I met him a couple of years ago. He was speaking at a church I went to a few times. I have a picture of me (bleck, I look disgusting!) and him. He was VERY sweet and quiet. His wife, Amy, is stunning.

I had a crush on him back in the early 90's. I loved him in the movie, Vice Versa with Fred Savage....where they switched bodies, ala Freaky Friday. He's also pretty cute in Beverly Hills Cop. He's a dorky cute. LOL

I think Linda's role in Dogma was dreadful, though. She really needs a bunch of star vehicles where she doesn't have to pretend to be nice, a la Bette Davis. She is phenomenal in those roles.

Huh. I like Dogma - it's actually my favorite Kevin Smith film...BUT I've never seen LInda Fiorentino in anything else so I really have nothing to compare it to....did like her in Dogma though....

-----

I just watched Bridget Jones's Diary for the first time ever...and let me just say....I LOVE Colin FIrth - I think I'm going to ge rent every movie I can get my hands on with him in it

I guess as long as there are at least two guys out there who go for "dorky cute" guys, then there's hope for me yet!

Of course, I know I've got the dorky part down, it's the cute part I'm not too sure of!

Ellen Burstyn is always great, BTW.

The reason they didn't nominate her was because it premiered on cable.

Do you look anything like Judge Reinhold?

Serrart

isn't she kinetic? And she can flash the bitchy/disdain in her eyes like no one since Bette Davis! Pisces, by the way...

I think Faye Dunaway, Sigourney Weaver or Anjelica Huston can do that pretty well too  . I like Linda Fiorentino but she tends to be typecasted; a skilled director and a well written role in a drama or a comedy could help her to remember Hollywood what a good actress she is, IMO.

But really, all the italian (american) actors i can think of aren't cute  However, whenever i see italian people in italy (on tv in the background, or in movies) there seems to be high proportion of REALLY CUTE BOYS. Gay Twin Syndrome !

Whenever I go to flea markets, my friends and I play Find The Gay Twins.
It is a riot. We always find at least half a dozen Gay Twin Couples. There are always :
1. The Body Builder Twins
2. The Professor Twins
3. The Twink Twins
4. The Bear Twins
5. The Baby Butch Dyke Twins.

It never fails. There are so many Body Builder Twin couples in LA it is scary. And at least one of them, I swear to Buddha, is actually a birth twin couple. CREEEEEEPY.

I am attracted to guys who are physically similar to me in build, but not looks. Nonetheless, I keep finding myself dating GIANTS who are 6'2" and above.
The under 5' 10" guys who have muscular compact bodies and dark hair just don't go for me. Not often enough anyway.

I used to love Pacino, but he hasn't been good in YEARS. Every new role is just self parody these days. Why he won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for Angels In America is a mystery to me. That whole movie was pretty wretched, anyways, the only saving graces were Mary Louise Parker and Meryl Streep as Ethel Rosenberg. Emma Thompson was good, too.

Yes, a little meat on the bones is a good thing. Two things I don't like are skinny and no body hair.

Well, I'm not skinny and I'm definitely not hairless... so, how YOU doin'? ;)

As far as what I'm attracted to... for me, it's usually the vibe the person exudes. Something I can see in their eyes.
I just don't really have a "type"... my attraction to someone is mainly based on intangibles, so it's kind of hard to describe. Definitely not as easy as saying "tall" or "slender," etc.

Easy cowboy. I am not talking about guys who are 5'4" and 180 pounds of muscle. Just guys who are proportionate and under 5'10". Okay, maybe a little muscular. I like something to grab. Jon Bon Jovi, even though he's kind of a dwarf, has perfect proportion.

I was sort of joking about being attracted to guys who look just like me. I'm short, and I feel uncomfortable with guys who are much taller than I am, and it seems the last couple of guys I've been interested in/gone out with have been at least 5'10" and I'm just tired of it. I'm more attracted to guys that are around my height.

For me, as with everything, it always depends on the guy.
There really isn't a "too short" or "too tall," or "too smooth" or "too hairy," or "too mature" or "too twinky," or "too" anything... it all depends on who captures my interest.

I think everyone should be suspicious of anyone who is involved in Scientology. The clams in that church will brainwash you, rob you blind, and torture you mentally until you crack. I have no respect for any celebrity who preaches about the "miracles" of that "religion." The thing wasn't even a "religion" until the 80s and L. Ron Hubbard, the idiot who invented Dianetics and Scientology, publicly stated that the just wanted to form a religion so he didn't have to pay taxes. AND - he was a satanist.

Go look up who they worship (Xenu). Or look up the Sea Org. Or Narcanon. That **** will scare the bejesus outta ya!

This is true. Some guys I know got caught up with Scientologists for a whole afternoon because they were asked to take a "test". They didn't have any plans so they said they would. They were then locked inside with these scientologists trying to "convert" them. After hours, they finally got out.

