Is this the one where some guy yells out "KISS ME!" and Stevie tells Lindsey to shut up so they can take the picture?

Her voice in that - so effortless back then - Le Sigh!

I downloaded a great version of this song a few years ago, but have since lost it - all i can remember about it was that it was not the album version, but was perfect quality. Can anyone help?

DAVE

Yes. I've got a few I'll upload for you a little later today.:)

This is actually the mp3 of the song, it's a little fuzzy sounding but it's still really good. I'm not sure what song she's singing at the beginning, but if anyone knows, please let me know. ~ Kristen

It's Christine's song "Love in Store" from Mirage.

Thanks for posting those amazing Bella Donnas!

Why?, with these amazing quality outtakes, doesn't Stevie release all of her albums remastered and extended????

Here's hoping somebody somewhere will have the foresight to put those packages together, after all it is becoming more and more apparent with time, that Stevie is THE voice (and songwriter) of a generation, and her albums evidence of this

Cheers

Wait.... What???

At the beginning of the recording, you can hear Stevie start to sing a song and I didn't know what the song was. I flipped through some old songs and found that it was actually Christine's song. It's only the first couple of lines to the song though.

Yeah, you don't hear it on all the clips that are floating around, but if you see it from the beginning she's getting her makeup done and she's singing "I can't fight it... anymore... with you around I believe our love is sure... never take your love away" and then the instrumental of Book of Love starts up. She says something to the makeup person and her backup singer. My friend swore she said "this is the one I was telling you about. This is what I'm talking about. Can you believe this ****?"

We always thought that they were in rehearsal and Lindsey heard her singing and started to play his song over hers just to piss her off, so she decided to get back at him by singing her lyrics to his song. But after finding out it was all on tape and he was nowhere around, I'm sure that was not what she said. LOL!

Before I go asking for stuff again and again, is there a place to go if you have nothing at all Stevie related? Literally all I have is what's on Dime at this very moment plus the Melbourne show which is probably down now that CV is out.

I don't wanna be a moocher, but the only stuff I have for trade is not Stevie or FM related.....

Okay I just joined the Ledge in March so I missed when this thread first started~ I've been a collecter of Stevie for about 25 years and there's still a few rare demos that I don't have~ none of the ones you guys posted in January are still available for downloading~ could anyone Pleeeeeaaase repost or upload some of these again~ I don't have Annabel Lee! I also don't have the cleaning lady version of Sara~ I would loooove that!

I got the Rumours album for Christmas in, I think, it was 1977. But I didn't really fall hard for the music of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks until about 1981-82 when a couple of pivotal things happened. I heard SDMHA on the radio and couldn't believe it was the same chic that sang Dreams. Then, I moved to Avon, Colorado in 1982 and there on MTV they constantly played Gypsy. I got my hands on a copy of Mirage and once I heard That's Alright, I was gone. From that day on, I couldn't ever get enough Nicks. It has really been a huge bonus having the internet community for the last 10 or so years as far as info and then that whole thing went down with the storage unit being auctioned off that was once owned by Modern Records. When I heard Julia and The Dealer in their more pristine forms for the first time, I almost died. I think a lot of us were hoping that stuf like Jimmy Come Back would leak too but to date it hasn't happened that I know of.
I'm glad you enjoyed all of the "Saras." There were some great perfromances of it in 80 it seems and the echo is just perfect in the Melbourne show. I think I have a couple more like that on CD, Baton Rouge stick in my mind for some reason but didn't find them on my computer. I'll have to look around and see if I'm right about that.
Anyway, I'll post the B/N live show for you in a zip format a little later. I was going to do that last night but it was getting late. Also, I'll go ahead and post the Fritz songs I have. We used to have links to the Fritz tunes as Javier Pacheco provided them and talked about releasing them at one point. I think the links are long gone so if Javier is still lurking around here, I hope he doesn't mind that I post them.
Thanks for letting me tell my stories. Have you been a long time fan?

You're so generous and I'm very excited to hear B/N live and Fritz tunes~ I've been a fan since I was 9 when I first saw the WWD tour on HBO in late '82-'83 time frame~ I just was in awe of her~ I immediately fell in love w/ her raspy powerful voice, mixed w/ her femininity, her haunting lyrics and her mysteriousness. I thought the boots were the coolest thing I'd ever seen paired up with her hippie gypsy witch look! I must have watched it 30 times that month~ each time it was on! My parents thought I was nuts! My first album ever was WH shortly after and that was the end of it for me! So its been about 24 years. I've been looking for Fritz stuff for many years and yes thanks to the computer rare stuff is all more accessible! I just got a computer last year and just got on the internet this year so I've been out of the loop the past ten years! I also went through a divorce after having 3 children so I drifted away from mad Stevie collecting for awhile~ but now that I've been on the computer lately, the fun is starting all over again for me! I'm so glad you're being so kind as to share something w/ me that I've been looking for for many years~ thanks again~whenever you get the chance!

