It cannot GET much better than Fort Worth, Texas, baby, yeahhhhh!!!!!! The concert WAS taped for the DVD and the guy we asked said it would be around 6 months when it was coming out. So...June or something, I guess.
Bass Hall is frickin' gorgeous, the acoustics were AMAZING and there were NO security people like at all. It was a frickin' free for all!! My tickets were for the 2nd row on the left. Then, about 1/3 of the way through or something, this lady asks the people in the front row on the left side to move into some empty seats in the front row and second row....they obliged. Incidentally, it was #1LiddyBuckFan (Hey Lindsey!!!!!!! WOOOO!!) and her best friend that got to sit front row in the middle. My mom and I moved up into the vacant seats. YEAH!!! The cameraman was all over out side, up and down the aisle, down the front row....in the corner, just everywhere. He took some video of me holding my Lindsey Rules sign. LMAO!! I am so on this frickin' DVD....you will NOT miss me. He did the usual setlist, SMAP included tonight and then Turn It On and Shut Us Down. He messed up a bit on SUD, then started over and went "The illusion's gone." or something like that. BWAH!! I'm sorry, but the balcony people...sucked. Right before GYOW, he points his guitar up there and goes "Get up!" and I look back....yeah, not a soul was standing. I motioned and went "GET UP!!!" Losers. LOL
After the show...we waited out by the car we KNEW he'd have to get into. We waited...and waited...and waited, with me running back and forth to see if we were waiting in the right spot. Finally, they moved the car and drove way out of the way. We went to the back of the venue and some guy from the video people said "He's gone already." Whatever dude. We walked around and I'm all....I am going around the other side. So, I go over there and LO AND BEHOLD, the white car!! I motion for my peeps and they stampede. LOL!! We waited another 20-25 minutes or something maybe and finally, out comes Lindsey and Kristin. He took photos with everyone, signed stuff and was just FRICKIN' AWESOME! Kristin got into the car and waited patiently. Stargazer was there (Hi, Mary!!) and her son/husband were there too. I took a pic of her, her son and Lindsey! It's a terrific pic of them. :) I'm glad she waited because it was about 11:30PM or so when they finally came out. Show started at 8:30PM and ended maybe 10:30PM...don't quote me on the times though.
He made a comment that he was going to eat at Joe T. Garcia's (famous Mexican food restaurant in Fort Worth) tomorrow and my mom goes "What time!?" He goes "I'm not going to say what time." Hee!!!! I hope that gets left in there, but I doubt it.
Also, right before I'm So Afraid...I screamed out "YES!!!!!" and I pray that gets left in as well...because it was awesome.
I didn't take photos or video. Sorry! I don't really know why...I just wanted to enjoy this special show. Can't wait to see what gets left in and edited out.
Here is my photo with LB!!!!!!!!! He's not looking at my mom, but who cares! Also, Lindsey (the Ledgie, #1LiddyBuckFan) took a pic of me and him...so, when she emails me the pic...I'll post or she can post...or whatever.
AAAHHH...trying to remember details!! LOL OH! NO COWBOY HAT GIRL TONIGHT!!! YESSSSS!!!!!
My life is complete...I have a photo with Lindsey. Heh. OH, I went up to him and said "Lindsey, could I have a photo with you. I've been to like 10,000 shows." and he goes "Sure!" He was in a GREAT mood tonight.

