Fine, be that way! Not a major storm, just some flurries. Come on, guys!
I hate to say this, but I am singing "Be Bop A-Lula" right now, since I am so cool.
I hate to say this, but we both know you're going to get your wish on Saturday. Fricken snow is going to ruin the St. Patty's Day parade experience. :(

our marriage has been dead for awhile (We had previously planned to separate in 2003 - but she became ill with cancer so we decided to wait until her health improved), so we have decided to separate once we get moved away from this place we live in. We dont hate each other, we are just not in love with one another as husband and wife is all. She needs a man who can be her true love, that is not me and vice versa - Deb is supportive of my involvement with Christy, she believes Christy & I were always 'soul mates'.
I've known Christy (aka 'nickay') for 19 years, we were at one time engaged and had a deep meaningful relationship that ended because of 'outside interferences'. She was the one woman I always knew I would see again and fall in love with again once she realized that I had unconditionally loved her and never asked for more from her except for her love (Those 'outside interferences' are to blame for her doubt, and once she realized they had lied to her I was gone out of her life to not return until recently) - it was just a matter of time before that would happen...And it has.

The recent (crazy) goings-on at Seven Wonders, which is another Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac discussion board. The head Moderator went nuts and banned everybody in site because they formed a totally independent discussion board and were talking about him and what a child he is behind his back there. He got wind of it and kinda went a little over the top, banning anything that moved. Then new people joined and broke certain minor rules without knowing them - and he banned them too. A lot of people finally got fed up with the way he runs things, and left. Not sure how many total, but I think it might be around a hundred.
Guess where they went to!? :]
(And no, I wasn't banned - but I'm not posting anywhere near as much there anymore.)
P.S. - just to try to clarify, the Head Moderator there calls himself "The Wizard."

You told ME so? Told me what?
I had felt that there were "warning signs" over on Seven Wonders as of several months ago.
Just for example - although it's admittedly a very minor thing - the "smiley-faces" were changed from really great ones to dull, grey, uninteresting ones. Sure, fine, great, whatever, no problem. But he did it without comment, and when SEVERAL people asked him why, he totally blew them off. Granted he may have been busy with real life or something but it was beginning to look like a part of a pattern. The general attitude since January or so has been "You don't get to ask questions. F.U. This is MY board and I make the rules."
He even banned one of his own moderators, for crying out loud. And she was one of the really cool ones, and best of my knowledge was always respectful to everyone.

Over on Seven Wonders we tend to just simply hit "quote" in order to add to lists like this; and the person knows to not take it as being personally directed at them.
So I apologize if that's not the "style" around here.

Not all of us were on Seven Wonders, so you're newbies to us, and it's really not cool to "suggest" what we should and should not do, especially since you're not fammiliar to us. The way we do things 'round here is perfectly fine. We may not be all sunshine and lollipops and rainbows, but the way we do things works for us, and we ain't about to change. What some folks aren't realizing is, hey, if you don't like this place, you don't have to ****ing be here. You can leave - no one's stopping you.

But we also tend to try to be nice to people.
It's a game. Please lighten up, hmm? :sorry:  :(
Uh yeah, as Carrie said. There is no reason to quote. If you post a response, it will be "added to the list".

Ya know, I don't hate to say it, but every day that I don't have to go to work has beer day potential (of course, that depends on what I have to do the rest of the day). I hate to say this, but I'm not that picky about beer. I tend to like lagers and hefeweizen as well, though. My favorites are apricot ale, and pumpkin beer (seasonal). I don't get those often, though. I like Sierra Nevada - except the Pale Ale. Gotta support the Chico brewery. I enjoy Pacifico quite a bit, especially in summer with mexican food. Tostitos beer is good for cheap mexi.... (Tecate). In reality, though, I usually drink cheap beer like Natural Ice. Because it is cheap, like you say that makes it taste better. Oh, and I love Pabst in the cheap category as well. I stay away from Miller because, I swear, it has some kind of hallucinogenic chemical in it or something....
My favorite treat really is whiskey and coke, diet pepsi to be exact. mmmm, icy goodness....

