I am not "begrudging" anybody...I just don't understand. Perhaps they are in the situation of being "financially limited" because they make emotional decisions without doing a cost benefit analysis when making these type of financial decisions? It just seems like bad financial planning....for one to go so far out of their way and spend alot of money they do not have to see someone they don't even know. I understand spending money you do not have if a relative was on their death bed and you had to fly there to say goodbye. But not for an out of state concert that they can not afford....if working a second or third job for several months to pay for the experience is worth it to them, more power to them, it just doesn't make sense to me.

It's about living for NOW,and catching an experience as it happens. What fun is life when you plan everything and tell yourself 'no' all the time?

Bryan... I agree with you 100%...

Tomorrow night was going to be such a rare moment in time for Stevie and her fans to celebrate together and share such a special experience. This album is a HUGE milestone for Stevie. There is a great possibility an event like this may never have the opportunity to occur. You don't know what tomorrow will bring. Everyone who was going attend the show knows this. The Webster show/celebration being cancelled is not like a regular show being cancelled that you can just "catch the next city." This truly was going to be a "moment in time" for Stevie & for all of us who were going to be there.

Reebok...I'm not sure if you understand what the significance of the Webster show was to all of us who were going to be there. For people who lost money due to the cancellation, yes, it is definitely something to be frustrated with...unless you won the lottery or something, who really CAN afford to plan an entire trip for nothing? But please be considerate of what the bigger picture is to the people who went out of their way for this show because Stevie and her music has touched their lives that deeply and because they knew how priceless tomorrow night was going to be.

Very well put, this is why people put out the buck they may not of had to begin with, it was probally going to be a very rare performance!

Jeez, I feel like I need to defend myself. I think I was the one who said I was spending money I didn't have to see this show.

So... a little back story. I have yet to be able to see Stevie live. I almost got to in 2009 when FM came to Nashville, but the show fell on my summer break and I ended up going home to Chicago. When I first heard about the Webster show and how special it was going to be, it got my wheels turning. Then I saw that the show was going to be on my birthday. I felt like it was fate telling me I had to be there. My family is huge on celebrating birthdays and making them amazing. So, my mom agreed to buy my ticket to the show and also decided to accompany me on the trip so she could spend my birthday with me (Last year I had to spend my birthday alone thanks to all the floods in Nashville). I'm also an only child so this factors into it as well.

Since I graduated, I have not been able to find a job in my industry (Music Business). Because I have no income coming in, that is why I was technically spending money I don't have on this trip. And money that was spent were my tiny bit of savings that were allocated for expenses. Yes, it was crazy to spend that money when I should be saving every penny. I did lose half of the money I spent on the hotel since they wouldn't refund the first night (about $220). All the money on airfare is now on an airline credit, so technically it's gone until I use it. The show tickets will be refunded. I also traveled from Nashville to Chicago last week because it was cheaper to fly from Chicago to NYC than it was to fly from Nash to NYC. I flew out a little bit early to visit my hometown. I'm currently now stuck in Chicago until Monday since the NYC trip is now off. So, there's the cost of my trip from Nash to Chicago to factor in as well. Lots of expense, but it is only money. Life goes on. As of now I can still afford to buy food, so life is good. It's all about the experience and memories in life. Some of my greatest memories are from last minute decisions that I couldn't really afford, but did it anyway.

I'm a huge believer in what's meant to be will be, and believe that everything is up to fate. So, I'm hoping something good will at least come out of this. I had to beg a company to move a job interview until next week and so far they agreed. Maybe that factors into this somehow? I don't know yet.

Sorry for the novel. But I just wanted to give a back story into why I did what I did.

ok.....thanks everyone for the explanations. I wasn't trying to be snarky or inconsiderate by asking why people would spend a lot of money they do not have...really...I was just trying to understand. To be honest, your explainations make no sense to me....it sounds irrational to me....I would understand if Stevie called you up and asked you to fly into LAX, come to her house for a dinner and hang out with her....THAT is a once in a lifetime experience...but a concert in a small venue similar to the house of blues show in 99? Sorry folks...I am at a loss on this one.

Many of you know my mom has been ill. She is 75. She started having troubles in her early 60s. Small illnesses like the flu were not so small. Stevie needs to take really good care of herself, especially since she is in constant contact with sooo many people and sooo many germs. If she has Pneumonia that could be very life threatening, especially at her age.

