5. When do you put your decorations up? I should wait longer, but usually sometime in early December


6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? I don't know. I'm not really much into food on Christmas like I am for Thanksgiving.



7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? Waking up really early and making my little brother go wake my parents up. "Santa" used to call us every Christmas morning to see if we liked our presents.

10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him? Well, he doesn't anymore at our house, but it used to be chocolate chip cookies and a carrot for Rudolph when my step-son was little.

5. When do you put your decorations up? it has been a tradition since i was little to do it the day after thanksgiving, so i continue it w/ my family~

Favorite holiday memory as a child? when i was real little we lived w/ my grandparents for 2 yrs while my dad was in vietnam & my grandpa would do the "santa" thing~ santa would request jalapeno peppers & a beer instead of cookies & milk, then he would write me a "thank you" note on a matchbook cover...i freakin' swear, that would be so un "pc" these days~ aaahhhhh the 70's:eek: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: ~



8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I was the 1st child & grandchild, so i think i was around 8 before i truely realized, my son is 6 & still believes~



9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? just 1 small gift~



10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him? we leave chocolate chip, chocolate milk & a carrot for rudolph, a real pretty one w/ the long green top, then the hubby is gagging it down later trying to make it look nibbled on:laugh: ~

14. What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you? family first, but i love to do things for kids, since i run a daycare, we try to, the kids, me & w/ the help of their folks try to raise a little cash to adopt a underpriviledge little someone to get gifts for~ & feasting of course~

My mom and I were grocery shopping. She opened the trunk and I saw my Easy Bake Oven! Obviously, not gift-wrapped, and she had forgotten it was in there. I started screaming and jumping up and down, I was so happy.

My favorite gift was given to me twice and I still have it. About four years ago a friend of mine gave me two kittens (after being told I didn't want any more cats) in late November. My dad threw a fit and told me that I had 30 days to get rid of them or he was taking them to the pound. A month later (Christmas day) I still had one. We had already opened the presents and I was in my room listening to a new cd or something and my dad comes knocking on my door and says "Merry Christmas, the kitten is yours."
I wasn't happy about it at the time, since I truly didn't want another cat and wasn't fond of this particular kitten, but I adore him now.

That it is a driving force that helps my friends and I to actually make an effort to get together all at once.

Cookies. But we ate them already.

We don't really have any traditions anymore. We used to watch all the Die Hard movies on Christmas when I was growing up though. Don't ask why.
These days I usually have a Blackadder marathon instead.

Nothing. Damn tree is 9 feet tall and there's no space between the top of the tree and the ceiling for anything.

As a child, it was this complete Wizard of Oz set with barbie-doll-ish figures of all the main characters. It came with the Emerald City that you could open up and it became the wicked witch's castle. It was awesome. As an adult, my boyfriend gave me 3 huge wrought iron crosses on our first Christmas together and they hang in my entry hall. They're gorgeous.

I decorated on Thanksgiving Day this year. Have never done that before, but wanted to try it out. It's not something I'll continue to do, as I couldn't really watch the Cowboys game and I got frustrated. LOL Normally, I decorated about 2-3 weeks beforehand.

My grandmother's mashed potatoes, because they aren't flakes! I always have a huge blob of them on my plate.
