Rumours Song Survivor Game

[GypsySorcerer]

I'm very surprised that so many people are voting off NGBA. I think it's a great song, showcasing Lindsey's guitar style. My second-favorite Lindsey song on the album after SHN.

- Jake

I like it too, but it's next to go on my list (assuming YMLF leaves.) It's much better live IMO.

It's a good song...just not as good as some of the other stuff...some of which has already been voted off you heartless jerks

LOL just kidding.

[Violet]

You Make Loving Fun. Again!

Carol

[Bryan]

I vote Dreams

[Keith]

shouldn't win.. but it shouldn't be booted off so quickly... "dreams" along with "go your own way" and "don't stop" are why "rumours" sold millions and millions.. it's a classic.. "dreams" shouldn't be the last to survive - "Go Your Own Way" "Gold Dust Woman" "Songbird" and "the Chain" are much better songs.. but it's too early for her departure.. from this masterpiece where every track fits perfectly into the next.. i pick "i don't want to know" which is probably already gone...because I'm listening to Hootie and the Blowfish..

[GypsySorcerer]

YMLF. Why Songbird got voted off before this, I'll never know.

[rezamatic]

You Make Loving Fun will be my vote until it's gone

[HomerMcvie]

Round 6: Still going with Gold Dust Woman........(Homer, you still agree?)

Decapitate the misguided power pop of "Second Hand News" in favour of the Grande Esoterica of "Dreams", the faux-macho swagger of "Go Your Own Way", the looking-at-each-other-singing-through-their-teeth calculation of "The Chain", the limp entirely-devoid-of-balls funk of "You Make Loving Fun", the dying dog howls of "Gold Dust Woman" and the ultimate piece of posed Soap Opera that is "Silver Springs". Man, does this band ever suck. ;)

[golddustwoman77]

Dreams

Its getting harder now.

[77Rumours77]

umm......SHN. Yea!

[dissention]

Dreams. Blah.

[wondergirl9847]

I could have SWORN it was still on the list. :sorry:

I vote for Silver Springs I guess since it isn't on the original Rumours and the 1975 (?) live version is the greatest EVAH.

[HomerMcvie]

Gold Dust Woman, again.
Curtis, now that Chris' songs are gone :distress: , I will be waffling no more.
Bite the dust Gold Dust Woman!

[ShamHy89]

YMLF dissapears before Dreams or SHN? What is the world coming to indeed.

Dreams

[golden braid]

Now that YMLF is gone my pick is DREAMS

[rezamatic]

Round 7 - Gotta go with "Dreams" because although I like the song, I hate having to sit through it second on every set list :-)

Looks like "Chain" is the only one without any votes so far, if my memory serves me correctly...

[Violet]

It's getting tough now....
I'll go with Dreams for this round.

Interesting that every single vote so far this round is for a Stevie song. (Dissention, what happened to your theory that the Stevie fanatics come out in swarms to affect these votes? ;) )
I'm holding off so I can vote strategically. I love GDW, Dreams, SHN, and The Chain.

(Dissention, what happened to your theory that the Stevie fanatics come out in swarms to affect these votes? ;) )

To be honest, I think it's going to be a toss-up between Gold Dust Woman and The Chain at the end. One of those will win. ;)

Personally, I'd like to see Go Your Own Way win. Originally, I was rooting for NGBA, but that was thrown out. However, if Silver Springs wins, I will flip a turkey.

[Lala]

Dreams *typing more so that there will be enough friggin characters for me to post even though I don't have anything else to say*

[golddustwoman77]

"Gold Dust Woman" is my vote; quite unhappily, I might add! :(

[Nightbird_Brett]

I'm going with Dreams too. I hope SS, SHN, or GDW wins.

[darklinensuit]

I'm voting for Second Hand News just to save GDW and Dreams.

[dissention]

I'm voting for Second Hand News just to save GDW and Dreams.

- Jake

Good luck, Dreams needs all the saving it can get. :p :wavey:

[amber]

I'm having a little trouble. If Silver Springs didn't have that beautiful part on the end with Stevie doing harmony with herself, (and the others) and the yelling, and the oh oh oh oh o ah ah ah ah ah ah aaahh ah ah ah etc, It would be gone right now. I'm deciding to choose between dreams and GDW, and am gonna say, Did You See This Crystal Vision, Dreams? you're outta here!!! :o I gotta keep GDW, partially cause it is the only Fleetwood Mac song that my mom LOVES. Here's ta you, mom!
Amber

[Cristian]

Booo... No more Christine songs. :(

SECOND HAND NEWS

Because I want "Gold Dust Woman" to win.

[77Rumours77]

I think her vocals are too airy for that type of song.

-Curtis

I say go your own way to

"Go Your Own Way"

Yeah, "Dreams" is waaayyyy overplayed and burnt out, buy GYOW is even MORE tired.

[face of glass]

SHN (=Shorten). "Second Hand News". I'm not tired of "Dreams" 'cos I've never heard it on the radio :p), in a same way that I'm not tired of "Don't Stop". I didn't vote for Clinton, I voted for Ahtisaari!

Goodbye Gold Dust Woman. Again.
Isn't it odd that the Chain didn't get ANY votes. Do I smell a winner?

Yes, I agree. "Silver Springs" is my vote.

[Vianna]

Sorry-GYOW has to go..

[golden braid]

I'm going with Silver Springs this time since it wasn't on the album originally.

[rezamatic]

I agree with everyone. Silver Springs -- although I think the older live versions are better when Stevie could really bust loose in those final moments -- wasn't an official part of this whole Rumours experience. That's my vote.

[darklinensuit]

Finally I can vote my conscience again.

GO YOUR OWN WAY. (Please. Get it out this round & I will not criticize Old Blackdress for three months.)

Silver Springs. In addition to the fact I don't think it belongs here, I don't like the studio version anyway. It's much better on The Dance.

[face of glass]

"Silver Springs". :wavey:
Who listens to the original anymore...
I do. No cd version or 5:1 mix can ever replace the resonance of Stevie's vocal on the vinyl "Gold Dust Woman" anyway.

[Violet]

My vote is GYOW.

True, Silver Springs was not on the original, but it SHOULD have been, and I refuse to vote for it! :o

Carol

[Lala]

Gold Dust Woman

[ShamHy89]

Just because I agree that Silver Springs doesn't belong here, I will cast my vote for it. With that gone, we can see who survives from the actual Rumours album. (Which, in my opinion, will be the Chain.)

What a sorry excuse for a competition this has been. Chris' songs get booted first, then GYOW got kept instead of Silver Springs, then GYOW gets booted for GDW (by ONE vote!!!! ) and GDW is in the running to win  WHATEVER! And the version that's actually on there is probably the worst one there is.Both versions on the bonus disc on remastered Rumours are so much better.
(Has been fun though ;) )

My vote to win is The Chain. It's a band song. Not to mention the fact that I love it.

[BellaDonna98]

The Chain should win!

Man, oh man, oh man-----what to do?????? I love both of these songs beyond all reason. The Chain is just so representative of everything that Fleetwood Mac is. But I do love the howling that Stevie does at the end of GDW. (Flips coin). . . okay--The Chain it is.

I actually didn't vote because I couldn't decide. I really want to do Tusk next. But even more I want to do the Say You Will tour songs. That should be really fun.