FORT WORTH -- When you're essentially a cult artist who has sprung from a mega-selling band, sometimes you have to strike a balance in concert. For Lindsey Buckingham, that tightrope is strung between 30-year-old Fleetwood Mac songs about a relationship gone awry and present-day ones about finding peace in the marriage he's in now.
In his show Saturday night at Bass Hall, Buckingham pulled off the high-wire act and then some, playing several songs off his excellent new CD Under the Skin and his biggies from 1977's Rumours -- Go Your Own Way, Second Hand News, Never Going Back Again -- but also touching on many other aspects of his Fleetwood Mac tenure and his solo career.
The show's best moments came when Buckingham messed with the old stuff. When he pulled out an explosive, eardrum-rewiring guitar solo on I'm So Afraid, he may have risked self-indulgence -- except that he seemed to lose control, becoming possessed by the screaming tones that filled the hall. That was the high point, but it wasn't the only highlight.
Space doesn't permit listing all the examples, but another wild solo to climax Go Your Own Way and a malevolent take on the 1984 solo hit Go Insane, which sounded more like something from a spaghetti Western than the bouncy original, were among the many peaks.
Sometimes playing solo, other times with a band (guitarist Neale Heywood, percussionist Taku Hirano and bassist/keyboardist Brett Tuggle), Buckingham may have shocked anyone who still thinks of Fleetwood Mac as '70s soft-rock.
Rippling through finger-picked guitar runs, modulating his vocals from near-whispers to full-throated bellows, leading the group in the oddball sonic experiments he so loves, Buckingham showed why some people call him visionary even as his opening number Not Too Late indicated that he's uncomfortable with the term.
If the show had a flaw, it was in the momentum-threatening interruptions that occurred because the concert was being filmed for Mark Cuban's HDNet. But even with those minor glitches, Buckingham danced all over the tightrope, when he could have settled for just walking.

Is he carrying his own sweaty black t-shirt?
wondergirl9847
01-28-2007, 12:27 PM
I think he did, in fact, change his shirt...into that button one. One I'd not seen before. That black shirt really does need to die...it's been through the mill. LOL
ETA things I am remembering: When mom and I went up during GYOW, I noticed Lindsey's finger was bloody. I barely touched the guitar...like, we're talking almost phantom-like. LOL He kept teasing us with the rocking back and forth. I couldn't reach it.
I really don't think the people who go to LB shows, who've never seen him before, realize what they are in for. They are thinking a sit-down, "lite-rock" show or something. Then, you hear people after the show go "OMG, that was phenominal." I'm thinking to myself "Duh." LOL
I stood up for SHN, nobody made me sit down...and I noticed only me, Lindsey (#1LiddyBuckFan), her friend and maybe one other lady were standing up on our side.
Nobody yelled out any songs. There was funny banter thoughout the show though. He said Bass Hall was a beautiful theater (OMG, it's gorgeous!) and when talking about Red Rover, he said the whole gods speil...but then looked up and went "Maybe there are gods up there in the clouds right now." because the ceiling in the place has feathers and clouds painted on it.
When talking about UTS...he didn't tell the story like he usually does. He didn't say "Someone I know was having trouble getting from one place to another....yada, yada." He said (Paraphrased) "Within us is the strength to move from one place to another...etc." Can't remember the exact wording, but I did say to my mom "Hey, that's a little different story than usual." He also said something before SUD, but I cannot freakin' remember it!! He explained the song a smidge.
I need help from someone with an amazing memory for detail that was there last night! LOL
I LOVE that picture of you and Lindsey. Toooooooo cute!!!! He really is the best.

