I am way too drunk for me or my stomach to handle this.

At least I got to see a little bit of Alan Keyes' psycho gesticulation and Bible pontification.

the Senate thread:

Is Keyes high or just incredibly stupid???

He was so full-uv-it that my 2 cats laying on the bed starting to laugh out loud at him!

What a 'tard!

Faux/NBC both brought up something that could possibly happen depending on if Kerry can win Ohio and a few other states and if Bush wins a few...The scenario they both explained could lead to a Kerry 269 Bush 269 electorial vote tie, Which would then go to the house for the vote that would decide the presidency, Which Bush would win since the Repubs have control of the House...

I do not want to see THAT happen.

Okay, I'm coming out of lurkdom because I'm getting a glimmer of hope...

Washington has been called for Kerry (11 votes), bringing him up to 199.

Other states leaning Kerry's way:

Oregon - 7
Nevada - 5
Wisconsin - 7
Minnesota - 10
Iowa - 10
Michigan - 17
TOTAL: 56

If Kerry wins these states (and my math is correct) he's at 255! Only 15 more needed!

Unless he pulls, as of now about 350,000 votes in Florida, which he has systematically been unable to do essentially all night, I cannot see Jerry winning in Florida even considering the alleged advance votes and the absentee ballots (again, the margin of W's win has stayed fairly much the same all night). As for Ohio, it is too soon to tell.

If Bush wins (legitimately or illegitimately), I predict it's a matter of months until the next major terrorist attack on mainland U.S.A.

Wonder how many people will be re-thinking their vote after that.
And what a damned shame that it would have to take another catastrophe for people to realize what a detriment he's been to our country and our safety.

Keeping in mind that some brick-heads will STILL support him, even after that. God help me, but I'm starting to think CarneVaca was right... this country will practically have to be in utter ruins before the people of the good ol' U.S. of A. realize the error of their self-centeredness and arrogance.

Bush 266
Kerry 211

the chance of his winning is growing more certain :(

is if Kerry doesnt win Ohio Bush is 1 electoral vote away from victory...Which of course makes me think of the lil' skit on the Jon Stewart show tonight whereas Bush helps the recruitment of terrorist worldwide, Which is NOT funny!

If he wins...We're screwed!

I am flipping thru show that Kerry already has California Electoral votes, But he needs Ohio or otherwise Bush will need only 1 state to win...And Alaska is being rumored to be going to Bush which could push him over the 270 electoral votes he needs to win a majority.

Sad :(

Did you read that article in the NY Times a few weeks ago (in the Sunday Mag. I think) where it went on and on about how significant R's think it is okay to freely spend the resources of the world because the end days are coming and who cares what we will need in 50 to 100 years. I know that sounds crazy, but the DOCUMENTED it. I do not have the article - but it sickened me.

I saw a special on CNN (i think) last weekend on some of these fanatical freaks who are hoping that the end is near so they and their children can experience it! And according to them, all they have to believe is that Jesus is their Lord and Savior, and they will go to heaven... and anyone that doesn't belive that will go to hell. So apparently, you can lie, cheat, steal and murder, but as long as you believe that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, you've got a free ticket to "paradise"!

CNN projects Republicans will retain control of the House of Representatives.

Okay, I'm getting my passport in order first thing tomorrow... so I'm ready to get the hell out of here!

That's what it will take. And you know what the response will be ? "Oh, it's all God's plan."

Keeping in mind that some brick-heads will STILL support him, even after that. God help me, but I'm starting to think CarneVaca was right... this country will practically have to be in utter ruins before the people of the good ol' U.S. of A. realize the error of their self-centeredness and arrogance.

Of course that's what it will take. A two by four, embedded with a rusty nail, slammed into their foreheads.

"Faith is a hard thing to hold onto...."

"Faith", as it is commonly understood by the majority of this country, is the problem.

With the numbers at this moment here is what could happen:

If Bush wins Ohio, He will be 1 Electoral vote short of a majority at 269 Electoral votes

If Kerry loses Ohio he will have to win all the remaining states and will end up with 269 Electoral votes

Kerry HAS to win OHIO!!! Has to...

The 1.6 million number are early votes that supposedly have not yet been counted. I've hear anywhere between 90-250,000 absentee ballots. Add them together, there could be a very different outcome in Florida.

Here is a song lyric that fits the perversion of religion:

"How can this be?
Why is he the chosen one

Saint gone astray
With a scepter and a gun

Learn to believe
In the mighty and the strong

Come bleed the beast
Follow me it won't be long

Listen when the prophet

I'm angry and disappointed, but I can't say I'm truly surprised. So many people are convinced that Papa Bush is gonna protect us from the big, bad, unknown evils, that they didn't pay attention to the fact that he's eroding our country at a rapid pace.

Sadly, that fact will become nearly impossible to ignore in the coming months though.

Anyway, this is all disappointing, but it's just all the more reason why we need to continue our quest to improve this country, and get it out from under the thumbs of the war-mongering, job-outsourcing, economy-ruining, Bible-thumping hypocrites.
We have four years to work towards taking the NEXT election from the right-wing conservatives, and we better make the best of that time.

I'm sorry to hear your relationship didn't work out. :(

I think the romance-issue tends to be a "grass is always greener" kind of thing. Many single people would love to be in a relationship, and many coupled people would love to be single.

