View Full Version : What TV Personality can you not stand?

Is there some news anchor or talk show host or someone that just gets under your skin? Who is it?
I'll go first. Two words- Wayne Brady! He is the most annoying person ever to grace my tv screen! I can't stand to listen to him talk and he is always too happy and I hate his singing voice. I want to puke whenever he is on tv. I watch this show that comes on right before the "Wayne Brady Show" and if I forget to turn the tv off I have to run to the tv and switch the channel before I get too stressed out. I have never loathed a celeb like this before. I'd be scared for my health if I was forced to watch an entire Wayne Brady episode.
Anyone else have a celeb that gets under their skin?

Raquel and Mickey would be at the top of that list, eh?
I was thinking more of cable news-types. If you want more, though:
-Katie Couric (her brow lift couldn't be more obvious)
-Bryant Gumble (crawl into a sewer and die)
-Stone Phillips (get that lock-jaw looked at by a medical professional and enroll in speech therapy)
-Matt Lauer (he looks like he tried to get a skinhead makeover and it backfired)
-Anyone from HSN (botox, the best friend of middle-aged women)
-Charles Gibson (does he have Parkinson's?)
-Again, Geraldo Rivera (that moustache of his looks like the ass of a rat, which he probably found in Capone's vault  )
-Oprah (get your stomach stapled once and for all, your yo-yo-ing weight drives me nucking futs)
-Dr. Phil (he dispenses weight loss advice as if we wanted to look like him; a real jack-ass with a wife who's had so much plastic surgery that she can't cross her legs without her mouth opening)
-Giuliana (the b*tch from E! with the saucer eyes and Barbara Hershey a la Beaches lips)
That's it. :wavey:

Don't even get me started on Kathie "For the Children" Lee. I saw her ons ome Christian cable network a few weeks ago and threw up so much for so long that I had to have an intravenous tube administered on my person. That voice of hers would make God shudder. If you turn the tv off they stop annoying you. I sound like some sort of patronising, re-born bookworm, healer person. I can assure you I'm not, I haven't read a book in years. But I also haven't watched television in ages and coincidently have stopped throwing things towards the screen as an involuntary protest.
It's not as easy as it sounds though. Like I love watching Days of Our Lives which comes on right before Wayne Brady. So if I forget to turn the tv off after DOOL I'm in danger.

Aiieee! The curse of the soap opera. I went to an all girls school and came to the conclusion that I was the only one there who didn't watch soap operas. In one class the teacher would even spend the first five minutes chatting with us about the latest in whatever show it was. I can't stand soap operas! Is there something wrong with me?
You're lucky, trust me. There is nothing wrong with you. I have become obsessed and have spent way too much money joining fan clubs, buying magazines, eBay, a dvd recorder, purchasing DOOL tapes, I am ashamed!
Soap Operas are evil, evil!

Ha...ironically, I went black clothing shopping yesterday (no, ass. it did not include thongs). I'm sure they can deal without me for an evening. Unless it's Tuesday. It's only myself and one other person there. Oh well.

When I was growing up my best friend had his bar mitzvah with Joan's niece. Joan's sister (the mother) is (was?) a Philly attorney who was pretty nice and looked like Joan would look if she ate food and skipped the plastic surgeon. we used to bump into this woman regularly.
And at least in those days, Joan used to spend the High Holidays at this synagogue. I never saw her, but I'm told she was the size of a wasp.

Maury-total and complete a$$. Does anyone actually watch his shows?
Jerry Springer-a long time ago he was actually a halfway decent Mayor of Cincinnati and a TV anchor. When his talk show first started out in Cincy it was good-serious topics. I was in the audience for the taping of shows on school prayer and gambling.
Seems like once he moved to Chicago he started with the 'my Grandma is dating my lesbian cousin' type of shows.
Dr. Phil-our local news has a daily 'Dr. Phil moment'. That is all I need of the man. Yuck! And where is his neck?

I don't think Oprah looks any worse than the average woman without makeup. She has afed well. Money helps, I guess. (Along with not having kids, as my mother would say.)

I'll admit Okra is puffy and blotchy minus the makeup, but I love her and think she is a knockout when painted up.
I got in a big assed argument with a friend of mine once about her. I respect anyone's opinions - but it got down to the fact that my pal is an uppity southern white girl who can't stand black girl making good !
Of course, Okra is wealthy beyond description - but good for her. She really changes a lot of lives, and ultimately I think she has a net positive impact on the world. Very few human beings with that much money do so much to help other people.
She does annoy some people, though. Annoying is in the eye of the beholder !
