Earlier Wednesday, it was announced that Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli will take the stage to sing Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" to fundraise for Haiti relief.
Beyonce, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, the Dave Matthews Band and Taylor Swift -- who are all up for Album of the Year -- will also perform.

This is surprising but very cool!
Can I assume she'll show up on on the red carpet on Mr. Fleetwood's arm? ;)

But your telecast talk worries me. I never knew there were things that didn't make the final cut? If she is going to be there, we better get to see it! This is exciting! :woohoo:

She should go out on a limb and sing Stand Back. 2010 is a new year, Stevie, it's time to shake things up a little!

I'm sure it means nothing, but I just don't like the way they worded it... "musical performance" -- will she perhaps play the piano? Or tambo?
In any event, this gives me reason to actually watch the Grammys this year.

I highly, highly, highly, highly (one more time), highly doubt that she will sing one of her own songs. I am sure she will be onstage with 5-10 other artists doing some kind of medley to support Haiti.

If she is participating in the Haiti relief performance, then I hope she pulls out a rarity like Touched by an Angel.
If she's doing the MJ tribute, I personally would love to hear her sing You Are Not Alone. Using her upper register voice, this could be beautiful.
God help me if she sings Landslide, Stand Back, or Dreams.

I don't know why people care about what she sings. To be honest, most of the industry would be disappointed if she didn't sing a classic, just like they would be disappointed if Aretha Franklin didn't sing Respect. It's about a general audience, not hard core fans like us.

Why do I care about what she sings? I care because millions of other people will be watching this show and when they hear her sing a well known song such as Stand Back, the first thing that will come to their minds is, God, her voice has gone to hell.
I would prefer to have her sing a song that people aren't familiar with, or that her signature 70's/80's voice is not attached to, so I don't sit cringing on my couch.
But that's just my personal opinion. You don't have to agree or understand.

I understand where you are coming from, and feel the same way actually, i am just not expecting her to sing anything different if she does sing one of her own songs, because that's the way it's always been. She will most likely sing Landslide, due to the Haiti situation, but either way, i don't like to get my hopes up too high for something like this, because if she does sing Touched By An Angel or something completely out of left field, then that will be a complete surprise! Setting yourself up for disappointment is never a good idea, but i hope i'm wrong.

Now THAT I would love to see! I just heard another song the other day where Taylor was singing backup for another artist... and it was very Stevie-esque.
I think it is a given Stevie will be a part of some sort of collaborative effort on stage for the grammies... she won't just be up there alone.

Actually, everytime I play a post-1986 live version of "Stand Back" for a casual fan or a non-fan, they all pretty consistently say the same thing to me... "Doesn't she remember how her own song goes?... This doesn't sound anything like the song when they used to play it on the radio. " It's not only due to the lyric changes, but also because the melody of the words is almost completely different than on the album version.

I was thinking she'd wear something like that if she did a duo with a younger star such as Pink or somebody of that ilk.

I was thinking the same thing. And I was also thinking about the outfit she wore in the 60 minutes interview, in this video:

Not that i have anything serious about the Unleashed outfits, they were ok, but i really hope whatever she wears has a proper hankercheif type skirty thing...
because those short dresses from the unleashed tour make her look alot larger than she really is...
i don't know about anyone else out there but i think that on film stevie looks larger than she really is, when i saw the mac in dec she looked thinner compared to some of the live footage i'd watched from the tour but that could also be because of the angle from which most videos were taken:confused:
Anyhow, it's amazing that she's even getting this kind of exposure, so i hope she really goes all out....:D

I figured Stevie might have gone to the Grammys this year, but only as Mick's date. Finding out she's performing is awesome!! Hopefully she's not too nervous and just belts out whatever she plans to sing with no reservations!