Exactly. At Stevie's age this is very serious. Prayers up for Stevie's recovery.

"made her work too hard". Stevie still has some growing up to do, nobody can make her do anything. That said I know there had to be enormous pressure on her to do all the interviews. Still, knowing she has a tendency to get ill, she should know better by now. :( I am not saying it is her fault she is ill, I don't think that. But it's not her press agent's fault either. I am praying for her to get well soon.

I've decided not to come out for the one day after all. I just can't rally and am taking a mental health day instead and just chilling out. I'm sad I won't get to meet you and others, Danielle. You really are in one of the most awesome places.

Note to self, don't travel for Stevie unless you have a damn good Plan B set up!

One last thing, her father smoked into his old age AND he was involved in the Arizona Heart Institute. Addiction is a serious familial illness and without taking treatment seriously it is nearly impossible to beat. And I think Eric Roberts (one of last season's Celebrity Rehab patients) would attest to the fact that pot is not exactly a "soft" drug. I get the difference between it and heroin/opiates but it robs people of their motivation. Without it we may not have had to wait 10 years for this release.

If she show up for Borgata then she didn't have pneumonia. Pneumonia puts a person down for six or so weeks.

First and foremost, I hope Stevie feels better soon. I am thankful that the tickets I almost purchased for Webster Hall disappeared before I could actually purchase them...I posted here at that time that "I guess I am not supposed to go to the show- everything happens for a reason". Well...I got my reason....that little ticketmaster "error" saved me thousands of dollars.

I feel bad for the people who actually flew to NY just to find out the show was cancelled.

One thing I will never understand when I read this board is why people would spend money they do not have. I have read comments like, " I spent money I didn't have on this trip".... Why would someone go in debt to see a concert or spend money they do not have to fly to a city to see a concert? I am really just trying to understand what it is that would motivate someone to spend money they don't have? Yes, the experience of seeing Stevie is priceless but c'mon. Really?

It's called living in the moment. Some people realize there may not be a tomorrow or very few tomorrows.

First of all...I have been a member of this board for a very long time, I see you are a newbie, so don't tell me to knock it off....by the way, knock what off? Asking questions? trying to understand?

You asked why am I here...I am here because I am a stevie nicks fan and have been since I saw her in 1975....to me, being a fan does not mean that a person should drive themselves into debt. As I read this thread I saw people who said they could not afford this, but did it anyway, so I asked a reasonable question. Jeesh, now let it go.

I find it a stretch that she would have gone to London with all the promo stuff she had going on. I mean, she was just interviewed in LA by Perez on Wed afternoon...

Maybe someone can call Liz Rosenberg's office and ask her where Stevie is. Seriously though Liz says whatever she's paid to say so I wouldn't trust any of that either.

Stevie's Twitter feed just sent this:

'Today is STEVIE NICKS DAY - CD FINALLY OUT - Yipee'

Someone needs to ask that damn moth if she's in London or California! Is she really sick or having a bout of self ivolved-ness over a potential terrorist attack? Does she know Suze Orman? And if she does, does Stevie think Suze is a bit crackers like that batsh*t aunt everyone has?

I've also been a Stevie Nicks fan since 1975. What does that have to do with ignorance? The reason why some people "lurk" is because of the well known attitudes of some of the posters here at the "Ledge". "newbies" aren't "allowed" to state how they feel when someone is bashing someone else?? I can't believe I'm even responding to this nonsense. I spend money I don't have to see the one idol of my life, Stevie Nicks. And I don't see what is so "hard to understand". What I don't understand is your need to judge these fans..and to make it sound like there's something wrong with what they're doing. If I waited till I could "afford" the concerts I'd probably never get to see any. This is my only post on this matter. So feel free to bash away. bash away. bash away all.

now you talk about someone driving themselves into debt.................please just hush! we are all adults here, for the most part, so we have to be responsible for the decisions we make/made. if someone dipped into their savings for this, that's on them! SINCE YOU CLAIM YOU SAW STEVIE IN 1975 then you should understand y someone would dig down deep to scrap up cash.

TO ALL THOSE that went out of your way to see Stevie..........i feel your pain. let's try our best to make the best of this and HAVE A BLAST TONIGHT AND TOMORROW!!! the new AMAZING cd has dropped and we will party tonight! *hugs* AND BE CAMERA READY HONEY!!!!

