Obviously my shorts are tragic.... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/antisnark/mejumprope.jpgNo... what's tragic is the fact that I'm pretty certain I used to have the same shorts when I was little. :o

Here's some I love of me with my dad....

This one isn't really a good pic, I'm just posting because it reminds me of Carrie and Johnny Stew:

Um, my aunt crocheted that for me when I was born, and I still use it to cover my awesome comforter, and it isn't really ugly, as far as afghans go. So step off my afghan made with love by my sweet aunty Carol!!!

Of course it's dripping with love, but you gotta admit that black, powder blue, maroon, and big bird yellow is a suspicious color combo. It's cool. I have one that is black white and red that looks straight off an outtake photo of OSOTM.

My dad is the only dad in the world who looks good in wifebeaters. :) And without even beating the wife!!! He's like "Mr. Arms".
Must show off another dad pic :woohoo:

ooo, velour? mmmm. :woohoo: You had the cool preteen version, too, because you were older. I hope you wore it to the skating rink.

Okay, I swear I'll stop after this, but I love these pics, too. I guess these were all the same day, we went from basketball to softball, or vice versa. Fun day. I remember I loved that outfit I was wearing. We used to get together with family and friends sometimes and all go play softball. My parents were both on softball teams, too. And I was in a softball league. Oh, btw, this was 1983, that magical year when Stand Back came out...everything was so sexy that year!

Did you not like hardy boys? Because I didn't like Nancy Drew. Me and my mom were watching South Park this weekend, and it was the one with the gay Hardly Boys, and my mom was all "I tried to read a Nancy Drew once, and it just sucked!"
But I think I read a few Nancy Drews. Not like Hardy Boys were literarily superior, I just think they had more dangerous adventures? Or, uh...climbed more things?
I have no idea...

If I was Zmed, I would have been in rehab, too. He's like the poor man's Travolta, and the ugly man's Baio. So sad. Even though he's not ugly. And hey, I love(d) Grease II, but C'mon!

...or taken seconds after not being cast as Punky Brewster.

Omg, I just saw this.

yeah, bitch stole my job. I coulda been soo Punky. I turned the role down because the writing on the show was so bad.
And why were there so many badly written sitcoms with kids in them in the 80's? I guess everyone suddenly forgot what was funny. And thought kids were cute. Both dangerous mindsets.
There was:
Punky
Small Wonder
Different Strokes
Facts of Life
Webster
Alf (okay, not totally about kids, but still not funny)
Cosby (better than the others, but still not hilarious)

and the one funny one, kinda, pretty funny, the kids were older - and thanks to Michael J. Fox and his comedic timing -
Family Ties

80's T.V. sucked so much balls overall, though.
Sitcoms that were funny in the 80's didn't have kids, or they did, but not cute.
Cheers
Married With Children
Golden Girls
Tracy Ullman
In Living Color
Empty Nest
Soap (was Soap in the early 80's, or 70's?)

My favorite 80's non sitcom shows:
Jake and the Fatman (huge crush on Jake, so hot)
Hart to Hart

Okay, at my parent's I raided the photo albums and got all these great pictures to bring home, scan, then send back.

You have to imagine this series as one of those flip books. you know, a different pic is drawn on each page with a slight change, you flip the pages fast, and it looks like there is action? I resized them, I hope they aren't too big.

Amber - Awesome pics. So many memories. Not so much the being active part (I never could aim, catch or throw - still can't) or the hot dad part (my dad stoppsed being hot before I was born, I'm quite sure.) But those clothes. Ah, yes, satin shorts. I was devestated when I hopped a fence & tore mine. The were royal blue with baby blue piping.:distress: I used to wear them with my hot air balloon shirt....

And you look JUST like your mom. :D

80's TV. Some shows have not stood the test of time. I am still a big fan of Golden Girls, Family Ties, Cheers. I loved One Day at a Time & Gimme a Break. Used to love Cosby Show. Now? Not so much. Always always ALWAYS hated Full House & that little monkey babay. HATED!

Not active?! How weird that you can do the Gold n Braid dance to perfection, whereas I cannot at all. I bet it's like that thing where you think you can't sing, but you kind of can.

Was Too Close for Comfort the one with Ted Baxter? I mean, previous Ted Baxter. Of course One Day at a Time (lets sing the theme song now!) but I thought that was 70's. Guess not.
I just remembered Mr. Belvedere was great, and I don't know if Benson was good, but I watched it.
So, my number one want on DVD picks would be (aside from ABFAB) Bionic Woman, Jake and the Fatman, and Mr. Belvedere. Whatever happened to that smart assed kid, he was so funny!

Anyone remember I Married Dora? Too Close For Comfort?I was such a TV Junkie (read: geek with no social life) when I was younger -- name a sitcom and it's a good bet that I remember it.

I enjoyed 'I Married Dora' -- though I don't think it lasted past a half-season order (9-13 episodes).

'Too Close For Comfort' was really funny. Ted Knight and Audrey Meadows really played off of each other hysterically. And, hey, it gave JM J. Bullock his big break! ;)

But I don't have to catch the tambo for the G&B dance, and I sure as hell don't have to aim it when I toss it. :p Neither does Curtis, as evidenced by Carri'es traumatic head injury.