I was listening to some good ol' PB this evening on my way home, actually. You should have heard me belting out Heartbreaker; I am a REALLY BAD singer.
i saw her for work the other night. wasn't really not looking forward to it but wasn't super stoked either. sometimes it's a bit of a disappointment to hear your favorites of yesterday try and sing their classics. but then i remembered i wasn't at a la nicks concert circa street angel and had some renewed faith. girlfriend has a SET OF PIPES LIKE WOAH. vocally, pb was my favorite concert of the year. not to mention, she and neil were pretty funny.

indeed she is. i've said it before and i'll say it again, it's so refreshing to hear people who are actually trained versus the pop princesses -- i think that's why i liked charlotte church's pop-stint as much as i did. it makes such a difference to have that as a foundation first. i'm guessing pb still has a vocal coach she utilizes or that out.of.control range would have died long ago.
Sarah

of course you would like charlotte church's pop stint, goober. you would get along well with my granny; she likes to watch her on pbs.
i'm just teasing you. i know what you mean... there's definitely not a surplus of pop stars who are actually good singers, huh? i'm tellin' you, though, we can make you into one!

i'd like to say i never took to watching her on pbs but that would be a lie. i watched. the night her enchantment special premiered, in fact. however, i enjoy charlotte church sans "good girl" image.
oh god. right now, they're trying to get me to try out for american idol and air it on the morning show at work. i'd rather jump into a steaming pile of poo then sit outside for five zillion hours with a bunch of people who may or may not be able to sing.

i don't think i've ever actually seen poo steam. i expect a you tube video documenting said steam and said sitting.
i can only imagine how irritating it would be to sit and wait for those auditions. it'd be like chorus nerd hell... and you know they'd all be talking and geeking out on terminology and vocal exercises with each other. barf-o-rama.

i'm sure it's possible given the right temperature and additional external factors. i hope i won't have to let you know.
you know, and even though it's been relatively cool here for the past twenty-four hours, come the 29th, i'm sure the temperature will rise faster than britney spears dress in a room full of men and i'd die. add that to aforementioned annoying chorus nerd types and you have one very unhappy marissa. i'd want lots of cash for my troubles.

send some of that cool this way. we're totally stuck in a heat wave. the humidity is oppressive.
it's been 95 - 100 degrees every day for the last like, 10 - 12 days.. heat index 100 - 105. couple that with the fact that we're in a severe drought as well... my yard is crunchy, and getting in the car for the first time every day is hell.
if you auditioned, what would you sing?

i hate to say this, but.. despite the fact that i'm overpaid for the "work" i'm doing tonight, i really don't want to be here.
i could not get sleepy at all last night... it was 2:30 AM before i finally forced myself to try to sleep. not good, considering i had to work at 4:30 AM today. so that leaves me 2 hours... and of course, i kept waking up every 15 minutes or so.
and family was in town today, so i didn't get the chance to take a nap. so nowww, as of 6 PM eastern time, i'm back at work until about 1 AM. nevermind the fact that i don't really have to do anything but press a button every now and then and make sure we stay on-air (we have a sports broadcast, borrrinnggg)... i just don't want to be here. siiiiigh.
why can't they just pay me by the hour to be fabulous in the comfort of my own home?

My.God. No Sleep? Family? Leaving your house? No nap? It's my waking nightmare. You should really apply for gov't assistance, the problems you got here.
Oh, wait, you still work in radio. Taking that into account, you might not get gov't assistance unless you have some babies real quick. But my god, family with no nap, plus work? It's like the devil himself has become your personal assistant. And that just isn't fair.

i don't really know what i'd call a perfect meal, to be honest. it depends on my mood. i like pasta, noodles, rice, and breads, of course... and vegetables.. white-meat chicken and turkey, but not on the bone.
i guess thanksgiving or christmas would probably be my favorite meals.. turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, peas, corn or hominy, rolls or cornbread, macaroni and cheese, etc. i really don't like things that have been processed to high hell, and i don't like mixes of things.. like a casserole that has a whole bunch of stuff mashed together.

