An enjoyable read indeed.
But still not as good as a weekly dose of Popbitch and some is sadly complete lies - I personally know it's fake. Shame it's outta date too, I mean Sofia Coppola hasn't been married to Spike Jonze for quite a while, and Saffron Burrows is a fully fledged lesbian.

This one is hilarious!
"Driver, Minnie. Possibly not nearly so sweet as she likes to be portrayed."
What? Everyone knows Driver is a complete and utter bitch! She's notorious for it! And this I've heard from people who know her.
I like the one about James Spader.
"No one will ever love James as much as James loves himself."
Other favorites:
Sorvino, Mira. Reportedly difficult to work with. Refused to act alongside Ellen DeGeneres because she's afraid of somehow being linked with Ellen in the public's eye.
Macdowell, Andie. The light's on upstairs, but nobody's home. Possibly mildly retarded. Seems to have an aversion, in private life, to wearing any clothes. Recovering drug addict. Some folks who attend the same church that she does think she's a bitch; supposedly when her children did not get the lead in the church's pageant she "flipped and chewed out the clergy." And I've received some comments about her very bad attitude toward the locals. Linked with Harvey Keitel and Dennis Quaid.
Limbaugh, Rush. Conceited, morally bankrupt fascist. Divorced several times. Draft dodger. Long record of not voting, despite his political views. Allegedly busted, while in Pittsburgh, in a spot known as a pickup area for gay men around the University of Pittsburgh. Recovering drug addict (prescription pills and painkillers which he purchased illegally). Blustering buffoon on the air, very socially awkward and shy off the air.
Lewis, Jerry. Pompous, arrogant exploiter of diseased children. Can't understand why his film about a clown in a Nazi death camp is in bad taste. Never graduated from high school. Difficult to work with. Sexist. Percodan addict. Linked with Stella Stevens.
Lewis, Daniel Day. Formerly with Isabelle Adjani--broke up with her by fax (what a jerk). Vain and "eccentric." Reported drug user. Philanderer. Linked with Rebecca Miller, Sinead O'Connor, Julia Roberts, Winona Ryder, and Greta Scacchi.
Houston, Whitney. Shrill and unpleasant. Hygienically challenged. Was notoriously, infamously unpleasant and hard to work with on the set of Waiting To Exhale. Closeted L_____; married to Bobby Brown, and almost deserves such a fate. Battered wife. Alcoholic and drug abuser. Breast implants. Linked to Enrique Iglesias, Robert De Niro and Kelly McGillis.
Hawn, Goldie. "Close to 60 and dresses like a 20-year-old hooker." Hygienically challenged. Linked with Kurt Russell; lets him cat around on her due to low self-esteem. $cientologist. Couldn't stand Bette Midler on First Wives Club set. Linked with Warren Beatty.
Midler, Bette. "Self centered bitch with an incredibly foul mouth; called her backup singers "stupid c---s" over an open mike during pre show rehersal." Loves to hang out with gay men and is reported to have said that she considers herself a gay man.

They nabbed Travolta right away, he was one of their first "big-gets" back in '75.

Just for my job Amber. Goldie and Susan were over promoting the movie The Banger Sisters.
I thought Goldie seemed fake, in her appearance and like she was putting on a show - not naturally bubbly. She did seem nice though. Susan Sarandon on the other hand seemed down to earth and very smart. I don't think either was very happy about the movie though, so Goldie may have been trying to put a positive face on to get through it all.
Perhaps. Every time I see her she looks like that, I saw her on Oprah with Susan, and following Elephants around India, or something. But maybe she was different that time.

Hopkins, Anthony. Recovering alcoholic. Reportedly into heavy S&M. Linked with Kim Basinger, Tom Cruise, and Emma Thompson.
About the links, as far as I know, one true, one urban legend during a certain Oscar night, and one false. It could have been worse.
Thompson, Emma. Graceful ex-wife to Kenneth Branagh. For some years she tested Stephen Fry's celibate gay status by parading naked in front of him. Bisexual. Linked with Anthony Hopkins & Jonathan Pryce.
80% true
Usher. Diva.
Ok, he's not a favourite, but last night at the EMA's he's been very graceful. He was on stage some minutes before his performance with Alicia Keys, and in the dark, stayed on pose and looked straight to the fans to let them take nice pictures.