I was watching some of the other ones scrolling at the bottom of that video and came across this 4 part interview from Rock a Little. I've never seen it before. Apparently she finished a book called "The Wild Heart" and there's a painting of Sister Honey. Really good interview... and she is smokin' hot! lol

One over here!
Apparently Foxtel will screen the awards live on Monday, Feb 1 from 12 midday on Arena (stupid work commitments). There will then be a repeat at 8.30pm (stupid house with no Foxtel).
Channel 10 used to do a delayed telecast, but I can't find any mention of that, and given the Foxtel repeat, perhaps that's the only place we get it.
Which is a shame, because this really is exciting stuff. I love good Stevie/Mac exposure
And by the way, welcome to The Ledge!

I am indeed excited to watch this performance, but I wonder why she's performing? Tribute to someone, or is she getting some special award? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Wouldn't it be funny to see Lady Gaga and Stevie sing together?! LOL! But hey you never know. I happen to like "the Gaga". She's got her own special style just like Stevie does. That's what makes them so cool and unique.

well now that you mention it, I can totally see Stevie singing with Lady Gaga, a slower number with Gaga at the piano. I think their voices could really work together, with the right song. Not sure if Stevie would be up for it but it sure as hell would be a more memorable "unique pairing" that The Grammy's have been known for in the past.

I'm guessing she'll either be a part of the Michael Jackson tribute, or an all-star Haiti tribute. She won't be performing an entire song by herself... my guess is she'll be a part of a medley; be a part of a group performance; or do a duo with a younger artist. As much as I don't care for the Gaga, I could see her requesting Stevie for a duo... just to be crazy and off the wall.

I cant see Stevie doing a duet with a woman. If Lady Ga Ga is already performing with surprise guest Elton John, i think Stevie will be dueting with a man, maybe Dave Matthews or someone that has not been announced yet.

Artists Gear Up For 'music's Biggest Night' -- The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards
Fri, 2010-01-29 13:37.
By: Lauren Moraski
Music artists have started touching down in Los Angeles, as the countdown begins for the 52nd annual Grammy Awards. On Sunday (January 31st), the Recording Academy will host what's billed as "Music's Biggest Night" at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Grammys will broadcast live starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
Beyonce leads the pack this year with ten nominations. Country star Taylor Swift is up for eight, while the Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Kanye West have six nods apiece. DJ David Guetta, Jay-Z, and Lady Gaga have five nominations each; and Colbie Caillat, Michael Giacchino, Kings Of Leon, John Newton, producer RedOne, Bruce Springsteen, T-Pain, and Keith Urban each have four nominations.
Performers will include all five Album of the Year nominees -- Beyonce, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Dave Matthews Band and Swift, as well as Bon Jovi, Green Day, Lady Antebellum, Stevie Nicks, Maxwell, Pink and the Zac Brown Band.
The show will also feature a 3-D tribute to Michael Jackson featuring Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood and Usher. Special 3-D glasses for the Jackson performance will be available at Target stores through Sunday.
Presenters will include: Stephen Colbert, Alice Cooper, Sheryl Crow, Wyclef Jean, Miranda Lambert, John Legend, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Seal, Quentin Tarantino, Placido Domingo, Juanes, Glee actress Lea Michelle, Lionel Richie, Keith Urban, Simon Baker, Ryan Seacrest, Chris O'Donnell, Robert Downey Jr., Kaley Cuoco, Kristen Bell, Justin Bieber, Jeff Bridges, Miley Cyrus, Josh Duhamel, the Jonas Brothers, Mick Fleetwood, Norah Jones, Ke$ha, LL Cool J, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana and Ringo Starr.
Mary J. Blige will sing a duet with tenor Andrea Bocelli on Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" -- as part of a fundraiser for Haiti earthquake relief.
Eminem, Drake, Lil Wayne and Travis Barker will team up for a special performance of Drake's single, "Forever."
Jamie Foxx will do a special segment with T-Pain, Slash and Doug E. Fresh.
According to the New York Post, Lady Gaga will do a duet with Elton John.
The circus-themed Grammy Celebration after-party will feature performances from Ne-Yo, Sam Moore and mixtape DJ Mick Boogie.
So she's not part of the MJ tribute. She's not part of the Haiti segment. She's not part of the Jamie Foxx segment. She's not part of the Elton/Gaga segment. Basically she's doing the same thing as:
-Lady Antebellum: whose new album is about to debute at #1 on the Hot 100.
-Green Day: who received nominations for the single "21 Guns."
-Maxwell: who was nominated for a ****load of Grammy's for his 2009 album.
-Pink: who has a couple of nominations for her Funhouse album
-Zac Brown Band: who was nominated for a ****load of Grammy's as well.
-Bon Jovi: who recently released a new album.
...and then there is...
-Stevie Nicks: nothing new to promote, no nominations.
This is truly puzzling. It's not like the Grammy's are going begging for performers; I am sure there are tons of artists who would kill for a performing slot and all of that exposure. The fact that Waddy will be there too means that she is not likely to be performing with another band. So by process of elimination, she is either doing a solo song, or she's doing something with Beyowulf, Taylor Swift, Pink or Maxwell.
The suspense is killing me!

