So there's some sort of Cheers story on NPR right now...and that got me thinking....
What are some shows that everyone seems to love - but that you never just got into?
Here are some on my list:
Cheers (though I love the theme song)
Mash
Murphy Brown

It's on Nick At Nite now, but very late at night. I think past midnight. I'm dying for the second season, I'm surprised my first season DVDs haven't died from laser rot yet.

"The woman thinks Camus is a soap!"
I also LOVED the one where she inadvertantly stole Socks, the Clinton cat - and also the one where she and Corky (LOVE HER) also got loaded on the plane and ordered everything from the HS catalog
I loved that show!

 I love the Socks episode!!!!!!
I also love the one where Murphy took credit for one of Corky's stories and Corky got back at her by stealing Murphy's stories right on the air. That was classic.
Seinfeld is the one I get the most flack for not liking, which is weird because I love Curb Your Enthusiasm...
I also never got into Charmed, which all my friends have been raving about for years. Again, weird because I'm a big fan of just about every supernatural themed show out there.

OMG - Garry Marshall was HYSTERICAL everytime he was on screen as was Tomlin - though she came in too late.
He says sheepishly - a court clerk once referred to me as "Miller Redfield" after an oral argument :o  :(

   Noooo!
I do think MASH is a guy thing. I love it, and the Hallmark Channel's 2 hour daily dose just started.
Seinfeld is only the greatest show of all time!!!
I never cared much for Cheers.
I don't get the CSI thing either. Or all the reality TV.

"guy thing" & "Hallmark Channel" just don't seem to fit in the same sentence. :D
The original CSI is great, the spinoffs are weak. Law & Order...same thing.

How can you people not like Cheers?! Holy Jeebus!!!
I'm with Brian on this one, I didn't get into any of those shows, either! Also I never liked Murphy Brown, MASH, The Jeffersons, The OC, Dawsons Creek, Laguna Beach (all those kinda shows.)

I still don't understand the whole CSI and Law and Order craze (and why do they have so many spinoff shows?).
Hate Law and Order, but I loooooooove CSI Original Recipe. I HATE THE CSI SPINOFFS WITH THE FIRE OF A THOUSAND SUNS.
CSI is awesome because it's an incredibly well-written and well-acted show that has one of the most dynamic characters ever on television in the form of Grissom... and they give you just enough personal drama/humor/interaction to offset the cases and to give the show an actual arc.
I don't get the love for Everybody Loves Raymond, or any of the sitcoms on today for that matter. Just think they're boring.
I love lots of shows people don't get or watch- Alias, Veronica Mars, and Arrested Development are the current ones. Older ones- Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, etc.

Funny how many of us don't get Seinfeld. Add me to that list. I actually have only seen one episode. I saw it - and the only other time I've seen the show, it was a repeat of the SAME episode. I took it as a sign.
Rest of my list:
All the Idol shows
Survivor
The Simpsons
Sex in the City
Someone above mentioned Freaks and Geeks. I? LOVED that show!! Along with My So-Called Life. But, right - we were talking about shows we just didn't get. :sorry: I get distracted easily. Probably why I don't watch much TV. I can never sit through a whole show. :o

Meee!! I love Freaks and Geeks!! You should get the DVDs. They are seriously an amazing investment. They have at least one commentary track per episode, and every episode also has a ton of deleted and alternate scenes. The special features are awesome.

VOMIT.
Don't let Hayley read that, it's just going to bring up her PTSD. Come to think of it, mine's all a-twitchy right now. Annnnnd if Sark doesn't come back at least for a few visits, well, we won't go there. It won't be pretty.
Anywho, back on topic.
Shows I never could stand/get into:
SEX IN THE CITY, NYPD BLUE, and to a lesser extent, SEINFELD. I also hated Everybody Loves Raymond and most of those other comedies. Eww.

Anything that's on TV besides "The Daily Show" and "Mystery Science Theater 3000."
Really, though, I don't watch a lot of TV, but there are a few shows that I don't watch but think are decent shows so I can see why people like/liked them like "Everybody Loves Raymond," "CSI," (don't know about the spin-offs, though), "Law and Order," "Friends," and some others I can't think of. I caught an episode of "Friends" recently and had to admit that it was funny; I just never wanted to watch it.
Anyway, I have never understood the whole "OC" thing. Or "Sex in the City." Also, I can't stand "Gilmore Girls." And any show on The Disney Channel, especially "Even Stevens" or "Lizzy McGuire." I've seen enough of those to know. Also, I can't understand watching any reality TV show.

I do find it kind of funny that, on the show, it's going to be Vartan's baby. Why she ever dumped his fine, fine ass for that beer-bloated wreck of a man with the most whoreanus facial hair known to mankind is beyond me. Unless she was under the influence of narcotics, booze, or both. Bennifer lives on, I suppose.