First off, I wish Stevie a speedy recovery. I hope she is getting much needed rest and care.

Secondly, for those of you who purchased tickets, flew to NY, etc. I am truly sorry that Stevie's illness has created problems for you. It is unfortunate, but just try to remember that Stevie didn't do this to you on purpose. People can't control illnesses. She didn't want to be sick. I'm sure that she is just as upset that she can perform and celebrate her new CD, and that she couldn't perform on the TODAY Show this morning. That would have been great publicity. Hang in there guys and gals!

I'm sure Stevie's very upset. She's a workaholic and she loves her fans. I'm sure she's aware of the trouble they go to to see her and is giving the doc a bad time. Stevie has always been fan oriented. But, realize, that she's not a youngster and any illness is serious.

I hate to say it but the second thing I thought about was how freakin' weird this is! The whole, new cd release, 9/11, New York, Bin Laden connection. Ten years later, its just weird. I'm not saying she's not sick and it's because of bin laden and afraid of flying and being in NYC right now that she cancelled, I'm just saying what a hell of a coincidence! Eerie.

This was a once in a lifetime event. It wasn't some same old casino show. You have to take into consideration that some fans made many sacrifices to be able to go to this show. It is not just on a financial level either. Don't forget some people have classes, work, or take care of children or other loved ones. It wasn't as simple as " hey Stevie's coming to town" for many people. It was like a trip to Mecca for some of us fans. I don't feel as if anyone should be judging anyone regardless of how much money was spent or who skipped out on classes. We are all in the same boat at one time or another. Let's just hope that one of us can hand someone a life raft when needed.

I'm so behind on news so I don't know when her next appearances are, but do you think she'll reschedule this? I feel bad for you guys. This reminds me of when Gift of Screws came out and some of the pre-orders were supposed to have a signed booklet, but 98% of people here didn't receive one.

^Well, if she plays on Friday, just two days after Webster Hall was supposed to be, I doubt she has pneumonia. She may very well be ill, and I wish her well, but she would not likely bounce back from pneumonia in a week.

Well this is promising? But to use the word "pneumonia" as her illness is a bit much if she's well enough already to perform on Friday? Maybe it was a slight case of pneumonia & more a bad flu?

Because I am insane, I researched how long it takes to get over pneumonia:

A person with pneumonia usually begins to improve after three to five days of antibiotic treatment. Improvement may be defined as feeling better or having fewer symptoms, such as cough and fever. Fatigue and a persistent, but milder, cough can last for up to one month, although most people are able to resume their usual activities within seven days.

So...maybe it's possible she'll be better for Friday?

that would be a really fast recovery thats for sure. my good friend had pneumonia last year (she is 35) and she was very sick for 2 weeks and had to stay in bed. not sure why stevie hasnt had a pnenumonia shot by now. they last for years so its definitley worth getting.

Oh woe is me!
I worked so hard,
I could not be
at work on time

Not me, nor Annabel Lee
that demon child
who tempted me
to cancel dates
'cause I thought

those terrorists
were after me.

So I invented a strain
of flu that no one had
and I felt the pain
and I said I was so sad

And the fans believed
just like they always had
they believed me,
and Annabel Lee.

So I stayed in bed,
and I watched "Glee,"
because I was scared
and so lazy.

I laid down,
but still they paid
for my CD, the fans
and Annabel Lee.

And I laid down
in my four-star room
I laid down, as I always do
I laid down, I laid down

I lay down, I lay down
and collected the highest fee
I lay down, I lay down
with the best view of the sea

I lay down, I lay down
I have no pride
but I still got my fee

I lay down
I laid down
with an excuse
and my TV

I lay down
I lay down, down, down.

It will just prove my point.

If she is really sick right now with pneumonia, she will have to cancel all of her appearances for the next month. If the doctor(s) came to the conclusion that she can't fly or travel anywhere because of her illness, then it's really serious and (at her age), she''ll need extended bed rest and care. Her publicist released a statement saying she has pneumonia. That's not a walk in the park in the sun and then you're better.

If she really is that sick, then I wish her a good recovery, but she's used the flu-bronchitis-shtick in the past. And would someone like Stevie Nicks really let her publicist boss her around and schedule 46 interviews in two days? I HAVE to wonder. I can't help it. I've been watching this woman behave and misbehave for almost 40 years. I want to believe the press release, but there's something about the whole thing that just smacks of unbelievable.

