Don't be so sure she will be playing on The Plaza..weather permitting..her comfort zones may want to be inside the Studio..safe & sound.

You never know.. there's a very good possibility she'll play outside... she played with FM outside wearing her winter coat and scarf, so i'm sure she can play in 75 degree weather as well

I don't think it was THAT "freezing cold" when The Mac was playing outdoors in the spring to promote SYW. It may have been a bit chilly, but not "freezing." I think the acoustics on these outdoor "Today Show" performances utterly suck. I thought the SYW selections sounded like crap. I hope they get Stevie properly miked up and fuel her with some throat soothing potions so she doesn't sound like Harvey Fierstein. Again.

And 38 degrees, according to my very basic meteorology, is not "freezing." :p Stevie may have found it "freezing" though. I am sure a battery operated vibrating cotton batting-upholstered corset and a pair of rather large, fur-lined Granny panties were involved that morning. ;)

I was there. It was FREEZING.
If I remember correctly, the whole week was almost unseasonably warm and that morning, the temperature dipped like 40 or 50 degrees overnight and was definitely in the 30s.
We were packed together really closely but, even so, if the concert had lasted five minutes more, I was going to mug the man next to me for his wool coat (my "change of seasons" quilted jacket was just not cutting it and it's very windy on the Plaza).
The performance itself was great live (IMO). It lost a little in the translation but I was so thrilled to see them doing new stuff--outdoors--live--for the very first time, I didn't care.
Alas, there is no way I can take off from work on Wednesday. If it had been one week later, I would be fine.
Timing is everything.

Eek, I remember it was freezing all over the northeast that morning. And they're California people, too.

Stevie doesn't have much room for complaint, though, she was snuggly wrapped in either a dead animal or an uber-expensive synthetic concotion. Lindsey, being the dolt that he is, wore a t-shirt and a freaking leather jacket. He deserved to get frostbite based on his stupidity alone.

No, u said "a bit chilly", which would imply temperatures slightly below normal.. normal being about 72 degrees, slightly lower than that ... not 38 degrees and windy...

and if u lived in New York City for 18 years, then you know how cold it can be in April, and yes, even in May, dear... :xoxo:

And it's not possible that someone simply doesn't get "cold" as others get "cold"? Or must I shake and quiver when the temp dips below 40 degrees? Let's move on, shall we? I can't debate with someone who spells "you" with one letter. I refuse. It's bad for my health and constitution. I shall get apoplexy and surely begin foaming at the mouth and desiring to eat large quantities of canned pork. :p

Don't forget that the Stevester lives in Phoenix, where it's often

116 degrees during the summer. Lows of 92 during the night!

So while we're watching her shiver in 40 degrees and wondering why,

awww, i'm sorry.. am i somehow beneath u because i sometimes spell "you" with 1 letter?? frankly dear, it's not that uncommon in an online forum.. nor are typos.. get a better attack plan.. :wavey:

and u are mistaken when u say that it wasn't freezing when FM (or should i spell out F-l-e-e-t-w-o-o-d M-a-c for u?) performed on the Today Show in April of 2003.. if u do not consider 38 degrees and windy to be freezing or at least "very cold", then u must be some kind of anomaly.. regardless, the common human being would consider a windy 38 degrees in April a little more than "a bit chilly"

The outdoor concert series is over, I think. The Today Show has artists perform inside ALL the time. I seriously doubt she is doing an entire concert. I predict it is a performance of HAEWAFY for Hurricane Relief. She has nothing to promote, that we know of.....so, yea...it will be something to help raise money for Katrina..IMHO.

BTW..I made the trek for FM and it was damn cold. No way am I hiking up to NYC at 4:00 AM unless we get more details and this is an outdoor event.

*falls around laughing* *tries to compose self* Lindsey's not a dolt! And he does not deserve frostbite! He's _cool_!! And a mere freezing cold day doesn't stop him from doing what he likes!

Although I think that day was the best example of Christine's comment that Fleetwood Mac can walk out on stage wuth every single member looking like they're dressed for a different place. In this case, Lindsey's going downtown in California or somehwere warm like that, and Stevie's off to Antartica!

Actually are we sure that the Summer Concert Series is over? Sheryl Crow played this morning in Bryant Park, which just happens to be one of my fave parks in the city. I think it would be the perfect setting for a little Stevie set, although I have no idea why she would round up the troops to do this one-off little gig on this side of the continent. That is, unless she had already planned on doing a corporate gig somewhere in town, or heaven forbid, a recording session!

Anyway, weather-wise, it's going to be much warmer than Jones Beach this past June, where she looked like she was wearing every frock in her closet at once..

