If anyone finds out what Don was wearing (especially the pants) you will make a chat room of Henley fans very, very happy :)
Wore all black, changed twice. (Sorry no specifics... she's not a Henley fan ;))
EDIT: 1st black shirt, with a cowboy kind of shirt underneath it? And later something with red trim.

There's an exact science to discussing Don's clothing...especially the pants...
We have names for them:
Old Man Pants
Yoga Pants
and then there are the Cargo pants <sigh>
He always wears the same footwear, so unlike y'all we don't need to discuss that.
We're also wondering if he had stubble.
It's fun to watch y'alls reactions to the shows....it's like doing homework for when we see the show in Jones Beach

You, my dear, are CRACKING me right up! I thought we were bad for discussing Stevie's clothes all the time, even Lindsey's for that matter! It's cool, though, he's your guy, I can respect that.

I found it too, and am listening. I think it's beautiful, and great, great, great, for STevie! so sad, so beautiful. so poignant. so perfect.

Well I DIDN'T grous about the Vegas set list as many others did. And How can you people say this is as adventerous as the Enchanted tour. Not even close (Gold and Braid, Twisted, Sleeping Angel etc.) This all the same songs, Leather and Lace and 2 covers.
I said it was the most adventurous since -- and it is. I never thought we'd see Stevie doing covers! And Amber, several = more than one. Look it up.

Just got off the phone with my friend George.
Jotted down some of the things he said.
I should add that George has been a fan since 1977, and has seen Stevie dozens of times on, I believe, every tour from 1982 forward.
He told me "everyone always says this, but she really did sound terrific and looked so beautiful and sexy." He also said that she was in "a fantastic mood," was being "very playful," and did a little "hula dance" during "Outside The Rain."
Before she left the stage after singing during Don's set, Don said she was going backstage to "try on clothes"... during which time, Stevie modelled her pants for the audience.
George also felt her and Don's chemistry was far more exciting than her and Lindsey's on the 'SYW' tour, and that she was "energized," "animated" and seemed very happy to be there. :D
Thanks for the info!!! I wish I could see a Two Voices show! It sounds great. And Lindsey and Stevie's chemistry is basically fake anyway, so I am not suprised Don is a better match for her.

Yes, I just looked it up - written by Roger McGuinn & Chris Hillman. Recorded by Petty in '85.
I'm listening to Petty's version right now - I can't WAIT to hear Stevie do it!!!
Everybody's covered this song. Stevie's version should be interesting.

Yes, we really do care (We're kind of sick that way <G>). Actually, we'd prefer cargo pants over jeans....but he probably wore black slacks or his "old man pants" as we lovingly refer to them.

wait - do you guys actually care what Henley was wearing? Do tell! :wavey: Okay, I'm gonna guess....black button down shirt, and jeans!

I'd actually argue that doing the Raitt song was no more risky than doing Fall From Grace because the audience was filled with people who wouldn't know either song. So telling a little story in advance about how she's going to do a cover and then saying the name of an artist that many people who would go to a Henley/Nicks show would recognize and like --- or doing a song like FFG that potentially the majority of folks wouldn't know -- I'm not sure one is riskier than the other.
HOWEVER.
Doing this cover instead of Landslide, which would have been the most well-received song of the night, was very risky. For that, and the damn studded pants, I'm loving Stevie extra special tonight. :woohoo:
Yup. I'm proud of her.

On the phone with Marissa right now. Don joked that he was just opening for Stevie. During Don's set she wore black pants with rhinestones or studs or something on the side, with stiletto ankle boots. Changed back into the black dress and shawls for her set. She introduced Circle Dance as one of her favorite Bonnie Raitt songs. There was handshaking, and the venue was fuller than expected.
Ironically, the album that has Circle Dance on it also has a song called...Steal Your Heart Away.