If I'm wrong, then I retreat into my own little world and the rest of you don't have to bother with me. And so what? I've played my cards and paid my dues for many, many years. I have bought all the records and paid the price many times over for the concert tickets, which is why I'm wondering if I'm a fool for all of the homage I've paid over the years. There's just something in the timing of this and the language of the press release that gets my back up. I'm having a hard time believing any of it.

If anyone has any proof that can tell me otherwise, then let it be. I'll be glad to buy into it once again. I don't have that many other things in life to look forward to at my age. If Stevie's juggernaut is for real, I'll pay for the ticket and swallow my pride. If not, then I've lost something precious that I believed in for a long time.

It crossed my mind right away like I said. I know it might seem "ludicrous" to some people, but I'm not in Stevie's head so I don't know what she thinks. I know people who won't set foot in an elevator because they've been stuck in them before. I can't really relate, because I haven't had that experience. I know people don't want to believe that maybe she is afraid to be in NYC right now, because that would seem inconsiderate to her fans to cancel the show and appearances but it wouldn't be unthinkable either. I don't know either way, but it is a real concern for people in this area especially, and if Stevie does feel apprehensive I wouldn't blame her. Just was reading the following article.

http://thenjunderground.com/blog/2011/5/3/stevie-nicks-cancels-webster-hall-today-show-and-good-day-ny.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Thanks for posting that, but actually it only says Borgata is still on in the sense that any one of us could 'say' it's still on - i.e. because we haven't heard it's been cancelled yet. There is nothing in the bit of the press release they quoted that contains any reassurance that it's still on, and the release itself is from Monday. So I wouldn't set too much store by that.

I'm sorry to keep harping on about this, but me and at least one other Ledgie (hi, Elle!) saw a tweet stating that at least one press commitment was rescheduled by Stevie on (I think) Friday of last week. It was a phone interview. Now, if she was not up to phoning on Friday, it is perfectly possible that that was the illness really getting into its stride and not peaking till maybe Sunday, which is when the docs had to make the judgement call to tell her she couldn't fly in time for Today and Webster Hall, etc.

Maybe she is on the tail end of the illness and she wouldnt be 100% for a big (potentially filmed for release) show. She may use the AC show as a "feeling it out" show to see if she is better for the rest?

Just a thought

I'm hoping very much that she is over the worst. It is perfectly possible to have a 'touch' of pneumonia, but even a touch is something a person of her age and health profile should not mess with.

It would not surprise me in the least if Borgata doesn't hit the dust within the next 24 hours. But even if it doesn't, and even if you really think she doesn't care about her fans, nothing will convince me that Stevie Nicks jerked people like Dave Stewart and Sheryl Crow around to duck out of a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of her career because she was too spooked to get on a plane. I mean, what even makes you think she'd have flown commercially anyway? She could've handpicked a pilot and gone private.

I just think she's ill. And I hope she's getting better.

Call the White House -- we demand a full battery of tests to prove this isn't all a hoax!

As excited as Stevie's been to get out there and promote this album, and as big of a deal as it is to cancel/reschedule a concert (one that was slated to have special guests & to be filmed, no less), not to mention canceling a performance on The Today Show, it really surprises me that anyone would doubt that she's sick.

Yes this is true, but I cant believe they would wait to announce the cancellation. If they are waiting, I dont think thats right at all. Some people need to cancel hotel reservations before they are charged. Surely they know now whether she's going to be there or not.

^^^ I agree with you, at this point. Cancellation surely has to come today, if it's coming. I feel really sorry for anyone with money laid out for hotel and travel etc. They absolutely need to know asap.

My point was really to question whether 'knowing' that Borgata was going ahead, as of Monday, was a legit reason to reject the truthfulness of the reason given for cancelling Webster Hall, etc. But the situation is clearly in flux. We just have to wait and see, don't we?

Poor Danielleaaarisen... she just text messaged me she'd gotten to La Guardia, and I had to tell her the bad news. She scraped together all of her pennies and flew all the way from Seattle just to go to the Webster Hall show!

Anyone else remember the SAME THING happening with Stevie around the release of TISL? She had to cancel many shows because of bronchitis, I believe it was.

The Minneapolis show was canceled that we were going to. Thank God we didn't get on the plane to go. We lost something like 100 bucks in the ordeal.