"The ONLY reason I will be watching the Grammys is to see Stevie Nicks. I'm 20 years old and couldn't care less about artists like Lady Gaga or the Black Eyed Peas. I do listen to new music and I do have several songs by performers like Lady Gaga or the Black Eyed Peas on my ipod, but I don't consider their work to be great musical achievements. But I will suffer through all of that to see Stevie Nicks show the world that she still has it!"

Stevie doesn't need a reason to be there, SHE IS STEVIE ****ING NICKS! She doesn't need to promote anything to rock the grammys! :] But who knows, maybe during 2009 she made an album secretly and is going to the grammys to announce it and perform what is soon to be her new hit single!! Bahaha, one can dream.

From everything I've heard so far, my guess is that Stevie will be doing either a duet with someone or a short solo performance. Probably a duet, since she doesn't have anything new out herself. But here's something I've wondered about since I first heard that Stevie was performing on the Grammys - why ask Stevie, and not all of Fleetwood Mac? Although FM doesn't have anything new either, they have just finished a world tour! Plus, with all of the rumors flying around about a new album this year, to me it would make more sense for all of Fleetwood Mac to perform, rather than just Stevie. Unless Stevie is getting some kind of award, but I think we would have heard about that... It's puzzling.

I can't help but wonder if the Sunday performance has something to do with her recent studio time with Peter Asher. I know this is probably wishful thinking but perhaps the infamous New Orleans song may finally see the light of the day. It may have taken on new meaning for Stevie in light of the Haiti tragedy. This is assuming that the song was pretty much already complete before the quake hit. Or perhaps the tragedy really affected Stevie and motivated her to finally finish and/or transform the song. I'm babbling... she's probably just gonna sing Dreams and be done with it!!:laugh::laugh:

01-29-2010, 04:35 PM
My theory is that Stevie is laying the groundwork for a major solo comeback, and these award shows have a tendency to be the incubators for comebacks. There really is no other reason. She is not a particularly public person or some kind of a fame whore, so she really does things like this only when she has to. Considering that half of Fleetwood Mac is there, yet there is no FM reunion, is pretty glaring to me- this is not about the band at all. She's focusing on brand "Nicks" for the foreseeable future. I suspect that the past year has completely transformed her views about music- between the world tour, the CD signing, the PS22 choir, as well as the confluence of world events and the plethora of subject matter to write about, I think she has finally decided that the time is right for more music. There is more sand in the bottom half of the hourglass than in the top half, so one must do what one must do.

I just thought of something even wackier- that she should perform "Beautiful Child." Not only is it superficially relevant to the plight of Haiti (orphans), the song royalties were already assigned to UNICEF long ago. I suspect that all of the musical performances for the night will be available for download on iTunes.

I was thinking the same thing. Not only can she dedicate it to people of New Orleans, but also to the people in Haiti. She kind of did that when she did Landslide on the Today Show a while back right? She said it took on new meaning after Katrina. Or am I just remembering wrong?