Yes! Sparkle rainbow hot air balloon shirt!

Yeah, you do. :D

Yup, that's the one. One Day at a Time (This is it, this is it....) started in the late 70's but was def. on in the early 80's (remember Valerie Beritnelli with her feathered hair & Jordache?) I just found out that Facts of Life started in 1979 - when I watched episode 1 on the DVD set I got for Christmas.

Belvedere was good, I remember watching Benson too. Diff'rent Strokes was a big hit in my house. And the Duke of Hazzarrd. :o Don't forget Silver Spoons.

I have one, I use it. Trust, it's not the same. Not the same at all. :distress: Like I said, my head has about 3 hairs on it.

while stopped at a gas station to refuel to move on to the next family member's house, I got bored and took these. they were all spawned from me finding the sign "Pre-Pay" on the pump hysterical...the first pic was my initial reaction and then it just took off from there...

Damn. Flat irons usually do like.. everything. I can't live without my ceramic one.

If you think that's bad, though, try growing out Bettie Page bangs. I had 'em over the summer and it's only now gotten to the length where I can part them. Grr.

Oh, I had those a few years back. Kinda. I'm suprised yours took so long to grow out. I feel like I have to cut my stupid bangs every other week.
I've decided Bettie Page bangs aren't usually incredibly flattering. I mean, I don't know about yours, but in general.

Why thank ya darlin' <3 as I said to Amber, it's taken so long for them to get to this point. Drove me ape to deal with 'em.

Bettie bangs are cute for a while, but if your wardrobe and makeup consists of styles besides 1950's kitsch, then the cuteness kind of wears off. I'll take the choppy look for now :-]

Awww shucks...

Hell, on most days that's all I seem to accomplish here.

Iss true, you do accomplish that a lot. I always want to laugh at what you said, but am trying to decrease my frivolous postage, due to popular demand. I all the time laugh at what you, and SortaSavageLike say, but never post my laughies, largely because it would be almost constant. Here's me, every time, with your posts:

"  "

that would get old, no? Probably not to you, but maybe to others...

I have to say, if I posted my laugh at what everything you guys say, it would get excessive. I guess that is why I didn't start. Wait, are you a Scorpio, too? *random comment*.
Anyway, I always laugh at your posts. And when you say "all that you accomplish", I wonder, because to be clever and make people laugh is the best thing in the world, and nothing to be sneezed at. Even if you have a cold.

I'ts my personal most favorite thing in the world, when someone is clever, and I laugh.
Not everyone will get what you say, or think it is funny, I suppose - but it is, so don't stop. As long as I think it is funny...  ;)

Funny. One of my closest friends looks a LOT like you. Must be an Italian girl thing...:D
Everyone says I look like someone they know. I feel refreshingly not special because of that. Ever since I was little: "Oh, you look like that cute brown eyed girl from that one show!"
or, later: "You totally look familiar, have I met you before?"
"No"
"Oh, okay, but you totally look like my friend..."
Really, the "you look familiar/like someone I know" thing has happened to me disturbingly often, considering. I may be that generic "mexi italian slightly tanned skin with plain brown eyed features" type of girl. I'm pretty sure I am , really.
I was looking at my mom's pics, and suddenly there was this girl in the pic I thought was me, looked just like me from the side.

Turns out, it was one of my mom's Native students. She was weaving a basket (yes, my mom taught native kids basket weaving, don't be jealous), but it really, really looked like me.

I must be pretty generic if even
I think other people are me, and they are not. Pretty cool.

You're not the first to make that stipulation.

I just think it's funny. You having boyfriends that look like me, and I have a "girlfriend" that looks like you. Not generically speaking either, I mean VERY close. I have seen the exact same expression on her face and in one of your pictures. I'd post a pic if I had one.

Pretty pretty girls, you are too.

There is a small story behind this. I was scheduled to take Amtrak to my parent's on 12/24 at 7:42 am. When I got to BART, on that Sunday, I found out that BART didn't open till 8:00 am on Sundays and holidays. So I couldn't go that day. I spent Xmas eve (when our family opens presents) at home with no tasty Xmas snacks.

I couldn't take BART the next day, either, cause it was a holiday (Xmas) and my fricking train still left too early. So. I had to plan a big long bus trip in order to get to a station on time. I lugged all my crap uphill at 5:45 Christmas morning to take a bus to Downtown Oakland, to catch a bus to Oakland Amtrak. There is nothing more awesome than fighting off random bums at 6:20 am in downtown Oakland on Xmas. As I'm sure you all realize, it was dark at that time, sunrise wasn't till 7:25 or so. Anyways, me and my parent laundry (the laundry you take to your parent's, because it is free) lived.

But - it was worth it b/c for once, I was actually out and about and got some cool pollution sunrise pics from the Amtrak station as i was waiting. Yes, I felt a little pure and reborn, I see sunrise that infrequently.