I hope she's okay for those shows (I think she has 3 scheduled next week?)
Anyway, it's not like we weren't expecting it and-frankly- the thought of her performing straight from having pneumonia (which I've had and which wiped me out) made me very nervous for her.
Now, I have a debate with myself. Go to Atlantic City anyway (not like I can't find something to do over there;-) or save the vacation day (and money) for the summer...decisions, decisions.

I don't want to be negative guys but I'm not having a good feeling about AC, especially after what was just posted. Also, as someone noted previously, she will have had no time to rehearse the new material and you know how Stevie is all about rehearsing. I also just read the Poptart interview that said she cancelled a "slew of dates". That sounds like more than Webster Hall and Borgata so I'm not even sure about next week's shows. Again, no practice time. I'm not getting my hopes up about my Indio show a week from Friday because I know there's a chance it's not going to happen. In all honesty I would be disappointed for myself and everyone else who had tickets to these shows but I'd prefer to see her at the top of her game when she's feeling well and there is no way she will be there by next week. So for now I'm leaning towards no shows and if it happens I'll be happily surprised. I hope our love is healing her...

I agree, theres a really good chance our Indio show will be canc. too and thats ok, her health & well being is the important thing...

The only plus about this show is, if she's still here in Calif. she will not need to fly to this show. "But" if she hasnt had any rehersal time especially with the new songs she may scrap all the shows & start over?

Just was reading the following article.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_localnyc/new-york-global-security-on-high-alert-after-osama-bin-laden-kill-for-possible-al-qaeda-retaliation

Yeah, us native New Yorkers love feeling trapped like rats (as if we don't already).

Isn't that Led Zep thing in the Music Box, though? The smaller venue?

You're right. In my sadness to no longer see Stevie listed there I totally missed the different venue.

It's good to know I had another option if I'd made it all the way to NJ though:lol:

I know. I have been on the Borgata site dozens of times and never noticed that one. Stevie is the only name I was seeing!

Sad. I just cancelled my hotel. But, I'm still in "vacation day" mode so I'm taking it. Taking my mom on a day trip somewhere. I'll have enough for when Stevie reschedules. And, I called them up. They don't know when that is yet.

But, you brought up a good point. They really should be notifying people by email or phone. If not, they may have to pay for their hotels, airfare, etc...same thing that happened with the NY thing. And Atlantic City is damned expensive during the weekend, too.

I just don't understand why Stevie can't just be sick.

I really don't believe she would cancel all promotion and not fly because of OBL. She was in NYC during 9/11 and STILL continued to tour. We were on Red Alert for months, if not over a year after that....and this was after the attack.

She wrote that letter to us at almost midnight the other night, it's pretty obvious this album means a lot to her and was on her mind. The fact that Dave Stewart, Sheryl Crow all were on their WAY to NYC or were already there when Stevie annouced she couldn't make it, is telling to me. Stevie is KNOWN for trying to go on with the show when she is sick as a dog, hence cancelling things last minute.

The fact that she just canceled not only NYC but AC as well, is telling. I'm sure the height of the Red Alerts are in NYC and California. Isn't Stevie IN California right now? Why would she stay put if she was so afraid of all of this terrorism stuff?

I just don't get it. It's an eerie coincidence, nothing more. Frankly, instead of wondering why she canceled and if she is telling the truth, let's wish her well and a speedy recovery. I am glad to see the majority doing that, but for the others...GMAB, here.

Sometimes, I just don't understand what some people expect from this woman. It's been refreshing to come on here and see everyone rally behind her and her new, AMAZING album. Let's keep that attitude up! It's truly a gift to us all.

I understand the disappointment regarding the cancellation of these shows, but again, she lived through 9/11 with fear in her heart...yet continued on. I highly doubt this OBL thing would have stopped her. I'm sure being sick in bed during the release of her precious, beautiful album is killing her as much as it's disappointing us.

Also, the tweet about Perez taking Vitamin C was stating that she hopes he is taking Vitamin C NOW, because she had kissed him goodbye when he left her house after the interview a week or so ago, not that she told him to take some Vitamin C and then gave him a kiss.

Smiles :)

It's ambiguous, I agree, but if Perez was feeling poorly, saying he thought he might be coming down with something, then she could've said that to him as advice from a well person to a person-who-might-be-fighting-something-off. To me, though, it does imply that they think she might've caught a bug from him. Otherwise, isn't it just saying 'Stevie had germs and, look, she spread them to Perez'?