I was taking classes about religion and theology and got wrapped up in reading about Scientology and that quack L. Ron Hubbard. I found it quite fascinating. I was in Boston for a week and got one of those flyers that the clams hand out on the steps of the "church" and couldn't pass it up. The video they show is about an hour and a half, they won't let you leave, and if you express disgust over all of it, they really throttle you. I had to go to the bathroom and they literally paused the tape and followed me around the church. Even waited for me outside the crapper. They worship pictures of L. Ron Hubbard as if he's their god, too. After the video, they force you to tell intimate details about everything from your childhood to your sex life. I went in at noon and came out at six at night.

I ended up taking classes because I was writing articles about the whole thing and the classes are the real freak shows. At the introduction, they wheel out the E-Meter.

Unless it changed since I was there last, there aren't any electrodes. Look up what this "religion" has done in the last fifty years, it's a freakin' cult.

I know. This brings me back to the Tom Cruise thing, I'm one who likes him. Except, I have to reserve some of that because this "religion" is so f*cking twisted that I can't really open myself to someone who is part of it.

seriously, to hear people chattering vacuously in the morning would make me scream. I usually need a "womb like" environment for the first little while. When i stayed with my friends family, her, her kids, and husband would be up at like, 7 am, and I was sleeping in the frontroom, and i just wanted to kill them. And then i'd finally get up, and Rain would be like "Hi! Jabber, Jabber, jabbberjabber? jabber!!!! jabjabjabjab, buhjabberjabberjabber..." And i'd be like "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! CAN'T YOU SEE I JUST WOKE UP? JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!"

But it was ok, cause around 9 pm i'd be doing the same thing to her, while she could barely keep her eyes open or have the cognisence to answer. "When morning people are friends with night people: Worlds Colliding"

I, too, had a little encounter with Scientology. My ex-husband started to get involved with them, so I went down there with him one time to check things out. I saw the video you were talking about, Diss, and all I kept wondering was "when do I get some answers as to what Scientology is?" Then they gave me a test, a paper test, to determine whether or not I was happy. Of course, I was not, because the questions were rigged so you couldn't be happy. Then they started pitching me on all their services, which of course I would have to pay for. I said no thanks and shortly thereafter, my ex figured out what a scam it was too and quit. For quite some time afterward, they kept sending him letters and stuff asking him to come back. He didn't respond and the last one they sent was really nasty, calling him all sorts of names and telling him what a loser he was. It was scary.

The freakiest thing I saw there was the "shrine" to L. Ron Hubbard. They had what was supposedly his office, encased in glass. There was a desk, chair, some bookshelves and a pair of reading glasses sitting on the desk, with the Dianetics book. I asked about it and they said that they have these memorials to L. Ron in almost every city. I thought it bizarre and strange.

Did anyone see Tom Cruise on Inside the Actor's Studio? I can't stand him (mainly because of the Scientology tie), but I watched it one afternoon when I was bored. He quoted L. Ron a couple of times, referring to him as his "mentor". How could the guy be his mentor when he's DEAD???? Too, too strange for me.

Did you get the test that asked whether or not you get "gay urges"? Or the one that asked whether you've been to a psychiatrist? Those clams abhor psychiatry with every fiber of their being and it's quite funny. Bring the subject up and you'll light a fire under their asses.

I got a threatening letter after one of my articles about it was published in one of the local papers, telling me that I was "trash" for pretending to be interested and for using them. Them clams are crazier than ****house rats. They used to have, literally, concentration camps in lots of foreign countries. They sent you to one if they didn't feel you were progressing of if you disobeyed them. They made you do all kinds of hard labor and they would tie you down at night. The one they had in Switzerland closed about ten years ago, I believe. Don't even get me started on Narcanon, it's hilarious and VERY dangeroous. They imprison someone in this "rehab" center, make them quit drugs cold turkey, make them sit in saunas for eight hours a day, and inject them with enough vitamins to give them a heart attack. When you become a member of the Church, they make you sign a form that says they can inflict bodily harm against you.

I didn't get the test about gay urges, but yes, they did ask me about psychiatry and told me how horrible psychiatrists were. There's a lot about psychiatry in Dianetics, if I remember. Psychiatry and all its evils.

LOL, I had forgotten about them bowing as they passed L. Ron's office! They did that here, too. The office is the first thing you see when you walk into the building. Freaky...

He is a fool. He probably wouldn't believe these reports either. Since he is no doubt a big donor I'm sure he gets the royal treatment from "The Church".

Another dangerous group that I have personally encountered is Landmark, they run this "seminar" called The Forum where you become "transformed". They use sleep deprivation, isolation, and coercion to get you to open up to their ideas. Then they brainwash you into their way after which some people will enroll in the next "class" which is a week long and like $700 or something. Someone I know suffered a psychotic episode after this and this person had no history of that beforehand. It is scary stuff, stay away from it. This person had to use the evil psychiatrists to get better, actually had to be admitted to a hospital for a little while. They had some nasty things to say on the phone to people who told them about this. I told them I wasn't interested in another seminar because my friend was suffering from psychosis, they just promptly hung up on me. :distress:
