Is Karen somehow a bad influence on Stevie? I hesitate to judge people I don't know without evidence I can see for myself.... unless they're celebrities. Then I feel free to speculate about their motives and personalities whenever I please, even with only a modicum of "evidence" to support my theories. Hypocritical? Perhaps. Sue me.

With regard to American Idol, Stevie saved this season for me. It's been rather dull with the exception of a few stellar performances here and there.

The one getting the most praise, Jessica, does nothing for me. Last week, while the judges were weeping and gnashing their teeth at the fact that she got the lowest number of votes in a nauseating display of favoritism as they "saved" her, I was not surprised. America doesn't like to be told who they should vote for and Jessica has very little personality. I expect Jessica will last a couple more rounds, then once again be gone - and none too soon.

I hope the judges have some of Paula's medications laying around that they can take on that occasion, or we may see Randy and Jennifer have nervous breakdowns.

Stevie gave us the most exciting moments of the season, and I don't just say that as a hardcore fan. Even my non-Stevie fan friends agree. Otherwise, this season has been a snooze overall.

 ITA with everything you said. In reading the boards of what other people are saying about Jessica, there is definitely a back-lash & the poor girl is just caught up in it. There is obvious favorism by the judges for Jessica & Josh, too. Yeah, Jessica will go. For me, I've liked Hollie & Phillip; Phillip for his uniqueness mostly & Hollie for her voice. And Stevie liking Phillip just added to his uniqueness b/c not everyone can say Stevie Nicks really likes you as an artist. Yeah, & Stevie made AI more enjoyable for me.

I don't agree that Philip is very unique. To me, he's pretty much imitating Dave Matthews.

Elise Testone sets the bar high when it comes to listing her dream duet. In an interview with MTV recently, the latest outcast on "American Idol" reveals her wish to work with Stevie Nicks and Brian May when she hits studio to record her debut album.

Talking about the possibility of collaborating with Stevie, Elise admits she hasn't talked to the Fleetwood Mac star even though she has revealed her desire to hire Elise if she ever needed a singer. "No, no, but hopefully there will be," she says with a smile.

Elise did a knock out rockin' job with her Led Zepplin song! perhaps Fleetwood Mac should consider her? Just saying ya know?

You've had some really great mentors throughout your time on Idol. But which mentor was your favorite and why?

My favorite mentor is probably Stevie Nicks because she just spent so much time learning the songs the night before and everything and she wanted to kind of have an idea of them. Then she came in the next day and really had done her homework. She really showed that she respected us and we respected her.

I keep reading that Stevie and Kelly Clarkson are the top names suggested on the internet to replace Jennifer Lopez as a judge on Idol. It is a lucrative gig and has turned out to be a great career move for J-Lo. In fact, I think she has landed at the top of Forbes' list for the year, according to the list that came out and a lot of her income was boosted by the American Idol exposure she got.

Mick and FM better hope that doesn't happen, because while seeing Stevie on Idol might get more people to buy tickets for a concert, it would give her a whole lot less time to tour. So, when she squeezed performances into her schedule, those dates would probably be Stevie solo, not with FM.

So many of the contestants said she was a great mentor. I could see her name coming up in serious judge discussions among the producers. Although, in the end they probably want to go with a female performer with more prominence than Stevie has today.

Interesting that you have seen her name come up multiple times. I saw it once. I think she's prominent enough to be considered. People know who she is, and neither Paula nor Jennifer were exactly red-hot when they took the gig. Mick would have a cow because it would mean a delay of at least another year for FM, but utlimately I think he would benefit. Stevie on TV every week? Over the last year, just a guest spot here and there was enough to keep putting Rumours back on the charts. Also, I think the interest in Aerosmith's upcoming album and tour is going to surge as a result of Steven Tyler's gig as a judge these last two years.

^^agreed Viv!! Those two would make the show!
I wonder if Stevie would consider...she seems like she doesn't like to be tied down to anything (apart from FM). She has been the most helpful mentor..by far...and seemed to enjoy it....who knows? Money is not a need for Stevie...as it has been for some of the other judges in the past...I would rather her work on another album..but I guess we will have to wair and see...
I did read that the producer...Nigel something or other...really loves Stevie...

