See? Geez, we're arguing over someone's spelling, because, god forbid somebody critisize something that trivial!

Actually it's "criticize" ;)

Careful Vicky, you'll get a lecture from Brian, via PM.

Nicey nicey, mamby pamby.........that's the world we wanna live in.:distress: ;) :p
Well, not me. But I guess they do.....

Or you'll just get one from Amber, right out in the open. (You will that is. I won't. Apparently she has me on ignore, which is just fine by me.) Because, as we should all know by now, she's a saint who never says anything offensive. Ever.

Yeah right.

Homie - You're not a sixteen year old girl who is losing her house, who's mom is an alcoholic, and who was the target of a premeditated mean spirited thread for no reason on another board. Or are you?
Anyway -

Hey, I just woke up, at the crack of 1PM!:p
My point, in my first post was: we ARE responsible for our own posts. Taking charge, and responsibility for, our own actions, is integral to keeping some of the terrible things mentioned above, from happening in all our lives. You ARE responsible. No one else is responsible for your actions. It's all you.
A lesson to be learned? Maybe. Maybe not.....

Let's let it go.

My family is known for taking in the special needs cats. Mine too. I once 'found' a cat which I named Jasper. I was in a parked car, awaiting a friend, and I heard a small meow. I looked outside and a small black beauty looked up at me. He was only a few weeks, had not received proper care from his mom, and one eye was sealed closed. He was my little miracle for quite some time and then I gave him to someone who has cared for him very well ever since. I love that fluffy little cat.

Preliminary list, in no special order.

To be continued....:wavey:

And here we go!

Gypsysorcerer (Krista) - Classy lady. Circumspect, subtle, but funny. Could we really be the same sign? Never says more or less than necessary. Okay, I want her to say more, but you know. Smart, has good taste. I dunno, I just like her. She's regular, but funny, but cool, but pretty. I could probably talk to her about most things and she would get it. She's pleasant, but totally gets the subversive undercurrent of life.

Takie(Takenbythesky, Justin) - First of all, his screen name is brill. Wish I'd thought of it. But that is just it. Justin is an original and insightful thinker, but also very, very kind. He's a great writer, he knows a lot about music for his age (and mine). He faces adversity every day, and still manages to remain kind, and optimistic. Also, though mild mannered (hehehe, aren't all superheros?) I consider him brave. He joined a gay acceptance club in his catholic school, and if that isn't a Stand, I don't know what is. Again, though mild mannered, I feel like he is chock full of integrity and purpose, like he may be nice and accomodating, but that absolutely will not stop him from being who he is, standing up for what he thinks is right, and behaving in a way that is an example for what he believes.
He also sent me a birthday card last year. I think I cried a bit. Just a really intelligent person with a lot going for him - I predict great things, especially now that he has discovered the magic of exercise! Muah times a mill to Takie.

Ryan (am I doing the Cancers? Appears so.) - A really good spirited kid. And the only one of you gay mofos that I can talk baseball/softball with!
He's funny, he's cute, but I really can't stress enough what a pleasure his happy go lucky, accepting vibe is. He could be friends with anyone and everyone, opposites though those people may be. I like his taste in music, too - I like the way he says he listens to it...flouncing around his room, twirling, dancing, stomping his head a bit to Talking Heads...just a nice clean spirit. I mean, he readily admitted to shawling and Stand Back twirling, if my memory serves me right. I love people who aren't too cool to admit that, especially a boy at his age. And man, that bird and that tie were hilarious. He's a goofer, and that is my favorite kind of person.
Also, prime jailbait. Not for me, but for some lucky guy.

Strand- This is actually a great entry, because I don't even know if Strand likes me or not, but it doesn't matter b/c I still have positive things to say about him in this very positive thread he started.
Okay - I thought classic southern gentleman was a myth, or something I only read in books from long past. But actually, Strand is That Man. Whether he meant it or not, and he says it was the alcohol ( ) he was so complimentary and charming to me when I met him. I must admit I was duly impressed. And, if you can believe it, he was about 10 times funnier in real life then he is here. And he's funny here. He made me feel welcome, and liked, he bought me drinks and cigs and snacks, he showed me his great outfits (I like the burgundy shirt on him). But don't get the impression that he came off super slick, because he just came off as a real nice person, and emotionally forthcoming. His eyes are very honest. He sang on the escalator, he cried for BATB, he tried to tell piano girl what to do, he showed me his naked model pics... I really can't imagine anyone more personable, whether he likes me or not. Oh, right, and he's super smart and insightful about Stevie, too. I'm dying to do a duet with him. Gold? Whenever I Call You Friend? :p
The main point is, however he felt, he made me feel like an old friend. Quite a gift. I'm not even sure I make my old friends feel like old friends. And his sense of public decorum very, very closely matched my own. Rich man, poor girl - both would wail on Stand Back in the middle of a public place, and not think twice of it. Beauty.
Which brings up an interesting point - he's rich, so he doesn't care what people think, I've always been poor, and am, so I've nothing to lose and so don't care anyways (never have, really)....Ah, an unexpected meeting of the classes. Love it.
Mmmm, philosophical...

