I feel really, really, alone, in that I love both Dennis Miller and Tom Cruise. :distress: Although, of course, I like old Dennis Miller better than new Dennis Miller, but he is always extremely clever, and I have a super crush on his scorpio ass. Even though I see he has become insufferably repub. *sigh*. :distress:

I like Ton Cruise's movies  I though I liked him personally via his media appearances until he started showing the "real" side of himself in the last few months. I still like his movies though.

As for DM, I do not find him funny and to me, he comes across as an idiot.

It was really the way ot was shot and I just thought it was silly. I am not saying it was a bad movie, it just did not appeal to me, plus gore is not my fav. thing. Fargo is another one - I just did not like it, though FM was brilliant in it. I though Fargo was just too slow for me to like, even though I get that its tepid pace was the point. I did LOVE when the bimbo was having sex on top of WH Macy and the scene opens with her in that dialect screaming something like "HAAAHHHHHRRRRIIIEEE - wwhheerrree arre youuuuussee"

Damn, I adore both of those movies. I think American Psycho is a riot and his performance is just chilling and hilarious at the same time. That scene where he kills Leto has me in hysterics every time. And the Whitney Houston monologue!

His show is insufferable. He had Yeardley Smith on his panel one night and every time she would try to speak (and she is one smart ****ing cookie, too), he'd interrupt her and make the worst joke in the world. I almost blocked CNBC after that particular show. He's so unfunny and smarmy, I hate it.

But have you seen his old HBO specials? Omigod!!!! Sesly, even in his new garb, I think he is extra Clevah. He is an aquired taste, though, in that he references things, and is so fast with his wit, that everyone might not get it. Heck, even I don't get every thing he talks about. I haven't seen his new show, though. But I almost always think he's funny - he's so razor sharp. :) But I like sarcastic smarm. I love how he can reference fifty different media things in one second, and it all applies.

mmkay. I enjoy how I don't have to walk my cats at least twice a day. I just left them for 5 days, with food, and they were fine. I have a cat who sleeps on a pillow next to my head, and always wants to be on my lap. Plus he fetches and wards off intruders. And eats the bugs that get inside. And actually, my cats usually go to the bathroom outside. :) Whoever marries me must love dogs and cats.

I should find some, I have TONS. She always makes a big impression on company. She gets so excited that she piddles and then gets embarrassed, so she runs and hides for an hour or so. When she goes to the bathroom, she comes back into the apartment and sits in front of the cabinet where I keep her treats, barking until she gets one. I have so many stories about that little runt.

I haven't cleaned up cat ****e since they were about 2 weeks old. No problems there, in fact if anything it would be vice versa seeing as cats tidy up after themselves and I've never once come across cat remains in the garden. Bathing is taken care of, they're very polite and do that for you. Going for walks is nice but only if you want to, I'd hate the obligation to do it every day. And when the cat is annoyed he just gives me death stares, rather than keeping the entire neighbourhood awake. With that I conclude the little felines the winner. They're so grand, but then I've had a fascination with cats for a long time, including a fantasy where I'm killed by a lion or just any of the big cats.

 well, I guess they are definitely the winners then.

The reason I named her that is because after I told my friend Jamie how much I had paid for her, she remarked that the dog was "the saffron of dogs," i.e. outrageously expensive like the spice.

I had gotten numerous dogs from shelters and they all eventually died from being sick and I just couldn't deal with it again, it was too hard. But I am thinking of getting another from a shelter this summer.

I think getting a shelter dog is a great thing. The sad thing is as you noted, the shelter dogs tend to get sick more often or at least faster than a pure bred dog tends to. Though I think in its own way the procedure is a little cruel, I wish people would spay or neuter all animals they are not going to breed. That way, the amount of unwanted animals would be greatly reduced and people could try and breed a great number of diseases out of bloodlines.

 I was nervous about getting a shelter dog - and initially she did have some health issues - more nervous issues actually - she was such a wreck - had been abandoned etc....

She's happy as a clam now and well adjusted - or so it seems, at least she's stopped chewing her own fur off.

I have had her checked out by the vet and all is good thus far - which is great considering the shelter said she was 9! She does not act like a 9 year old dog though....

And last night I discovered that my dog can eat from a fork like a person - well as long as I hold the fork :D

ITA. People are so very ignorant about pets, particularly dogs. They figure "hey, let's get a dog" without researching anything. Puppies especially - hello, you have to TRAIN a puppy constantly, it's not just going to act the way you want it to by itself.

We used rescue with Bubba & it worked great. There are numerous certified rescues across the country for many breeds & they do full medical checks, immunization updates, spay/neuter if not done already, behavior evaluations, etc. That way you know what you're getting into from the start, plus most of the dogs are purebred.

Amen - I work with the Scottie Rescue here, which, like most rescues, handles more than just Scotties if the need arises. In fact, one of my fav. moments at the Scottie Specialty dog show this year was the Rescue Parade. Some of those poor dogs had been beaten and abused so badly that death would seemingly have been a blessing. Many were still a little bald from where they had been burned, insects were allowed to eat them away, or they chewed off their own skin due - - all due to neglect or just plain cruelty. When you see the boards with pics at the shows, you just break down and cry. But, there are happy endings as witnessed here http://clubs.akc.org/stca/highlight.htm

I can't even imagine how someone abandoned my Clancy. She's such an amazing dog and has brought SO much joy into my life - I guess it was meant to be - but still - I can't fathom how people can just up and leave their pets behind :distress:

I'm in the process of moving -and yes, it's harder to find a place that takes pets - but it's worth the effort to me - and i found an amazing place in which both Clancy and I can live...there's no way abandonement would even be a consideration!

Haha, sometimes I call Mufy moo too. He really is the best cat. Last night he was in the drawer playing (I'm an indulgent Mom) and he pulled out a bag of catnip. You should see the way he wrestles that stuff. He gets up on his hind legs and shakes it around, slams it on the ground, rolls around. It is so funny. I knew it would end with a mess but he was just having so much fun. :D I'm glad to hear that Clancy is helping you feel better, good doggie!

I don't know if you remember but I got Mufy from someone who was taking care of him temporarily. She and a friend removed him from a neighbor's apartment. The neighbor had been hospitalized and left the kitten behind. Someone was going in and feeding him but they say he just got really bad quickly so they took him out after a month I think . Poor kitty. By the time I saw him he seemed healthy, the foster people had him for about 2 weeks.

Sean called me and told me his neighbor had a kitten looking for a home, that it kind of looked like his cat, and that he picked him up when he met him and Mufy fell asleep in his arms. I was like, "Yeah, I want him." So as a formality I went to meet him, then cleared it with my roommate and took him home the next day. That night when I went to bed he jumped up next to me and slept beside me. I was thinking, he knows he is safe here already and that I'm going to take care of him well. My heart just welled up.

I'm SO naming a new pet Boli Stoli.

It needs to be a crazy pet, though. I mean, you could never get a pit bull and name him/her that

- morning chat shows (TV AND radio)
- breakfast foods (eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage, waffles, milk)
- donuts
- massages from strangers

What things do you feel alone in your negative feelings towards?

Ok...
I hate MOST im's. They are intrusive.

I hate to see Stevie's image, or the bands, burned onto tacky books, shirts, mugs, or made into "CD's" and sold on eBay. This is a biggie for me.

I hate that I am on a diabetic diet now (my body screams for sugar! lol)

 Well, my cat's nickname is spelled Mufy but sounds like Moofie, it is short for Mufasa. And he is cool. Check this out.

Thanks Riss. He's actually kind of dog-like because he loves water. He drinks it from the tap. He used to always jump in the tub after you took a shower. He's very smart and sneaky. His fur is really really soft, I mean really soft. He's got all this extra fur too that grows out from his paws. It's so cute. He loves to play, and he loves to ambush us as we walk by. He's also very brave. Here's another pic of my baby.