I got the impression though, that they had two separate bands.
George named Stevie's band members to me over the phone, and I believe they were the same guys as the Vegas band (though something makes me think the keyboardist was different than the one in Vegas).
Here's who I remember... Al Ortiz (who George says also sang backing vocals on "Beauty And The Beast," with Sharon and Jana!), Brett Tuggle, Waddy, Carlos, Jimmy (the drummer) and Taku. But the name of the other keyboardist is escaping me.

At any rate, I'm not the one spending the money, and I don't go to concerts... so maybe I don't have a right to add my two cents... but it seems to me that anyone who goes into a concert expecting the artist to do every song they want to hear, is going to be disappointed.
You said you'd rather she did "Kind Of Woman"... but truly, how likely is that? So, will the absence of that one song ruin the whole experience for you?
If I managed to get myself to a concert, I'd want to hear her sing "When I See You Again," but that's about as likely as me marrying Ann Coulter.
So I think I'd content myself with what she DID play, and not worry about the other 120 songs from her catalog, that she could have played but didn't.

So I think I'd content myself with what she DID play, and not worry about the other 120 songs from her catalog, that she could have played but didn't.
no, her not doing that one song wouldn't upset me at all. I just said Kind Of Woman was the first song that popped in my head to replace Landslide. Any suprise would've been nice.

No opening act (Don said he was the opening act! ).
No tourbooks, but shirts that said "Stevie Nicks: Tour 2005," and used the same pic of Stevie from the 'TISL' booklet (and "Sorcerer" single cover, and Vegas promos) with her arms outstretched.
Hmm Don kept saying there would be an opening act..I guess they decided to save the cash for themselves--probably to buy new Reeboks and yoga pants

The show was great. I almost didn't go due to lack of enthusiam on my part. I have to say that both Don and Stevie were in top form. They have great chemistry together. The only thing that would have topped it is if Lindsey was playing guitar. Also, Don's voice sounded much better than when I saw the Eagles a couple of months ago. His set rocked.
You could tell Stevie was having a lot of fun. Her voice sounded better than ever and she was looking hot hot hot. The crowd was really into it, at least up front.
Stevie singing Hotel California was a highlight as well as their duet on Circle Dance. Stevie said Bonnie Raitt was a big influence on one of them and that Bonnie wrote the song about her father.
I's estimate that the Wachovia Center was about 85% full at best, but the crowd was enthusiastic and loud.
Met Chris Nicks briefly backstage before the show and he seemed like a pretty nice guy.
For those of you doing the backstage thing at Holmdel, it's well worth it. Very nice setup, at least in Philly. Met some really nice people. I was told that there were 75 signed up for the Holmdel show.

Sorry, I'm a guy so I don't notice all that stuff. LOL
When Stevie twirled, the crowd went nuts. Didn't see any of the Vegas shows so I wouldn't know.
Yes, there was a movie playing in the background during Beauty and the Beast. Stevie's hair was up and she was wearing a black formal-type dress. I usually can't stand this song, but since she sang it with a very powerful and emotionalvoice, I couldn't help but like it .
Rhiannon was good because her voice sounded so good. I was not too impressed with Waddy on guitar.
Yes, her and Don were very flirty. I don't know if I would call it romantic though. They did hug a few times.

