I hate winter. I was so damned bored today, that I went walking around Lowes. The third time the plumbing guy asked me if I was sure I didn't need help, I asked him if he'd ever been so bored, that he spent a couple of hours, walking around a home improvement place, just for something to do?

Winter blows goats!

I'm not sure I know what you are referring to. We've not had a winter in Texas yet. My frickin' allergies are going nuts. It's like 77 degrees one day, 60 the next, then up to 80, down a bit to 75 then dropping to like 58, etc, etc, etc.

HATE!

THAT'S why he's the coolest rocker ever. He's done more drugs, gotten away with more things most of us would have been shot over, and has lived to tell! Many a great (Gram Parsons) have died trying to be like Keith. Although, I did have to chuckle when Keith said he couldn't imagine working with somebody as effeminate as Robert Plant. Uh, Keith...

http://www.pbs.org/previews/masterpiece_bleakhouse/

Charles Dickens' complex tale of young love, murder and the quest for a mystery-man's identity unfolds in a sumptuous new six-part adaptation by celebrated screenwriter Andrew Davies. MASTERPIECE THEATRE's "Bleak House," starring Gillian Anderson ("The X-Files"), Charles Dance ("The Jewel in the Crown") and other masters of Dickensian disguise, airs on PBS Sundays, January 22-February 26, 2006, 9:00 p.m. ET.

An epic feast of characters and storylines, "Bleak House" features some of the most famous plot twists in literary history, including a case of human spontaneous combustion and an infamous inheritance dispute that is tied up for generations in the dysfunctional English courts, while lawyers consume the assets of the estate.

At its heart, "Bleak House" is the story of the icily beautiful Lady Dedlock (Anderson), who nurses a dark secret, and the merciless lawyer Mr. Tulkinghorn (Dance), who seeks to uncover it.

The cast of supporting characters contains some of Dickens' most famous creations: Smallwood, the evil moneylender; Krook, the cool police inspector at the center of fiction's first-ever whodunit; and Little Jo, the young crossing sweeper, whose tragic death almost brought Victorian England to a standstill.

For Davies - generally regarded as the master of literary adaptations, including Anthony Trollope's The Way We Live Now and Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice - taking on Dickens was a mixed blessing: "Dickens gives you such strong lines of dialogue and there are all these wonderful, grotesque characters you can really run with," says Davies. "But plot-wise it's a nightmare."

Anderson is supposed to be phenomenal in it.

AD is the ****. You won't be disappointed. And it's rewatchability factor is insanely high. I must have watched each episode ten times over.

Seriously. I have every episode from this season still saved on my Tivo AND saved on my computer and we are rewatching them CONSTANTLY. We watched Making a Stand three times in a row the other night. I've just converted my boyfriend, and it takes us an hour to watch a 20-minute episode because of how many times we have to rewind to listen to the same joke over and over again, or to catch stuff we've missed.

He'll bust out random quotes now. It gets me hot. Lately it's been "I was never on Card Sharks, Michael."

The one scene that I can't even think about without snorting is in The Immaculate Election. Michael bursts in on George Michael & Ann and they start talking about his run for class president. I lose it when he starts rambling about how they wanted a recount. "Let's...don't" and then he does that gesture with his hand. Oh my, Bateman is brilliant.

Thanks for posting those, Diss. I'd seen Law and Order air guitar but missed him last week on Conan. He's so awesome. I have such a girl boner for him.

Supposedly the only problem now in signing these deals with either Showtime or ABC is salary negotiations for the cast- they have to take big pay cuts. I'm worried about that. I can foresee Will not returning, which is... upsetting. But he's got such a big movie career coming now. He's going to be the new Will Ferrell.

Supposedly the only problem now in signing these deals with either Showtime or ABC is salary negotiations for the cast- they have to take big pay cuts. I'm worried about that.

I read last night that there's also a problem with Hurwitz being hesitant about going forward with the show, but that Showtime has confirmed that they're pursuing it. (http://www.moviehole.net/news/20060120_new_development_over_at_showti.html) If they have to take huge pay cuts, I doubt it will return.

I can foresee Will not returning, which is... upsetting. But he's got such a big movie career coming now. He's going to be the new Will Ferrell.

He should be since he kicks ****ing ass. And he's actually funny. Lay-out-the-rubber-sheets kind of funny. I saw that he's signed up to do a movie with Ferrell and his awesome wife Amy/Blamey about ice skating. I'm also desperately awaiting the remake of "The Heartbreak Kid" with Bateman and Amy/Blamey if it ever actually happens.