This isn't quite as filthy but I enjoyed hearing recently from Colin Firth's PR herself, that Colin despises Hugh Grant and loathed having to work with him again on Bridget Jones 2, but had to because of contractual reasons.
Apparently Colin is very reserved and sweet and a proper family man in real life, but Hugh is obnoxious and truly sleazy. Apparently he openly talks about brothels and stuff like that and can be quite explicit, which Colin hates.
Recently someone asked Colin what he thought about the rumour that Hugh Grant may be retiring, and he responded "We can only hope and pray" but Colin wasn't joking, he really meant it! ha!

Oh I agree, he's very tall in real life too. Very dashing indeed.
have you seen the size of his head? Actually, i don't really remember ever having seen him in a movie, so, whatever. I just looked him up on google and noticed his enormous head and weird features. maybe he's better on the screen.

Everyone knows Kevin Spacey is gay of course. Someone I used to work with once woke up and Spacey was in his flat after spending the night with his flatmate (he was over here working in the West End). Spacey likes 'em young (not in an illegal sense I stress) and pretty I hear.
From the many things I've heard, Spacey was sexually abused as a child and tries to hide his sexuality from everyone he encounters.

Usher. Diva.
Ok, he's not a favourite, but last night at the EMA's he's been very graceful. He was on stage some minutes before his performance with Alicia Keys, and in the dark, stayed on pose and looked straight to the fans to let them take nice pictures.
Romy
I met him a bunch of times before he was famous. He was a nice kid. :)

 You'd think that after all these years the married gambit would stop working for these guys ya know? I mean Rock Hudson was married for a bit...and umm..well he's the one I know most about...
Anyway - yeah this article was talking about a leading hollywood man who was hitting on all sorts of boys on a set - but people starting talking - so they got his wife on location with him - and they were then totally all over each other (in attempt to squelch gay rumours...)...I was dying to know who they were talking about...haha..I'm finding this thread highly entertaining....

I do wonder if Travolta's in denial though. Like Dissention said Scientology is known for helping to "cure" homosexuals
Scientology is one dangerous cult. Many European countries actually list it as a cult. I've written a lot of articles about it and have gone to many meetings and trust me, it is some of the scariest and freakiest **** I've ever seen. And these were all meetings that you have to go to before you can even become a clam. They are dangerous.

Carter, Helena Bonham. "Dresses like an old homeless woman and has the worst breath you've ever smelled." "Whines when male co-stars don't make passes at her." Home-wrecker (with the husbands' help, of course). Broke up Kenneth Branagh's marriage to Emma Thompson, broke up Tim Burton's marriage, and was also linked with Steve Martin. (  )
Carey, Mariah. A certain problem with faithfulness and hygiene. Her early career was funded by her sister's prostitution. Very difficult to work with, and very unpleasant to fans. (Although, as is par for the course here, I've received some e-mails contradicting this). "Has a staff member remove her tampons during concerts". Has breast implants. Linked to P. Bush, George W. Recovering drunkard (and probably a dry drunk) and cokehead. Not the brightest bulb in the lamp, and in fact couldn’t spell cat if you gave him the “c” and the “a.” The best argument against participatory democracy I know. Hypocritical moralist; Bill Clinton without the brains. Funded a girlfriend's abortion. At odds with his wife over how to treat his daughters' alcoholism. Believes (according to his own words) that only "believers in Jesus" will go to Heaven. Given his performance since being elected, it's now clear that the man is either a pathological liar or holds the American public in such contempt that he doesn't even bother to make his lies credible.

Yeah, but here's the gist:
-Broderick despises Nicole Kidman
-The shoot went on for months and months and months and months because no one got along
-The script changed every day
-They shot four or five endings and only picked one a week before it opened
-Bette Midler was a holy terror towards her stunt double and almost punched her because the double took direction form the director instead of Bette ( )
-Bette made tons of the actresses break down in tears when they were shooting a pool scene. She took one look at all the women in their swimsuits and said she'd rather look like a fat cow than those anorexic bimbos. (  )
-Glenn Close was a doll
-Christopher Walken got very involved with his character and got on everyone's nerves and once got into a physical fight with the director
-The scenes between Kidman and Broderick took forever to put together because he hated her so much that once a scene was finished, he'd go back to New York and they'd have to convince him to come back.
I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff, though. I've told it a million times to Goldie and Strand, maybe they can fill in the blanks.