Just got back from Philadelphia and skimmed through this long-ass thread. Geez, don't you kiddies go out on Friday nights?
Here are my random observations:
-Stevie nailed the "Is-there-anyone-else-in-the-whole-wide-world-that-could-ever-replace-me?" at the end of OTR.
-During Don's set, Stevie was wearing black spandex bellbottom tights with sparkly things. Over this she was wearing a black gauzy billowy top (that came down to her thighs) and over this she wore a long black tailored jacket.
-Girlfriend looked HOT. I haven't seen her since SYW, and my goodness, I don't remember seeing her this small. Her hair also had a subtle wavy curl to it and was very layered in back.
-For "Rhiannon" she trotted out what appears to be a new black kimono-ish gauzy top with long billowy sleeves along with a cinched in obi-corset like thing. It showed off her new figure very well.
-For "Edge of Seventeen" she appeared to be wearing the "Gypsy" dress from the Mirage concert video- something cream colored with hankerchief hems and lots of beading.
-She wore spaghetti straps under her cloak during BATB. I haven't seen those shoulders since the 1980s!
-Not only did she sing harmony with Don, I should mention that she sang entire verses solo. I particularly liked the feeling she brought to "This is Your Last Worthless Evening."
-The crowd reaction to "Circle Dance" SUCKED! It was the first and only number during Stevie's set that the audience (on the floor) sat down. And as usual, the drunken skankchicks did their beer/bathroom runs during this song. The nerve! The song was ratcheted down in key... but it was a really pleasant surprise.
-Even though "Leather and Lace" was also done in a lower key, Don turned beet red trying to hit the high harmony notes. He's such a tool.
-It appears that a lot of the background visuals were the same ones shown in Vegas, including, yes, those unicorns! But instead of one big monolithic screen, there were five separate panels. It was definitely the most "produced" Stevie tour I've ever seen.
-There was no pressing of the flesh at the end of Edge of Seventeen since the stage was several feet away from the front row. Instead, she just kind of bent over and waved at people and smiled.
-The Stand Back high kick was in full force!
In general, I was impressed by all of the unexpected twists and surprises. Yes, most of the set was the same ol', same ol'... but the Bonnie Raitt tune, the Byrds tune, and 8 duets... I was duly impressed. And vocally she was about as spot-on as I've ever seen her. Not a single bad note or a flubbed line on the new (to Stevie) songs. I really felt like she really pushed herself for these shows.

Hello to all of you anxious Ledgies,
Well, I'll save the *extensive* reviews for the more regular posters, but after reading the TWENTY-SIX pages of this thread when I got home, I figured I might as well contribute. First off, and surprising no one mentioned, Sharon walked across stage, joined Stevie at centerstage for a part in Edge (??), and then just returned. Random, yes, but really neat. Also for SYWTBARARS, they put the words up on the two projector screens, which was absolutely hilarious. The two of them seemed to be having a great time during it, and it definitely pumped up the crowd.
Other answers: Stevie twirled a lot, especially during SB. 12 or so, I think. She also did the kick. BATB had the video in the background. (A side note on that: It looked like the same videos and images that were used in Vegas were used earlier tonight. Not exactly sure of ALL of them, but from what I've seen of the Vegas shows, I'd say at least 90% were used.) Rhiannon -- although not a big fan myself -- was pretty spectacular. There was a lot of energy and the crowd loved it!!!! Stevie's hair was very crimpy with bangs, but it looked really good. She had it up -- a la Las Vegas -- during BATB. Other than that, I believe -- although I didn't take specific notice, it was down.
As for her and Don's "chemistry," I was absolutely blown away. The highlight for me was during GDW when she sings "Rulers make bad lovers..." and "Lousy lovers...," she pointed directly at Don. It was amazing. He kinda shrugged it off playfully, but it was just really neat to see their chemistry. During CD, the two slow-danced on-stage briefly, which the crowd loved. They hugged a lot and were very playful throughout the night.
For me, at least, there were more surprises tonight than at Vegas. When she showed up on Hotel California, I was floored. Didn't see that one coming. And the cover songs. And the duets on songs I wasn't expecting. It was just amazing and a really neat experience to be there on opening night, when I had no idea of what to expect. Interestingly enough, I thought her voice got better as the night when on and Don's got worse. Of course, we all agree to disagree, but I just wanted to point that out.
I'm sure I've left plenty out, but I wanted to mention a few things. I'm sure more specific questions can be answered by others, but I wanted to do my part!! All in all, it was absolutely incredible. Absolutely incredible.
Brad :)