Not that it really matters. I'm just bored, still waiting for my CD and bummin around the Ledge. :wavey:

Yep, I called too and at they said it's canceled. I called the number on my ticket receipt to find out about the refund and they said it's "postponed". The tickets we have will be good on the new date. Once they announce the new date, if you can't attend they'll have info on the refunds. Thank goodness for the updates here! I was able to cancel my room with no problem. What did we do before the internet and the Ledge? They really should e-mail or call people as soon as they find out.
I hope Stevie takes care of herself and get's better. In a way I'm glad that this show got canceled because it would suck if she forced herself to perform and was still under the weather.

Poor Stevie is so sick that the best week of her IYD (CD release life) has gone to hell in Annabel Lee's hand basket. I know she is just devastated. I hope she recovers quickly and completely. I would hate it if she rushed her recovery and it cast a dark Shadow over the rest of her IYD record launch and tour. I want her to enjoy her success and continue to sound, look, and feel the best she has in years. We love you Stevie. XOXOXO

STEVIE NICKS CANCELS PERFORMANCE AT BORGATA RESORT HOTEL

Rock's Reigning Queen Suffering From Pneumonia

For Immediate Release – (Philadelphia, PA – May 4, 2011 ) – Stevie Nicks, whose highly anticipated new CD "In Your Dreams" - released yesterday, May 3, has had to cancel her Borgata Resort Hotel concert Friday, May 6 and several other appearances on the east coast due to coming down with pneumonia and the flu. Her doctor informed her over the weekend that she needed to "stay in bed and not fly" until she gets better. Nicks was scheduled to perform at a star studded event thrown in her honor by her record label Reprise Records at New York's Webster Hall and was also planning on appearing on the Today Show and Good Day New York.

"I want to apologize to all my fans and hope that we can reschedule and of course I hope you love the new album. It’s for you,” commented Nicks.

“The gypsy queen is in royal form on “In Your Dreams” — it's not just her first album in 10 years, it's her finest collection of songs since the Eighties,” commented Rolling Stone in its review of Nicks’ new CD.

Stevie's own words.

"You need some rest, my darling it's best..."

Take it easy and get better, Stevie. Life will go on and the fans and venues will still be here when you are able to go back on stage. I know this illness comes at a terrible time, but that is life. Perhaps there is a reason for this happening now. Take it and go with it. When you feel better, pack your bag and come back to NY! I'm sure all of your fans feel the same way.

It's not easy to get a ticket for any show anymore (without getting ripped off by places like friggin' Stubhub), so the publicists and the record company and the friggin' fan club (which, why did we give them our info in the first place) should make 100% sure that ANYONE who made the effort to get tickets to Webster Hall or Borgata (which getting tickets for either show was such a pain in the friggin' butt) should get preferential treatment when these dates are "rescheduled."

Stevie has gone to great lengths (look at the borderline phony "letter to the fans" that she just released) to say that she thinks things should be like they were "back in the day." Apparently, she does not think things through far enough to wield her power over ticket buying. Oh, go out and buy my new CD, but if you previously bought tickets for one of my shows that is now CANCELED, I can't do anything about that.

As an artist with a huge, loyal fanbase, she is completely, willfully disconnected. She's not doing anything to make sure that the people who jumped through hoops to get tickets to Webster Hall or Borgata, are now taken care of competently. And neither is her publicist, Liz "all my artists have pneumonia" Rosenberg. They are the cynical ones, not the fans.

Until I get some love back for jumping through some hoops (Stevie and Liz better jump through a few of their own to get me my tickets), I will remain skeptical. They get paid millions of dollars in royalties so that we buy CD's and fill seats. I have yet to see anything that even approaches any kind of real sorrow on their parts that these dates have been canceled (with some nebulous wording of "possible" rescheduling).

I'm about ready to jump ship off the Nicks/Rosenberg armada. I'm really questioning if 35 years of loyalty is going to be repaid in any form at all. They could at least throw us all a bone in the form of an HQ video or an extra track or something. ANYTHING would do, but so far nothing other than vague words that they will "try to reschedule." And no words at all if the very difficult attempts we've made recently to get tickets will be compensated when these dates will be vaguely rescheduled. Frankly, I don't think the Webster Hall date will ever reappear in any form ever.