I hate to say this, but Michelle almost killed this thread. :distress:
I hate to say this, but you didn't exactly give it a rarin' jump start with this post.
Nowthen: I hate to say this, but I think "American Dad" is fifty times more clever and funny and smart then "Family Guy".
Family Guy is pretty funny. But it's mostly references to other media, combined with really lowbrow physical and mental humor.
Whereas, American Dad has actual political and social points, not to mention the cleverness is more clever.
References to other media is good, and can be funny, but it can't take the place of new, better thoughts about actual things that are happening, with political and social points combined with the super cleverness and all, plus some media references. The blend of both things that is inherent in American Dad just strikes me as head and funnier above family guy.
I even find Family Guy much less clever than Simpsons. Although family guy wins hands down in the "references to other media" category. And by "wins", I mean "has the most", because other shows do it more cleverly if not as prolifically and exactly. And by "other shows", I mean South Park and Simpsons.
Family Guy wins pretty good on gross and groan dirty jokes. And I mean that in a good way. Don't get me wrong, I like Family Guy, too. In fact, I'm watching it now, as it took the place of my magical hour of Simpsons then South Park from 10:00-11:00 that I treasured so much. Now I have to wait until one a.m. if I want to see South Park.
I thought I'd be totally stoked and riveted, as I have never seen all the Family Guys, and love it on Sundays - but I have not been riveted, and have been doing other things during it. Kinda sad, for me. In a productive way. Still, I am surprised it doesn't hold my attention. And thus the crux of my point. As Stewie would say.
I would say, if I compared, that American Dad is the highbrow and more innovative, clever cousin of Family Guy, and it is also more abstractly, randomly goofy. With minimal yet hilarious media references. And it makes me laugh way, way, way more. Naturally, everyone I say this to doesn't agree. You gotta branch out. You will be justly rewarded with hilarity if you do. Unless you...uh...nevermind.
And of course it goes without saying that South Park is the best.
Sarah

I hate to say this, but, I don't like American Dad. It just gets on my nerves. I couldn't really say why... maybe it's just because I liked Family Guy first and it feels like a rip off.
I like the stupidity of Family Guy. And all the little tiny segments that just get tossed in, seemingly out of nowhere.
I really, really like Aqua Teen Hunger Force... but I don't try to make other people like it. It's just naturally hilarious to me.

A lot of people say Family Guy rips off a lot of stuff the Simpsons did... but I've probably only seen 3 episodes of the Simpsons in the entire time it's been on, so the jokes are newish to me. I've seen American Dad a couple of times... it just had no appeal.
I really don't watch tv very much, but my partner has the Family Guy DVDs and I find them to be entertaining. I think a large part of its appeal to me is the voice acting... they're just incredibly funny.
(I do a great Herbert impression, with the whistle between the teeth and all. I have a present for you in my pocket, why don't you reach down there and get it.)

I hate to say this, but I saw Joan Rivers on Home Shopping the other day, & her head looks like a ceramic fruit.
I think she's using Michael Jackson's plastic surgeon.

I dont hate to say this, you've got a point there David!
as for this:
Family Guy wins pretty good on gross and groan dirty jokes
I didnt know there WAS such a thing as a "groan" joke, but I guess, now that I think about it, it makes sense. and so simple too! Thanks Amber

I hate to say this, but colognes and perfumes stink. I can not stand the big stench that people soak to their skin. Nothing worse than being in an elevator with a foul stench masked as a high end smell. Or worse, getting into an empty elevator that still reeks from someone. Yuck. Not to mention walking and enjoying the fresh air and someone kills my senses with their perfumed stench.
The worst are clubs. Everyone thinks their **** doesn't smell. Oh gawd, the combination of all those perfumes and colognes in the air is absolutely repugnant.
And lastly, if I have to endure another lame Gwen Stefani perfume commercial, I will "no doubt" puke and then write the FCC.

I hate to say this, but colognes and perfumes stink. I am with you on this one. I was out grocery shopping yesterday and walked past a woman with that "old lady" smell...thing is I could still smell her five aisles over. ugh.

Exactly. I don't watch Family Guy for its witty political commentary, I watch it because it's silly. "Wow, look at that big ass pinata!" In floats a huge pinata in the shape of an ass. :p
I love the Simpsons & South Park, but American Dad bores me to tears. Not sure why.

Okay, when you trip, you have forward momentum..you don't stop dead, you move forward clumsily for a second and then take three to four steps quickly, that's "jogging it out"...you gracefully come out of it instead of falling on your ass:D . To save face in public after tripping you look back as if something tripped you and it wasn't your fault to avoid the embarrassment of looking like a dork. Am I the only one who's "jogged it out" in public after tripping on something (invisible or not)??? I think I should hold a class on "jogging it out".