Buckingham Nicks Live zip:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GKMGRPNM

Notes: This is a large zip file so the download could take a while. Some of these tracks are from the Tuscaloosa, Alabama show. There are also some other live tracks. I'm not sure where those are from as there are two Rhiannon's, I believe. The tracks aren't numbered (sorry, that's the way I got them) but if you listen to the show a few times, you can figure out how to sequence it. Personal favorites of this set: Stevie rocking out at the end of Long Distance Winner and singing part of All The Beautiful Worlds in Telephone Line. Enjoy!

oh, and my name is christine btw :)

i guess my stevie story is that my mom is a classic rock freak, and one day GOYW [not a stevie song though] came on the radio, and i just loved it. she meracoulously had a FM tape. so i gave it a listen. I really enjoyd all of the tracks off of it [not tusk so much at first, but it grew on me  ]. FM has been my favorite band ever since, and Steve and co. solo just kindof came naturally. I always new about the songs though, when I was younger [about 10] whenever Rhiannon came on I would always try to sing along to it, and my mom always said stuff to me lol], I've been a die hard fan for 10 months basically  but you could say i did always like stevies songs...dreams and rhiannon...

I have a Fleetwood Mac request and didn't think it would probably warrent a new topic. After hearing the new Stand Back remixes, one of my favorites is the Dave Aude mix, I LOVE it! I seem to remember he did a remix for FM's Go Your Own Way and after hearing the great job he did with SB, I REALLY wanna hear GYOW. Could someone please post it? Thanks!

Okay I hate to sound so dumb but after I saved it I went to open it and it asked me which program to run it by~ I had no idea so I picked windows media player and it said I couldn't do this cause it was to long or something~I don't have a MP3 player~ nor do I know much about those~ do I need one to listen to BN live? Or did I just pick the wrong program to open it buy? I have no idea! Now I have to delete the file cause its stuck with Win media player and then I'll have to download it again but I still don't know which progam to open it with or how to unzip it! Sorry to be such a pain~ I'm lost !!!

ok i had the same problem. what i did was-
i unziped the file
then i dragged these files into a whole different folder. [not itunes/the program you want to open them with].
then drag them into the program
they should open.

if they dont i dont know what else to say :distress:
you do not need an Mp3 player. i use itunes. i just drag the music into it.

i hope that helps you belladonnadream :)

Keeping in mind that I am the one who Computers for Dummies was written for, here's how I do it. Double click on the zipped file - you should now see on the screen all of the individual files contained in the zipped file. At the top left of the screen you should see a box that says 'Folder Tasks' and in that box it reads 'extract all files'. Click on that. A new box should appear entitled 'Extraction Wizard'. Follow those steps and your files should be extracted and ready to listen to or burn. Hope this helps!

Thank you but how do you unzip it? I keep deleting the file and redownloading it but it comes up with the picture icon of media player and when I click on it it says it won't play on this program? How do I get the programs to pick from to open it to come up again? Thanks
Jenni

i unzip mine by leftclicking on 'propioties' [not spelt right]
and it just says 'unzip' basically lol
sorry i cant be more helpful :(

It means that when a thread is lower down on the page and no one has responded for a while that someone replies to bring it back to the top of the page.

Gldstwmn,

What is that symbol in your sig called?
My jeweler has a bracelet available with that as one of the links, and I know Stevie wore a necklace with that on it, but I never knew the name of the design...

I think it's the same as the symbol on the Cartier (?) necklace that Stevie frequently wears. I'm not sure what the symbol itself is called but it is said to signify good fortune and longevity.

I believe it is of Chinese/Far East origin. At least, that's the way I remember it being categorized by Cartier in their catalogue.

Thank you. I bought a necklace with that design on it about a year ago, but I cannot remember what they called that exact design, but I do believe it was Far East, as you said...

Well, All Over You has been in dispute for a long time. A lot of people don't think that's Stevie. I don't think we've ever come to any definitive conclusion one way or the other.

Well, if Prince had it recorded and it was done in a studio with an engineer then there's a good chance I might be able to find out. I babysit for one of Prince's engineers. It's going to take me some time to work up the balls to ask him though. I still haven't asked him about Rock a Little yet...

not to further shift focus on the thread, but I have a few semi-close up pics of her wearing this necklace (some of the old Borgata pics that I STILL didnt post yet!)...maybe tonight will be the night I get around to it finally!

If you listen to the part at the begining where they're just talking, then yes it certainly sounds like her. The vocal sounds like her too but that stuff can be manipulated. I always thought she was singing on Family Man until I found out it was Lindsey using a variable speed oscilator. He can mimic her harmony to a T and does so on many of his songs.

Do you think he used the variable speed oscilator to mimic her hermony on Trouble in any way because although he has credited his then girlfriend which if memory serves me correctly was Carol Ann, I can hear Stevie so much exept right at the very end!

I haven't listened to the recorded version of Trouble in quite some time. I'll have to go dig it out. From what I remember, the harmonies are very Fleetwood Mac-ish, in line with that era. Now that I think about it, it sounds more like Chris from what I remember. But I've said it before and I'll say it again. For proof postive that Lindsey can mimic the entire FM sound just listen to Countdown. He completely mimics Mick's drum style, Christine's keys and John's bass. In fact that little bass thing he does at the beginning really reminds me so much of John. And the harmonies sound like something off of Mirage, Book Of Love to be specific. I think if he gave Carol credit for the backing vocals, then she probably did sing them. But he lived in his studio then so it wouldn't surprise me if the vocals were manipulated in some way.

It's not painful at all. Just a little pin prick... Anyway, besides the La Mer, I always thought she had some kind of laser resurfacing done and maybe some Restylane. Now that **** hurts. They have to numb you before.