And Dave Stewart teased us all with those lovely ideas of Stevie nights in small clubs all over the place where we could watch his homemade movie and then see Stevie and him perform songs from the new album. Were we fools to ever believe these nights would ever come about? I'm beginning to think so, that we were being led along by seasoned old pros who know how to manipulate their fans. Go out and buy the CD so you'll know the songs ahead of time. After that, we can't promise anything.

I've lost all my joy over the release of the new album. Even if she is really sick, her corporate machine could have done better in terms of some compensation. Those of us who made the difficult effort to take time out of our days to secure and pay for tickets are given hollow promises about "possible" rescheduling. How about something concrete, Miss Liz Rosenberg? If you are the professional you purport to be, with all your power, then cough up some contingency plans. Even the dumbest executive in the most poorly run company knows about contingency plans. Where is yours?

Dear Ms. Nicks, Ms. Rosenberg and Ms. Moss,

I'm an older guy who really remembers how things used to work "back in the day." In 2011, it's not an easy task to get a ticket for any show anymore (without getting ripped off by places like Stubhub), so I think you and the record company and the fan club (which, why did we give out our info to you in the first place, other than the possibility that you might cross-market our data to third parties for a fee) should make 100% sure that ANYONE who made the effort to get tickets to Webster Hall or Borgata or any of the other canceled shows should get preferential treatment when these dates are rescheduled.

Stevie has gone to some length (look at the letter to the fans that she just released) to say that she thinks things should be like they were "back in the day." Apparently, she can not wield her power over ticket buying or ticket prices (my first ticket to a Fleetwood Mac concert cost $25) or even make a mention about those issues. Maybe she has no power or relevance anymore. Just go out and buy her album, but if we previously bought tickets for one of her shows that is now canceled, she can't do anything about that. Well, why not? Are you all really that powerless?

As an artist with a huge, loyal fanbase, she seems willfully disconnected. Well technically, you aren't owed anything. You've got the music.
And she IS still performing live. Be grateful for that.

She is fragile and has a history of cancelling dates. She is in her sixties.
Of course it's a gamble to outlay any amount of funds to travel to see her at this stage
in her career.

Whether she is detached or not, whether the exhaustion got changed to pneumonia,
whether she was afraid to get on a plane to NYC RIGHT after the guy that ordered
planes to NYC crash into buildings was nabbed, none of this matters.
If you jump ship, there will be another fan in line right behind you.

Stevie will be forgiven absolutely ANYTHING due to the highly obsessive nature of her fans.

*side eye* WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?

Being a fan is a dependent relationship. You like her more than she likes you. It doesn't have to be obsessive to be out of balance, and here's the thing: it's always out of balance. Why can't you just walk away? Well, because it's not rational. You like what you like, but you can't make it do what you want. So my advice is: walk away. Go cold turkey. You'll be happier. :wavey:

Wrong tree.

Karen Moss and Liz Rosenberg have little to do with her choice of performance venues.

I should send Liz and Karen a info packet about the Oakdale here in Wallingford. She never played there .I dont understand why.now it should be big enough for her.

No worries - the Oakdale, Mohegan Sun, and MGM Grand Theater are under consideration for an upcoming tour swing.

The Agganis Arena and Radio City Music Hall are also all but certain.

i was reading an article in the post gazette in pittsburgh about upcoming shows and they said stevie nicks/rod stewart show is pending. oh my i sure hope if she comes that its for her own solo tour. i am greedy and want a full show. she hasnt been to pittsburgh on a solo tour for years. the last time she came through solo i think was 2001 for her tisl tour. she came in 2005 with don henley but i missed that show and ended up going to ohio to see her that year.

Are you kidding...so let me get this right...so anytime any performer gets sick, they or their management, need s to extend gifts or freebies or a formal personal apology to each disappointed ticket holder? Are you serious? I'm sorry but I've seen Stevie perform when she was so sick she shouldn't haveeven left her bedroom let alone get on a plane or a stage....I'm not speaking for Stevie or her management or for The Ledge when I say...get a life!

