Being British (and of course quite desperate to see Lindsey perform live) I have absolutely no clue as to how I go about finding the right venue, getting great tickets and just generally creating an enjoyable and worthwhile trip. It's bad enough that I'd have to go to America on my own. I get lost without a label :p Gah. I feel so ignorant about his coming tour. To be really cheeky (but grateful as well), when proper tour dates are announced, could somebody please help me figure all this out? I'm sure you're all much more clued on the whole gig scene than I am. To be quite frank, my Mother is the one who's left to book tickets and such. But with my Mother having put her foot down about me going to America on my own and thus refused to book tickets, I have to do it on the down low lol. Ah. The tricky life of the parental home dwelling student.

Lee :) I will def go to towson but also hoping for another date somewhere in the general area... Weirdly, MD date was supposed to go on sale today but now TM doesn't have sale date info anymore, just ticket prices.
I called Goucher College and the tickets will go on sales the second week of June for Towson.

Yeah, I saw that for the Towson thing, too.
IIRC, his last tour, all dates were announced and then they all went on sale (some, the same day...I remember having small nervous breakdowns and multiple screens open on the computer).
It's always kind of exciting in some kind of freaky, sado-masochistic way.
Thanks, BLY...I just added it to my datebook!

thanks, good to know!
i'll definitely do Towson, but actually would rather know some more dates before buying the tickets so i can figure out whether there is more than one option and who to take to which one if there are several close to me, how many tickets to buy, etc... :D
re venue info vs ticketmaster - how reliable is info from the venue? couple of months ago there was a band that i wanted to see and they had 3 dates in the area - two in 9:30 club in DC, one in Rams Head in Baltimore. during presale through band's website both DC dates were sold out but when i called the venue they said tickets have yet to go on sale through the venue - but ultimately they never did i think. (interestingly, although it was full enough, Baltimore tickets never sold out, presale or regular sale)

Oh my gosh, we have to! :D It has occurred to me that I will most likely be going to any LB/SN/FM concert by myself, because no one I know would want to go.
And I am sure that even if they did they would just complain the whole time about how they didn't want to be there  and I will not let anyone ruin that night for me!!

it seems like a whole another experience being at LB concert with fellow fans - i definitely loved it!! alone may work similarly b/c at least in LA there were bunch of other fans around who all wanted to share experiences and seem to know everything there is to know about LB / his songs! but there are some people in my life that i would really like to take to see him...

Me too. I think they would really end up enjoying themselves, but they probably wouldn't want to pay, and I wouldn't want to pay for them  I don't want this to sound bad, but I know there are certain people that I absolutely would not want to go with me. Not because they don't like Lindsey, but because I don't think I would have a good time with them.

I really don't know what to do about this at all. My parents are struggling financially, so I don't want to make any large purchases because I want the money there should they need it. I wouldn't want an expensive trip on my conscience when I could use the money to help them pay bills and stave off eviction.

I'm sure there will be. I wouldn't doubt him hopping up north after Baltimore and then going down to FL. He had three tri-state area shows last tour, with a week between Atlantic City and New York, so I think it's still possible something like that would happen again.

Hanson fan in a Lindsey Buckingham forum! Yay! :wavey:
I love HOBs but they aren't great for all acts. I'm surprised Lindsey played them since I'd ordinarily doubt he'd play a venue that requires everyone to stand. Did they put in seats for his shows there? PS - I totally sympathize with your pain of waiting for a Hanson show, especially if it was the tour where they had three openers, aaay.

That's what I was thinking too. With an act like Lindsey I just want to sit in my seat and stare!
I think it was 2008 for Hanson. I know one of the opening acts was The Veronicas...not sure about the other. But I had been standing for 5 hours before Hanson even came on and I just could not take it! And I was standing to a very annoying girl who kept trying to grind on me and my sisters friend...and I was not very happy
My sister "faked" being pregnant and they let her sit on the other side of the barrier closer to the stage! Is that awful....or genius?

Ahh, that makes sense. Every House of Blues show I've ever gone to has been GA standing, with no seats, so that's why I was confused. I wasn't sure if they were able to accomodate seats, though I know other GA venues did seats for Lindsey shows that tour, including the NYC one.

