I agree with his general message/intent, but, to me, the very serious content of his message is lessened by his rhetoric and antics. But, people like him and they get him noticed  I will also say this, his research, unlike the far right wingers, is usually spot on.

Unlike Moore, Coulter does not tell the truth. That is a huge difference.

I mean take someone like Pat Buchannan. I am no fan of his, but he at least presents an argument that is thought out and well reasoned. Coulter just attacks with no facts to support her. Again, when O'Reilly laughed at her saying things were just going great in Iraq, it was spot on. I think she thinks if she says it enough it is true, which is assinine.

It does, but Moore's and Coulter's IMO focus more on them than the point. That is why I think the points get lost. It is almost like they want their names above the title like a movie star. When that happens, you tend to notice them instead of their point.

A good example of biting satire to me would be Maureen O'Dowd.

Unlike Moore, Coulter approaches things with humor...which a lot of people don't seem to understand. I have checked lots of her sources before and find most of her opinions to be spot on. But that's just me.

Bull****. You must not have done a very good job checking her sources, the dolt of a woman doesn't even know the difference between footnote or an endnote. When you first joined, I went through one of her books and systematically showed you how she distorts things and lies outright to help maintain her lousy points. So, things are going great in Iraq, Sen. McCarthy was a true American hero representing the values of freedom that are what America is all about, and Canada sent troops to Vietnam   I think you know better than that.

On a related note, According to our local weather-forecasters (The best in ALL of the US...The National Meteorlogical Center is based in Norman, OK) Hurricane Katrina was the equvilent of a F3 tornado, That would have been 8 miles wide.

Brian "Hey, Hey HEY! It's Fat Michael...He's gonna sing another song for you...Trying more to brainwash ya into seeing his view...He is an annoyance, With all of his usual spiel, I cannot wait to crush him dead under my wheels...Singing Dead, dead, dead...He's gonna be dead...hey hey HEY!!!" j.

hold the phone! I think Michael Moore is right ON the money and I am glad he sent that letter. The Moron needs to be castigated for his day-late and dollar-short response. Horse's Ass.

My mom said that "he's going around cleaning up with his whisk broom"

hoo boy....I dont know about you but that made me laff pretty good!

Meh. Christina is so new school. I much prefer Barbra, Judy, Liza and Ann Miller, don't you?

Yes actually I do...

Just trying to be nice, honey.

oh how sweet!

Are you telling me that you don't love June Allyson and General Hospital? Did I miss something???

Yes I like them both actually...but it was the tone you used it in.

Is there a new "tone reader" feature on this board? Because as far as I know - one can't really decipher one's tone on a format such as this - which is why people are always taking things the wrong way

I suppose I could have...but it was the way it seemed...to me anyway.

That's why people need to be vigilant in refining the intellectual level of their sarcasm and logic. So there is no mistake, that yeah, I meant that. :)

If you didn't see it, last nite, try to catch Bill Maher. Anderson Cooper was on! Bill made an excellent point: If the media made it to these areas to bring us coverage, why couldn't FEMA? He also gave Anderson kudos for "bringing back the press corps," and asking the gov't the tough questions!

Now Britney is my girl! I don't care what anyone says...Britney kicks a**!

Even though you don't care, I feel I MUST chime in here with my patented Brtiney quote.

Britney's a pig. I f*cking hate her.

Thank you.

Anderson rocks. His coverage of this has been pretty remarkable. Maher was getting on my nerves last night, though, but it's probably because I just wasn't in the mood for him.

Anderson DOES rock. He deserves a Murrow award!

I second that. :D It's wonderful that we have real journalists like him and Amanpour out there, especially now that real journalism has become archaic.

Michael Moore....hmpf....and what has that blabber-mouthed-ass-clown done to help the people of New Orleans? I think he needs to get off the high horse he's placed himself on. I realize his angle in trying to get some accountability, but he's downright irritating.

Mr. Moore is reportedly at a medical facility in Florida receiving treatement for obesity.

I thought that was what the Miss Cleo thread was about?

I don't know if you know, Christiane Amanpour is broadcasting from NOLA this evening for CNN.