Red/Rachel - She would probably be my total friend in real life. She just gets it, and she's hilarious. Also, tied with Strand for best Mom stories. I'm sure she has other fine qualities (wait! She designs jewelry, my dream job!) but her sense of humor tells me all I need to know. She knows when stuff is hella lame, she knows when stuff is hella cool, and will make the appropriate joke for the occasion. I've also heard tale of some Stevie concerts she and her friends have put on for the neighbors...inadvertantly....and that is my raison d' etre as well. No, wait - I just belt it around my apartment like she does, and audience be damned. It's very natural. She also totally gets the "too pussy to date" boy vibe. Sesly, she almost had me convinced to move to Canada....and you know I hate cold....She's like my twin, but different...

There's more....To be continued.

My dear - I adore you - never lose sight of that.

We just get cranky sometimes - like Venus gets jealous of Neptune when both are bright - oooooo that imagery!

And - thank you for the vivid commentary on moi and our escapades in Vegas!!!!!! That easily was one of the happier nights of my life. I loved both the bar at Caesar's and the public hanging - and then we three in my and Goldie's room just hanging - and then ordering literally one of everything on the room service menu  Your doggie bags (and I stress the plural) could not be counted on one hand

Now - for and about you - you are a formidable intellect in a swell package. I enjoy debating with you. Granted, I seem to live on another planet from reality

I really do think you should move to Canada...Calgary in particular is pretty moderate in temperature, so much so that I could count on one hand the really freakin' cold snowy days we had. Its now so hot in my place, I have fans going and I'm eating dinner on my balcony. Plus think of all the benefits!! Twirl-a-thons!! Off key singing!! Constant South Park references!! Whiskey!!!! Buy your plane ticket now Amber!!! NOW!!!!

Seriously (sesly), aside from adding Amberisms to my personal lexicon, not even counting the obscure pop culture references, and on top of the mad hot humour, you are one of the coolest people I know. Mega. You've always got a place to stay if you ever feel inclined to bestow the great white North with your rapier wit and divine booty.:wavey:

That's sweet, thank you :xoxo:. Oyenge - yay! To be honest I wasn't sure if you still had her. It sounded like she was really sick, but I'm glad to hear she's doing good! (*Grammar Police: I know it should be "doing well," but that's not what I felt like saying.)

Amber - You have an energetic personality, which is good 'cause it keeps things interesting and balances out super chill people like me. Your irreverent references to everything crack me up sometimes, and you have a terrific sense of justice and sustainability.

Serrart/Romy - There's a kind of poetic simplicity to the way you write... maybe it's partly because English isn't your first language (although your command of it is great), so you're more attentive to making the words you choose count, and communicating without ever saying any more or less than you need to. I love reading your insights about films and albums, and you always seem to add something positive and stay above the fray.

You guys crack me up! I am bumping this thread to say that I keep coming back to the Ledge because there are many of you here who are witty, and I can't stop reading to see what you will say. Sure, I like the downloads, and the little details, and the raving and bitching, but mostly I look for the banter in this smart and clever group. You (as a group) are largely kindhearted, but with a touch of evil, and that makes me smile.

Are Otters rodents?

I don't know. They use their hands and rocks to smash shells. And they squeak. That's all they need to be. :p

Are Otters rodents?

No.

They're Mustelids. Which include weasels, ferrets, porcupines, badgers, wolverines & otters.

From Wikipedia:

Mustelidae is one of the most species-rich families in order Carnivora, as well as one of the older ones. Mustelid-like forms have existed for the past 40 million years and roughly coincided with the appearance of rodents.

Otters are of the mustelid subfamily of Lutrinae.

Oh I figured he meant in general. My ego isnt big enough to think he would mention me without including my name.

I know, David, I was just kidding/being evil!

Here's another touch - ragandbone is Eliza, tardobutt, and therefore a girl.

Dammit, I was so busy teasing David that I didn't even pay attention to who posted the original comment. Sorry Eliza! :wavey:

No sweat. I was just engaging in a little self deprecation there. After all, there's nothing wrong with poking fun at ones self.

Awwr. Amber!! I love you tooooo. :xoxo:

Lately though, I've cut down on my in-room antics, as I was frequently getting walked in on, like halfway thru Edge of Seventeen.

I'd also like to add one other thing for Jimmy: You are adorable, and very, very inquisitive, if I do say so myself. I love youuuuuuu! lol. :wavey:
