result: we'd be voted off in the first rounds, yes......... :distress:
I got your back, too. Maybe the game could be:
Survivor- Those Who the Chiffonese Hate the Most.

and I'm sick of such narrow-minded views. Geez, Fleetwood Mac released six albums between the departure of Green and the arrival of Buckingham and Nicks, what about those, eh?
And, IMO, those are some of the best albums. MTM, FG,and BT.
INDUCT BOB!!!

I have a feeling that Mick & Stephen Davis (his writer), who are both British, got their wires crossed. My hunch is that one or the other of them was talking about British pounds. Hence the 800,000 figure. I'm not sure what the pound/dollar conversation rate was in 1990 when the book was written, but currently it's 1 US dollar = 0.566 British pounds. So it's conceivable that 800,000 pounds is about 500,000 U.S. dollars, & Mick and/or Stephen thought the other was talking about U.S. dollars when it was pounds.
At any rate, the actual amount is $500,000.
Objection!
Get your calculator.
If this is your defence I think you'd better off with counting 650000 as the correct answer.
800.000 pounds go over 1.2 milion USD.
SO in this calculation is
A) 800.000 USD the correct answer since 500.000 pounds were about 800.000 dollars
B) nothing correct so you'd better cut the miscalculation in half and give Peter Green immunity, because I Know I'm Not Wrong.

From the NationMaster.com encyclopedia:
The next album Mirage was a return to conventionalism. Hits included: McVie's "Hold Me", Nicks' "Gypsy", and Buckingham's "Oh Diane" which went Top 10 in the UK. A minor hit was also scored by Buckingham for his "Eyes Of The World". Unlike the Tusk Tour, the band only embarked on a short tour over 18 American cities. They also headlined the first US Festival for which they were paid $500,000. Mirage is an 1982 album by Fleetwood Mac, sometimes thought to be an attempt to follow up on the success of 1977s Rumours.
OVER-RULED! Kirwan still immune.

:D Okay that second part was really funny.
And yes, Peter Green is a legend.....but IMO only due to the length of time he's been around, but, honestly, mention his name to non-FM fans, and I doubt they'd know who he is.
When I think of a 'legend', I think Eric Clapton. Keith Richards. Johnny Cash. Pete Townsend. Peter Green is a self-loathing weirdo who, amazingly, hates his fans more than he hates himself. A very talented, self-loathing weirdo...
That's not true at all. In the UK more people are familar with Peter Green than Stevie Nicks. Hell, they play Albatross every chance they get here.
Green IS a legend.
As for the weirdo thing. I think most musicians are weirdos to an extent. Are you saying Stevie isn't weird?

Thank you for the correction, Gerald. However, I'm still going to stick to my $500,000, which I just know is right. I didn't mean to offer the British pounds theory as a "defense" so much as a possible explanation for the discrepancy.

And, again, you chastize and ridicule Stevie Fans on a daily basis... are you really so thin-skinned as to bristle at a little bit of teasing directed back at you? If I had thought that was really the case, I never would have joked about it.
The "Chiffonheads" were expected to just laugh it off when Stevie was voted against in every round (and then booted off a few rounds ago), so I guess I just thought that everyone else would keep their senses of humour about this game, too.

Actually Peter Green is more known in Italy than FM (with the exception of Stevie probably). And I agree with Sharon, in Europe he's considered a legend, I think he's one of the three best living guitar players. Some critics here especially love his solitary attitude, and his non-commercial choices. And the tribute album, Rattlesnake Guitar: Music of Peter Green, was another proof of how influential he is.

Okay, I'm a bit late responding to this. Being that I have never been to England, I am unaware of Green's popularity there.
And, oh, yes, Stevie is weird. Isn't that what attracts people to her? But there is a distinction....being weird does not make one a weirdo, except in a few cases.

Okay, I'm a bit late responding to this. Being that I have never been to England, I am unaware of Green's popularity there. He has an esteemed & extensive following among blues fans here in the United States, too. Go to a blues music board & start a thread about Peter. They'll chime in.
And, oh, yes, Stevie is weird. Isn't that what attracts people to her? But there is a distinction....being weird does not make one a weirdo, except in a few cases. No, but walking into a recording studio with a Spirit Catcher does make one a weirdo.
The thing that Kate said that's really a stretch was that Peter was a hack. No matter what you think of him or his music, by no stretch of the imagination was Peter a hack. A hack is a guy accepts any project handed down to him from his superiors -- he's out to make a living only & if he takes on a project that might be unsuitable to his temperament or talent, he does so for the money.
Based on what we all know of Peter's history, he was the opposite of a hack.

Bucky Burnette, esteemed rhythm guitarist, singer & songwriter, has been kicked to the curb of Fleetwood Mac Survivor. Bucky is once alleged to have performed "Rhiannon" during a Fleetwood Mac concert in 1990, but experts say that still didn't push him firmly into the ranks of megastar. Nonetheless, he has remained a loyal, staunch ally of Fleetwood Mac & a fan of their 40-year career. His standing as a Macster is marred only by his brief stint as a Q&A guest here at the Penguin, during which he supplied sullen, monotone responses of five words or fewer to questions from fans.

Between Peter and Danny, you're saying Peter's the weirdo  Sure, he may have had long nails at one low point in his life, at least, to my knowledge, he never had worms like one Daniel David Kirwan! That trumps ANYBODY in terms of the weird/ewwwwww factor.