So, here's sunrise, Jack London Squah, Oakland. Fricking gorgeous, if I do say so myself. I have known that much longah than I've known...Respect my authoritah!

Okay, so I get home, and there is this magnificent bird feeder in my parent's yard. My mom made it. Due to it's sparkly glass beauty, I immediately become enthralled, and marvel at the fact that my mom broke and placed all those tiny peices of glass, all in the name of feeding birds (and artistically creating something).
Pictures don't do it justice, it is gorgeous. So beautiful and sparkly! Plus, I saw so many birds eating at it! Cute birds! Luckily, when I said,
"damn, Mom, that must have taken you forevah!" She said "F* ck yeah, it did!"

I like when people don't pretend their art was easy.

Here's the far away shot:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/antisnark/birdfeeder2.jpg

Here's a close up shot of one shape. I seriously can't believe she broke all that glass and made it into shapes. Okay, I can, cause I know her, but this is still extra. This is the glass bird:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/antisnark/birdfeederclose1.jpg

Here's the other side of the bird, the sunface in glass:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/antisnark/birdfeederclose2.jpg

Here is my mom and the sweet dogs (Sadie on the left, Fossie, jazz hands, (Foster) on the right) with the birdfeeder. Refilling time. I love this pic - my mom, her well trained dogs, her art, and her hating pics being taken of her, all in one lovely photo. Plus, of course, birds. My parents are crazy about birds. Their garden is half planned to attract birds.

Here is my parents' front yard, art in evidence:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/antisnark/parentsyard.jpg

Here's my mom and her weird new lap dog. I swear he is like a wussy sweet cat. My mom said "Oh, no, my hair is all weird and my face looks oily!" and I said, "hello, those are like our family motto - weird hair and oily skin- have you met us?! "

Here are some shots of the little town. Literally, these are all the buildings on the main street. Behind these, there are some houses. It is so lovely, the small town.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/antisnark/camino2.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/antisnark/camino1.jpg

Here is a pic of my parents' road that I took while walking a dog. It is a really great road. So great that you are likely to see deer, and perhaps a coyote, and if you are lucky could even be attacked by a mountain lion! But not if you had a trusty dog with you, like I did.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/antisnark/parentsroad.jpg

Here is the Mill that my dad works at, as seen through the trees of my parent's road. Not a great shot, but it is weird that the mill is "right there", mere blocks away.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/antisnark/dadsmillthroughtrees.jpg

Okay, so those weren't the most exciting Xmas pics ever, but they are mine, and some coolness resides. I regret that I am not a better photographer, but not really. "I does what I can, for I am who I am" - Jack McFarland.

Now, now I must go and sing loudly. Probably to Bella Donna. My relatives would be proud, singing loudly in general, and especially around Xmas things, is a family tradition. *sigh* California Italians, so out of place culturally with all the rest of the Italians in East states. We have to pretend to be quiet, PC, non emotional, and not crazy just to fit in here. It is a real struggle. And then we have to pretend that we know what people are talking about when they say "dieting"! It is almlost cruel.

Imagine me going out in my life trying to pretend that I am not good old fashioned Italian crazy. It's like Tom Cruise saying he isn't gay.

you look like you've lost some weight. have you?

still the cutest doctahhh I know.

Actually, the weird thing is that I've gained like 10 pounds over the past 6 months. Really the only way I can tell is that my pants are tight. Usually I can really tell in my face if I've gained, but for some reason, not this time. Oh well, I've still got a few months before my Memorial Weekend river trip to get rid of the extra baggage!

Oh ****. The rarely seen hot medical presumably straight "Brad" is in evidence.

Brad, why do you tease? You are so cute it's hard for us girls to think you are really straight.

But aside from that, if you are straight or not, your cuteness and medical schoolness tortures both sexes.
I had forgotten about you, but now, now, you're killing me!
:distress: :woohoo: :o
You look even way cuter than last year when I saw you! WTF? Oh, I guess you probably lost weight from medical school, so your cheekbones are out, so you are hotter. I see. Stupid cheekbones.

So, when should we make out??

Haha...this cracked me up! Tease? Hardly! Go ahead and blame it on the cheekbones if you must. And once again you're calling on me to prove my straightness...not really sure how to go about doing that, but I think there are ways. :xoxo:

Like I said in the last post, I don't know why the hell I appear thinner now since I've actually gained weight since residency started. Good thing you can't see my waist in those pictures or you'd know for sure! I did make a New Year's resolution to really cut down on fast food, and so far I've been doing good (a whopping week into it). Now if I can just get myself back into my running mode for a few weeks, I might be able to comfortably get back into my jeans.

Later,

Brad

Truth be told, medical school Brad is probably to "good" for me.:distress:

Still trying to figure this one out. "Good" as in "dorky" or "good" as in "never spent time in the pen"? Is it good to be "good" in your opinion, or no?

It's not just Suze.

J/k- nice pictures Brad- you know we all think you're hot. :wavey:

Jannie, you and Suze are always there when I need that extra ego boost! Now if only I could meet girls like you in the real world, I'd be doing more right now than typing on the internet and playing with my dog..who's being a pain in the ass and ignoring me now!