Several people have posted Stevie-related comments on an article on huffingtonpost.com about the Grammys, even though the article doesn't mention her. Here's the link if anyone's interested: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-wild/backstage-view-11-reasons_b_440630.html
Apparently the author has some sort of inside connection to the Grammys...
I posted the following comment:
"The ONLY reason I will be watching the Grammys is to see Stevie Nicks. I'm 20 years old and couldn't care less about artists like Lady Gaga or the Black Eyed Peas. I do listen to new music and I do have several songs by performers like Lady Gaga or the Black Eyed Peas on my ipod, but I don't consider their work to be great musical achievements. But I will suffer through all of that to see Stevie Nicks show the world that she still has it!"
and he responded with the frustratingly vague:
"You will be happy you watched"
!! I am very very very curious!
Oh wow, the author is none other than David Wild!! Since he said that, then this is really happening for real, because this man has connections, and for those who forgot, he wrote the liner notes in the Crystal Visions booklet!

Artists Gear Up For 'music's Biggest Night' -- The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards
GRAMMY SOUND FROM BLACK EYED PEAS AND COLBIE CAILLAT
Will.i.Am tells us he's happy about the Grammy nominations and can't believe how well the latest Black Eyed Peas album, The E.N.D., has done: "We're just blessed to have six nominations. And how crazy The E.N.D. has performed. We've done big things with this. We haven't sold as much as we did on Monkey Business, but the things that we've done with The E.N.D. have surpassed Monkey Business ten-fold. You know, 27 weeks, Number One, the Oprah flash mob thing, the Direct TV spot, the Super Bowl kick-off, the Grammys, the AMAs. It's just crazy stuff."
Colbie Caillat is up for two nominations in the Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals category, including "Lucky" with Jason Mraz and "Breathe" with Taylor Swift. We asked her which song she'd rather seen win: "Oh, it's tough because I love both the songs so much, I don't know which one I'd want to win. I love Jason and Taylor. So whichever one, I think, well of course I'll just be excited."
Colbie Caillat tells us that she's taking her producer father as her date to the Grammys: "Well, my Dad he produced my last record, Breakthrough. He produced most of it. And my Dad has a Grammy from thirty years ago with Fleetwood Mac and he's the one who inspired me to become a musician and a songwriter. So he's the appropriate match to be my date. He deserves it."
Colbie Caillat tells us what she'll be wearing to the Grammys: "Bashley Mishka is designing the dress, and I got to help them custom make it -- material, cut, color, everything. So I'm really excited."

Gold Derby nuggets: Taylor Swift odds-on favorite at Grammys | Beyonce could be Grammys spoiler | Oscars shorts get longer exposure
January 29, 2010 | 3:56 pm
• James Montgomery previews Sunday's Grammys and reports that the betting world is touting Taylor Swift as the favorite to win. "Nick Weinberg, Ladbrokes' chief sports, politics and novelty oddsmaker, says, 'Beyoncé's odds are probably a bit shorter than they should be. Because she's a name, she can release a terrible album, and it would be nominated for an award. But Taylor Swift is the selection. All things being equal, she should win it. Quite an impressive record, which is why we made it our favorite.'" And Bodog.com sportsbook manager Richard Gardner agrees, "This Year's Grammy Awards could be a clean sweep in the three main categories as Taylor Swift is the favorite to win Best Album, Record and Song of the Year." Hey everyone! I just got back from day one of the GRAMMYs and had an amazing time. If you’re following me on Twitter (which you better be!) you can see that I’ve been overusing “omg!” and “wow!” like none other. But hey, I’ve got a reason to be excited. I’ve got full access to the GRAMMYs!
I got to hang out with the lovely ladies that volunteer for the GRAMMY Charities, and together we wrangled the celebs as they came through for signatures for the GRAMMY Charities’ Online Auction. Today, we a lot of well known names in music come through — Green Day, Fergie, Lil Wayne, Fleetwood Mac, Andre Bocelli, and more! Can you believe that? And the coolest part is that none of the musicians were snobby or annoyed with any of it, most of them actually take the time to really make the signature special with a cool doodle or a nice sentence or two. They recognize the importance of supporting these two great causes, and its very refreshing to see first hand!
Keep up with me and give me witty comments on what I should say to the celebs, I’ll be posting throughout the weekend with more fun stuff from The GRAMMYS!