I'm not a fan of any tv show but if Stevie was a judge I'd tape it and watch it every week. it would be great for her career. You wouldn't have people ask you, "Whose he?" when mentioning the name Stevie Nicks, after a regular gig as a judge on American Idol. SN would become a household name(Like it should be). Imagine the throngs of fans that would show up at a Fleetwood Mac concert just to get a glimpse or a solo show.

Yes! They would certainly have more chemistry together than Steven has with Ms. Lopez. I would love to see the Stevie and Steven show. They are kindred spirits of sorts.

Yes I agree.I never liked the show. If Stevie was a judge or a weekly mentor like Jimmy I would tape the show every week. Yes her name will get around and one more job she can list on her resume. One thing I would not like is if she gets the idol gig.I don't want to see her to give up touring and other stuff. Also if Stevie gets a offer from Idol .I can see Mick coming unglued over it.I think Lindsey would not care if she gets the Idol gig if offered.I would give him more time to do his thing.

Actually one of the articles I read suggested her age would be a plus, and it would give Idol a way to distinguish itself from "X Factor" where Simon Cowell is going to the other extreme on the age spectrum, with Britney Spears and, especially, Demi Lovato.

Stevie would be great as a judge on Idol but they might be hesitant to have both herself and Tyler since they are so similar .I think they like to go for more diversity because it generates more friction between the judges.

I don't agree that Stevie is so similar to Steven Tyler. I've heard him say ... maybe 4 negative things all season. Everything else is 'beautiful, just beautiful," or some variation on a theme about eggs hatching over sunset rainbows (THAT part is Stevie...except she'd replace the eggs with oceans crashing). Jennifer would cut down her girl of the week, and Randy would ocassionally take the Simon role (VERY watered down)...but, none of their criticism ever made sense. One week it was "give more!" The next, "you're oversinging!" Except for their chosen ones who were the bestest things in the 9000 years they've all been on the earth. Even when they sucked. So, how helpful is that b.s.?

Even Jimmy, who did say some truthful things in his critiques, seemed to do all his armchair quarterbacking POST-show (and probably post-getting fed the booted contestant's name). Why he didn't actually point those things out (like poor song choice, etc)...while the contestants were in the rehearsal room and there was time for change...is beyond me. Since he was their "mentor." (Some things about this show are very, very stupid).

But, Stevie was very, very thoughtful and very supportive of each contestant. And, even when she thought they were good...she didn't stop there, but she'd add some little suggestion (that they could "take or leave") that would make it better.

I think she'd be a great "Ancient Queen," at first--and, then, people would just fall in love and forget the "Ancient" part (even the 12-year olds in the crowd).

Of course, I would prefer that she not saddle herself with that gig...but, if that was her choice, I think she'd be good at it.

Someone who has never heard The Letter definitely cannot judge whether or not you're one of the best singers from the last 50 years. It seems like she's only been listening to music for the last 10.

But I did appreciate Jennifer more after seeing her on Idol than I had before. She seemed compassionate and wiser than I'd thought of her as being.

As for age, well Paula Abdul is going to be 50. To be a judge, you have to have enough experience to have been through it all and have had time to reflect. We don't need Taylor Swift judging.

Of course, this is not a job I want Stevie to have and if it were her choice, I'm sure I'd berate her for it -- but not as much as I would have if she'd taken a permanent Vegas gig. Michele

Her age would be a plus if it were Idol's only consideration
for her to actually judge. But they need a face for TV. And
as much as I like Stevie, adding her to the show would really
age judges row.

I think Stevie's voice is too quiet to be a judge. She whispers
too much. The soundman would have to ride the mix for the
whole show.

If she has been considered or offered a part on Idol, I don't think she would do it, just because of the LIVE factor.I would love to see her reactions and facial expressions during the auditions for the show. To me that in itself would be priceless. I would also love to see who would get her vote to go to Hollywood. Randy, telling Stevie that her " get-up is fly " would also be cool. Hopefully she will return even as a mentor. That seemed to workout really well for her.

