1. Midnight in Memphis (Bette Midler)
I've only been saying that for two years, dear.
Midnight In Memphis along with Shiver Me Timbers (Bette's live arrangment, not the the one from the New Depression album).

Ok here is my little Stevie singing wish list-= Covers, most of them----wouldn't it be great to hear her rendition of these excellent tunes? In no particular order, I might add, and with no connection theme either, for that matter-Just songs I would like to hear again and again...
Walkin after Midnight- Patsy Cline
At Last- Etta James
Someone to lay down beside me-Karla Bonoff
Delta Dawn w/Bette Midler, that would be cool :D
Mistaken Love- Stevie Demo, I love
I need to know- Tom Petty
Rock a Little- Stevie
and Barracuda...and These Dreams -Heart( I read somewhere that These Dreams was actually written for Stevie, but I don't know if she turned it down or what the strory was...)
Encore= Safe and Warm- Sheryl Crowe
I'd pay top buck to see a show like that :) :)

Hi everyone, I'm new. I'm a huge Stevie fan, and while I'm not too thrilled with yet another shed tour and sharing a bill with Henley, I will take any piece of Stevie I can get.
Great thread topic. First, I'll start with what I *know* will be her setlist. As much as I love me some Stevie, she is one predictable woman.
1. Outside The Rain (she'll bring it back)
2. Dreams (I'll fall over dead if this is never her #2 song)
3. Enchanted (she clearly loves this one, I do too)
4. Gold Dust Woman
5. Sorcerer
6. Landslide
7. Rhiannon
8. Stand Back
9. Edge of Seventeen
Encore:
10. I Need To Know
11. HAWAFY
My dream setlist:
1. Outside The Rain (the opener I grew up with and love)
2. Talk To Me
3. Candlebright
4. Gold and Braid
5. Rooms on Fire
6. Beauty and the Beast
7. Too Far From Texas
8. Stop Dragging My Heart Around
9. Stand Back
10. Edge of Seventeen
Encore:
11. Fall From Grace
12. Highwayman or After The Glitter Fades

Bella Donna
Edge of 17
If Anyone Falls
B&tB
TISL
I Can't Wait
Talk To Me
Rooms on Fire
If You Ever Did Believe
Touched by an Angel
Reconsider Me
Stand Back
Think About It
Fall From Grace
The Highwayman
Any Petty song other than I Need To Know
If (yeah, right, "if") she does some of her Mac tunes, I'd prefer something different. I don't think Landslide should ever be done again without LB (or SS, for that matter.) Leave Rhiannon & GDW out this time too. Give me Storms, Angel, EFO, Illume or even That's Alright (I'd actually prefer Straight Back, but I don't think her vocal would be powerful enough now.)
EDIT: I just read Rickypt's post (welcome to the board, btw!) :wavey: and I also want OTR back.

5. Hot Fun In the Summertime- Sly and the Family Stone
6. Wild Thing- Troggs

12. Rose's Turn- Sondheim and Styne
13. Funny Honey- Kander and Ebb
14. Bike Boy- Debbie Harry

Are you talking about the recorded version or, GASP, a live one. If there is a live one, I need it IMMEDIATELY   No, I think V. just meant the cut from "Orders from Headquarters." Stevie & Robbie never sang that live, as far as I know. Anyone hear of an occasion? I think the only time they even appeared on stage together was for the Bob Welch & Friends club dates in November 1981 (although he may have appeared with the Fleetwood Macsters at the UCLA Rock 'n' Run benefit for muscular dystrophy in 1983 -- I can't remember).
What ever happened to Robbie Patton (aside from getting older)? Into the bargain bins?

You know what? I just don't want to hear all the songs we've heard live so many times before. I don't want Outside the Rain or Dreams, Rhiannon ( :sorry: ) or I Need to Know, or Stand Back ( :sorry: again). I want her to go into the vaults and pull out old, beautiful songs and some of the more rockin' ones that have never seen the bright lights of the live stage. And for those of us who have been with her for years and years and years... some of the lesser known demos. I'm not going to make a list - I'm just going to hope she takes a risk.

catinthedark, I hear you loud and clear. I've just given up hope that Stevie (or FM) will ever shake up her setlist. I've always been hoping for a club or theater tour, but obviously she's hitting the sheds again with Henley. That House of Blues experience was so great but it was 5 years ago.
I would be fine never hearing Dreams or Rhiannon again. And I never got into I Need To Know, have no idea why she insists on keeping that in the list.
But Stand Back, my goodness I think I could spend the rest of my life watching a live performance of that over and over.

Nice choices. I always thought that Sable on Blonde would be an excellent swap for Dreams. It has the same beat/vibe as Dreams and would segue seamlessly from Outside The Rain.
I'd like to think that there is someone in Stevie's camp who would have the objectivity and influence to suggest and lobby for inspired changes in her live performances. Perhaps there is, but they probably get shot down -- she's too fearful to change.

In my parellel universe, Stevie will banish all Fleetwood Mac songs from her set list, quit riding those coattails, and honor her solo career. Only such a small fraction of her body of work has ever been performed live. It's shame she doesn't take more stock in her lesser known "children." Can't begin to understand her choices, but wouldn't most performers get sick of singing the same small list of songs (both solo and with Fleetwood Mac) for twenty-something years???
However, we must give her credit for digging out songs like Garbo, Sleeping, Angel, and Rose Garden. Hopefully this trend will continue.
At this point in her career, she can do whatever she wants, and the days of hit singles are long gone (the industry has changed greatly). Instead of constantly retreading past glories, she should be re-defining herself through her newer material ("newer "meaning songs from the past 20 years). You would think that would be a fun thing for her. It certainly would be fun for her fans.

Wouldn't it be great if she decided to do "I Sing For The Things"?? I think her current voice would be perfect for it!
And I forgot to add to my earlier list......
"Fireflies"

I agree with I sing for the things. Love that song. Fireflies? It's okay, better than a bunch of other stuff she could choose...Not extremely attached to it, but if it replaces "Dreams", I swear, I'll throw a fricking party! :woohoo: And I'll fling money into the air with sheer joy!!!!

I would fall over and die. Not even the reappearance of her upper register could make me happier than hearing Space Needle live.

Ditch all the old standbys. I'd be thrilled to hear any of these:
Fall from Grace
Storms
Sara (I thought it sounded great on the last tour, and it's always been in my top 3 FM songs)
Not Make Believe
Destiny Rules
Candlebright
Trouble in Shangri-La
Love Is (piano only)
Bella Donna
Sable on Blonde
Nightbird
At Last
Some Become Strangers
Sleeping Angel
Blue Lamp
That's Alright
Blue Denim (Dissention's right, the live rendition is so much better than SA)
After the Glitter Fades (acoustic)
Hawkeye

I think it would be pretty flippin' awesome if she brought out Sister Honey, myself!
You know... I think you will like Sister Honey!!! She will help you make up your mind....Even if you don't need her - tell her you need her, she needs you brother!!!!!

ok. at least not from me, you don't. ;) :wavey:
It's not so much what she sings, but rather how she sings. Any song from Stevie's catalog would be fine by me, with the proper execution.