I wonder if they may drop Circle Dance?
And Don couldn't hit the high note on L&L? Well, at least he tried!
Glad to hear she was beautiful (even though I already new that!) Sounds like she is wearing her hair a little different. And, yes ever since the SYW tour has ended I think Stevie has been on a diet. She shrinks in every new picture we see!
OTR rocks live! She nailed those gibberish lines in Vegas too and it was just so cool. How does she do that? I have been trying to sing along to that OTR bootleg and I just can't make my voice sound that cool.
Did you take any pictures? Were camera's allowed?
I can't wait to hear Stevie on Hotel California. It sounds like Stevie was the star of the night, but it wasn't like Don was booed off the stage, was it? Also, could you tell who was sitting around you, if they were Stevie or Don fans? I mean, did the Stevie fans sit during Don't set and vice versa or was everyone just having a great time regardless of who they were there to see? Also, what kind of fans does Don have?

Brad :)
awesome review, thank you. Hair, crimped? I'm sure I'm the only one who likes that, so.... :D  Sounds great, glad you had a good time.

I took a few pictures, but I'm pretty sure they didn't come out too well. Originally, my friend and I had seats about 4 rows from the top of the venue, and a worker came up to us with FLOOR TICKETS!! The best part was, he said he needed to get rid of them. So, the 200-section people were all kind of seated together, and it gave us a good laugh or two for the night. Sorry, I digress. Back to the pictures. I'm not sure if they were "allowed," but EVERYONE had their cell phones up in the air taking pictures and there were plenty of other flashes, so I figured "Why not?!?"
Stevie was by FAR the star of the night. I (unlike most here) am a pretty big fan of Don (his music, not his personality per se), but when she came out halfway through HC, the place just went nuts. Absolutely crazy. You kind of felt bad for Don, because he's still in the middle of singing and here comes Stevie and the crowd goes wild. Despite this, and his joke that he was her opening act, the place was so energetic for both of them. So, yes, everyone was just having a great time regardless of whom they went to see. All the Stevie Fans shared their Stevie "knowledge" with the section. And all the Don Fans shared their Don "knowledge" with the section. It's tough to say what kind of fans he has, but, like I said, everyone -- or at least those near me -- enjoyed both aspects of the show. It blended quite nicely.
And, also, quick question. I was just over on an Eagles' website, and someone posted that SYWTBARARS was "an audible," and I had NO idea what that meant. The poster said it looked like L&L should have ended it, but they continued. Like I said, the two of them looked like they were having a great time during this song, laughing and interacting with each other, so who knows about the spontaneity of it?!? But, like I asked, does anyone know what "an audible" would mean?? Thanks!!
Brad :)

Don was definitely not booed, but I don't think he got nearly the warm reception that Stevie got. When "Hotel California" started, I could see this short little mic stand that suddenly appeared next to Don, so I sorta knew what was coming... but still, when she sauntered slowly to the stage to join Don on the chorus, the entire place went apesh*t! And it was very apparent to me that most of the people sitting around me were Stevie fans, or at least they fit the, um, Stevie fan idiom (shawls, glitter, Klonopin-era hair , etc.) Hearing Stevie sing the first few lines of the second verse of HC was kinda unsettling actually; I'm so used to hearing Don on it. But she managed to pull it off really well... her voice was kinda "Rasp a Little" era at first, but smoothed out later on.
Another cutesy moment was at the end of LnL when Stevie sings "Take from me my lace" and Don is tugging at the fringe of her lacy shawl. He seemed like he was in such a bad mood the whole night, but every once in a while he would smile... probably just thinking about all of the money he just made.
I could tell that a lot of pictures of this show will circulate... there were lots of flash bulbs a-poppin'.

Hmmm... maybe Don was in a bad mood because he wasn't the more popular of the two. Maybe he resents the fact that Stevie has so many more fans? Maybe this has to do with why he pulled out after only 10 shows.

Well, I did notice that immediately after LnL I looked at the band members in order to gauge whether I should head out or stay. Carlos Rios had this really confusing look on his face. But then Waddy started the two-chord opening to SYWTBARARS and then everybody else fell into place.
What I wonder is whether they would have continued on if it wasn't already after 11. After SYWTBARARS everyone on stage seemed to be confused about what to do. Some stayed with their instruments. Sharon and Jana started walking to centerstage, but then backtracked... and then the house lights stayed down for a long time after everyone left the stage, which led me to think there would be another encore...

I liked the format a lot, actually minus the above. I thought it would have been wise to bring them out together to eliminate that problem that would have occurred regardless of who was coming out. Aside from that, though, I liked the solo -- duets -- solo and then the solo -- duets -- solo. It broke it up nicely, but also made it feel like two shows.

Not complaining in the slightest, however...;) And, yes, after SYWTBARARS, since the house lights were down for so long, I just figured they would have come back out. I would say it was a hair over 20 minutes. They did have a revolving riser for Don and Stevie's drummers/percussionist. Stevie didn't get underway until a little after 9:45. They were supposed to be all done by 11 sharp, but the encores went until almost 11:10.

Ya know, I'll take this time to digress. I think I've doubled my number of total posts in the past 30 minutes, so why not?!? On his last solo tour, he would take time to introduce songs, and this song was one of them. Of course, he made the "I didn't write this about Stevie Nicks" joke while on tour, and thought he would do it again tonight. Of course not. He didn't interact with the crowd until a quarter past forever.
I like the guy a lot. I really do. As a musician and songwriter, he's definitely up there. But he has no or chooses not to have any social ability. Stevie took time to introduce her band and to give them the proper recognition. He did not. It was like they were just accessories to The Don Show. What she lacked in vocal ability (There were moments of "Rasp a Little." Especially when she came in on HC...did anyone else there experience the shocking level of her voice so unexpectedly?!? Out of control, really), she made up for in on-stage presence. I've seen her, I've seen her, but tonight was amazing in terms of her interaction and just the fun she looked like she was having. Nothing seemed scripted, nothing seemed like it HAD to be done, and she honestly and genuinely looked like she was enjoying herself. MUCH more than Don. I know he's no juggler or unicycle rider, but I guess I expected him to at least THANK the fans after one of his songs?!? To WELCOME the fans after one of his songs?!? But, that -- the on-stage demeanor and power -- to me, is more than half of a concert experience. I thought she was fine during SYW, but if tonight is what she was capable of then, she was definitely holding back.
Reason for this post?? Oh, yes. I agree, Stevie should have sung on "Witchy Woman."

Well no one was really thrilled about this Two Voices Tour but it sounds like everyone is pleasantly suprised!
Although I never posted it here -- in fear of being hunted -- I was very much thrilled about these 10 dates. I was beyond pleasantly surprised, but just wanted to point out I was all for it from the beginning...;)

Right. I'd have him over Vanessa Carlton. :( Any day. Are you going to all the Cali shows?
I'm shooting for San Diego, Anaheim, Universal City, and Concord. Anita would also like to try for Reno, and I'm beginning to cave in to peer pressure for Red Rocks...

You go, girl! I can mainly do Concord...I'm contemplating asking GnB for a ride to Reno (GnB!!! I'm Contemplating!!!) ...so, erm...how's the ol' printer working?
That's pretty good. I hope you see all that, and i hope I see at least one of that. Now I'm sad for no Don, though. strangely.

To be honest, I was checking the Ledge daily just to make sure that this was still going to happen. And I was worried until I drove up to see the Wachovia Center parking lot full, and even then I figured something could still cancel it. I was definitely gung ho from the get-go, but admittedly, begrudgingly. Especially after the LV shows were pretty much the standard Stevie fare. In a way, I think this has turned out even better than LV. Not only do we get some of the LV visuals, we get all of these unexpected songs.
Well, perhaps in the spirit of doing new things, Stevie will be on such a kick of self confidence that her solo Gold Dust tour will contain yet another batch of unearthed gems. Just when you think you've got her pegged, she pulls something else out of her cauldron of tricks.

Thanks. I'm beginning to think so. I'm not sure yet because I have to buy my mom tickets to the 3 so. Cal shows too, but I'm going to try. The venue is just so unique, and it's a bit of a "historic" one for Stevie, I think it'd be cool to be able to say you saw her there. I will be VISA's bitch by the end of the summer ;).
Hope you can make it to Concord, and possibly Reno as well. And Deborah, you have to make it down here for the other Cali shows!

same here, Havent been to Colorado since 1984 (And yes I've been to Red Rocks!!!) but the Dallas show being immediately before Red Rocks has left me between a rock and a hard place...Love to go back to Colorado but Dallas is the more realistic choice (Unless the money from my Mother's life insurance policy shows up before then)

I know, I was not down for the Don before, but, really, I love tons of Eagles/Don songs. But, mostly, I love harmonies, and to hear Don and Stevie do that would be just heavenly. *sigh*

Stevie sounds best on Harmony, like Second Hand News and I Know I'm Not Wrong from the SYW tour- excellent backup vocals.
I am just upset I will miss the Don/Stevie interaction (Don pulling Stevie's laces, etc.), the Don songs that Stevie sings on, Leather and Lace, and the cover songs (which I don't think will show up on the solo tour).

Am I the only one seriously dissapointed here. Why the hell cant she pull a song of HERS out of the vault instead of covering Bonnir Rait. Not impressed at all. And where's I Need to Know. She dropped it in favor of another Petty song. Where's Fall from Grace. I hope this Circle Dance is dropped when Petty leaves. The Vegas set list was better.
Hmmm seems like Stevie can't do right by anybody these days... I for one am VERY glad that:
1) the set-list is longer than I thought it was going to be
2) she's introduced some changes
3) I get to hear B&TB
4) I get to hear her sing back-up on some Don henley songs
So... I am VERY happy!!!!!!

I truly am an oddball, because I'm a very friendly person, and I genuinely like people... but in places like restaurants, malls, movie theatres, concert arenas, etc., I'll have a panic attack and have to split.
Go figure.
Gawd, I'd save soooooo much money if I had that problem! ;)

WOW Stevie Still Has it!!! She is a Rock and Roll Queen coz she knows what Rock and Roll is...goddamn you guys are lucky :(
-Girlfriend looked HOT.
-She wore spaghetti straps under her cloak during BATB. I haven't seen those shoulders since the 1980s!
Where's the licking lips emoticon?!
-It appears that a lot of the background visuals were the same ones shown in Vegas, including, yes, those unicorns! But instead of one big monolithic screen, there were five separate panels. It was definitely the most "produced" Stevie tour I've ever seen.
Very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing it. I knew I didn't have to go to Vegas. ;)
And vocally she was about as spot-on as I've ever seen her. Not a single bad note or a flubbed line on the new (to Stevie) songs. I really felt like she really pushed herself for these shows.
And THAT, TO ME, is what matters the most. Whether she's doing "Landslide" for the millionth time, or performing "Circle Dance" for the first time. It's not like watching a video over and over. I think each and every concert experience is different and unique. There's nothing quite like the excitement of seeing Stevie walk out on the stage in the flesh and blood.
Thanks for the review!

When are they are Red Rocks and how much is a limo from your house - we may have to go
She's playing that date solo.
Also, limos are harder to come by here in cow town. I might be able to arrange a covered wagon for us, though.

I find this so funny. Remember at the beginning? We were all like, "noooo! We just want Stevie solo! Well, crap, I have to pay to see Don, too! I wish there was a solo show near me...."

Now, I'm SO excited about seeing this Stevie-Don show. Though, I DO still wish there was a solo show coming near me... (greedy me).

This thread has been seriously addicting, I don't think I have never read before thirty pages so rapidly. Before going to the MP3's one :blob1: I wanted to know how this show was and it seems so great. Thanks to all those who gave news about it and wrote reviews. Stevie did the miracle I'm dying now to see a concert in which there's also Don Henley. I'm so glad she's covering this Bonnie Raitt song, I didn't know Circle Dance, but it's truly beautiful (Thanks Diss!). The lady never ceases to amaze me. Ok, off to the other thread now!!! :D

Just some quick thoughts on the show.
1. Don was good , but he didn't introduce his band and barely interacted with the audience.
2. His set list was pretty well what I expected to hear from him. I would have liked to hear Taking You Home. I really like that song.
3. Stevie was great. I think the highlight for me was BATB and CD. They rocked.
4. Stevie's new drummer has one heck of a hairdoo.
5. Stevie set pretty well what I expected. The only thing I was surprised at what that she didn't sing Landslide. I mean I am not disapointed as it has been done to death but I really thought it would be done for the fans.

Stevie and Don in New Jersey
6/4/05
Stevie looked fantastic. She even wore pants during Don's set.
Two rock and roll hall of famers at their best and singing each other's songs. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! The place was SRO with equal Don and Stevie fans but Stevie's set was longer and better!
To all the doubters about Stevie and Don being a good pair! Just forget it. These two were phenomenal together and Stevie showed much more energy than when she sings with Lindsey.
And they sang together at center stage the whole time. No sense of competition like during the FM shows. They were true duets.
Don opened with "The Genie," an ok upbeat song from Inside Job, his last (2000) solo LP.
Then as if to get is ready for the witchy woman herself he did a great "Witchy Woman" and a great cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You" (later coverered by CCR).
Then out came Stevie for an incredible "Hotel California," she even sang the great "spirit here since 1969" line. She sounded great--rocked and sang right in Don's face. Awesome!
Then they dueted on "New York Minute" and "The Last Worthless Evening." Great soulful performances. She left to tumultuous applause and Don did a beautiful "Heart of the Matter" and totally rocking "Life in the Fast Lane" and "Dirty Laundry."
He ended early with the ok "All She Wants to do is Dance."
The whole Bootylicious track and the new discofied Dreams preceded Stevie coming out to a standing-only crowd for a riveting "Outside the Rain," during which she screamed the "look in my eyes" part.
Then Dreams into the piano intro to a rocking "Rhiannon," in which she twirled much more than during FM SYW tour.
"Enchanted" then into "Gold Dust" with Don on some of the verses parts and the chorus.
Then they dueted on a great "Stop Dragging" where she looked at pointed at him just like in the video w TP.
Then a beautiful duet on a Bonnie Raitt track "Circle Dance." They both said she was a big influence on them. Funny, sicne one of the first reviews of the white album I ever read in the 70s said Stevie sounded like Bonnie.
Then a rocking Stand Back with 30 seconds of mad twirling.
The set lost a little momentum with Beauty and the Beast, in which she sounded great, but it was a little hokey coming during such a rocking show where she proved that she is the best female rocker ever (possible exception Janis--though Janis never wrote songs like Tina Turner, who never sang as great as Stevie anyway). The French BATB film looked surreal on the big screen at the top of the stage. Like a rock video from the silent movie era. Stevie wore silly head gear with hair in a bun.
Then an amazing Edge of 17, with the call of the nightbird, when doves cry and some new words that I forget now.
Amazing numbers of fans giving her stuff and handshaking.
Then off stage--back for amazing "Leather and Lace" encore, the first time I ever saw Stevie do this song on stage and I've seen her 39 times. It sounded just like the record.
Whoever said she shouldnt consider Desperado is wrong, because her voice was in the best shape I've ever heard and Don was in fine form.
But instead of Dsperado, the first time I've ever seen Don when he didn't do it, they did Roger McGuinn's "So You Wanna Be a Rock and Roll Star." What a great performance. They should've filmed it cause it was two of rock's best singers rocking out full tilt. The place was going crazy--the words were on the screen and everyone was singing along.
Great evening. Well worth every penny. Stevie has never been this hot.
She continues to be an entity way beyond just Fleetwood Mac.
Long live rock's queen.
