Why are you proud of the place where you're from?

I come from Pittsburgh, PA. And when I'm asked about my hometown pride, one thing comes to mind: DONNIE ****ING IRIS.

Can you beat that? I think not. Go ahead and try.

tbh because we have bands like this:

<object width="212" height="175"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hDHhvTIhR4o"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hDHhvTIhR4o" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="212" height="175"></embed></object>
(tbh you can skip the first minute and a half)

and also bands like this:

<object width="212" height="175"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vdU6S5tRUSI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vdU6S5tRUSI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="212" height="175"></embed></object>

Sharon, you would have won the thread already had you only posted this in addition!:

EDIT: But you posted Siouxsie; that's just as good! Now if only there were trees...

I'm proud of the place I'm from because one day I plan to have a kid, place him behind the wheel of my car, and tell him "This is your hometown."

The Clash, Bowie and the Stones cannot be topped by anything.
I am OOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLDDDDDD ~wails~!

Anyway. Holland is cool too, because, ehm..... well, we have windmills and stuff! Yeah! And CHEESE! and Tulips! And liberal laws! even though those have been changing somewhat...

CT sucks. The 'Heads, thankfully are from around here tho. They all met and formed in Rhode Island and NYC, and they all live here in CT except David, who is in NYC. So yeah, they're mah hometown crew.

Pittsburgh is also lucky enough to have the claim on The Clarks so yeah, we pretty much dominate. :wavey:

I think only Emma and Geri are proper Londoners, but Siouxsie, like Bowie, is from Bromley!
Geri's from Watford! (Is that part of London?) But Emma's the only Spice from London, yes. Since I'm in the US, though, all of England is the same. :P

EDIT: We also have schools that have taught people like this (albeit briefly):

Watford is on the London tube map but technically it's just outside of London. I think she still qualifies. She's definitely got a London accent
These things are important Greg!

Will you be buying Geri's kids' book?

http://www.ugenialavender.com/
zomg. Awww. idk idk as much as I love Geri, I don't know if I'd take it that far. I still haven't bought her second book.

.. Or Melanie B's book. Or Victoria's book. Or a bunch of their solo albums. I'm a bad fan. :( I did buy Geri's autobiography, though! That was a good one.

But the real issue here is: HOW CAN LONDON NOT HAVE TREES? That's just a travesty. :distress:
