I bet that you are all glad that I am done. I guess that my next chance to take any photos will be at one of Lindsey's upcoming shows this fall. Ha, just wanted to see if you were paying attention!

How sweet! These are nice, Pattie. I think they turned out better than your Fleetwood Mac photos. What is up with Stevie's one black Micheal Jackson glove, though?

She probably sliced open her hand banging away on that tambo, during her backup stint.

And yes... Really great shots Pattie... You were a busy girl!

Thanks. I got a new camera. I just got it a few weeks ago and I really have not used it much. I took it to the park a few weeks ago and I was not that happy with the way the photos came out but it seems to do a great job for the concert photos so I guess that I am keeping it. I don't have a choice anyway. I just wish that I could fix the areas where her face is overexposed.

My dream is to find the perfect small camera that takes excellent concert photos even from 10 rows back. This comes close but I still would rather have something smaller.

As for that glove I have no idea.

If you have Photoshop, playing with the "curves" feature might help a bit. Sometimes if the lighting just sucks there's not much you can do to improve it though. I think they turned out well regardless, and you got some nice ones where her face is clear too.

Yeah, I don't think any consumer digital point-and-shoot type model will ever be perfect, especially in a concert setting and from a distance of 10 rows or more. But until they start letting us take SLR's in... I think you found a pretty good one!

I have Photoshop Elements and I don't think that I have a "curves" option. I tried a few things but she ended up looking ill so I reversed them.

I was surprised how lenient security was with cameras. I saw one guy pull out a 12x optical Kodak camera and he asked if that was OK. Security said that it was fine so I whipped mine out ASAP. The only think that was not allowed was video and I did not even try it.

Kodak now has a small 10X optical 6 megapixal camera. I have not read any reviews for it yet. It is about $450.00. I do plan on getting a digital SLR by the end of the year.

Me too Pattie and I can't wait! :blob1: Especially after my trip to Africa and seeing the very big difference between my digital pics and the film pics from my SLR.

What kind of camera did you end up getting??? I've been eyeing a new panasonic one with a 10X zoom that is pretty small compared to others....... it got decent reviews but not perfect........ I'm on the neverending quest for the perfect camera!! ha ha One week I'll be looking at one and then the next week I'll be looking at something totally different......... I haven't broke down and gotten a new one yet. It seems like they are continuously coming out with new and better all of the time though........

I got the Panasonic DMC-TZ1 and you are right it is small for a 10x optical zoom. I was not too pleased with the photos that I took at the park a few weeks ago but then again I did not know how to use it. I was very satisfied with the concert photos that I got, however. This was only my second time using the camera. I am sure that if I practiced that I would get some better shots. The one big draw back about this camera is that it does not have any viewfinder just an LCD screen. If you are out shooting on a sunny day good luck trying to see the image. Kodak now has a 10x optical zoom camera that seems to be small. I have not seen it in person and I have not read any reviews yet but it sounds promising.

Oh my gosh--YES--that is the camera I was looking at!! I did read in the review that it did not have a viewfinder--that was one thing that kept me from totally wanting to buy it since it would be harder to sneak pix at a concert--and with the way security is around here you need to be very sneaky unfortunately  Did you use a flash for your photos?? They look to be very well lit....... I think they turned out pretty darn good and it is making me want the camera even more now........ hmmm..... maybe the next model will have the viewfinder......... I have not read up on the Kodak one....... maybe I should take a look at that one also...... I figure these are pretty new though so they will probably be coming out with more small 10X zoom cameras.......... since Stevie is not going to be here any time soon that I know of I guess I have time to do some more investigating before I decide on something.......... :D Did you use any special settings for your pix or were they just all taken in auto mode??? I am just curious since I am looking at this camera.... you can PM me if you do not want to get into detail here

You know what? Security did not have any problem with cameras at all in Mansfield which is a surprise. I would wait to get a camera if you just plan on Stevie use. I wanted to have one just incase Lindsey was planning a solo tour this year.
I used flash on some of them but the flash took too long to recharge because my battery was dying. So most of the last photos I took without any flash. I used the 800 ISO setting too which helped but to be honest some of the prints do look a bit grainy.
Anyway, I agree. I think that we will see smaller cameras with bigger zoom in the next year or two. Too bad that there was not a special review section on how the cameras take concert photos.

Too funny----yes----can you tell me how this camera will perform in a concert setting please??? I think they should add a special "concert" mode like they have for fireworks, pets, nightscene, etc. You know--I thought it mentioned in the review about the battery life being kind of low....... but I've read so many reviews lately that I could be wrong about that. Since security didn't have a problem with cameras I think I would have tried the "auto" mode and just let the camera do it's thing--but whatever you did your photos turned out very nice!!! Thanks again for sharing :blob1: You've definitely got my interest peaked about this camera now........ although like you said--I think I am going to wait a bit and see what else they come up with because I think they will have some different models coming out--they always do!! Once you get a camera it seems like it is out dated like in a week!! OH--did you use that image stabilization?? I keep reading about that and wondered if you thought it worked for you??? That seems to be the new "thing" in cameras--don't dare get one without it!! ha ha