I agree. I've traveled to many Stevie shows over the years: many L.A. appearances, 2- Arizona Heart Benefit shows and the Vegas extravaganza:rolleyes: in 2005. And I willingly chose to travel to the ill-fated show at Webster in NYC and lost thousands in airfare, accommodations and incidentals, and as we speak (knock on wood) I'm not 100% certain that the May 14th Vegas show will not be spared the same fate. But despite recent events and major disappointment and inconvenience, I never ever expected my loyalty towards Stevie & her music to be "repaid" in any form. Someone told me many many years ago when I was a teenager, that you cannot put a price tag on the things you love. And I LOVE Stevie Nicks and her music! She has given me decades of joy and inspiration with her songs, art and voice that I simply cannot put a price tag on it or expect anything in return. Every new song, album or tour is a gift. And this new album is yet just one more of her many gifts to her fans. I suggest to blemelin, that you put aside your anger & disappointment, and dig deep as to why you are a fan at all:shrug:. Because your bitter letter to Liz or whoever, comes across like a spoiled petulant child and does not serve you well or speak for the majority of the fans. Just my 2 cents.

I saw Stevie at MSG with Rod. Once is enough for that coupling. As a Stevie fan, it was painful to watch her sharing the audience with his people, some of whom were outright disrespectful. The show seemed pitifully short, and Stevie seemed not all that confident with the audience. I'm sure there's a thought that Stevie might gain some new fans by singing to Rod's fans, but anyone who has been around for Rod already knows Stevie and doesn't need to see her in concert to know they want to buy an album or not. That is flawed thinking.

AS far as Radio City being a scheduled date, it absolutely sucks that we were prepared to enjoy a unique Stevie experience at the Webster, and now will have to see her in the cavernous Radio City hall, imho a HORRIBLE place for a rock show. If she's there, I won't go.

ROD STEWART ANNOUNCES TWO-YEAR LAS VEGAS RESIDENCY

5/11/2011

Rod Stewart has signed on for a two-year residency at Las Vegas' Colosseum at Caesars Palace, joining the venue's other headliners Elton John and Celine Dion, according to Billboard.biz. The upcoming run at 4,100-seat venue will kick off on August 24th with the first 18 shows of the stand -- dubbed "Rod Stewart: The Hits" -- going on sale on May 15th. Rod promised that the show will feature "90 percent songs that people know" -- including "Maggie May," "The First Cut Is The Deepest" and "You're In My Heart."

He explained, "It's a rock n' roll show. We'll try to give the people what they want, which are the songs that made me famous, plus a few surprises. There won't be any magicians or midgets, just a good rock show." Rod will perform with a 13-piece band, and explained that he'll be able to change the show up on occasion, saying, "I've got the lineup to (make changes) -- all the mandolins and guitars. We'll throw in something from, say, (the) Gasoline Alley (album) -- maybe even 'Gasoline Alley.'"

Last year after a brief eight-night run at Caesar's, we asked Stewart if he'd like to sign on for a long-term extended Vegas residency: "Yeah, I'd love to. Yeah, I really would. Y'know, it's convenient for me, I'm only down the road in Los Angeles and I could fly home every night, But yeah, I would love to do it. Whether I could do it for months, and months, and months -- I don't know."

IMO, Webster Hall is not happening. And, I'm not so sure it was all for the fans. It was probably all for the record execs and press. Which is why I think...it's not going to be rescheduled.

I have no objections to Radio City. In fact, I've been waiting for the Radio City gig since the one scheduled after 9-11 was cancelled. But, for some reason, I'm thinking she's not going to do Radio City. She's had ample, ample opportunity to do that venue after that date and hasn't. So, I'm thinking it might be an issue of sorts. Or not...

She'll probably do Jones Beach, as usual. Maybe PNC in Jersey. And then Atlantic City. Jones Beach is not a favorite venue of mine. Especially after standing in over a foot of water last time with the electrical cords of the stage UNDER the water, and all of us freezing and pretending we weren't noticing the potential danger of electrocution.

Can't say Stevie fans aren't ... hardy... souls (a/k/a batshi* crazy)

I was at that one, too. See, strange things DO happen there. And I like it when the weather is good but...every time Stevie or FM are involved...odd things happen. Like that flooding and the fact that we had a JUNE SYW concert where it was so cold, I was actually wearing a winter jacket and STILL was cold.
But, that was a great, great concert. Stevie coming back from being ill and being totally awesome (and wearing everything in her closet, all at once...including that fabulous velvet coat-like thing and the gloves Lindsey was munching on).
OK-I'm up for Jones Beach now;-)

Radio City is beautiful, by the way, but it's fairly big. I don't know. I've been to quite a few concerts there and I've enjoyed them.