Hey Christy! It was great meeting you and Lindsey (#1LiddyBuckFan) after the concert Saturday night.
I don't have too much to add to your review. It was a great show. Lindsey was, as you stated, in a great mood. He was very playful with the crowd, and seemed to be having a great time up there. When he messed up at the beginning of SUD, and started up again, someone yelled "Get it right this time". He started laughing and had to stop playing again, and replied something like "Settle down, you guys, and let me play!". It was great to see him so relaxed and not taking himself too seriously.
One other weird thing that happened. About 5 songs in, he mentioned that the show was being taped. Then he said "So, I'll be right back". He put his guitar down and went backstage. Everyone was looking around, like "WTF?" Even the band seemed to wonder what was going on. They were joking that they couldn't remember the chords for the next song anyway. There seemed to be some yelling going on backstage. It sounded like someone back there called "Lindsey!". After a couple minutes, he came back onstage, picked up the guitar, and introduced the next song. No explaination as to why he left the stage. I'm not sure what that was about. Maybe he just had to go to the bathroom?
Anyway, meeting Lindsey of course was the highlight of the evening. He was incredible with the fans! I was afraid he'd just wave, get in the car, and leave. But he took time with everyone that asked him for a picture or autograph. He was incredibly nice and gracious. And he was wonderful with my son, Josh. When I asked if we could have our picture taken with him, he knelt down to get to Josh's level. He also gave Josh his autograph, and talked to us for a few minutes. He thought that Josh was the same kid that was sitting up front with drumsticks. (Josh actually did not attend the show with me.) When I told him that wasn't him, he said "Really? That kid looked about the same age." The way he said it was like he didn't believe it was a different kid! LOL
The picture is hysterical. Lindsey has a little of the "deer caught in headlights" look. I am grinning like a maniac, and look like stalker psycho fan. And Josh is wide-eyed, staring at Lindsey like he's thinking "I can't believe I'm actually standing next to Lindsey Buckingham!" (My son adores Lindsey, and used to be quite obsessed a couple years back. He'd play his little guitar, watching The Dance and SYW, immitating Lindsey to a tee.)
(Christy, your picture with him is incredible! You both look great.)
I also got to meet Taku when he came out earlier. He also asked me if Josh was the kid with the drumsticks! LOL He was incredibly nice and down to earth as well. I told him that Josh loves Lindsey, but I didn't take him to the show because I was afraid he was too young, and that he's sensitive to loud noise, so I thought the music would hurt his ears. I said that after seeing the kid with the drumsticks, who had on ear protectors as well, that I was beginning to think maybe I should have just gotten him ear plugs or protectors. Taku proceeded to tell me that he used to wear the protectors when he started drumming, and told me where I could get some!
Anyway, as Christy already mentioned, it was a great night and a great show. I'm glad I finally got to see him solo.
BTW, I did take a handful of pictures. Here are a few that turned out halfway decent:

OK, so first I have to say…Ledgies Rule!!! I had so much fun this weekend!!!
I tried not to keep this so long, but you might have to take an occasional break to finish reading it. So, I apologize early for being long winded.
I was lucky enough to get front row seats on the left side of the stage for my best friend and I – I was pleased because I wanted to play his guitar. I found out in Austin, Christy was right behind us. How lucky was that?? I
Thanks to you Ledgies, I read about the filming at Bass Hall but wanted to confirm it, so I called the venue and THEY claimed to not know a thing about it at all. So, I was concerned it was just a rumor but we decided to put on a little more make-up just in case. LOL  As we walked up to Bass we saw the signs on the doors and I knew it: There would be a taping!! Woo!!
We get to our seats and spot Christy and her mom…then we decided it was time to work out a game plan. Can we stand? Can we talk to him? Can we let our true ‘freakshow’ out? OR Are they going to drug us and expect us to be drones Ã* la The Dance. Christy and I go speak with the film crew and ask the protocol…they tell us their plan and how they don’t want to get in our way because we spent all of this money (Ahem…yeah right, see “I know I’m Not Wrong” below).
The show starts…he gets an ovation before he does anything which was really cool. You can tell he’s pumped. The first 3 songs, I was already getting some “eye loving” from Lindsey whenever the camera guy wasn’t in front of me and when Second Hand News started…I was standing. I couldn’t help myself! Brett loved us up dancing too…lots of thumbs up and nods from him. So, after SHN, Lindsey explains that the show is being filmed but if we could just give him a second. He leaves the stage for a minute if even that and comes back and gets geared back up. Seconds after this, Jessica and I are approached to move over to the center front (an area originally supposed to be empty for filming.) At first I actually thought maybe Lindsey went back and had us moved over because we were awesome, knew all of the words and just having fun…how cocky is that, right? Well, y’all…he did have us moved. I hung out with the film crew for a bit at the Flying Saucer. They recognized me and came over…they asked me my name and I told them, “Lindsey” After their initial “No ****?!” reaction to my name, they said “Well Lindsey, you got some major face time for this DVD! Hope you don’t mind!” WOW So I asked why Lindsey left the stage in the beginning…and they told me to move us over. How kick ass is that?! So, not only did Lindsey “upgrade us”, he played to Jessica and I A LOT. The interaction with him was fantastic! Here’s a quick rundown of my lovin’:
Second Hand News: Lots of eye contact on this one and a quick point!
It Was You: I felt like we were the only ones yelling for his kids. Christy, were their other people screaming? He loved that a few people were in any case.
I Know I’m Not Wrong: Always love jumping up for this song! Unfortunately shortly after it started, I got plowed by the cameraman. He knocked me back into my seat. The look on Lindsey’s face was classic though. It was a cross between confusion and shock. I got right back up!
I’m So Afraid: WOW!! I hope Christy's powerful scream makes the DVD on this one! Jessica and I had pretty much this entire solo played right to us!! There are no words for this experience. Now I’m a guitar player. I respect the man’s skills first and foremost but good God, but I am a woman and Guitarbation a foot away!!…I need a cigarette just thinking about it!!
Tusk: I made signs for this one. They weren’t big but Lindsey could read them. They said “Real Savage-Like”. My hope was that he would read it and say it for everyone to hear. Well, he did something even better! He saw the sign and kind of scrunched down, jamming and started his “I’m creeping up on you walk while staring you down” with that growly look on his face (Y’all know what I’m talking about ) toward us repeating “real savage-like”. HOT! SO HOT! I hope they got close-up of him doing that for the DVD!!
Go Your Own Way: Got to play THE guitar…’nuff said! HELL YEAH!!
Save Me A Place: I got some eye contact while he sang some of the song. That meant a lot just because of how much I adore SMAP. Got a little tear in my eye on that one!
He was very responsive to the audience and in such a great mood. Laughing. A couple of his “jokes” bombed, but he laughed it off. He sang every song with so much passion (yes, seemingly more so than always). I know it was because of the taping, but it was so overwhelming and blissful! :blob2: It should be a fantastic DVD!! I sure hope Turn It On makes the DVD cut…he was reading lyrics off the ground on that one. Maybe it’ll sneak in…I enjoyed that immensely!
Christy pretty much told you about the picture session after the show…we waited about an hour for him to come out and thanks to Christy, we waited! He was SO accommodating and sweet and ultra smiley!! I can’t express enough just how amazing it feels to have him put his arm around you. I caught eyes with Kristen, waved and thanked her because she seemed ready to go. She seemed very sweet about it though. Here is my Ft. Worth picture and some various others. The film crew is the last shot! “I’m in the Go Your Own Way shirt. I’ll post my Austin picture with him soon!
Thanks for letting me get it all out!! LOL :wavey: Can’t wait for the 3rd leg! :]