It would be fun to hear Stevie get into an argument with the other judges. I think she tends to make her funniest comments when she is perturbed and it would be interesting to see that aspect of her during confrontation, rather than just the one-sided descriptions of altercations we get in interviews.

But I am not suggesting I want any big Cowell/Addul fracases.

This made me think that actually they'd hire Stevie and karen. Stevie wouldn't have to argue with anyone or say mean things to people. She'd only have to sit there and look pretty. Karen would do all the real talking for her.

DeAndre Brackensick on Stevie:

We know that you guys love Jennifer Lopez, and we don't know if she's coming back. Who would you like to see as a judge if that was the case, if she didn't come back. Who do you think would make a good replacement?

Mary J Blige would be cool. Stevie Nicks is the best in the world. But she's doing her thing right now, so I don't think she would do it, but she was my favorite consultant ever.

They just happened to air re-runs of American Idol when Stevie was the mentor on Swedish television a month ago, so I put the clips together and uploaded it on Stevie's favorite place.....you guessed it! You tube! :)

Regarding the judges and Hollie Cavanaugh....

Who is Randy Jackson? I admit only seeing the spliced Stevie mentor gig on youtube...but, for those that think the judges had favorites or made no sense....I agree. Randy said to Hollie, you need to sing a bit more in your lower register, you were shaky etc....I watched more clips....the whole song was practically contralto (for her) and her lower register shined. Steven...I think you should have picked a different song. What? Why? That made her rate poorly, Mr dude looks like a lady?

Jessica, to me was kind of cookie cut. Phillip was the star, the whole package...reminiscent of a lot of famous rock stars, Dave Matthews too. However, he wasnt Dave Matthews....he had his very own style, which was fresh and unique...especially his phraseology. I really like Heejun. He was awesome. Deiandre and the other guys that overdid the falsetto thing and the over the top modulation thing, which i hate but, every singer since Mariah, 1990s does it. Stevie called it, "so much technique going on..." i agree. Where were their "lower registers"?

I think more seasoned music people, even non famous, non performers (behind the singers ie coach, producer, conductor etc..." or opera people too. Then, fair is fairer.

Of the stars you met on the show, who was your favorite?

Stevie Nicks. She’s a sweetheart, and she actually did her homework. Unlike some of the other mentors, she was up at six that morning listening to everyone’s songs. She really cared and gave us great advice.

Keenan Thompson did his best Steve Harvey in order to host a fake Family Feud that featured Shelton's Voice co-stars taking on some personalities from American Idol. Thompson hit Shelton first, calling him a "metrosexual lumberjack." He went down the line, hurling zingers at Adam Levine (Taran Killam), Keith Urban (Kate McKinnon) and Nicki Minaj (Sasheer Zamata). The best insult came when Thompson arrived at Kyle Mooney's Steven Tyler, calling him[B] Stevie Nicks and "a dreamcatcher [that] came to life."

[from an interview with Elise Testone]

Show the Show BY SARAH BOURQUE · PUBLISHED JUNE 30, 2016

http://www.showtheshow.com/news/jam-sessions-women-scene-elise-testone-talks-idol/

STS: One of the biggest things that’s happened to you is that you were on American Idol. What was your take away from that experience, and what did you learn?

ET: My take away is that no matter what you do, keep a balance in your life and enjoy every moment of it. My feelings on Idol are that I’m really happy that I did it, but sometimes I don’t know if it would have changed anything. Who you are and what you do is never going to change. Idol, to me, was like a test. It was a good test. A test of how well you can do under pressure; how far can you go; how well you work together as a team. I feel I learned so much about working with other people, taking constructive criticism and figuring out what I truly believe. With all that being thrown at me, staying grounded. Also, meeting Stevie Nicks was amazing. I got to sing with her. It was really cool.

STS: Would you say that’s probably one of the most unforgettable moments of your life?

ET: Yes, like ever. That and then on stage, we played with Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen. That was really cool. Me singing with Stevie Nicks was not a plan. When I met her, we felt like kindred spirits. We were just having fun and we sang “Dreams” together. That was awesome.