Ahh, yes, The Veronicas were in 2008, the first openers and then Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers were the second. I LOVE Hanson shows but the amount of standing required prior to the show if you want to have a good spot should qualify as an Olympic sport. I was so happy when I went to see them last year and there was ONE opener. Your sister was pretty smart! I doubt she was the first to try that!

Acutally, he did the HOB in New Orleans in 2007 and that was GA seated. It was awful. People were faking injuries in order to get special seating. People who waited for hours got shoved aside.

I'm in Tulsa but I'll probably go to Austin/Dalls/Houston/San Anton/etc if he doesn't make it back to OK. The wife and I are really pumped about this one, especially after all the rave reviews of the album.
Plus, comparisons to OOTC.. The live versions of the Cradle songs were, IMO, much better than most of the album versions. After 10 years of no touring, the man himself was really putting heart and soul in.. I hope he has it for this one.
What was the GOS tour like? I still can't believe I didn't go in 08..

GOS tour was incredible. The songs from that album really made it more exhilarating than the UTS tour -- which was great. It just got improved upon.
The GOS title song sizzled live.
I agree with you about some of the OOTC songs being better live. I honestly used to blank on the studio version of Doing What I Can, but it lit up the concert live.

What was the GOS tour like? I still can't believe I didn't go in 08..
The GOS tour was the first tour I saw Lindsey solo, but I thought it was fantastic. He did a good mix of songs from the album (about six, if I remember correctly), a few older solo songs and FM tunes that the more casual crowd would expect. He didn't change up the set much from show to show, I think the only song that made a few sets but not all was "Bleed to Love Her", but I saw him twice, both at the end of the tour (one was the last show) and he was so on, full of energy, basically perfection.
I know he played the Brady in Tulsa on the GOS tour, so maybe he'd make his way back there if he enjoyed his time! I'd actually be tempted to go to Tulsa myself if he were to play Cain's but I doubt he would.

If he doesn't come to Atlanta I could for sure swing the Jacksonville show. It's the day before my birthday and my fiancee's son lives there so we can kill two birds with one stone. And I seriously need to get to the beach.
Although, I really hope he comes to Atlanta. He opened in Atlanta for UTS but then you don't stop by for the GOS tour?! Didn't get that.
somebody just pointed it out on twitter to me:

I wish he would come a bit further south in Florida, possibly Tampa or even Fort Myers. If not I'll make the trek to Jacksonville. I've seen couple of shows at that venue, great acoustics.

Well, the Jacksonville show will be his "Birthday Show". If that helps make your decision any easier. (since we saw how Stevie's BD gig turned out, maybe Lindsey's will be as good, if not better)

do you think that show will differ from the other shows on his tour? did he do a show on his birthday on any of the previous tours (i think he did one a day before...)?
EDIT: guess he hasn't performed on his birthday on either of the last 2 tours - here's UTS tour schedule:

EXACTLY! There is the big gap from 10/3 Jacksonville to 10/14 Vegas. I'd go to Jacksonville however it would be so much easier and cheaper for me if a Tampa show was added after 10/3. Hopefully more dates will be published soon.:distress:

These are very likely all leaks. Lindsey and his management don't want these dates to be out yet, because they likely haven't finished the final arrangements. When tour dates are released as they should be, there isn't the stress involved as when one offs start appearing at the venue's leisure. Since so many are coming out now, I would guess the official announcement is pretty close to coming.

Beat me to it, it's pretty clear that these are leaked.
In fact, i'm pretty sure Lindsey said in an interview that all dates would be following the album's release- slated for September, but the implication was that it could be later. At least that's the way I read it.
Which also infers to me that the Colorado date in August is for a conference or award deal or whatever people were saying earlier in this thread.
Anyway. Judging by his last few tours, I'd say he'll have plenty more dates out there, mostly in Sep/Oct I'd imagine. Here's hoping that there's at least 30 and that he plays a bday show.
Oh, and being selfish, that he comes to Tulsa or Dallas.

Roseland in NY seems too big for what he's doing. 3500 standing room. Of course, he could be doing theater style (he's done it before...adding seats to GA places). I went on Twitter and looked her up. She's from Oregon. She referred to it as Roseland Theater and there is one in Oregon. So...I'd go for the Oregon thing.
I liked the places he's played in NY...Nokia was great (although I think they renamed it...yet again) and I'm blanking on the famous one he did for UTS. Shoot. But, that was good, too;-)

It's the Best Buy now. The booking seems to have changed a little bit (as in, there isn't as much) but it's possible he'd play that venue again. I think his UTS tour show was at Town Hall, which makes a little more sense since it is a legit theater and they wouldn't have to put down seats like they did for the GOS show.

I'm assuming the Midwest dates will fall between that gap period between the 4th and the 12th in October, but I wish he would get a move on. I'm trying to plan a non-Lindsey related vacation afterwards, and he's holding me up! C'mon Lindsey!

Silver Springs, go ahead buy the ticket and do not tell them. Go to the concert and tell them you are going to the movies. I assume you still live at home and you are an adult, correct. You should be able to go to a concert and not have to check in. I could see if you were going somewhere for the weekend and they would like you to call everyday just to know where you are. That is something I would do any way. You have a right to go to the show even if you live at home. Eventhough you still live in there house you should not have to ask permission as an adult to do what you want. So go, leave the house dressed normally and lie to them. They will get over it.

I think her problem is that she would have to travel overseas for the concert, right? I'm 20 and still live with my parents and I'm sure they would tell me no too. If I could afford it I would just do it anyway. They would be furious, but I dont think they would kick me out or anything.

I remember I came to California to do a game show and I knew my father wouldn't approve. I spent the summer here and got accepted to be on the show, but taping was not until after I left, so I returned for the show and I didn't tell my dad where I was going. I was 20, but I was out of college and had already started graduate school, so I had been living away from home for 3 years by then. He called my dorm room and didn't get me and then he started calling the front desk. When I got home he was mad. He never cursed, but he said to me, "Michele where the hell have you been." That was the first time I ever heard him curse.
Plus, the people at the front desk at my quad were mad too, because he kept calling them. They said they weren't receptionists and they weren't babysitters and it was not their responsibility to take messages or to track down adult students.
Ha. That's not the only time I went away without him knowing. It's just the time I got caught:laugh:.

Wow, that would be fab - I always say that if you don't have dreams you'll never have dreams to come true! Hope you get to at least some of them if not all.
Thinking about it, yeah - I really need that password guys, a down-on-my- knees please!
I just don't want to upset any USA Ledgies by buying two tickets and making someone miss out!
What password, what show would you be trying to go to? I would say just go ahead and get the tickets. Does Lindsey usually sell out?? If you couldnt go you could always try to get them to someone else.
If I could at least get to 3 or 4 shows I would be happy. I could probably swing it too if the dates would come out soon!! But when FM tours again, which they will, I want to be at every single show. I will do whatever I have to! Who's with me?!?

Milwaukee and Idaho are not just from songkick - check Carol-Lynn's posts above - she gave different links (don't know how official or not, but still...):
Lindsey Buckingham, Egyptian Theatre Boise, ID, Mon, 9/12, 2011 - http://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/...medium=api
Lindsey Buckingham, Saturday, 9/17, 2011, Pabst Theater, Milwaukee, WI - http://protected.tickets.com/buy/TicketO...poid=27469
Yeah, I saw. The Egyptian Theatre - could not find any info on their site to verify...

According to what I'm seeing, you have to sign up at ticketmaster to get this (sign up for All Access Pass, not just the first sign-up where you are setting your favorites). Passwords are sent out two days before pre-sale. The pre-sale day for this show is 6/16/2011. You personally have to be signed up and confirm it through your e-mail address.

That's some crazy routing! Across the country in 11 days, then four shows in and around NYC. I think it's kinda cool that he's playing these out-of-the-way places like Ridgefield and Morristown. But not, like, out-out-of-the-way like Saratoga! Why doesn't he just play multiple nights in the city, or one big shed show somewhere?

