Rhiannon Board Tape - 1978 - Uncirculated Reel

[mikebise]

A CD copy of a previously UNCIRCULATED REEL has been very generously shared with us. I hope everyone enjoys these NEVER-BEFORE-HEARD versions!!!! (Check out Stevie's "Birds Rising" speech; not so impromptu after all!)

Thanks.Mediafire is a joke.avert popups nonstop.I like Adrive. less popups.

[mikebise]

These are not the same versions from Uncirculated Rumours or from any other Reel. All totally different!

[gldstwmn]

Can't wait to listen to this. You made my day! Thanks! :xoxo:

[daniellaaarisen]

I am so excited to download these -- thank you!!!

[mikebise]

I could see Stevie giving "Cecilia" the "Moonlight" treatment, based on these demos.

I guess Stevie used the "Beautiful name/birds rising" speech as a mantra to get her into "Rhiannon", since she uses it here, as well as the very well-known other piano demo. Does it lose its specialness? ;)

Could "Castaway" be another Rhiannon song? Or, like "Blue Water", is it just included on the reel, but not related to Rhiannon?

[MacMan]

These all sound great Mike. Thank you !

[Christopher]

THANKS for these Mike!! I'll download and listen later. Can't wait:woohoo:

[mikebise]

Not sure if these were shared in June. We posted them elsewhere, but I didn't get around to here because of my mother's surgery, and was overwhelmed. These recordings are from March 1978, but on a later Reel:

Catalog Roughs - Reel #2 - 3/27/1980

"The Maker Of Birds"

"Forest Of The Black Roses" - Take 2

I love that second take of Rhiannon.

Thank you so much for posting. Awesome.

[KarmaContestant]

Mike, thank you so much - What a great way to end my day at work!

[mikephxaz]

Thanks so much Mike

[Morgana]

Thanks Mike so much! I just want to say that I appreciate your hard work and sharing! :]

[gldstwmn]

What is she saying in the first line of Cecilia?

[markolas]

Why does Cecelia remind me so much of Straight Back?

[badanimals87]

Thanks Mike! :xoxo:

Tim

[Macfanforever]

Thanks Mike for all the work you put into these.

[bombaysaffires]

Thanks Mike!! Forest of the Black Roses is one of my all-time faces, and this is a great quality copy!!!!

[mikebise]

"Cecilia" has some music going on that reminds me of "Love Is Like A River"... Those guitars at the end of Take 2, I think.

I was just thinking... "Chanel, Chanel" and "My Heart", the last real unreleased stuff, got mass-circulated in 2004/2005 or so. Hundreds of Master Reels from 2001-2005... Before that was the mass Maureen stuff from 1997-1999 (after that, she was repeating herself). So, we've had a looooooong Stevie Demos & Outtakes Drought until 2011~ and what a year, huh???

From a variety of sources and people, we've amassed quite a large number of incredible recordings in great sound. Thanks everyone, for the Stevie Love!

Too bad most of them have fallen into the hands of people who refuse to share them.

[UndoingTheLaces]

Thank you so much for sharing these.

This gives me hope that there's still a clear copy of the Uncirculated Rumors version of Castaway. It her voice and the keyboard sound very similar to this one. Only that one had someone playing bass in it.

[SapphireSister]

Thank God I checked in on this. Dying to hear my favorite song (The) Maker of Birds!! Thanks M.B.! It truly is the best piano demo of her life IMO. But that's just crazy ole me!

[Blueletter18]

Aaahhh thank you!!

[MariaA37]

This is the best quality version of The Maker of Birds that I've heard. Thanks Mike.

[nodmod]

Thanks for posting these, much appreciated

[britt0308]

These are wonderful! Thanks for the great quality!

[HighPassion]

:]

Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of moving and won't be able to download these till next week. It's so gruesome, all these epic new Stevie demos and I am way behind on all of them!

Quick question, are these different takes of Maker of the Birds/Forest of the Black Roses? Or just better quality? -Sorry for my ignorance, I haven't checked later posts and am not able to download them yet :P

PS -Thank you for sharing these, mike!!

[Supernaut]

AMAZING!

Thank you again, Mike. You're a superstar!

[wildheart048]

Thanks so much for sharing these...awesome stuff!!

[Mac_Man_Dan]

the Rhiannon takes are hauntingly amazing.......... love it, thanks! i could sit into a daze just listening to these over and over.....

[mikebise]

Daniel, these are the same versions of "The Maker Of Birds" and "Forest Of The Black Roses" that have been circulating for decades, but they come from an actual Reel, generously shared with us by the owner of the Reel.

Glad everyone is enjoying these songs.

Thanks for sharing Mike, along with who ever is the owner of the Reel. I've been searching for 20 years (since when I bought the bootleg 3 LP's of Uncirculated Rumours) for a great copy of Forest Of The Black Roses (one of my personal favorites). Though I've come close, I believe this is the best version I have come across. And those newly uncovered versions of "Cecelia" are amazing!

Now if we can only come up with quality Reel versions of "Chanel Chanel", "Running Through The Garden" (the widely circulated RAL outtake version) "She Still Loves Him" and practically ever other RAL era demo/outtake out there I'd die a happy man! LOL:laugh: As well as the the elusive "I Call You Missing" from the SA sessions!! That's not asking or dreaming for much ;)

[mikebise]

Bumped for any newbies!

[HighPassion]

BUMPED!!!!!!!!!!

HOLY CRAP WHAT A SURPRISE!! I forgot to download these when they were originally posted cause I was moving, and they totally slipped my mind!

Man, I havent been here in a while but I'm glad so many of the cool things are still here :D