I've been single for quite some time now though. I enjoy it, but I'd like to have a "special someone" in my life.
I had a way-too-hard time getting over a relationship a couple years ago, but I'm more than ready to try my hand at dating again.

(Oh, and I understand where you're coming from... but every relationship, good or bad, is a learning experience. Which sounds like a bunch of bull to you right now, I'm sure. But I think you'll realize it at some point. :) )

Masochistic ? No. The majority are not even sophisticated enough to define that word. The right words are STUPID and FEARFUL.

Masochistic ? No. The majority are not even sophisticated enough to define that word. The right words are STUPID and FEARFUL.

I feel so disheartened. And angry at all the people who have forced us to endure four more years of brutality, corruption and insensitivity.

It's just got to go to Kerry. If he gets those 20 electoral votes, he wins!!

Unfortunately, it doesn't look good for Kerry. The margin of votes already counted is probably too large to change once the provisional ballots are counted. I'm so angry and disheartened I can hardly even put my thoughts in order. Heaven help us all in the next four years...

I had to go to bed last night, I couldn't handle the stress.

If Bush does indeed win, I will pray every night that he reinstates the draft, that the economy plunges into a recession, and that the Patriot Act becomes more intrusive. Only then will people wake up...but maybe not, especially hwen you take into consideration the idiots who live here.

Draft their children, Mr. Bush, you will have free reign to do whatever you want for four years.

I never in a million years thought that could have as much hate in my heart as I do now. Call me an unhappy, ugly person, I don't care. But I have so much disdain and hatred and disgust for the Republican party that it's eating me up.

That being said, I'm confident about Ohio. :wavey:

Unfortunate for half of America, I have to say, don't expect the world to look upon you too favourably by tomorrow.......or next week or whatever it is. Seems the majority prefer to embrace relationships of bullying and dominance (not to mention the odd invasion) over friendly, respectful world relations. Too bad for most of the world, too bad for most of you. Seems we all lose. So are Americans masochistic by nature then?

You took the words right out of my American mouth, Lux. This whole thing is making me sick.

I'm thinking about moving - I have family in Bulgaria, and I'm really close to Canada. Hmmmmm....where to go, where to go

. . . I never in a million years thought that could have as much hate in my heart as I do now. Call me an unhappy, ugly person, I don't care. But I have so much disdain and hatred and disgust for the Republican party that it's eating me up.

I know - but I have to make myself rise above it or it will consume me. I mean I found it hard to leave the house because earlier I drove by some faux blonde bobbed [brand of ketchup] in her SUV with her "W The President" sticker and wanted to rip the MOTHER FUC*&ING cell phone out of her hand and slap the living shi*t out of her and then gag her and make her watch videos of Iranian babies being blown apart  I, of course did not do this and never would, but I think that is what it would take to awaken these idiotic people who really think "I'm voting R because I want to be considered part of the elite and what's a few 1,000 black American soldiers' lives when I can get into the country club - plus, my minister, who is in the club, told me Jesus wanted it that way and that all Muslims are evil"

Mercifully, I am better now (after about a 10 mile run  ) and am trying to be a polite, non-sore loser, which is not easy. May I return to my relative sanity soon.

As for the next four years. Sighs - I guess it will just have to be the fight is was for the last four years. AND - even if Kerry had won, it still would have been a fight - so there we have it.

I agree, but I know people whose ministers preached it from the pulpit for weeks before the election and the R party sent memos to the Churches (mostly fundamentalist ones) asking that they scare the hell out of their parishoners so that they get out and vote for the divinely blessed W. Not to mention Pat Robertson, Jerry Fallwell, and other national miniters have said exactly that. So, I was coming from a place of truth with that.

Look--us old-timers made it through 12 years of back-to-back Repug presidents (Reagan x 2 then Bush the Elder)--we can make it through another four of the Chimp's.

We've got AAR. We've got Media Matters. We've got the Democratic Underground. We've got passion. We know that hate is NOT a Family Value and that it will never be. And most importantly, we know that we are right and it's only a matter of time before the people of this country wake up and realize what we already know. W stands for WRONG.

You're right. We lost the media when Reagan began comparing liberals to flashers and calling us dirty, etc. and turned it into a dirty word.

I'm sorry, all. I don't know what to say right now.

Me, too.

I would just like to say thank you to all my fellow liberal friends on the board, hell, all the liberals and Democrats who supported us so much in defeating Bush across the country. I love you all for one reason or another and you alone make me proud to be an American. Your tireless support for Kerry was heartwarming and we can never be accused of not wanting the best for this country. We didn't achieve what we wanted, but they are on borrowed time. We will regain control of the Senate, we will block his judicial nominations, and we will prevail. Stand up straight, lift your head up high, and let everyone know where your loyalties lie. Much love to everyone, gay, straight, black, white, brown, yellow. WE WILL PREVAIL.

Now I know what "Frozen Love" means...Brrrrrrrrrrr

Sorry to disappear on everyone yesterday, But the "Backwood Retard" neighbor of our decided to make us freeze our asses off by backing his "Illegally" parked Semi-truck into our electric line, Thus ripping off our back porch and taking the electricity with it...Can ya say Wednesday was a GREAT day in our household??

Dont know what I missed since yesterday morning (Besides heat!!!) so hopefully someone can fill me in on what I missed in my "human frozen pop-sickle" state of existence.