I think her problem is that she would have to travel overseas for the concert, right? I'm 20 and still live with my parents and I'm sure they would tell me no too. If I could afford it I would just do it anyway. They would be furious, but I dont think they would kick me out or anything.
Hello, I did not read the post about traveling overseas but that does not change my opinion. If you are over eighteen you should be able to come and go as you please. Plenty of 18 - 20 year olds go back packing and traveling in other countries without supervision. I would not stay out all night and not call or bring your love interests home to stay overnight though. That is where I would draw the line.

Oh I agree with you! I was just pointing out that it was overseas because thats very different then the concert being simply out of town. I know if I was a parent I would be hesitant to tell my child yes, but in the end when you're an adult your parents can't really stop you.
I just asked my parents if they cared if I went to the pittsburgh show because I do live with them and all. They said they want me to go!
Sunday night in Chicago? Grrr...have to take Monday off now. I've never been to the Vic, so that will be an experience. One that I have to stand in line for!
I'm very happy we have a release date for the album!!!!!

10/12: Lindsey Buckingham at the Celebrity Theatre
by Randy Cordova - Jun. 13, 2011 10:58 AM
The Arizona Republic
.
Best known for his role in Fleetwood Mac - and a relationship with Stevie Nicks - Lindsey Buckingham will launch a U.S. tour in September. A Valley date is scheduled for Oct. 12 at the Celebrity Theatre.
Buckingham will be on the road to support "Seeds We Sow," the sixth solo studio album in his career. The disc, due Sept. 6, is described on Buckingham's website as having a "true DIY approach," with the singer-guitarist writing and performing every song on the record, we well as producing and mixing the disc.
"This might be the best work I've ever done," Buckingham says on the site. "I think it's an excellent representation of what I do . . . It's on my own terms. This is very much from the inside out and I hope I never stop doing that."
Buckingham's classic compositions during the Fleetwood Mac years include "Go Your Own Way" and "Tusk." As a solo artist, he scored with "Trouble," "Holiday Road" (taken from the soundtrack of "National Lampoon's Vacation") and "Go Insane." For the latter's video, he sported a hairdo that may have inspired Lyle Lovett.
Tickets, $40 and $50, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, through 602-267-1600 or celebritytheatre.com.

ICONIC FLEETWOOD MAC GUITARIST LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM ANNOUNCES SIXTH SOLO ALBUM “SEEDS WE SOW,” AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 6
Legendary guitarist, singer/songwriter, Grammy winner, producer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Lindsey Buckingham will release his sixth solo album, Seeds We Sow, on September 6, 2011. This album is Buckingham’s first self-release, in which he took a true DIY approach, not only writing and performing every song on the record but producing and mixing them as well. Buckingham also announced a 31-city North American tour in support of the album which kicks off on September 9 in Nevada and continues through October 25 in Napa, CA (full routing below). Tickets go on sale in select cities beginning June 16, check your local venue for ticket purchase and on-sale info.
Speaking on Seeds We Sow, Buckingham says, “This might be the best work I’ve ever done. I think it’s an excellent representation of what I do. It shows a certain maturity and musicianship and I just feel like I have a lot of tools in my musical vocabulary from which to draw that are again the product of the choices I’ve made. It’s on my own terms. This is very much from the inside out and I hope I never stop doing that.”
From the album’s first single “In Our Own Time,” to the soft melodic pop/rock tinge of “End of Time” and the album’s most rocking track, “One Take,” to the touching “When She Comes Down” and the almost lullaby-esque hushed tones of the gorgeous closing number, “She Smiles Sweetly,” the album showcases Buckingham’s full arsenal of skills. Just as his guitar style on Seeds We Sow is more mature and refined, so too are his lyrics, with one of the standout tracks being the hook-laden “Illumination.” “I think the lyrics over the years have actually gotten better because they’ve gotten a little, I don’t want to say obscure, but more poetic in the way they’re created,” he says, adding, “It’s a mysterious process even to me.”
ABOUT LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM
Palo Alto, CA native Lindsey Buckingham is best known for his work as guitarist, male vocalist and songwriter for Fleetwood Mac, a band that has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, won countless awards, sold out venues around the world, and helped define the sound of rock for the last three decades. Buckingham was the predominant musical force behind such Mac albums as Rumours and the innovative Tusk, and has created a critically acclaimed body of solo work that yielded the hits, “Trouble,” “Go Insane,” and “Holiday Road.” After moving to Los Angeles in 1973 with then girlfriend Stevie Nicks, the two were signed to Polydor Records and released the now cult favorite Buckingham Nicks album. The two joined Fleetwood Mac on New Year’s Eve of 1974 and the band’s self-titled album was released in 1975. The album was a hit, however, it did not compare to the success of 1977’s Rumors, led by the Buckingham-written single “Go Your Own Way,” which has gone on to become one of the best selling albums of all time (even re-appearing on the Billboard Top 40 in 2011 after the “Glee” episode paid tribute to the album). 1979’s critically acclaimed double-album, Tusk, famously cost the band over a million dollars to record and was followed by 1982’s Mirage and 1987’s Tango in the Night, also huge commercial successes for the band. Buckingham’s first solo album, 1981’s Law and Order, produced the hit single “Trouble.” Buckingham’s subsequent solo albums, 1984’s Go Insane, 1992’s Out of the Cradle, 2006’s Under the Skin and 2008’s Live at the Bass Performance Hall and Gift of Screws have all earned critical acclaim. He was recently honored with ASCAP’s Golden Note Award, and has also received The Les Paul Award. For more information please log on to www.lindseybuckingham.com.

