Latest song rankings for me:
1. Moonlight
2. Annabel Lee
3. Secret Love
4. Everybody Loves You
5. For What It's Worth
6. Italian Summer
7. New Orleans
8. In Your Dreams
9. Wide Sargasso Sea
10. Cheaper Than Free
11. You May Be The One
12. Soldier's Angel
13. Ghosts Are Gone
14. My Heart
"Wide Sargasso Sea" has slipped quite a bit (it was #2 for me for awhile) but again this is all relative. I think songs 1-12 are excellent, and songs 13 & 14 are good. "Secret Love" has moved up quite a bit now that I've gotten used to other songs....I think it was initially suffering from "I know this song but I don't know the others" syndrome. "For What It's Worth" has moved up some as well. Even though I rank "In Your Dreams" at #8 I think it is the best choice for the 2nd single.

at first I was not happy with IYD, but it has grown on me so much now that I really do love this cd...finally...but the one song that I wish could have been done really differently was Soldier's Angel...I still think she could have used some Ol' Fleetwood Mac styling on it...get into the deep heart of it's darkness and make it totally haunting with a vocal that would make people feel angry or cause them to weep, here we have a song that really is just her sitting in a room bored...with no real emotion...and I blame that on Lins....he should have pulled a tom petty and said NO, you do it yourself...

Late with posting here, but I just joined up a week or so ago...anyway, after having a solid couple of weeks with IYD, here are my thoughts:
Secret Love: Definitely a radio friendly and excellent choice for the first single. Now if they had put the video up when the single was released...well, we won't get into that now.
For What It's Worth: This to me is one of her best tracks ever. The song moves me and I wouldn't mind seeing this one live.
In Your Dreams: Groundbreaking, no, but hell, it's a lot of fun and catchy as hell and a solid album track.
Wide Saragasso Sea: What an interesting song for Stevie to record, it's really different from anything she's done. It's not one I play a lot, but I think it's great and definitely love the guitar and drums.
New Orleans: Okay, this just makes me cringe...sorry, I'm just not a fan of Stevie signing about current, or not so current events. "I open up my gallery?" Really? Ugh!
Moonlight: This is the essential Stevie right here folks. Can't get enough of this one and hope it's the next single. I didn't have the demo of LFTM, so this was all new to me and it blew me away.
Annabelle Lee: Again, essential Stevie and she knocks it out of the park.
Soldiers Angel: While the lyrics are a bit self indulgent with her being a soldiers widow and what not, I still like the song. It actually wasn't as "cringe worthy" as I expected and Lindsay's guitar really makes this track stand out. Can anyone else hear a bit of The Chain in this? This one has me psyched for a new FM album if they can go for this edgy dark sound...very Tusk.
Everybody Loves You: This is my favorite track I think. I just love everything about it from the lyrics, production and that synth thing going on throughout it and she sounds amazing, especially the transition from the "....not just that, we cause each other so much...." Nice work with this one Dave!
Ghosts Are Gone: This one took a while for me to "get it", and now I have it on my playlist for the gym and think she nailed it here and hoping this is another selection to do live.
You May Be The One: A plus song all around and she could make a whole album with this kind of blues sound and do it well.
Italian Summer: This is so over the top and grand how can anyone not love this? Another track that sounds different from anything she's done which is great to see her branching out. Live? If she could pull this off....damn!
Cheaper Than Free: I know a lot of folks aren't a huge fan of this, but I think it's one of the best tracks on here. It's so simple, and could completely fail, but it just doesn't. The music is haunting and moving and think this is going to be a lot of couples "songs" for years to come....guess I'm trying to say this one could be a classic.
So yes, I am into this album in a huge way and it's right up there next to TOSOTM for me which was my favorite, now it's a tie.