Grammy rehearsals, day two: Taylor Swift, Dave Matthews, Maxwell, Green Day, and Black Eyed Peas
by Whitney Pastorek
Categories: Black Eyed Peas, Dave Matthews Band, Fleetwood Mac, Grammys, Green Day, Maxwell, Taylor Swift
Welcome back to the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles—across the street from the L.A. Live complex, which, as one tourist helpfully exclaimed while I was getting my coffee, is “totally like the Times Square of L.A.!”—for day two of Grammy rehearsals. (Read about day one here.) No press releases about new performers came out, but if Friday’s roster of stars doesn’t make you want to watch the show, you are never going to watch the show. After the jump: Dave Matthews Band, Maxwell, Green Day (with the cast of American Idiot), Black Eyed Peas, and Taylor Swift.
I have not purchased a Dave Matthews Band album since Crash, but the driving rendition of “You and Me” he’s doing on the telecast has persuaded me to go out and get Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. “My idea!” he enthusiastically crowed about the arrangement, a USC Marching Band-sized effort with a killer breakdown that showcased 1) Matthews’ oddly Pee-wee Herman-esque dance moves and 2) the Grammy Jazz Ensembles’ eight-piece horn section, made up of high school students from around the country. “They’re badass, aren’t they?” said Matthews after his run-through. “They’re outrageous players, and they’ve obviously put a lot of time and work into getting where they are. They’re so precise, so it’s a great experience for me.”
700-plus kids auditioned for the ensemble, and these lucky few are getting the musical week of their lives. I asked what the opportunity means for their future careers. “This really solidifies your chances to get into a great music school on a scholarship,” 18-year-old Matt Chalk explained. “And once you get into a good music school…” “…Sky’s the limit,” finished 17-year-old Dahi Divine. They got to play with Neil Young at last night’s MusiCares benefit, too. It is not an exaggeration to say their eyes were the size of metaphorical saucers. Dream big, Child-Sized Mixers! You never know what can happen. Matthews’ advice to up-and-comers? “Work, work, work at what you love. That’s all I’ve figured out.”
Matthews is also thrilled about DMB’s Album of the Year nom, though he’s not in it for the affirmation. “I think this is the best record the band has ever made, so it’s icing,” he said. “It’s cherry to be here. But it’s not going to change how I feel about the record.” (Number of references to Grammys as icing made to me by nominees this week: two and counting.) Since this year’s album race features a rather motley crew of competitors, I thought I’d ask him which of his fellow nominees he liked best. “I like Lady Gaga,” he told me. “She f—in’ rocks. Somebody said, ‘You’re the only rock band in there,’ and I was like, ‘Have you watched Lady Gaga?’” I made the mistake of asking if Matthews was planning to use a disco stick in future performances. “I’m wearing a disco stick right now,” he said. “On the inside.”
What a splendid/slightly uncomfortable transition into the silky, sexy sounds of Maxwell! This man’s voice is so seductive, his groove so smooth, it could strip the turtleneck off Diane Keaton. The six-time nominee materialized with his dark sunglasses and light falsetto to run through a combo of “Pretty Wings” (up for Song of the Year) and “Where is the Love” (not the Black Eyed Peas song), the latter alongside special guest star Ms. Roberta Flack. Loved watching Maxwell’s suave body language turn boyish and playful as he sang the Donny Hathaway part face to face with the R&B icon, and when they finished their first pass at the song, he grabbed her in a bear hug, then raised both arms in victory. (Fun fact: Did you know that Maxwell can be described by more adjectives starting with the letter S than any other performer on this year’s Grammy bill?)
When the cast of the forthcoming American Idiot musical took the stage with Green Day for “21 Guns,” it occurred to me that Dave Matthews really could have tried harder to get more people into his number. The Broadway-ization of this song is a little bizarre—there was a time when Dookie lived in my Discman, and I can’t say I ever envisioned this future—but I feel like the actors’ legit voices blend quite nicely with Billie Joe’s punk rasp. Then again, I liked Rent. You can get a little sonic preview of the number if you click through to the band’s site, where it’s streaming upon arrival; also, fans of Full House and the “2 Legit 2 Quit” video should get ready to learn exciting new hand gestures on Sunday’s show!
I lost my earplugs coming back from lunch, which was especially unfortunate given that the next band up was the Black Eyed Peas, a group that does not so much run a sound check as they do a systems test. Rhythmic blasts burst forth from keyboards and Pro Tools rigs. Strobe lights flashed. Some dancers dressed up as speaker-shaped robot transformers marked their moves. And then, like the collect-em-all Happy Meal figures they’ve become, the Peas leapt onto the stage via some sort of hydraulic piston system. The performance starts with “Imma Be,” but never fear—the Peas also have a feeling that Grammy night is gonna be a good night. That monster hit will be accompanied by YouTube clips courtesy of Time Magazine’s 2006 Person of the Year: You. Oh, millions of Americans—thank god you are never afraid to get retarded. (What? It’s a song lyric, people; look it up.)
And finally, Friday brought the chance to see Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks collaborate in one of those moments the Grammys are known for. Swift — who has a very good shot at sweeping this year’s major categories, in my opinion — doesn’t wear her Fleetwood Mac fandom on her sleeve as a songwriter, but it is apparently there, for after running through her current single, “Today Was a Fairytale,” she used her very most dramatic voice to introduce her duet partner: “And now, my fairytale dream comes true: I get to share a stage with Stevie Nicks.” The two women’s voices complimented each other nicely on the harmonies of “Rhiannon,” before moving into a more awkward mandolin-fueled hoedown version of “You Belong With Me.” Never thought I’d see Stevie Nicks playing tambourine behind Taylor Swift, but that’s the magic of Music’s Biggest Night.
For Swiftwood Mac and all the rest of the action, tune in to the 52nd annual Grammy Awards, live on CBS, Sunday, Jan. 31, at 8 p.m. ET/PT — and check back here tomorrow for more rehearsals including, but not limited to, Bon Jovi (most likely featuring Jennifer Nettles), the Michael Jackson tribute (Celine Dion and Usher in 3-D!) and Beyonce. And don’t forget to sign up for our Grammy live blog!