Well, if you think about it for the DVD, it would make sense to put a few of the respectful yet entertaining "crazies" who know all of the words to his songs up front in the middle orchestra section...he just happened to get lucky that we were so conveniently close and easy to move over. You know how some people at a Lindsey show just like to sit and not even move. With Christy so near us too...We got some people standing up with us.

If my memory serves me right, the signs on the door stated that we were waving our rights to Warner Bros. etc...The film crew reconfirmed what another guy told us...about six months until the DVD will be completed. I would guess that it's a Buckingham release.

Between last October 24 and January 27, I went to 12 shows.
2 - Chicago
1 - Phoenix
1 - San Francisco
1 - Denver
1 - Seattle
1 - Vancouver
2 - Vegas
1 - Austin
1 - Houston
1 - Fort Worth
My favorite shows were the 2nd Chicago show (even though I got thrown out. LOL), Vancouver, and really...all three Texas shows, but Austin and Fort Worth were freakin' amazing for different reasons. I loved Austin because he did SYHA (I'd never seen it live before!!) and Fort Worth was my hometown show, I got to meet him, get a picture and it was taped for the DVD so he was on fire. They were all great shows for different reasons though.
I had amazing seats for them all too. Had front row for both Chicago shows, Seattle (only because I parked my butt in a seat on the front row and nobody showed up, so I stayed. LOL), both Vegas shows and after Lindsey (#1LiddyBuckFan) got moved over, I took her seat in the front row on the side in Fort Worth. I never had a seat past the 4th row for any of these shows, so I'm super blessed. :)
I do plan on going to the very last show on the tour and I'll have to wait to see about my finances and where he travels on the third leg.
ETA: Hey, two shows is better than none!! I don't think ANYONE should miss seeing him on this tour, even if you can only hit one...it's worth it!

I'm praying he does some UK dates. I'd love to see this tour, but it's looking very unlikely. The June/July dates will probably be round the US again :(
