. She was right by my friends and me.

I am upset that Lindsey likes Katy Perry's song though. Is someone forcing you Lindsey? Are you under duress? Is it the 9 year old? She can be put in a foster home you know.

Katy Perry emotional after show
Katy Perry couldn't tweet after seeing Fleetwood Mac live as she was in a state of shock, her boyfriend John Mayer has joked.
Katy Perry was too overcome with emotion to tweet after watching Fleetwood Mac live.
The star and her boyfriend John Mayer had been to see the band perform in Las Vegas, where Stevie Nicks dedicated famous song Landslide to Katy and John.
After the show, John logged on to Katy's Twitter account to tell her fans about the evening.
"John here. Katy can't write because she's getting over Stevie Nicks dedicating Landslide to us at the Fleetwood Mac concert. Unforgettable.
"While I'm at it I have a couple things I'd like to get off my-oh, she's motioning for the phone back. Gotta go!! -JM (sic)" he posted to her 49million followers.
Fleetwood Mac took to the stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in their first performance since founding band member John McVie announced he was to undergo treatment for cancer.
Katy has made no secret of her love and admiration for Stevie in the past.
She revealed earlier this year that Katy's track Roar was her favourite song of the moment, which prompted the 29-year-old to respond with an equally glowing compliment.
"She is a beautiful woman," Katy told SiriusXM. "She just has so many little nuggets of wisdom and sees straight through my soul.
"And she's very kind, and a sweet woman... I'm so honoured that she would make time for me. But I like hearing what people who have gone before me have to say about all this stuff."

And did I hear right, that she apologized for crying during the song, while fiddling with her mike ribbons - so sweet - and i loved the curl of a smile (finally!) when she said they would be back next year- :)

Was the interview conducted recently or just published recently? Often there's a bit of a gap between the two events
Lindsey also told audience members FM were planning on touring summer of 2014.

I'm thinking it was this month. She talks about doing 62 shows on the tour, mentions that John is almost done with his treatment, and says they will be on stage at MGM "on the 30th" as opposed to "December 30th."

When John was introduced, the audience reaction was astounding. So loud, deafening, practically. :) Some people threw roses at him. It was very sweet. Lindsey did indeed say they would tour next summer and Stevie said next year during her speech at the end of the show.

He didn't say anything different but introduced him last instead of Stevie. Someone threw John a rose and he picked if up and tipped his hat.

This is amazing. I've watched it several times now and it slays me every time. Is it me, or does it seem there's a little catch in Lindsey's voice when he sings "for a love we couldn't hold". He clearly says something to her at the end (you can see her reaction and his jaw moving and moving).. and he even seemed a little misty-eyed when they separated to do the group bow.

Fleetwood Mac return with John McVie
Dec. 31, 2013, 9:54 AM EST
WENN
Fleetwood Mac returned to the stage with John McVie on Monday night for the first time since since the bass player's cancer diagnosis.
The rocker's health scare prompted the band to cancel a tour of Australia and New Zealand, but he returned to the stage with the group on Monday for a special end of year show in Las Vegas. The concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena is set to be followed by a private concert on New Year's Eve on Tuesday. Speaking before the first show, frontwoman Stevie Nicks told ABC News Radio that the gigs will be "really good for John" so he can "get back on the treadmill" after undergoing treatment for cancer.
During the concert, Nicks thrilled a pair of famous fans in the audience by dedicating the band's song "Landslide" to John Mayer and Katy Perry. Mayer was so thrilled about the shout out, he grabbed his girlfriend's cell phone and updated her Twitter account, writing, "John here. Katy can't write because she's getting over Stevie Nicks dedicating 'Landslide' to us at the Fleetwood Mac concert. Unforgettable ... While I'm at it I have a couple things I'd like to get off my -- oh, she's motioning for the phone back. Gotta go!! -JM."

I'm still crying, probably since last night and seeing this concert. Although we were far enough back that I couldn't see the emotion on Stevie's face, we could definitely hear it in her voice and hear a catch in the voices of both of them. I also noticed last night, and again in this video, the catch in Mick's voice as well when he said to "look after each other." Thank you so much for posting this, I will truly save forever as it captured the emotion of the entire evening.
So, now i'll do a recap of the event, because I love to read other peoples recaps:
We left at 6am in the morning, and our flight arrived in at noon to Vegas yesterday. Spent the afternoon walking around, and went to the MGM to get a preview of where we were going, as well as pick up our tickets. When we went to the entrance of the concert hall, we weren't allowed in, although we did try and we saw a number of people heading in with special entrance tags on. One of the fellows had long, flowing blondish-gray hair. Later when we were at the show early, we saw him on stage helping to get things set up, so I wonder who it was.......
We arrived at the venue about an hour early. There were a lot of people milling around. I bought one of the zip up sweatshirts, it's really nice and I didn't remember seeing it for sale in New York or Winnipeg. That's not to say that it wasn't available before, but I just didn't remember seeing it.
We found our seats, and then went on a reconnaissance mission to see what we could see. We chatted with a couple of elderly women who were working as ushers, or usherettes. They were very sweet and said that Fleetwood Mac was playing a private concert the next night for a small group, maybe 1000 in the ballroom. Neither were working the next night, but they thought that the band would be staying in the MGM Mansion. Not too sure what that is, but I will google it. It sounded like a private place where big names can stay and have quite a bit of privacy.
The show was scheduled to start at 8pm, but people were still filing in, and so it probably started more like 8:20. Even once it started, people were still arriving. Why you would want to arrive late at this concert was confusing to me............ Anyways, I kept track of the set list, so I could put in up on here, but also because I wanted to compare it to the set list from the Winnipeg show that I took from the stage where Lindsey stood. (We had tickets for Row 1 and we stood right in front of him at that show!!)
Here is the set list:
1. Second Hand News
2. Chain
3. Dreams
4. Sad Angel
5. Rhiannon - not too sure but I think Stevie had a new cape on for this one.
Lindsey said that they wanted to celebrate the Tusk album
6. Not That Funny
7. Tusk - Stevie danced like crazy to this one, she was kicking all over the place.
8. Sisters of the Moon
9. Sara - Stevie and Lindsey were singing to each other quite a bit with this one.
10. Big Love - girls in the front row were yelling at Lindsey during the intro and he commented that he wrote this song before they were born.
11. Landslide- Stevie dedicated to Alfonso-director of American Horror Story (she said that the cream platform boots she was wearing were 25 years old and that she wore them while she was doing AHS and was so impressed with them and that they were so old), and Katy Perry/John Mayer. And she also mentioned that Lindsey loves the song "Roar," which he agreed with.
12. Never Going Back
13. Without You
14. Gypsy
15. Eyes of the World
16. Gold Dust Woman
17. So Afraid
18. Stand Back - was sooooo rockin. Lindsey was just having a blast playing with this song.
19. Go Your Own Way
Encore 1
20. World Turning
Lindsey introduced Mick and then Mick introduced everyone else: Sharon Celani, Lori Nicks, Neil Hayward, Brett Tuggle, Lindsey, Stevie and then John. I thought it was the same order as the other 2 shows, but others thought it was a bit different. The place went crazy for John. The intro for John was the same as the other concerts I thought, but I could be wrong.
21. Dont Stop
Encore 2 People kept leaving, and then all came rushing back in when the encore 2 started.
22. Silver Springs
23. Say Goodbye I will definitely remember this intro and the sadness in Stevie's voice, as well as the video that was put on this thread. I was crying by the time the song was over, and left the concert with red eyes. The show also was much longer than the other 2 shows. It ended right at 11pm, so it would have been about 2 hours, 40 mins.
It was such a treasure to see this show, and esp that it was on my 50th birthday!!! I can only imagine what the show for New Years was, we spent the rest of the evening trying to imagine who was holding it and for what and for whom. If anyone has any idea what the story was about this New Years show, I would love to know. That's all I have.

I agree that it appeared like some of the background visuals for some of the songs had changed since June.

When John was introduced, the audience reaction was astounding. So loud, deafening, practically. :) Some people threw roses at him. It was very sweet. Lindsey did indeed say they would tour next summer and Stevie said next year during her speech at the end of the show.
Wow, those are amazing photos Erin. They are really fabulous. I really loved the ones of Stevie when she was so emotional, you can just see in her face how touched she was. Thank you for posting them for us to see.

Wish I was there, from all the videos that would have been the best show ever! Stevie was on fire!! That's the same bewitching gypsy I feel in love with 16 years ago. (I hope y'all saw the GDW video) Too bad she can keep that kind of energy up through out the whole tour. She is always perfict during the last show of the tours and those random performances she throws out there.

Fleetwood Mac performs at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in Las Vegas.
Legendary group Fleetwood Mac — Lindsey Buckingham, Steve Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, and minus Christine McVie — performed at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Monday night, and contributing photographer Tom Donoghue was onsite for a photo gallery.
Check back later for a review of the concert from A&E reporter Andrea Domanick. For now, enjoy Donoghue’s photographs.

Happy New Year to everyone on this board and thank you for all the video posts. I'm glad I waited until I got home from work to watch Say Goodbye because the tears were streaming down my face! It's funny, I've never cared for that song but after watching that video, I found myself singing as I was getting ready to go out last night. I found Stevie's speech at the end particularly heartfelt, genuine and very sweet.
Gold Dust Woman was beyond amazing. There have been some excellent performances of this song along the way but her commitment in this performance was complete.

Could this year get a better start? I don't think so...
How cool is it to wake up on your birthday (today) and finding a bunch of fantastic, amazing clips from the FM concert in Vegas?!!!:blob1:
Thank you so much everyone for filming and posting!!! I hope you had a great experience at the concert those of you who were there.
So because of that I have worn my "Stevie boots" today in honor of last nights concert. Wishing I would have been there.
And my birthday gift today was that I get to choose a concert of my choice at any place in Europe of my choice during 2014. (The gift from my husband and kids) So I do hope that you meant it Stevie when you said that you guys will be back in 2014 because that would mean that I have secured the financing of at least one FM concert this year.....yeah!!!!
Happy new year everyone!!!:woohoo:

They actually did! The party attendees were louder singing along than at most shows-or maybe it just seemed that way because it was a smaller room!
70 minute set to bring in the new year - and Stevie nailed GDW again-Magical!
A night I will never forget!

The show also was much longer than the other 2 shows. It ended right at 11pm, so it would have been about 2 hours, 40 mins.
It was such a treasure to see this show, and esp that it was on my 50th birthday!!!
I enjoyed all of your concert review but just wanted to mention that all their shows lasted 2 hours and 40 min.
Happy 50th Birthday!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:Milestone Birthday.

Fantastic quality Say Goodbye has been uploaded, though without Lindsey's dedication/introduction. Anyway, remember to prepare yourself before viewing. It's a tad emotional.... No, really. I wept.

Thank you so much. I wept too. And so did my wife. Me twice, first alone, then together. Impressive, how there's so much honesty and reality in the roles they say they play.

You are very welcome... You do so much for the board I just wanted to help you out if I could.. I like cold pizza in the morning (or any other time of the day), you can get all the food groups covered... bread, meat, vegetables (sometimes fruit if you like canadian bacon and ham.. I'm not a fan if It but I know people who are) it's almost the perfect food..so eat up

I agree with you. The role playing is very impressive. I'm glad that ( like Lindsey said) he and Stevie have finally figured out what is real and what is now "the role" :)
Stevie was on fire all night long.. not sure what happened..but something ( or someone ) put a little pep in her step and I love it

My video of Say Goodbye. Super close up because I was right at her feet. If you watch in HD, you'll see the tears on her face the whole time :(
When I tell her, "We love you Stevie," around 10 seconds in, she turns to look at me (it's hard to tell that she did through video but that's just because I had the camera kind of off to my side so I wasn't watching through the screen) with that look in her eyes - I will never forget that. She never really responded to people yelling/saying things to her this show, so it caught me by surprise when she looked down at me. And let me tell you, being on the receiving end of that look was incredibly heartbreaking :( I will never forget that.
(Also, sorry about my friend and I talking a little bit during it. We were losing our **** kind of.)

It is hard watching Stevie's reaction here, maybe with John coming back too she already felt emotional? We all know much of the interaction with Lindsey is for show, but this was as real as it gets. She did look more sad than I've ever seen her, did she seem ok as they left the stage?
Must have been a great show to see anyway:)

Nah, that was my friend who was the one who originally said it during the Jones Beach show (I wasn't at that show though) so she repeated it in Vegas and a couple others in my group joined in :)
Also, there are some pictures/shorter videos (one of Stevie being ADORABLE while dancing during World Turning) on my Instagram here (http://instagram.com/alliefunky), if anyone's interested.