Thanks SO much for posting this. I knew it would be some kind of medley, and Rhiannon/You Belong With Me is perfect! I hope that it ends up on iTunes. I wonder how Stevie will interpret the high notes on YBWM.

I only hope there are some Youtube videos since my daughter is due to have her baby this weekend and I have a feeling I will be at the hospital tomorrow night:)
Will have to try to remember to set the DVR.

The "mandolin-fueled hoedown" version of YBWM is all because of Butch Walker. He already did a cover of it that Taylor was "blown away" with...here it is:
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KOQAjsi0YQA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KOQAjsi0YQA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
I'm positive that he will be part of this is as well - he's been tweeting hints for awhile about his big upcoming TV performance, his hunt for a banjolin (that a friend found for him "SWIFT"-ly.) Butch is my FAVORITE male singer-songwriter (saw him 5 times last year) - he's also a producer. I certainly hope their Grammy performance leads to Butch producing Stevie someday. I'm tickled pink that they'll actually share a stage together. Not only will Stevie get attention from Taylor's fans, this will be good exposure for Butch as well.

5 p.m. -- Taylor Swift
The country-pop queen with has no shortage of fans of all ages -- even Canadian-born producer and arranger David Foster shows up to catch her rehearsal. Clad in a black mini-skirt and shaking her long blond curls, the eight-time nominee opens her segment with her new single Today Was a Fairytale, which sold a record-breaking 325,000 in its first week. As that song ends, Swift says: "And then my fairytale comes true -- Stevie Nicks joins me onstage." At which point -- such is the power of Taylor these days -- the Fleetwood Mac heroine obediently emerges to duet on two songs, including Swift's You Belong to Me. If all of Swift's wishes get granted so easily, expect her to take home a slew of hardware on Sunday. Meanwhile, expect us to try to sneak into some more rehearsals on Saturday -- including performances by Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga and Elton John.