I've heard different things about Bette, who I absolutely adore regardless. She's supposedly a very nice but insecure person who gets really bossy and grouchy when she thinks a project is going bad. I, personally, have respect for anyone who does as much work for AIDS, children, and the environment as she does, no matter how bitchy they can be.
Supposedly, Geraldo Rivera tried to seduce her back in the late-seventies and she balked, so he tried to force himself on her. She ended up beating the **** out of him, so he retaliated by writing a book about their "affair." And I've heard some stories about her and John Holmes, too.
Nicole is supposedly nice, but very shy and keeps to herself. Maybe that's why he couldn't stand her, because she didn't interact much.

Recently someone asked Colin what he thought about the rumour that Hugh Grant may be retiring, and he responded "We can only hope and pray" but Colin wasn't joking, he really meant it! ha!
They just had an article on Colin Firth's fans in the newspaper. It said he was a very upstanding, family man and most of his fans were older women who like to read and are sophisticated. LOL Anyways, that's too funny about him hating Hugh Grant. They just seem like total opposites. I like Colin, he's a cutie.

He recently tried to sue a male porn star for $100 million. That suit never got off the gorund because he couldn't refute any of the claims.
The name of the porn star who claimed to have had an affair with him was Tommy Cruise!
Actually, Cruise did win the lawsuit... though at considerably less than $100 million (he won only $10 million).
And the porn star's name wasn't Tommy Cruise actually, it was Kyle Bradford (aka Chad Slater). :)

I, personally, have respect for anyone who does as much work for AIDS, children, and the environment as she does, no matter how bitchy they can be.
I tend to think of Bette in the same regards as I do Elton John: it's commendable that they donate money and time to various important causes, but I'd be far more impressed if they were actually decent to EVERYONE, not just who they want to be kind to, or not just when it's convenient.
Being a philanthropic tyrant is kind of like going to church on Sunday, and then being an S.O.B. the rest of the week.

To be honest, my view of him soured when he sued that gay porn star for ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS.
I mean, come on, those guys don't make that kind of money. Those guys don't even make the 10 million dollars Cruise did win.
Why bankrupt someone because you can't handle a little rumour that certainly hasn't damaged your career one bit? He needs to get over himself.
Plus, I always think it's disgusting when a guy dumps his wife for another woman.

And beyond being straight or gay, Tom Cruise has no personality that I've been able to discern. His acting skills, in my opinion, are minimal. Of course there are stories that he owes the start of his career to David Geffen way back when Geffen's film company produced Risky Business--talk about the Gay Mafia--I'm pretty sure that Geffen would be the head Don of that group.
I love gossip. I adore it. I'm totally addicted to all the good internet gossip sites, plus I read the very finest of tabloids. And then there are those Hollywood biographies--God I love reading dirt about the stars, esp. from the golden, oldie days of yore. Just finished the new biography of Cary Grant by Marc Elliott--pretty interesting stuff in that one.

He dumped Nicole Kidman and took up with Penelope Cruz in record time, and all reports were that he and Cruz had hooked up before the breakup with Kidman.
Who knows though? Sure seems odd for a marriage to break up and a new relationship just springs up out of thin air in two weeks' time.
As for the lawsuit... yeah, I see what you're saying. But there's making a point, and then there's financially crippling someone.
Worst thing of all... there was even proof that that kid never made the affair claims that the British tabloid attributed to him. So he's innocent AND out $10 million dollars... thanks to a thin-skinned actor who can't handle a few rumours.