Why are some of these dates different? Esp the PA ones, which are the ones I am trying to go to! One site said there was a show in Glenside, not Philly. And the Pittsburgh date is listed as Sept 20 once but then the 22nd on another.

Don't know about the Pittsburgh date but Pittsburgh is FAR from Philly (I found that out on a long 11 hour train ride from NYC).

Pittsburgh is a very nice and safe city but the show is in Homestead which is kinda ghetto but they are trying to revitalize the area. The Waterfront is near the Carnegie Music Hall and it has a ton of shopping and restaurants and a hotel if you are staying for the night. I havent been back to Cleveland since my hubby and I went there 5 years ago for a baseball game. My hubby had on a Steeler hat and we got yelled and cursed at everywhere we went and someone stole his tickets to the game. Later on we couldnt get a cab back from the flats so we had to walk back to the Renaissance Hotel and then some strange guy followed us in and we had to run to our room to escape him. We used to go there all the time but after that last run of back luck we arent sure if we ever want to go back but I do want to see the new exhibits at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame so we shall see. We have learned our lesson which is not to wear anything Pittsburgh related in Cleveland -ha ha!!!!

Yeah Pittsburgh is about 4 1/2 to 5 hours from Philly. Its all turnpike so if you drive fast you can make it closer to 4 1/2 hours. Its a boring drive though thats for sure. The Pittsburgh date is definitley on Sept 20th. It was confirmed through Dru sky entertainment which books alot of the smaller shows around here.

Hi Nancy,:wavey:
To answer your question-Yes TM seems to be selling the VIP M&Gs-or at least it looks like it since under the price range tab it has a top tix price of $222.84 ($209 VIP + taxes and fees.)
I also noticed that there will be a Hennepin Theater Trust pre-sale for that concert starting on Wednesday. But the presale password will not be free. You have to donate at least $500 for pre-sale access to concert tixs. Here is the web-link: https://web.memberclicks.com/mc/quickForm/viewForm.do?orgId=ht&formId=56186

I used to do the back-of-the-venue thing, and it worked a lot during the Under the Skin Tour, but the number of times he paused for fans after shows dropped significantly during the Gift of Screws tour.
I've gotten to talk to Lindsey for a few minutes a couple times and have a signed album as well, but I'm considering the meet'n'greet anyway. It would be nice to talk to him in a controlled atmosphere. $200 is not cheap, but a meet'n'greet with Mick before a Mac show cost $1000, remember? lol
I think this is probably a one-time deal sponsored by the charity giving the Minnesota show, and not something he's going to do regularly, though. I could be wrong, but there's no mention of it elsewhere so far.

I agree with Nancy though...I think the MN M&G is a one-off...but we shall see. It's the only one on Ticketb*stard that says "An Evening with Lindsey Buckingham" so I guess it's special.

SoCalGalWell, Ive been pretty lucky yes. ACtually alot of it develpoed from the UTS tour when Lindsey during the earlier part of the tour would actually tell the audience which hotels the band were at.