NBC NEWS ‘TODAY,’ HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL
AND WARNER MUSIC GROUP JOIN FORCES
TO ‘MAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY’

Throughout the week of Sept. 26 Rockefeller Plaza becomes
‘Humanity Plaza’ as homes for families affected by Hurricane Katrina
are literally built around the clock

Participating artists from Warner Music Group’s Atlantic and Warner Bros.
Records include Josh Groban, Goo Goo Dolls, Tracy Chapman, T.I., Big &
Rich, Randy Newman, Ryan Cabrera, Yolanda Adams and many others …

NEW YORK (Sept. 20) – NBC News “Today,” Habitat for Humanity International and Warner Music Group are joining forces in an unprecedented effort to help the Gulf Coast rebuild one nail at a time. Beginning Monday, Sept. 26, Rockefeller Plaza will become “Humanity Plaza” for five days as homes are literally built around the clock for families displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Millions of dollars have already been raised for Habitat through this endeavor, and the partners have pledged to build a minimum of 100 homes over the course of the project that will be executed over the next two months.

As the exclusive broadcast partner, “Today” will follow the progress of the first phase of homes, and be there as Habitat for Humanity delivers them to families that they previously selected. The families will be profiled on “Today.” The project will be supported by thousands of citizens - including current Habitat employees and volunteers, employees of NBC Universal and Warner Music Group and visitors to the Plaza throughout the week. Celebrities and musicians from NBC and Warner's vast rosters will join the efforts by raising hammers, and even some microphones with special performances throughout the week of the 26th, including a kickoff concert on that Monday.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Warner Music Group and Habitat for Humanity to help in the efforts to rebuild the Gulf Coast,” said Jeff Zucker, president, NBC Universal Television Group. “The hundreds of NBC employees who are still stationed in the region, have just returned, or have been covering the story from home base, all share the same hope – to help the victims and rebuild the region, and we know that ‘Make a Difference Today’ will do just that.”

“Warner Music Group's artists and employees are pleased to partner with ‘Today’ and Habitat for Humanity to build homes and provide other critical assistance to those who continue to suffer from the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe," said Edgar Bronfman, Jr., chairman and CEO of Warner Music Group. "As the only major American music company, we recognize that much of our musical culture was created in this historic and unique part of the United States. Warner Music Group is grateful for the opportunity to participate in this initiative and many others to help get people back on their feet and begin to recover from this unprecedented tragedy."

“Habitat for Humanity is poised to deliver an unprecedented response to an unprecedented natural disaster,” said Chris Clarke, senior vice president of Communications, for Habitat for Humanity International. “To do so, to rebuild the lives of families who have lost so much and provide the ‘hand up’ that is the hallmark of our work will require an unprecedented level of support. Next week, the world will watch Humanity Plaza come alive as hearts and hammers pound the first nails in our recovery efforts.”

This project will produce the very first Habitat for Humanity homes – dubbed “houses in a box” – that will arrive in the region. The goal of the project - which will unfold in phases over the next few months - is to build a minimum of 100 homes by its completion. In addition, millions of dollars are expected to be raised to facilitate countless more homes being built in the region in the future.

Following the initial “construction” week on the plaza, “Today” will travel with the homes as they are delivered to the communities. The homes will leave the plaza for the transport on Friday, Oct. 1. On Monday, Oct. 3, as they are delivered and the installations begin, “Today” will mark the occasion with a special performance.

Humanity Plaza, while serving as a construction zone, will also serve as a destination for viewers and visitors to get involved and learn about ways to help the victims of Katrina. Tishman Speyer has graciously partnered on this project to provide the space and assistance to make this massive undertaking possible. Other organizations involved in Katrina relief will also be represented, including the Salvation Army, and animal organizations such as the North Shore Animal League, the Humane Society of the United States, and the Animal Veterinary Medical Foundation.

Children can send personal wishes to the families who will receive the new houses by visiting the Scholastic “Books Make a Home” tent at Humanity Plaza. Here, kids can write messages or draw pictures on special bookplates, which will be inserted in every book in a collection of 100 children’s books that Scholastic will donate with each new house. Children and parents can also pick-up age-appropriate information on Hurricane Katrina in Scholastic’s classroom magazines, Scholastic News and Junior Scholastic, as well as tips for parents on how to talk with their children about this natural disaster and other current events.

MSNBC.com will have a special section of the “Today” page dedicated to “Make a Difference Today” with general information about the project, information and links for all the organizations, video gallery, celebrity slideshow and more, all of which can be found at www.today.msnbc.com.

Images of “Humanity Plaza” will be made available on NBC's Media Village website at www.nbcmv.com.

"MAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY" - WITH CONCERT INFO
Published: September 23, 2005

NBC NEWS' ?TODAY,? WARNER MUSIC GROUP AND
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCE ARTIST LINEUP FOR HURRICANE RELIEF INITIATIVE

Josh Groban and Tracy Chapman Kickoff with LIVE Performances on the Plaza on Monday, September 26

(New York, N.Y.) - Friday, September 23 ? NBC News' "Today," Habitat for Humanity International and Warner Music Group Corp. (NYSE: WMG) announced today that Warner Bros. Records recording artist Josh Groban and Elektra/Atlantic recording artist Tracy Chapman will headline concert performances in New York's Rockefeller Plaza, which is being called "Humanity Plaza" throughout next week, on Monday, September 26, 2005.

The special concert performances are in support of "Make a Difference Today," the hurricane relief initiative announced earlier this week from NBC News' "Today," WMG and Habitat for Humanity International. Toyota, sponsor of "Today's" annual concert series, is generously sponsoring this very special line up.

This unprecedented and truly unique hurricane relief effort begins on Monday, September 26th when Rockefeller Plaza becomes "Humanity Plaza" for five days as homes are literally built around the clock for families displaced by Gulf Coast hurricanes.

Stevie Nicks will help build homes and perform on "Today" at "Humanity Plaza" on September 28 . On September 30, Yolanda Adams and New Orleans natives World Leader Pretend-who were evacuated from the Gulf Coast area and lost everything because of Hurricane Katrina-will perform. Other WMG artists participating in the building effort include T.I., Trey Songz, Twista, Sean Paul and The Crimea.

Additionally, there will be special performances on "Humanity Plaza" at noon everyday next week from the following WMG artists:

Monday, September 26 ? Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Tuesday, September 27 ? John Stevens
Wednesday, September 28 ? The Films
Thursday, September 29 ? World Leader Pretend
Friday, September 30 ? John Butler Trio

As part of Gibson Guitar's on-going company wide Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, the company is donating all the equipment and personnel. In addition, the Gibson Guitar world tour bus will be on site for these lunchtime performances on "Humanity Plaza."

The goal of "Make a Difference Today" is to rebuild a minimum of 100 homes in the Gulf Coast that were destroyed during the recent hurricanes. This project will produce the very first Habitat for Humanity homes - dubbed "houses in a box" - that will arrive in the region over the next few months. As part of this initiative, WMG artists and WMG, NBC Universal employees will also pitch in to help build Habitat for Humanity homes in Burbank, CA.

Great to see that she is helping out. My company that I work for is allowing all staff members to have any amount of money taken off there cheques to donate to the relief effort.

OI wonder how many songs she will sing. my guess is that she will do HAEWAFY. But if they allow for more songs chances are SB or E017. will be done as well. Oh well just gettinger the chance to see her perform again will be great.

Seriously, though, good for her for doing this. I hope it is something she really wanted to do, as opposed to being heavily encouraged to do it by her record comapny, which happens to be one of the three main companies/organizations behind this project. I'm not slagging Stevie here - I'm just saying. Record companies can be a tad dictatorial. But the idea of her building a house is about as funny as the idea of me building one. I wonder if "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You" might be

more "appropriate?" The mood today on the show was very . . .

I dunno - SERIOUS. And "Stand Back" for example, while

brilliant, wonderful, beautiful, etc., is basically an upbeat "Party" song.

Betcha the Stevester makes a donation though!

So, I'm watching this horrible show for our gal. Is there anywhere for her to perform outside with all those "houses"? I'm getting all confused. I missed the first 1/2 hour....and barely paying attention as it is. Is it going to be an indoor performance or is there a stage set up around all that wood?

The station I'm watching now started it at seven, ended it at nine, is annoying me with Philbin until ten, and then the third hour of Today is on at ten. Who the hell knows.

Like I said, I never watch Today, I'm a Diane Sawyer kind of guy.

SO what song do you think she will sing? HAEWAFY?

I never watch it either. Couric annoys me to death. What we don't do for Stevie.

Honey, my head was over the toilet bowl watching Couric hammer that nail with her "America's Sweetheart" schtick out in full force. I was hoping Roker would hit her accidentally, rendering her unconscious for the duration.

I was up at 8am just to see Stevie. If that's not devotion, I don't know what is!

FWIW, my husband has seen these over the satellite when he's working, and the third song is always from tape. This is the one she was doing when they came out of the commercial before. That's when it was taped.

Like I said, I think it's botulism injected into her face.

I'm glad they re-played it in its entirety so we didn't miss out on seeing it though.

Don't you just love that. :xoxo: My family does that all the time for me. My sister called me once and said there's some sort of special on Fleetwood Mac on Much Music right now. It was the "Classic Album's" the making of Rumour's

ms. Brooke could be crying but the botox creates an "other" mixed up expression on her face that is unidentifiable. (no sympathy, botox baby)
It's very weird looking to me & on my small set it loooked like she was holding tears back w/a wretched smile. I'll look on my big TV.

Anyone else see this?