That rumour started almost the second Tom Cruise hit the big screen. He has a slight build, he's effeminate around the edges, and he's "pretty"... it was an inevitable rumour.
What happened with the lawsuit, was that a British tabloid-style gay magazine published an article about a gay porn actor named Kyle Bradford. In the article a quote was attributed to Bradford claiming that he and Cruise had had a long-standing affair.
Cruise filed a lawsuit, despite the fact that Bradford claimed he never made those comments.
But Tom didn't drop the suit, even after the British mag admitted that the quote was false, and he ended up winning a lesser settlement.

well, it's not incredibly tall, it's probably that thing where people, from seeing him on the screen, thought he was tall, then when they met him were suprised he was not of godlike height  I think he has proportionately short legs, and his hips are wide for a man. :) I learned that in my Tom Cruise masters program.. ;) then we took it up again in my "Defending Tom Cruise" class... :woohoo:

That reminds me of something Justin Guarini said about Kelly Clarkson on the American Idol video. He was kind of hosting a special thing for it, and they gave him a video camera, he goes into the room with Kelly and Nikki as they are getting their makeup done. He focuses in on Kelly and says really quietly "Isn't she beautiful? And the best thing is....she doesn't even know it."

When Cruise was on the Parkinson show over here about 2 months ago, Michael Parkinson is about 5'11"-6'0" and Cruise was a good 2 or three inches shorter and he had bout 1 inch heels on his shoes (I remember because I wanted to see if the "short" rumour was true when I watched the show).
So I would guess Cruise is about 5'9" possibly 5'10".

I don't think you get anywhere in Hollywood without an ego the size of a State, however, everytime I've seen Cruise do anything in the UK he's always been polite, respectful and well mannered. Plus he always takes his time and meets all the fans in Leicester Square before his premieres.. Amber, I'm happy for you if he does it for you, but he just doesn't do it for me. Any movie I've ever seen him in wasn't that great, in fact, they weren't very good at all--and in fact, some were just flat-out terrible (Eyes Wide Shut is one of the few films I've walked out on).
In another era, he'd have been called a matinee idol. He just doesn't do films that are that "deep". Yeah, yeah, Rain Man was a great film, but that was all Dustin Hoffman. And the other film with Jack Nicholson was, well, all about Jack. He's okay if he's got a bunch of other big names (read, real actors) to focus on instead of him but if a film is built around him, I know to avoid it like the plague.
And while you feel he's got a personality, I don't. Maybe it's because of the Scientology thing, maybe it's the stories about how he tries to control his press coverage, maybe it's because of the gay rumors thing, but I just don't see a "real" person there when I see him in interviews. I see someone who desperately wants to try and convince the interviewer (and audience) that he's a "normal" guy. In short, if Tom Cruise is in a film or on a TV interview show, I'm most likely to flip the channel and do it as quick as I can get my hands on the remote.
Give me Sean Penn or Nic Cage any day, actors of his own generation who are 100% more interesting to watch any day of the week, and upon reflection, are just about as strange. :)

For once, I just want him to forget about sending his monthly check to that cult so that they get pissed and reveal all about his E-Meter sessions. Enough gay porn would come out of one session to last the queer community until Armageddon.

I don't like Sean Penn or Nick Cage. I think they're ugly. And one of them can't act. (nick) and they're both known as a-holes in real life, specially nick. Tom is know as a nice guy. But, whatever. I agree that tom isn't the best actor, but he does very well in certain types of roles. he really kicked it out in interview with a vampire. And really, most other roles. I think he knows how to pick good material for himself. And i think he's veeeery charismatic. I disagree he has to be surrounded by better actors, i think he holds his own just fine. Really well, in fact. The only role I thought wasn't good for him was eyes wide shut. What about Born on the 4th of July? good in that. Whatevah, there is too much tom hate for me to counter. did you know he saved a kids life? I just invariably enjoy him in a role. (not eyes wide shut, though). I think he brings a lot to the table.

Physically attractive :
Halle Berry
Natalie Portman
Sandra Bullock
Kylie Minogue
Natasha Kaplinsky (UK newsreader) :D :p

People I find have an attractive personality and that I would like to talk/listen to are :

Bill Clinton
Tom Cruise
Billy Connolly
Michael Palin
Ewan McGregor
Eddie Irvine (Ex F1 driver)
Peter Kay (UK comedian)
Natasha Kaplinsky (again)

I'm no Tom fan and I don't really get all the hoopla about him, but, I've heard wonderful things about him from various places. He did some radio promotion for Collateral and treated our local DJ's with much respect. Not alot of celebs do that. :( Also, in the interview, Tom was very nice and personable.
Another person who I don't care for...John Travolta...is ALWAYS nice to the local DJ's. He even rapped part of "I Need Love" (I think that's the title), an LL Cool J song. I was like  when I heard him doing that! LOL

I think everyone should be suspicious of anyone who is involved in Scientology. The clams in that church will brainwash you, rob you blind, and torture you mentally until you crack. I have no respect for any celebrity who preaches about the "miracles" of that "religion." The thing wasn't even a "religion" until the 80s and L. Ron Hubbard, the idiot who invented Dianetics and Scientology, publicly stated that the just wanted to form a religion so he didn't have to pay taxes. AND - he was a satanist.

Dawn of the Dead is really good. Anything with Sarah Polley, Jake Weber, and Ving Rhames is bound to be watchable, but I thought it was phenomenal. I don't like modern horror because those movies always star teeny bopper idols, but this was a true horror flick with real actors and no kids. It had some truly funny bits in it, too. Well, I don't know anyone that thinks smoking is a good idea, but I do know a lot of smokers, most regret starting but it's difficult to quit it. They are trying to push through a law in the UK that bans smoking in all public places. I agree to ban it in the street, parks etc. But I think it's fine in bars and clubs. The anti smoking lobbyists want it banned in bars too because of the effect on the health of the workers... I say you know the score when you take the job.. yeah, we just all stand outside. The bar i used to work at in Berkeley had a thing in their upstairs bar for awhile, they had ventilation, so people could smoke a bit up there. It was still against the law, though, so i don't know how they managed. they stopped that, though. And in Chico, a couple bars you could still smoke in, but had to be on watch for the ABC (regulatory people who would check for underage people, and smoking, and whatever other things are against the law). Also, in one chico bar, there is a "back room" that people can smoke in  there is just a tiny hallway that connects it with the main bar, so i don't know what's up with that, but...

And a Korean place, which i won't eat at, every since i read how about in Korea they torture the dogs before they eat them because it makes the meat taste better. yeah, i know, that was in Korea, and they are here now, but still.
Maybe the fast food standards are higher here because so many people eat at them, and there are so many

well, California is the land of health, and healthy people need freedoms too. But point taken. That's weird about McDonalds. And gross about the thumbprint! don't they have the warming receptacles there? Anyway, though, a country that doesn't embrace fast food, and do it well, is all right by me! I swear, you can't get away from it here!
Yes, I know the US fast food culture is something inescapable, it's getting worse over here too. Another KFC near my home, next to McDonalds.. We have that problem but not quite as bad. Wagamamas noodle bars are cool over here though, not too expensive and the food is reasonably healthy. Chinese and Indian food takeouts still rule the UK over pizzas and burgers but things are changing, as are waistlines..
The government is trying to educate healthy eating due to a massive rise in obesity in schoolkids which is a great approach rather than ignoring the issue  .

She's been one of my faves for years. Something about her when she's onscreen just makes me happy. One of her best movies is Liberty Stands Still, which I heartily recommend.

The sex scene in Peter Berg's car was hot.
And that ending! What an ice queen. She can drop by anytime.

isn't she kinetic? And she can flash the bitchy/disdain in her eyes like no one since Bette Davis! Pisces, by the way...

You know who else I'm oddly attracted to? Sally Kirkland. She was in a movie called "Anna" back in the 80s (for which she should have won an Oscar) and I found her weirdly seductive. She can't dress or accessorize for **** and her breasts alone weigh more than me, but I still like her.

that is kind of weird, but actually, not really. She's kind of hot. pretty good actress as far as i can tell. I tried to look up for more info, but was directed to a bunch of nude pics...Reese was there, and Gwyneth  I've never seen "Anna" . lol@her breasts.

You should see "Anna," it only proves how stupid Academy voters really are. She was nominated for it, but ended up losing. Next to Ellen Burstyn in Requiem For A Dream, it's one of the best performances by any actress. She plays a famous Russian actress who moves to New York to make it big in America, but can't get a job. A Russian girl approaches her one day, can't speak any English because she's an immigrant, and tells her what a fan she is of her Russian movies. She takes her in and teaches her English, gets her jobs, but then the girl starts stealing Kirkland's jobs and sleeping with her boyfriend/manager, etc. It's a truly great film. The ending is heartbreaking!!!

I think Linda's role in Dogma was dreadful, though. She really needs a bunch of star vehicles where she doesn't have to pretend to be nice, a la Bette Davis. She is phenomenal in those roles.