On Friday (January 29) Taylor Swift was in Grammy rehearsals with Stevie Nicks. Taylor sang a rendition of her current single Today Was A Fairytale before introducing the Fleetwood Mac singer.
“And now, my fairytale dream comes true: I get to share a stage with Stevie Nicks.”
Their voices complimented nicely for a rendition of Rhiannon. Afterwards, they both transition into Swift’s hit You Belong With Me which apparently involves a mandolin. You can read more about it at Entertainment Weekly’s Music Mix.

I am so pumped for this tomorrow night only because of what it could mean for stevie. Taylor Swift is
the hottest performer on the planet right now and anything she touches turns to gold. so many
people will be watching to see if she sweeps and also to see her perform so with her bringing stevie
out as a ''surprize'' guest i'll bet that the younger fans will start looking into stevie's music because
of taylor's intrest in her and many of the older fans that already know stevie might get into her
again if they have not followed her for awhile.
Stevie rarely does award shows so her being with taylor and a few hundred million people watching all over the globe just might give stevie's carear that rebirth that it needs.

I don't know what makes me despair most -- that this person (who I will presume is under the age of 12, but still) doesn't know who Stevie Nicks is, or that they didn't have the forethought to Google the name before posting a question they should have realised might expose their ignorance. C'mon kids! Be resourceful!
Hopefully Sunday night will mean we'll have a legion of Gen Whatevers not asking such questions anymore.

I'm so out of touch with reality, I have no idea what Taylor Swift even sounds like. I hear she can't sing worth two ****s live, and her albums are auto-tuned all to hell. I was hoping Stevie would just do HAEWAFY and be done with it.
Really, I'm incredibly nervous about this whole thing. The people who love Stevie will gush all over this, the people who hate her will keep on hating her, and I can't see the teenybopper generation being converted overnight. The Super Bowl Stand Back was a total fiasco. I think she lost a ton of potential fans from that alone.

I don't think she lost any fans there, but she didn't gain any of the beer kegger dude crowd either. But then again, no one in the Superbowl crowd who actually watches it for the game would ever admit to being a Stevie Nicks fan.

Taylor Swift sparkles in head to toe metallic as she arrives at the Salute To Icons Honoring Doug Morris held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday evening (January 30).
The 20-year-old musician tweeted a quote from pal band mate Caitlin that JJJ totally agrees with: “I’d hug you right now but… You’re really sparkly and I know stuff would fall off.”
Would you be afraid to hug Taylor in that dress?
Be sure to catch Taylor perform with Stevie Nicks at tomorrow night’s 2010 Grammys @ 8PM ET/PT on CBS.

Honestly, I couldn't identify one song that Taylor Swift sings (she's country, right??). I think Pink would have been a much better choice...they could have done "Sober"!!
Anyway, while pondering this last night, I think we're going to get one of three outfits from La Nicks:
a) black ruffle dress, rhiannon sleeves, ankle boots, possibly top hat (if she's feeling wild and crazy)
b) black ruffle dress, silver springs top (from unleashed), ankle boots.
c) white ruffle dress, black coat, black boots (Soundstage Edge outfit)
I'm hoping I'm wrong on all these counts because I would love to see her is something not so well worn but these are my predictions. Pretty sure it's gonna be (a)

This is definitely a good thing. I really don't understand Stevie Nicks fans. We complain that she isn't doing anything new and innovative (and I include myself in this "we," Stevie has done nothing but, with the exception of the soundstage signing, disappoint me over the past three years), we complain that her setlist is tired, and we complain that she doesn't strive to get herself enough exposure or open herself up to new audiences. Then we're given the Grammys, and a performance with one of the hottest young singers in America right now, along with Stevie's vocals on two new songs we haven't heard before, and we complain that we don't like Taylor Swift, and that she doesn't deserve to be on a stage with Stevie? Give. it. up. This is good for Stevie's career, it's good for her longevity, and hopefully, it'll be a damn good spark for her creativity. I don't care if Taylor Swift ran over your puppy, laughed about it and then turned the experience into a really catchy pop number---you should realize that there's a huge audience for the ode to your dead dog and be happy to hear Stevie sing on it.
